It's an amazing game but progression speed varies from class to class and parts of the game you really just have to grind to beat bosses but when you kill said boss it feels so good. For your first time playing the game the classes that I would recommend would be melee and ranger, weapon progression for mages can be a bit slow at times, and summoner, well all I can say is it's summoner. I hope this review helped you consider if you should get the game or not, have a good one.
This game REQUIRES you to be on a wiki in order to figure out how to craft anything. Early progression is simple enough, just figure out how to summon whatever boss the guide tells you to kill and mine some ore for gear, but the second a crafting recipe needs two items or more you're on your own guessing what you might be missing, if you even know said item/recipe exists in the first place.
i love this I play like 14 hours a day and i know that's a lot but it's that fun and ive only had it for like 3 days you gotta try terraria you will play it more then minecraft I promise
This is probably my favorite game of all time. Having played 800 hours and gotten every achievement I can safely say I've explored every feature of the game. Yet I know I can and will easily play hundreds more and still learn new things.
An amazing ``survival`` / RPG with an astonishing world to explore. Tons of cool and unique items / weapons.
Great bosses and enemies. And a whole lot more of different building materials to let your imagination run wild.
Overall an exquisite experience.
It's a great game, fine game honestly it's maybe the most solid kids game, not as an insult but I think it's when I had the most fun from like 11-14/5-ish because there's a lot of magic to the game both in and out of it. I played a majority of my time on console probably hundreds of hours or so and it's been great but now I don't feel the nostalgia when looking back, I'm thinking about it and it could just be the people I played with and the horrible experiences I've had with them personally tainting the game play but I don't think it's that but something much more. I think the game just lost it's spark for me, again maybe I played wrong, or with the wrong people, or I wasn't doing something right apart of the game play loop but it just wasn't very fun and in fact was detrimental to any good mood I was in before playing. I will say, in the nicest, most "not your fault it's not you it's me" way possible, if I ever went back to this game to properly examine what I dislike and what isn't fun and my grievances in detail I fear I will end up spraying my critiques out the back of my head in a pink and red explosion with my teeth firmly making a notch into the barrel of a shotgun so in the end I think it'll sit on my shelf with 34 hours or so until a friend convinces me to give it a shot and I do before realizing what I'm playing and pulling the aforementioned shotgun out.
LOVE THIS GAME. Can't believe the time, effort, and love the developer put into this game. No other title is still adding free content so many years after release.

Terraria is a fun, 2D sandbox game where you can explore, mine, build, and fight. The world is randomly generated, so every time you play, it’s different. You can craft weapons, armor, and tools, and take on tough bosses. The game is simple to pick up but offers lots of depth as you progress.
The pixel art is charming, and the music fits the mood perfectly. Whether you’re playing alone or with friends, there’s always something new to discover. With tons of items to craft and new areas to explore, the game never feels boring.
If you like games where you can be creative and adventurous, Terraria is a great choice. It’s easy to get into but hard to stop playing. i have played this game like 10 mil times on my ps4 its great
GOATED, top 5 games of all time, no matter what comes out in the next 100 years, Terraria will always be one of the best games ever. The vanilla boss fights are super fun and engaging, gear progression is a great mix of fighting and exploring, and then on top of that, Redigit has added so much content outside of just killing bosses. So many pets and collectibles, tons of cosmetics to flaunt, and hundreds of different items to construct crazy builds with.
10/10 game, and it supports modding
But be warned, once you start modding, you'll never wanna play any game ever again. Calamity and Thorium make such fun and expansive additions to the original game, and flow so seamlessly into the vanilla progression, you just have to try them out. Alchemist NPC makes for a very interactive quality of life mod, allowing for certain grindy parts of gameplay to be simplified if desired.
11/10, this game is everything I could ever ask for in an interactive entertainment medium.
played this game on PS4 since 2017 and honestly this game is amazing as how it was back then, and when it comes to the mods id rate the game a 30 out of 10 instead of a 20 out of 10.
it been my dream to play mods like calamity growing up.

This is by far the best game I've played, It gives you freedom while also retaining a general direction for your progression, 10/10 would recommend anyone who enjoys exploring to find epic items or those who enjoy the process and results of crafting the most world-bending weapon.
Great game, Often compared to Minecraft but I think it's it's own game entirely. There's so much to do and explore, it sometimes can take days or months to beat a world with all the steps involved. But it keeps you entertained through all of it.
Lovable game with tonz of features and coop play. Man the sheer number of items, enemies and bosses. its limitless! I always return to the game to play it over and over again!
The game, while slightly buggy and at times tedious is extremely fun and addicting and because of it I have at the time of writing this spent almost 1000 hours (including tmod loader) also the soundtrack is good

