Trans-Siberian Railway Simulator a game I never knew I needed until I found it. Driving a locomotive through a cold-war Siberia turns out to be really fun, and the jobs you do for the Mafia are cool quests that differ heavily from the train-operating gameplay. It's an incredibly fun fever dream about trains and illegal activities in a Russia of the 1980s. I can highly recommend this game both to railway enthusiasts thanks to the train-riding only mode and to people who look for something new and different, since it has something of a GTA in Russia with trains in the regular Story mode. It can also be a decent choice for survival game fans thanks to the survival elements it has in two of it's three gamemodes.
In conclusion, this game is a really fun combination of survival, crime and train sim that may not sound very interesting at first, but turns out to be both relaxing (train gameplay) and entertaining (mafia gameplay) once you get into it. The developers care about this game and keep a close connection to the playerbase to make improvements and add more content. It also has a free demo so you can get a taste of what you can expect here. Highly recommended.

i have got a laptop 4050 gpu and a intel i5 12 gen its got low fps at lowest settings. it has frame drops almoast all the time. please fix it becuse all my other games run flawlessly.
Do you expect sitting comfortably in your warm cabin while the white rooftops fly by? No, you will maintain your train, cause some pain and make some gain. To put into perspective, you will be rolling 200 tons of frozen steel on dangerous tracks, running over deers and covering your head from bullet tips. The unforgiving and harsh life conditions make this game a very unique experience. I can feel cold and smell diesel by just looking at the icon on my desktop.
Wildly engaging game, that firstly gets you out of Gulag and then pulls you into dangerous criminal life in a communist state. Completing and surviving all the tasks you get assigned to is not going to be easy or pleasant, sometimes you just need to get some blood on your hands. The only time you will be allowed to relax is on station stops and even then, you should be searching trash cans for edible food.
The main vehicle's controls are intuitive, easy and even come with a operation manual. But taking care of the train takes some more time and engagement. Inspection mode lets you figure out the wear of certain parts and your adjustable wrench helps you replace them. Lastly, the scrapyard owners in different towns will take the old parts off your hands for a small buck and provide you with new ones.
Missions are interesting and the map is huge while still being updated. Character controls are great and so are shooting mechanics. Hangover and alcohol are the cherry on top, they also make sense and add some fun to the game.
Game performs very good most of the time while looking great, some crowded stations or towns tend to reduce framerate, but nothing that would take the fun away. On i5-12400F and RX6800XT while in 1440p, I get around 90 to 110 fps. Nice effects, sharp textures and great lighting provide a rich visual experience.
Without doubt I recommend you to have some fun with this title :)

Most games don’t let you chug a bottle of vodka and then drive a locomotive, but *Trans-Siberian Railway Simulator* said, “Why not?” It’s fun, ridiculous, and surprisingly accurate in portraying the regret you’ll feel the next morning when the hangover hits and you realize you left your train in a ditch.
2. **Survival Mode on Tracks**
It’s not just about driving the train—it’s about surviving the harsh Siberian wilderness. Need food? Better scavenge. Need heat? Better stoke that fire. Need to not die from random encounters? Better pray. It’s an oddly satisfying mix of tension and management.
3. **Wildlife Adventures**
Deer, bears, and other animals occasionally appear to spice up your journey. Hitting a deer at full speed is strangely exhilarating—until you realize you just added “cleaning deer guts off the train” to your to-do list.
4. **You’re Always in Danger**
Between managing the train, avoiding wildlife, and the constant risk of accidentally jumping off at 5 kph and dying because apparently you’re made of glass, there’s never a dull moment.
### Negatives:
1. **Realistic, Maybe Too Realistic**
The survival mechanics are punishing. Jump off the train to grab something at a snail’s pace? Dead. Forget to eat because you were busy fighting off wolves? Dead. Survive all that but forgot to hydrate after your vodka binge? Yep, dead again.
2. **The DEER (and Other Wildlife)**
Hitting a deer feels less like an accident and more like the deer was actively trying to ruin your day. And don’t even get me started on the bears. Or the humans. Oh yes, there are humans. Hitting one is horrifying, but the game’s oddly calm tone about it will make you wonder if *you’re* the real monster.
3. **Hangovers Are No Joke**
Getting drunk is fun until you wake up the next day with a pounding headache and realize you parked your train somewhere in the middle of nowhere. The hangover mechanics are a little *too* real.

