Probably one of, if not my favorite game of all time. Great for solo playthroughs and with friends. Adding mods creates unlimited possibilities.
One of the greatest old school feeling games and probably one of my all time favorites. Discovered this in an earlier release on x box. Played it on mobile. When i joined Steam it was on my list. If you're into games like this definitely play this.

It's an exciting sandbox game. With a vast world full of diverse creatures and resources, players can build, explore, and fight. There are countless items to discover and use for different purposes. It offers a lot of fun and challenges, suitable for those who love creative and adventure gameplay.
Played on both Xbox 360 and Steam. Terraria is one of my fave games for nearly 10 years now! The game has stayed consistently updated by a dedicated team, and the modding scene adds plenty of variety to spice up the game if the vanilla experience isn't for you/burns you out. There's plenty of options for how you'd like to experience the game, so just play however feels right.
Most, if not, all arguable issues w/ the base game can be fixed by modding, which has been made that much easier by Tmodloader being usable thru Steam itself.
I love the game I recomend this if you like adventure and exploring type games but the only thing i have disliked about terraria is that you cant play it cross platform with people on xbox or playstation other than that i love the game

One of the best sandboxes in existance. Dosnt hold player's hand and lets them do everything on their own. Pixel art is amazing. Now stop reading this review and go play it damn it I promise its worth your time!

Terraria was and remains the best survival sandbox game on the market. Re-Logic outdoes themselves with every update and demonstrates a seemingly endless commitment to fine-tuning and improving the game, despite it being in a “finished” state for nearly a decade. Where other games fall prey to development hell, Terraria gives us a glimpse into the rare development heaven. If there is anyone left in 2024 who hasn’t yet played Terraria, they owe it to themselves.
literally the perfect sandbox game. Theres a perfect balance between having the freedom to do what you want, and being forced to do something to progress the game, leaving you with enough internal and external motivation to play this game for hours on end.
I can't handle 3D environments very well, so a certain other sandbox game is out for that reason. Terraria doesn't lose at all in my mind, however. I often fall into a sort of a trance, exploring the worlds... The lively playerbase and continuing updates even so long after the game's release are really nice, too!
Amazing game! Cool bosses, good progression, and it gives a good challenge! My only complaint is the stupid angler quests that make me want to gouge my eyes out, 200?!?! That is the only reason I am never going to even TRY to get all of the achievements.
This is the game that made me play as much games as I have. References are cool and made me discover the wonderful world of gaming. Thank you Terraria

Its amazing the game is super fun and entertaining has been keeping me busy for years i love the game in vanilla and modded its a highly recommended game in my opinion unique bosses, cool classes, armor sets of many with bonuses, weapons with effects that are beyond, pets, Easter eggs, events this game has it all out of the bottom of my heart if you've never played this game try it don't judge it until at least finishing 1 run
Terraria is amazing - given that you have friends/partner to play with.
Fun randomized worlds, different modes, a LOT of stuff to collect, cool boss designs, this game either has you searching for your next adventure or goofing around with whoever you're playing with. That's a must have in the library of people who like 2D exploring adventure games.
This game is an incredible one. I absolutely have loved it all the way. The devs are updating it for the "final" update and they put so much work and love into it, and they listen and care about the community. I have something like 400-500 hours total in this game, and I have done many a playthrough with friends. Excellent to play solo or with friends, easy to get into, and many ways to play.

A great sandbox survival game that offers many ways to get lost in the game as a whole, chances are even after fifty hours put into the game you are still only barely scratching the surface that the game has to offer to you as the player. You'll find yourself experiencing a vast amount of boss fights, crazy underground biomes and more. I'd personally say the game is both equally enjoyable as a solo player and when playing with friends. It's worth it when at full price and even more of a steal when on sale.
Playing Terraria for the first time is like a maze. Its a game you can get lost in time and time again, and I always come back for more. The game has many many fun aspects to do whether its building, combat, bosses, or computers. Modding makes this even better, adding hundreds of new ways to play. Truly a game everyone has to play once in their life. Would recommend every time.
Love everything about it, theres always something to do. Nearly 100 hours in and I haven't even reached the end of the game.
I started playing Terraria on PC more recently, I've played on console before and playing on PC with access to tMod whenever I feel I need new content feels great, Somehow they're going to release another update eventually and I truly look forward to it.

By far, this is my absolute favorite game to play with my friend and just go to town on our numerous worlds till the end, and start again, new world, new class, new experience.
There is so much content, I have played for almost 1600 hours at this point and I have yet to go each pathway. The building in this game is so fun, the accessory system has been copied to numerous games which is a testament to how good it is. The world generation is fun.
Everything about this game is great and the developers are by far the best developers for any game I have played ever. They just keep adding stuff! They can not stop and each addition they make makes the game even better.