This game... This game is actually really fun once you learn it.
Basically: You gotta learn how to make npc houses (doesn't matter how they look, just make suitable housing) and you should be able to figure stuff out on your own. (also once you learn how to play, please check out tmodloader please)
It's fun and the texture packs can be cool and fix bugs in the normal game

difficult yet fun, goofy references, pretty cosmetics, great characters, wonderful building system, amazing combat, unique enemies, well-made events, perfect power balancing, cute pets, music as good as Undertale's and Hollow knights, active community, and most importantly, is not 2d Minecraft!
Very enjoyable. Playing co-op is also funny, as well as playing with mods.
If you aim for the 100%, start with the fishing achievements ASAP (200 fish quest is a big pain in the ass wtf)
I really wanted to love this game. I only spent 1 and a half hours on it but that whole time was me looking up stuff to figure out what was happening. I think once you learn what's happening, how to counter, what you should loot etc it would be really fun but it was not my cup of tea.
holy moly it's peak!!!! basically endlessly replayable and add workshop support on top of that and you've got the recipe for something you can spend literal days playing.
First of all, this is NOTHING like Minecraft other than being pixel-themed. I don't know why people think that! Do you see guns in Minecraft? No. Is this game 3D? NO. Are there fireflies in Minecraft? NO!
This game is more centered on making more out of it's limited world, rather than trying to use an infinite one. The game is centered on fighting and sometimes mining to get resources to eventually destroy the final boss. There's a MASSIVE selection of everything from fighting playstyles, to enemies, and so much post-endgame things to do.
If you have the money, just buy it man, its only 10 bucks. WAY less than 30! But if you CAN but the four pack and get one copy for free alongside it so thats cool.
As you may be able to tell, i really really really like this game. It is not just 2D minecraft. There are so many items, npcs, bosses, and things to do that you’ll never get bored. Then add TEdit and mods and there are infinite possibilities. And for only $10?! Definitely a must buy for anyone with a computer.
It was tough to start, but once i figured out how to play it was a blast. Still very enjoyable to come back every few months to play for a month or so. I mainly play with friends so not sure how enjoyable solo play is.
Literally every person should own a copy of this game and experience it
This is one of those games that you could play endlessly at your own pace, especially with the huge amount of mod support.
You owe it to yourself to play this masterpiece if you haven't already. 10/10

Needs more unnecessary traps like more fake hearts that are just boulders, it does not get hard and annoying enough in higher difficulties.
GOATED game. if u end a few playthroughs id say go over to T-modloader. so u can add mods. this game is fun for hours on end.

A true labor of love and a shining icon of gaming, everyone on Earth should try Terraria at least once.
The game has been a part of my life for over 10 years. It's a thrilling sandbox adventure with mostly linear progression, tons of content, and lots of replayability. They keep updating it every once in a while, and content-focused mods can elevate the experience even more.
Like some games of its era, it can be a bit tough to get into without looking at the wiki a little bit. That's part of the experience, imo.
Timeless classic. First of all, the music is amazing. It has a very cozy, nostalgic feel to it. The combat is also fun as well. While early combat may feel a little slow, or maybe repetitive, as most early weapons essentially do the same thing, once you start unlocking some of the more fun weapons/spells later on, it really does feel good. Weapon variety is certainly not something they are lacking in. And onto one of my favorite things about the game, the boss/event variety. It feels like you never run out things to do, even after you beat the game. And the bosses don't feel like just some boring obstacle; almost every single one feels important, and some of them even pose a challenge, for those who are interested. I've put hundreds of hours into Terraria over different platforms, and I'm sure I'll do it again on pc. 100% recommend to anyone who's looking for a fun adventure.

Terraria is such a fun little adventure! 🌟 You can spend hours just exploring, building your dream home, and fighting 2D (sometimes fierce!) creatures. It’s like a sandbox where you can let your creativity run wild—whether you want to dig deep for treasures or build the coziest little cottage.
The graphics are charming, and there’s always something new to discover, especially when you play with friends! It’s the perfect mix of crafting, exploration, and a bit of whimsy.

This game would be perfect if you could be gay with the cyborg, but alas you cannot. Going to give this one a Skeletron Prime out of a Goblin Army is approaching from the west. Would recommend tho.
Items keep disappearing from my hot bar. I finally got the rod of discord which I put in the hot bar's first slot. Then after a while, I look there and it's suddenly gone. If I had dropped it, I would've noticed and would've automatically picked it back up. I looked in chests but it wasn't there. Now I'm going to have to grind it all over again.

Summary: just buy the game already
terraria is a game that is slow at first but after you defeat a few bosses it speeds up, my first playthrough was with a friend has had played the game alot and he teached my alot about the game.
Loved this game, 1000 hours in and I miss it. Just got bored but its still fun fun fun
I did not grow up with games. I have 0 game sense. I also get really bad motion-sickness with most games. Usually I just accept I am bad at games, and give up / get carried. This is the only game i've consistently played over 4 years and have really enjoyed the grind & learning to "get gud". I make all my friends play this game with me and they have been addicted too. TLDR highly recommend this game to everyone. (p.s. such a good game for couples...if your S.O sucks at games like me this may be the game for you. Though I'm the one who carries everyone now :3)
A game that never gets old. Every time I return to this game, there is always something new to do. I've sunk in countless hours into this game, whether playing single player or with friends, vanilla or modded, its always an enjoyable experience no matter how you play.

Terraria is a 2D sandbox game centered on exploration, building, crafting, combat, survival, and mining. While it can be enjoyed solo mode , I believe it’s like ten times more fun with friends. If you’re seeking a game to immerse yourself in for a long time with plenty of activities, Terraria is perfect for you. It features an excellent soundtrack, really fun bosses, and enjoyable gameplay!