4/5 - Worth it for the drunk train-driving experience alone, but docked a star for the hangovers, and the unreasonably fragile human legs.
Game is so much fun. If you get tried of driving the train just stop and get your AK out and go hunting. Also the fact your character gets drunk after 2 beers and dies after 3 beers is impressive.
Its a good train simulator game but not playable given its horrible performance issues. I put everything on low and kept dipping under 40fps, on a 7950x3d and 6900xt mind you.
Maybe not the best game, but surely not crap, a little bit laggy even with good PC

Actually freaking amazing! Not super far in but already hooked, mother Russia is proud. Comrade throw back a beer and shoot a bear, blow up a bridge and drive a train. What more could you ask for.
i love this game makes me feel like im russian. the mechanics is so complex but missions are so smooth. just try to understand mechanics once, then thats an "absolute game ＼(•_•)／"

it's a weird combo, train simulator and mafioso. the train simulation part is pretty cool, seems quite realistic. the mafia storyline is well, a little odd, but i'm only a few hours in. the game obviously still needs work, the developers are upfront about that, but it's quite playable. i'm looking forward to see what becomes of it, the game has potential. so far my biggest issue so far is the short little trips you take in the train are very repetitive. would like some long hauls with some nice scenery.
Absolutely loving this game! A lot of the train-based/related games on steam tend to be little more than management simulators (like, clash of clans overhead-type management), but this is actually super engaging and visually appealing. I would buy a similar game with the player operating a steam train (maybe on the American transcontinental railroad but I'm not picky in terms of setting) in a heartbeat.

As someone who has travelled on Trans Siberian railway and indeed have been to Novosibirsk in the 90s this smells of that era and ethos. Love the train driving, wish there were copies of the actual real manual for the train rather than text in game. Don't care much about story especially as it's all smuggling, mafia etc. etc. The train simulation part is spot on especially considering a very small dev team. Unique setting, OK graphics, great sim.
It's a bit hard and overwhelming with all the locomotive controls, but it's surprisingly good and engaging! I really felt in the Soviet Russian (not that I was there in real life). Great atmosphere as well.
Had to refund this.
Was getting 5FPS on default settings (which was Epic or Very high) put it to the lowest and still only got 14 FPS

It was on SSD but cant see that being the reason.
I disappointed as it was unplayable from the get go.
Very entertaining game, liked always driving a train and now getting out and interacting with the environment is a plus which i always missed with train simulators in the past.
It has just the right amount of "simulator" aspects, different handles, switches, signals replacing parts without overwhelming me.
The freedom of choice between pure train missions and adding the mafia/survival only if i want is great.
Full price recommended. Gets Updates.
Pretty fun and in Depth game. But passing other trains on the tracks makes the game a bit laggy. Also it seems to crash a good bit but overall a good time
Definitely not for everybody but I had loads of fun playing it. Would like to see MORE content, including more customisation for the locomotive, maybe some funny gimmicks to it like... flamethrowers, more trains etc.
This game is for sure pretty offensive, but the game play is engaging, for a train game.
If you like my summer car, this is simply my summer car with more alcoholism, guns, and a big train

Not prohibitively difficult, only complex in mechanics.
Trying to remember which lever is the brakes and frantically pulling all of them whilst traveling at mach 2 & about to crash and die is an amazing and funny experience.
I love the winter scenery and abundance of ushankas as well ^-^

The game gives professional train driving experience along with the USSR 80-s wave. The beauty of driving itself connected with interesting criminal story line would give you perfect Siberian 80-s experience.
Highly recommended to play with headphones, the sounds are highly important part of the game!

Game is pretty cool (no pun intended). However after an hour of gameplay my save no longer loads. Tried verifying and such, but still doesn't load. Little worried to restart / continue playing if I can't reload a save so soon. But I'm hopeful this will get fixed as what I did play was actually pretty chill! (Pun intended).
