The Saints are kings of Stilwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to Steelport, a once-proud metropolis reduced to a struggling city of sin under Syndicate control.
Take a tank skydiving, call in a satellite-targeted airstrike on a Mexican wrestling gang, and defend yourself against a highly-trained military force using only a sex toy in the most out- landish gameplay scenarios ever seen, igniting a city-wide war that will set Steelport on fire. Strap it on.

How does this game even sometimes? like what?
Psychological torture the video game, play with a friend to activate extra hard mode
This game is a lost cause. I was able to get it to launch once, and then the game immediately froze on the main menu and will not launch again despite hours of troubleshooting.
I often describe this series as insane, and it is. In a good way though.
Saints Row 1 & 2 are often compared to Grand Theft Auto due to the style of game, but the series really fits into its own niche. The first two games of the series were closer to GTA, but even they never took themselves too seriously.
SR3 takes itself even less seriously than those first couple though. At times SR3 arguably takes it too far and borders on whacky, but it remains fun throughout. It's kind of like the Fast & Furious movie franchise where each subsequent movie just gets more and more over the top. SR3 mostly finds a nice balance between the completely random and whacky scenarios while still paying homage to the more "gangster" origins of the first couple of games.
The story is actually pretty interesting to follow, especially some of the side characters. Lots of fun little mini games to occupy your time too.
Just a very fun experience.
Game will not startup and despite countless time spent trying to troubleshoot the issue, I only got the game to launch the intro and then an instant crash. From what I have read on other threads, some people manage to get past this issue but for me it hasn't worked so I would keep this in mind if you are considering buying this game. - 0/10 would not recommend!
Old, but gold. Kind of a knock-off GTA, but it has this ''in your face'' action non-stop. It's not as developed as GTA at all, but a nice game for sure
Game has a lot of issues but it is still one of a kind and still better than SR4.
The Steam Clown Award is an absolutely stupid concept. It serves no real purpose other than to belittle and shame people, offering no constructive value whatsoever. Instead of encouraging positive feedback or meaningful critique, it just reinforces a culture of mockery and pointless trolling. The whole idea is absurd—it’s not even a genuine award, just a ridiculous label meant to humiliate. The fact that it’s even taken seriously by some people is baffling, as it contributes nothing but negativity. In a space where feedback and improvement should be prioritized, the Steam Clown Award is just a senseless, juvenile distraction that serves no beneficial function.
Anyways... best saints row IMO, better than the second one... its GTA if your playing while on crack and acid
Better than any game I've played in the last 10 years but very unstable to the point it crashes every hour. Running max settings at 120fps and randomly drops to 10fps and freezes for several seconds every 10 minutes.
The game broke the rules of the GTA world in terms of madness and funny stupidity. It's an enjoyable, beautiful, and very funny game, especially when you play with your friends.
aints Row 3 cranks up the fun with over-the-top action and outrageous humor. The vibrant world and wild missions create a unique and unforgettable gaming experience!
Man. I wish companies still made games this big, this silly, and this tongue-in-cheek.
However, I will settle for people making games under 10 gb that are this big.
Will no longer launch unfortunately :(
When you find out that you’ll have to use DirectX 9 to get the game going (and other possible tweaks), you will have the time of your life.
Once upon a time, games were consistently like this where you can tell the developers had fun and poured loads of creativity into a game to keep the player engaged. I find myself constantly getting sidetracked from the main story as there are loads of side missions that will gain you cash and respect that you can use for your upgrades. Most missions are different and will often offer different challenges and environments to keep you guessing. The missions are never long, and the game is easy to pop in and out of.
You can customize your character, gang, weapons, vehicles, and abilities for those of you who find enjoyment in an easy grind for upgrades. I just recommend the damn game.
An absolute masterpiece of a game!
Developers, testers, designers, artists, writers, composers have come together to create a product, that I am proud to call not just a product, but a True Game in every sense of the word. This is how a game made out of love looks and feels!
There's already much more complex reviews out there than mine, in video or text format, which underline every aspect of the game, ranging from the development process to deep analyses on story and gameplay, however I cannot but mention some opinions of my own.
