Remastered with enhanced graphics, Steelport the original city of sin, has never looked so good as it drowns in sex, drugs and guns.
Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobblehead dolls all available at a store near you. The Saints are kings of Stilwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute.
Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to Steelport, a once-proud metropolis reduced to a struggling city of sin under Syndicate control. Take a tank skydiving, call in a satellite-targeted airstrike on a Mexican wrestling gang, and fight against a highly-trained military force by your lonesome in the most outlandish gameplay scenarios ever seen.

this is gta IV on crack and I love it for that. Co op is stupid fun (messed up the helicopter mission 5 times and don't regret it once). Though the game can be kinda buggy, it's still fortnite fire cop now
I only got this game to get the "Gotta break em in" achievement if i'm being honest. - 10/10 highly recommend!
I’m a huge fan of Saints Row The Third, having spent countless hours playing it and even finishing the story 100% for 5 times! But if I’m being honest, I wouldn’t recommend Saints Row The Third REMASTERED.
In my opinion, the characters look worse.. they’ve lost the charm they had in the original. The graphics don’t feel like a major improvement compared to the standard SR3, though I’ll give some credit for the slightly improved driving mechanics. As a big SR3 fan, it’s disappointing not to recognize the characters I loved. Overall, it doesn’t live up to the original for me.
Overall score 6/10
Grab The Auto V, or something idk
Saints Row: The Third Remastered is, as the title implies, a remaster of Saints Row: The Third, a 2011 game similar to GTA and includes all DLC. Save from a short while of playing Saints Row 2 many years ago, I have never played Saints Row. I assure you, this game is wacky as all hell.
Gameplay
The game plays kinda similar to GTA, being an open world game where you can do missions, steal cars and go on mass murder sprees. The main difference, however, is that this game is goofy as fuck. An always available quick melee button lets you hit people in the nuts. You can dive while sprinting. You can take enemies as shields and throw them with ridiculous force.
There are missions, obviously, as well as many activities throughout the world. Doing these activities earns you respect, which enables you to buy upgrades with cash. Completing activities allows you to progressively take over the city of Steelport, allowing you to boost a passive hourly income, allowing you to make money by doing nothing. This is truly the best idle game of all time.
Story
The Saints are a gang-turned-media conglomerate (or something, remember I know fuck-all about Saints Row), they get into a shitshow with some criminal groups, and honestly the story is something you need to witness. It's not the most bonkers game I've played, that title goes to Sunset Overdrive, but the story is definitely...something/
Graphics
As a remaster, the game boasts higher visual fidelity than the original. As I never played the original, I cannot comment on how faithful it is, but from some browsings from the Saints Row wiki it doesn't look that drastically different.
While the game runs well for the most part, the game starts off with messed up resolution. Since pressing ESC skips a cutscene, and the game forcibly starts you into a cutscene, you either have to skip the intro or watch it in messed up resolution. Once that is resolved, the game runs and looks pretty good.
Verdict
I hereby declare Saints Row: The Third Remastered as
Pretty good and goofy
Woe, portable airstrikes be upon ye.
This is cool if you’re looking for a funny coop game with a friend . It’s a lot going on, you just gotta play it to understand . It’s changed a lot from the first saints row. Idek how they went this far left.
really good but i feel like this game lacks in customization compared to saints row 1 and 2 when it comes to Layered clothing and cribs and some features are straight gone from the old games
saints row the third more like saints row the tird and play saintsrow 2 instead
this shit cool asf to play while high
i cant believe i used to hate these games, it has finally clicked with me... this makes checklist-type open worlds fun in a way ubisoft never has... i have learned to stop worrying and love the slop
Despite being a downgrade from Saints Row 2, I would still recommend Saints Row the Third if you can get it on sale.
Steelport is a flat and uninspired city, customisation is limiting with both male and female characters looking the same, activities have been neutered, the story is forgettable and so are the characters, gunplay is arcadey, driving physics are tolerable at best and abysmal at worst.