This game is so so so so so good I love it I've played 15hrs in 2yrs I love terraria It makes my balls tingle when I see wall of flesh I love flesh lights though... I hope this review is helpful to somebody but I also to have mention that this game is bad I don't like the mechanics and I don't like the anti slavery inside of it

This game is very fun. Its not very beginner friendly though. You will need a guide or a friend or even the wiki at some point. Anyways it will be the best 15 bucks you've ever spent.
Great game. Some parts definitely need some grinding, but its a lot better than some other games. Highly recommend playing with other friends, it just adds more fun and chaos (and speeds stuff up). When I first started playing I refereed to it as "2D Minecraft" and that still is somewhat accurate: there are multiple ways to play, building, hardcore, but my favorite part is TMod Loader for mods, Calamity is easily one of the best mods, it adds a TON of content! Base game is great, but after playing it a few times its so much fun to try out new mods to enhance the fun!

I re-visit this game quite often since 2016 and I always find new stuff to play.
Among so many games that ask you $60 for some garbage not even worth playing (especially last 5 years), this game is not the case. Oh baby not at all.
No matter how old this game will ever become in 10 or 20 years, Terraria will remain one of the very few masterpieces out there.

Easily the best value for money game on Steam, and one of my all time favourites. This is the passion project of the developer and it shows with every update. No paid DLC, no microtransactions, just a good game. The game also has an active, endorsed modding community which just adds endless content.
This is a short review to show how much I appreciate this amazing game and team. I haven't played much (I have few more hours on console), but I feel like I haven't even explored most of what the game has to offer. It's a bit confusing at first, but the game offers such extensive gameplay elements. It's a sandbox game first and foremost, but it's so fun every time you open it due to the way the combat is implemented. It's an absolute steal for this price. You can easily customize your experience through the use of mods. I have nothing else to say, it's just a game that's worth trying if it looks even a tiny bit interesting to you. Updates are still being released this long after the launch. It's amazing.
It's an amazing game but progression speed varies from class to class and parts of the game you really just have to grind to beat bosses but when you kill said boss it feels so good. For your first time playing the game the classes that I would recommend would be melee and ranger, weapon progression for mages can be a bit slow at times, and summoner, well all I can say is it's summoner. I hope this review helped you consider if you should get the game or not, have a good one.
This game REQUIRES you to be on a wiki in order to figure out how to craft anything. Early progression is simple enough, just figure out how to summon whatever boss the guide tells you to kill and mine some ore for gear, but the second a crafting recipe needs two items or more you're on your own guessing what you might be missing, if you even know said item/recipe exists in the first place.
i love this I play like 14 hours a day and i know that's a lot but it's that fun and ive only had it for like 3 days you gotta try terraria you will play it more then minecraft I promise
This is probably my favorite game of all time. Having played 800 hours and gotten every achievement I can safely say I've explored every feature of the game. Yet I know I can and will easily play hundreds more and still learn new things.
An amazing ``survival`` / RPG with an astonishing world to explore. Tons of cool and unique items / weapons.
Great bosses and enemies. And a whole lot more of different building materials to let your imagination run wild.
Overall an exquisite experience.
It's a great game, fine game honestly it's maybe the most solid kids game, not as an insult but I think it's when I had the most fun from like 11-14/5-ish because there's a lot of magic to the game both in and out of it. I played a majority of my time on console probably hundreds of hours or so and it's been great but now I don't feel the nostalgia when looking back, I'm thinking about it and it could just be the people I played with and the horrible experiences I've had with them personally tainting the game play but I don't think it's that but something much more. I think the game just lost it's spark for me, again maybe I played wrong, or with the wrong people, or I wasn't doing something right apart of the game play loop but it just wasn't very fun and in fact was detrimental to any good mood I was in before playing. I will say, in the nicest, most "not your fault it's not you it's me" way possible, if I ever went back to this game to properly examine what I dislike and what isn't fun and my grievances in detail I fear I will end up spraying my critiques out the back of my head in a pink and red explosion with my teeth firmly making a notch into the barrel of a shotgun so in the end I think it'll sit on my shelf with 34 hours or so until a friend convinces me to give it a shot and I do before realizing what I'm playing and pulling the aforementioned shotgun out.
LOVE THIS GAME. Can't believe the time, effort, and love the developer put into this game. No other title is still adding free content so many years after release.

The pixel art is charming, and the music fits the mood perfectly. Whether you’re playing alone or with friends, there’s always something new to discover. With tons of items to craft and new areas to explore, the game never feels boring.
If you like games where you can be creative and adventurous, Terraria is a great choice. It’s easy to get into but hard to stop playing. i have played this game like 10 mil times on my ps4 its great