The humour is completely over the top, in the most positive way possible, and the absurdity of the events portrayed is simply hilarious, plenty of times managing to get chuckles out of the player. Of course that these are characteristics that define the entire franchise, but the third installment took it into a more unrealistic approach and I think it was the best of choices, this is exactly what the series needed, a breath of fresh air and relaxation; but I can totally understand the people who would've wanted the series to move in a more realistic direction too, all the while keeping the exaggeration, and I do think that is what the sequel should have done, transition progressively and combine both depictions. Because what is too much after all is, indeed, too much and that is why this series ends with this game for me.
I also found the writing to be pretty good and the gameplay satisfying. And it is surprisingly stable as well, so thorough testing has been performed, for which I am proud of, but of course, nothing is perfect...
It is also one of my childhood games, I was 9 when I first played Saints Row 3 at launch, and I must admit that some scenes made no sense to me as a child and so it was both funny and nostalgic to get through this game and actually finish it this time.
Thank you for reading!
An absolute masterpiece of a game!
Better in 2025 than any decade-plus-year old game this mindless has any right to be.
I really love this game, but i do not like how it got dumber and dumber......like Saints Row 3 was already like, on the edge of extreme stupid, i love it still, but then the DLC's and Saints IV really went balls deep.....maybe thats personal but suit yourself.

Horrible optimization like the rest of the saints row games. Do not buy this if you're not willing to get a headache from trying to run this.
Banger game, has its issues (bugs, especially in co-op) but the charm is greater than the issues presented
This is a really fun game that makes me think of Grand Theft Auto. Its use of firearms and gang rivalries creates a stimulating dynamic. Also, the plot is captivating and keeps you interested!
Saints Row such an underrated franchise of a game bruh. I've played this game in both PC and Console and i can never get tired of this game. i kept on coming back playing The first Saints row to Saints row Gat out of hell although Saints Row The Third and Saints Row 2 are my favourite. It's very GTA but unique in its own way and the story & quest are fun!
Highly recommend people to play it!
I love this game but it literally just stopped working for me. Played for 2 hours and tried to come back about a month later and now it just wont launch at all. I cant recommend anybody buy this in its current state.
A really good game! If you like GTA games, im sure you'll like this game aswell.
it plays fine until i close the game than wont start again without crashing its annoying
great silly fun! however definitely avoid the remastered version, it runs and looks like crap
This game is old but good, There are some bugs but are minor and not consistent through the game.
крутая игра! можно с ноги влететь женщине в лицо, рекомендую!
As someone who's never played any other Saints Row games, I'll start with the obvious: this is a GTA-style game, albeit very rough around the edges, with an extra helping of blue humour. It's impossible to ignore the comparisons to GTA, so instead of looking at Saints Row: The Third in a vacuum and giving a review entirely based on the game's own merits and flaws, I'll conduct this review as if through the lens of someone looking for a GTA alternative—which is closer to my actual experience and discovery of this game.
You know those posts where someone buys a used graphics card off eBay for a suspiciously low price, only to open the box and find a brick?
Well, Saints Row: The Third is kind of like that, but instead of a brick, it's a Game Boy Colour with Tetris. Initially, it's a bit of a letdown, but you were somewhat prepared for that, so you make the most of it, and almost immediately you realise you're having fun anyway. Despite that initial "WTF is this?" moment, you emerge surprisingly… triumphant.
SR3 evokes a response similar to the range of emotions you feel when, out of sheer boredom, you attempt one of those dodgy "life hacks" and it fails spectacularly. SR3 is like putting brownie mix in a coffee cup and microwaving it. You just know it's probably going to be terrible, but there's a tiny chance it might be okay, and if it turns out good, this could change your life. So you give it a shot and well... you expected it to be bad, and somehow it turned out even worse. But despite the burnt tongue and pangs of regret, it still kind of tastes… good?
This game embodies that feeling. Saints Row: The Third is Cake in a Cup.
By today's standards, SR3 may look and feel like it had a development budget consisting of misappropriated tuition fees and some Pogs that have been stuck between the couch cushions since the '90s, but it comes together into an enjoyable experience—one that clearly prioritises player enjoyment and fun factor.
SR3 is good, dumb fun, and it's even better with a mate. Grab it on sale if you're looking for some good laughs and a surprisingly entertaining experience.
All round good game except for the vehicle mechanics, specifically cars, those handle like absolute garbage.
I wish I was a women, my classmates made fun of me for playing as a women (with a BBL) in this game. Only if my wish came true....
14/12 marios.