And yet I had fun and because of that I can recommend this game.
Its a great game but buggy especially in the sound, the lowest graphics tends to be the high graphics and the high graphics is being the lowest graphics like wtf is that? also there is a glitch in your character sometimes but to resolve all of this you just have to restart the game. Overall it is a good game.
Saints Row: The Third Remastered is an exhilarating and over-the-top experience that perfectly captures the essence of chaos and humor in open-world gaming. From the moment you dive back into the vibrant streets of Steelport, you’re greeted with a mix of outrageous antics, memorable characters, and a storyline that embraces the absurdity of it all.
The remastered version enhances the already iconic visuals, bringing the colorful and exaggerated world to life with improved graphics and performance. The attention to detail is impressive, making the city feel even more immersive. Whether you’re cruising through the streets in a ridiculous vehicle or engaging in wild combat, the upgraded visuals elevate the experience significantly.
One of the standout features of Saints Row: The Third is its unapologetic humor. The game doesn’t take itself seriously, and that’s part of its charm. From hilarious dialogue to outrageous missions, every moment is designed to entertain. The character customization options are extensive, allowing players to create their own unique Saints member, which adds a personal touch to the chaos.
The gameplay is a delightful mix of action, exploration, and mayhem. The variety of missions keeps things fresh, whether you’re taking down rival gangs, participating in absurd activities, or engaging in epic set pieces. The combat mechanics are fluid and satisfying, with an array of weapons and abilities at your disposal that make every encounter feel dynamic.
Co-op gameplay is another highlight, allowing you to team up with a friend and wreak havoc together in Steelport. The shared experience enhances the fun, making it even more enjoyable to tackle missions or simply cause chaos in the city.
Overall, Saints Row: The Third Remastered is a fantastic tribute to one of the most beloved entries in the franchise. It successfully combines humor, action, and an open-world environment in a way that feels both nostalgic and refreshing. Whether you’re a returning fan or new to the series, this remaster is a must-play for anyone looking for an entertaining and wild ride. Get ready to embrace the madness!
Great remaster. Game looks and feels great! Not sure what the negative reviews are complaining about. Game is just as fun as when i was a kid playing the original version. Def worth sale price!
Better than that dogshit Saints Row 2022 reboot
For Dinosaurs like me, I'm 41, it has all the action and strategies we like. One of the best games ever.
60FPS max graphics on my Steam Deck, despite saying unsupported, controls work flawlessly
runs skippy and jumpy first missons are more annoying then i remember just simply not fun even for the 5$
i dont get why alot of people hate on this. The game runs fine for me, played it with a friend and it was really fun.
yes i first played saints row the third (original version) on the xbox 360 and it was pretty good and with saints row the third you can mod it
Been my childhood game since I was 7. I re-downloaded, and it's still as fun as ever.
I don't understand what's happening with gamers these days. People seem to have unrealistically high expectations from games, even though they know how much effort goes into making them. This game is pretty solid and one of the best remasters ever made. Initially, I was playing a cracked version, which had some issues, but after purchasing it on Steam, I didn’t face any problems at all.
This review has been long overdue and I only got around to it now since I recently replayed the remastered version. As someone who grew up playing all the Saints Row games, this game gets a lot of unwarranted hate. Sure, SR 2 was better in terms of writing and making the atmosphere gritty and serious but SR:TT was the true game that made Saints Row unique, appealed to both: people who wanted fun and people who were into GTA-esque games, and made it stand out from being another GTA clone. They showed the protagonist doesn't always have to be brooding, depressed and an austere character; they proved that one can be as hilarious and unhinged as they want and still run a gang successfully. When it comes to gameplay, SR:TT is untouchable. From the way you steal cars to the melee attacks, the gameplay is packed with fun and they were very ahead of their time with some of the humor they employed. Their character customization was impeccable as well. I have spent hours in just the cc menu alone, tweaking parameters and creating different people. Not to mention, this was like the only open-world game based on gangs where you could have a female protagonist running a gang. My only complaints with this game was the fact they made it too short and the lack of activities. They should have retained stuff from SR 2 like some of the activities, the ability to do vices ( no matter how trivial it sounds, it did add to the immersion), the clothes layering option and the ability to replay cut scenes. But regardless of the stuff they got rid off, SR:TT was a great game and did leave its mark on the gaming world.
nice game dude
A crazy remaster of a crazy game with a crazy vibe.
정신 나갈 것 같아.
[h3]An updated version of the cult game.
Have no idea why this says it doesn't work with the steam deck, Played this on the deck for a while and no issues or glitches.
runs like shit and looks super blurry. just play the original with mods and reshade.
Really wacky, comedy-focused GTA-like game. Although I honestly think after the third one was released, Rockstar started to copy Saints Row considering they made GTA V way more comedy focused and basically made GTA Online like full on wacky mode. Saints Row The Third is very unique game which offers a ton of things to do, a lot of adult humor, a great customization, coop mode and good story. Although I prefer the second one, Saints Row 3 is still a great game and deserves more recognition. (Also it's the last good game in the series, before it went fully downhill with Saints Row 4 for being too focused on dumb science fiction than gangster stuff. Not to mention the reboot Saints Row)
Got the bundle with SR2/ SR3/ SR3:Re/ SR4:Re/ SR:gat out of hell and all the DLC'S that came with all the games for 18.90$(was on sale, it cost like 140$ with out the sale... so yeah big steal) and all of them are very fun, i see an lot of desktop pc players saying SR2 crashes an lot and SR3:Re is very buggy, but i guess you guys need to play on laptop pc... or im just lucky bc my SR2 doesn't crashes and SR3:Re runs just fine and its not so buggy, the only thing that bothers me is when they talk, the mouth movement is weird, talking in like 5 fps, but other then that, it's just fine in my book.
P.S: i have played all of these games on the xbox 360, there were my childhood, so def recommend to play if you haven't.
I love saints row 3 but this "remaster" is as buggy as cyberpunk 2077 on launch
Saints Row 3 has always been a favourite of mine and the Remaster just makes it even better. Standing out in the rain as a better version of your Boss while admiring your new car and watching the glorious details of Steelport rendered to perfection? It doesn't get much more nostalgic or pleasurable than this.
cant even load the game
A cool GTA-like game, but much better than any GTA. I really like what they did with this genre. The Third and 4 are also one of my all time favourite games.
Better than the original 3rd game. Feels modern and still crazy fun.
For six dollars this is a steal. I only encountered one game breaking bug in a mission and it fixed itself after a restart. Some graphical glitches here and there and some non-solid buildings but overall I have had a great time.
Wish it was the first one or the 2nd but ill take it
Childhood classic, all the memories coming back, the remastered has some tweaks tho that are very different from the classic, so some differences to be seen. Other than that it mostly reflects the old Saints Row Three, get it if you want a blast from the past!
Infinite loading... Buy the original and mod it. This is nothing but another Cash grab with no play testing involved...
*Saints Row: The Third Remastered* is a chaotic, over-the-top sandbox experience that blends absurd humor, explosive action, and a vibrant world into an unapologetically fun package. The remastered version breathes new life into the beloved 2011 classic, ensuring both newcomers and returning players will find plenty to enjoy.
### Story and Tone
The game’s story embraces its ridiculousness with open arms. You play as the leader of the Third Street Saints, a gang that has transformed into a global brand. When a powerful crime syndicate tries to strong-arm your empire, you fight back with an arsenal of outrageous weapons and missions that escalate from hilarious to completely insane.
The narrative is laced with sharp humor, absurd scenarios, and unforgettable moments. Whether you’re skydiving into an enemy base or fighting off a gang of luchadors with a giant purple bat, *Saints Row: The Third* knows exactly what it is—a playground of chaos—and leans into it fully.