Tried to download and play it but couldn't enjoy it with the constant stutter that occurred every ten seconds or so. It's a shame how many of these old games are unplayable and often times the remasters are just as bad or worse. A great game but you'd be better off buying an old console and playing it on console in my opinion unless they release a re-remaster that isn't buggy.
This is the last of the objectively good Saints Row games.
Past this, the series loses its identity. And loses it hard.
Even here, you can see it starting to slip away. Saints Row was never a wacky, goofy series before this. The original was grounded from front-to-back. Saints Row 2 was still majority grounded, with elements of wackiness sprinkled in from time to time. I loved the original, but the second game was simply superior to it, proving that a good Saints Row game didn't need to be entirely serious.
The Third ratchets up the wackiness to the point where it almost overshadows the serious side of the game. The Third still has seriousness, but it can chop and change at a moment's notice. Zombies, the gimp shootout, everything with Genki, et cetera. Unlike the first two games, this one seems almost juvenile. There's very little weight to it in terms of story. There's nothing like Carlos' death in 2, or Lin's in the original. The closest you get is Shaundi and Viola's death if you're a mong and choose to kill Killbane at the end.
And this isn't even touching IV or Gat out of Hell or that recent-ish, god-awful reboot that sunk Volition.
Despite the cheap humour, the juvenile attitude of the game as a whole and the general linearity compared to 2, at least, the game is still good and easily worth the money for it.
Game was ass I crashed like 5 times in the party time mission
but hey at least it had gat sort of....
Rest in Peace Volition. First divisive Saints Row game, but some of the most fun I've had from wasting my studying time.
I don't even know where to start with this game...
I guess to save trouble, This game was an amazing experience when it was first released and got better and better until SRIV came out, then things started going downhill for the entire series, and after "Saints Row" Dropped.. Well, I guess you can call it a burning memory now... In general, all the years of Playing SR3 were worth it, and I wish we could go back.
meh ok, i refunded it. not much to do. just play missions and recklessly drive like a drunk dad
5/10
I highly recommend this game, it's my personal favorite Saint's Row entry. I'd suggest trying out Saint's Row 2 but apparently it doesn't work that great at all. This entry takes a much more satiric approach to the series and is far better than Gat Out Of Hell and Saint's Row 4 and not to mention the absolute slop that the reboot was. My biggest complaint is not the game itself but rather the lack of mods, lots of potential still untapped. If you're looking for a decent GTA style game then this is a good option but I'd say you're like me and have played this already on console and is looking to buy on here anyways.
great combat. if you are in it for the story, so much happens off screen that it can be difficult to follow. the dlcs are better written than the story is. otherwise, the game can't take itself seriously and is quite fun.
Over-the-top chaos, absurd humor, and endless fun in an open-world playground. A great way to let loose and enjoy pure, ridiculous entertainment.
The story is trash compared to Saints Row 2.
The activities have zero back story (unlike in Saints Row 2).
The game has to be manually altered to even start.
The city is lifeless.
The humor is terribly childish.
A great game that I've kept in my heart since childhood (don't ask why my parents let me play this back then bruh these the same mfs that had me watch movies like The Crow or Half Baked)
The game is literally unplayable right now as it will say "Updating executables" for a while and then just close when trying to launch.
There are some supposed fixes online but none worked, sad.
amazing game and still in good quality
probably my least favourite game in the series (yes I would rather play the reboot over this) due to the customisation and art style being a lil weird and downgraded but my biggest issue is the bland ass map but the game is still somewhat good
The Third Saints row game....Overall a decent game, but I feel the more down to roots gameplay and story of the first two games are better and where this series started to lose itself.
Still recommend those who are fans of the series or those that want a not so serious kind of game.
its aight
Wish they could smooth the graphics out, but it is still a good game. Replaying it on PC remember this on my Xbox lots of time wasted in a good way.
Amazing main game and trouble with clones dlc. But the other dlcs were so bad and it kept crashing.
In my opinion, this game is even better than GTA 5. When I played the story mode of GTA 5, I was getting really bored, but Saints Row 3 genuinely entertained me. The non-serious style, action-packed missions, and the chaos in each mission really appealed to me. I know that many Saints Row fans didn’t like the game after Saints Row 2, but for me, Saints Row 3 is the best one in the series. If you're looking for a fun, non-realistic game with crazy, action-filled missions that are silly but exciting, then this game is perfect for you.
I would still recommend it but the humor feels a bit cringy today.