### Gameplay
The gameplay offers a perfect balance of freedom and structured chaos. The open world of Steelport is your playground, filled with diverse activities, side missions, and collectibles. Combat is fast-paced and fluid, whether you’re wielding traditional firearms or bizarre tools like the infamous "Octopus Gun." Vehicle handling is arcade-like and satisfying, making high-speed chases and stunts a joy.
The progression system allows for extensive customization, from your character’s appearance and outfits to the weapons and vehicles you use. The sheer variety ensures every player can tailor the experience to their liking.
### Remastered Graphics
The remastered visuals are a standout feature. Lighting, textures, and character models have been significantly improved, giving Steelport a vibrant and modern look. The city feels alive, with neon-lit streets, detailed environments, and a polished aesthetic that honors the original while elevating it for a new generation.
### Soundtrack and Audio
The soundtrack is phenomenal, featuring a mix of licensed music that perfectly complements the game’s tone. Whether you're gunning down enemies to Kanye West's "Power" or cruising through Steelport to the soothing sounds of classical music, the soundtrack enhances every moment. The voice acting is equally stellar, with each character brought to life through sharp writing and performances.
### Multiplayer and Co-op
Co-op play is one of the game’s strongest features. Teaming up with a friend to cause havoc in Steelport doubles the fun, whether you're tackling missions or simply exploring the city. The co-op mode works seamlessly and encourages creative mayhem.
### Final Thoughts
*Saints Row: The Third Remastered* is the definitive way to experience one of the most entertaining open-world games ever made. It doesn’t take itself seriously, and that’s exactly what makes it so special. The remastered visuals, combined with its timeless humor and gameplay, ensure it remains a standout in the genre. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer, this is an unforgettable ride that shouldn’t be missed.
**Rating: 9.5/10**
A gloriously chaotic and remastered masterpiece that delivers endless fun and absurdity. Steelport has never looked—or played—better.
The remaster is not much of an improvement on the original for PC players, but Saints Row 3 is a wacky, amazing, open-world GTA-style game with unmatched raunchy humor.
Saints Row: The Third – Remastered is basically what happens when you combine a Fast & Furious movie, Grand Theft Auto, a bag of Cheetos, and a 10-gallon drum of pure, unfiltered chaos. It’s the perfect game for anyone who has ever thought, "What if I could shoot people with a rocket launcher while wearing a hotdog costume and driving a tank that shoots rainbows?" Well, now you can, and I’m here to tell you exactly why you should absolutely do that.
The Story: What Plot?
In Saints Row: The Third, you're the leader of the 3rd Street Saints, a gang that went from low-level hoodlums to global megastars. But instead of basking in fame, they’ve decided to take over the city of Steelport by any means necessary—including, but not limited to, skydiving out of a plane while shooting rocket launchers at people. The main antagonist? A collection of crazies, including a drug-dealing overlord who loves bad fashion choices and a bunch of mercenaries who all seem to be auditioning for the next Mad Max movie.
You’re not playing for the plot here. Don’t come looking for anything deep. This is a game that’s more about causing insane, physics-defying destruction than telling a meaningful story. It’s less “Save the world!” and more “How many vehicles can I send to orbit today?”
Gameplay: Welcome to Chaos Town
The gameplay in Saints Row: The Third is an all-you-can-eat buffet of mayhem. This is a game where you get to unleash maximum chaos without any pesky laws of physics or human decency getting in the way. Want to roll through Steelport in a purple tank, firing missiles at pedestrians while blasting “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred? Go for it. Want to jump off a building while holding an RPG and blow up a helicopter mid-air? Hell yeah, you can do that too.
Combat is fast, brutal, and hilariously over-the-top. You’ll be throwing people off rooftops, smacking them with a giant inflatable dildo, or shooting them with a gun that shoots other guns. The weapons are absolutely insane and come in all shapes, sizes, and levels of absurdity. From the Penetrator dildo bat to the inflatable sex doll shotgun, every gun in the game seems to be trying to outdo the last one in terms of sheer ridiculousness. Oh, and the “Tank” is actually a car that shoots exploding bees. Because, of course, it is.
Driving is equally bananas. Steelport is your personal playground, and you can do whatever you want, even if it’s completely illegal, impossible, or makes zero sense. You can drive cars, planes, boats, tanks, hovercrafts—basically anything that can carry you from point A to point explosion. The best part? You can customize these vehicles, making them even more ridiculous. Need a car that shoots rocket-powered dildo projectiles? Yeah, that’s an option. Do it.
Customization: Create the Absurd
Here’s where Saints Row: The Third goes from “wild” to “stop reading this and play right now.” The customization in this game is endless and absolutely ridiculous. You’re not just customizing your clothes; you’re customizing the entire universe. Want to make your character look like a hulking barbarian wearing a hotdog costume while wielding a giant, inflatable hammer? DONE. Need a car that shoots rainbow lasers while playing Barbie Girl on a loop? DONE.
You can change your character’s face, body type, clothing, and even the voice. Want to sound like a robot? You can. Want to sound like an old-timey British detective? You can do that, too. The best part? You can also give your character a completely new personality, because nothing says “Saints Row” like going full psycho clown in a suit made of fishnets. Want your character to look like a gorilla in a business suit? Great, make it happen.
And if you don’t want to be the one getting the attention, make sure to customize your vehicles. From rocket-propelled giant toys to neon-lit low-riders that scream “I’m here for a good time and a lawsuit,” this game is here to make you stand out. Every car is your canvas for sheer creative nonsense.
Graphics: Not Exactly Next-Gen, but Fun-Gen
Look, Saints Row: The Third isn’t going to win any visual awards, but it does get a solid glow-up in the remaster. The characters are sharper, the textures are cleaner, and the city of Steelport looks extra shiny—but let’s be real, you’re not playing this game for photorealistic graphics. You’re here for the rainbow-colored explosions, the insane ragdoll physics, and the flame-shooting helicopter dives. And honestly, the remaster doesn’t need cutting-edge visuals; it just needs to be functional enough to deliver a ridiculous experience at a consistent frame rate. Which it does.
Steelport’s neon-lit streets and absurdly detailed storefronts all pop with vibrant color, and even though the graphics aren’t “top of the line,” you’ll still appreciate how good it looks when you’re punching a guy in the face with a giant foam finger at 60fps.
Soundtrack: Banger After Banger
The soundtrack in Saints Row: The Third is a perfect fit for the mayhem you’re about to cause. “I’m Too Sexy” is a song that’s actually playing while you're driving around in a tank. “Power” by Kanye West accompanies your insane takedowns. It’s the kind of music that makes you want to yell “YEAH!” in your car while simultaneously firing off a rocket at an innocent streetlight.
The voice acting is also top-tier ridiculous. From your character’s ridiculous one-liners to the constant bizarre sound effects, it’s a riot from start to finish. Whether you’re chuckling at your character's deadpan delivery or bursting out laughing at an over-the-top explosion, the audio design nails it.
Co-op: More Chaos, Now With Friends
If you thought causing chaos was fun, try doing it with a friend. The co-op mode is where the madness truly multiplies. You can team up with a buddy to rob banks, destroy rival gangs, or just try to break the game in the most hilarious ways possible. It’s a drop-in/drop-out experience, so you can start causing havoc whenever you want, and it never stops being fun.
The best part? Co-op lets you team up to make your own brand of ridiculousness. You and your buddy can create custom characters, blow stuff up, and make Steelport your own personal playground. You’ll find yourselves laughing until you can’t breathe—and then blowing each other up with rocket launchers.
Minor Criticisms: It’s Not Perfect… But Who Cares?
Sure, the AI is as smart as a brick and can sometimes act like it’s been programmed by an intern on their first day. But who cares? You’re driving a car that shoots laser beams at people. The game’s narrative isn’t exactly Oscar-winning material, either. But again—who cares? You’re customizing your vehicle to shoot exploding bees while listening to Cher.
The game can get a little repetitive after a while—especially if you’re doing a lot of side activities. But that’s just because Saints Row: The Third is really just one big “let’s see how ridiculous we can make this” sandbox. And let’s be honest, you’re not playing this for deep philosophical introspection—you’re playing it to blow up an ice cream truck with a bazooka.
Final Verdict: Absolutely Batsh*t Insane Fun
Saints Row: The Third – Remastered is a glorious celebration of pure chaos. It’s an open-world game that takes itself about as seriously as a pineapple wearing sunglasses—and that’s exactly what makes it so fun. You don’t need to be a serious gamer to appreciate the ridiculousness of hijacking a tank and shooting exploding dildos at people while blasting a cheesy ’80s soundtrack.
If you want a game that’s as insane, ridiculous, and unpredictable as your wildest dreams, then get ready to drop into Steelport and make the world burn. Get this game, embrace the chaos, and remember: there’s no such thing as too ridiculous.
good game!!! BEWARE, ONLY FOR ADULTS, NOT TEENAGERS OR KIDS.
Great looking remaster. Other than some audio bugs the game is a blast to play, and I don't understand why it has mixed reviews. Finished the game and all of the DLC in 15 hours.
the game holds up today, the story is engaging and the activities are fun (apart from insurance fraud), just don't take the game too seriously. only buy it on sale tho, £20 or less.
The remaster is not much of an improvement on the original for PC players, but Saints Row 3 is a wacky, amazing, open-world GTA-style game with unmatched raunchy humor.
Just get original game please.
So far my three complaints are:
1. Slower movement. Player character's actions feel slower than in original. Isn’t helped by shops and in-game menus having noticeable delay to the point of split-second blank screens appearing. Yes, my PC definitely can handle this game.
2. Graphics. Sure, there is new UI, loadscreens, new textures and cinematics. Shaundi got an upgrade (probably the first and only thing anybody notices... and fixates on). Gameplay characters however look somewhat like a mix of SR2 and SR3. That is not great. Even Shaundi herself looks stunning in cinematics but about as good as SR3 version if not worse in actual gameplay.
3. Settings. Set everything to high, disabled fluff and tailored graphics (called "display") settings to my liking, which isn't really much since you have like 10 of them. The results? After playing some time with normal-looking picture, game suddenly decided that making everything as dark as possible is a wonderful idea. I get it, Stilport starting missions are at night time, but that doesn't mean characters can't see anything in a city full of streetlights, neon adverts and various other nighttime illuminations. Even daytime intro mission turned into wading through darkness right after opening first door (no, interiors are not pitch black the moment there aren't any windows in direct line of sight and no, shadows are not just black. Light doesn't work this way!). Also fun fact: this effect persists once occurred with settings having no effect, so you have three options: play "as is", reload from main menu or restart the game completely. Even then only ful lrestart can fix the issues (tested this... sull restart sort of fixes this issue). Adding to that, even "special mode" has these bugs with added effect of every texture looking like oversaturated garbage. HDR disabled btw.
Edit: after testing if full restart fixes darkness issue, which it maybe does, there is another problem: exiting starter crib adn going straight right entire opposite coast is covered in black squares, with water and everything else also covered with same black squares. I'll see if any files are broken, but if they are not (as expected) then deleting this mess of a game right afterwards. Well, files verified successfully and bug is there so deletion it is.
Eddit2: these squares are water and most of the city's outer coastline. 5 ports out of 5... why do I have this game even?
If I can overlook first two points (even though some characters definitely have worse looking models now) then third one is what makes me want to free up about 46GB of space and go back to original game that not only plays, works and looks better but takes up only 9GB.
Can I recommend this game? No. Do I think they'd better make new game than another attempt at "realistic graphics"? Yes. Do I think they'd pull it off??? Not really.
Please go and buy original if you still can in your timeline. At least it will be more enjoyable.
actually good

Most people on here say this is a garbage port: they're all right. Hopefully you have the original, apparently co-op is dead on it sooo you might wanna take this port and the original in-mind with that when you purchase. (This port still has working co-op as of writing.)
