I was about to give it a 100%
Was Chapter 14 when I was need to find 55k for my friend bruno.
First try I crash some car for the cash, but die before entering joe's house.
Second try I done shop because thats the second option they give you.
Ive done all chapter now , I Can't open door for this.
Yes i know ressetting suppose to fix but for me no.(only sell car 2nd)
and I wont do chapter a 3rd time.
I try to delete and use another save but i can't because the steamautocloud.vdf keep and keep spawning i can't delete it and can't find how to add a new saves that i found.

Wont recommend this to a friend since im so angry that I can't finish a game that for one time , I really enjoy.

Fixing your game isn't our job; the graphics and visuals crash whenever I try to play it.

great game but not on pc. DO NOT BUY UNTIL FIX. UNPLAYABLE. if you pass the slow mo cops after lock picking car which apparently has been a problem for 6+ years. once you get onto the next stolen car and get away half way the drive your game with start jittering and messing with graphics just to crash anyway lol they clearly don't care and just a money grab. sold them all on sale with so many issues unaddressed for too long..

For 2010 graphics, probably the best game. I love the story, the 1950's vibes the game gives.

Played an hour trying to get it to work..... Game looks fun and probably is. Does not work..... First game I have played that crashes or runs at 3 FPS... Just a bug.

Replaying the series to refresh myself for The Old Country.

What a game. The pacing of the story is flawed and the lack of side content is noticeable, but in every other way, Mafia II is exactly what it wanted to be. It was a revival of a dead series, now aiming to compete with GTA. And I can confidently say that it's near perfect in that way. This truly does rival the Grand Theft Auto titles of the era, and I'd say it mostly surpasses them, especially V.

4GB patch is necessary because the textures would flicker after a hour of gameplay and crash without it
alt tabbing the game too much would cause it to be stuck on a black screen for several minutes
atleast it has a stable framerate

dk why it says ive played for 12 hours but ive played for about 9 1/2 hours and im still only 60% through the main story. good game

My favourite Mafia Game

Too bad on my new pc it just bugs when the police wants to arrest you so sadly no replay :(

story and the gameplay was enjoyable but dlcs ruined my experience in mafia 2. I played joe's adventures on medium difficulty and it was a disaster. Missions makes you fight against clock and most of the missions took me multiple tries to complete. I will never forget the struggle and frustration I had when trying to deliver that limo with wanted license plates and 3 star shooting cops. Also bloom effect was brighter than my lamp. The game by default had flickering textures everywhere. Wouldn't be surprised if one got epilepsy from that. I fixed that with 3rd party software but it should have been fixed by devs. One hilarious thing, Derek's face expression and voice act didn't match together and was ridiciously bad in a good way. Can't forget that " Whot da fowk " in a low and even tone

One of the greatest single player experiences I've played in a decade. Quality, non-bloated, open world fun with a story and several plot twists that'll keep you involved like you never knew a game could.

As someone who loves Mafia as a genre this delivers everything I could've asked for, with all the tropes and action you'd expect from a game in the genre. Not sure if I can even say much more than that.

Unplayable. You have to play the Definitive Edition or play your old console copy.

There is a game breaking bug that Makes the game go into slow-mo mode forever when you steal the first car. The workarounds I found online did not work. The game also crashes constantly, like every 30 minutes on average, especially the first mission. I was just trying to get the Achievements for this broken mess, but its not worth the hassle.

The Game is amazing, just play the version that works. So the Console version. The Definitive edition is playable, but has quite a few bugs, and crashes about every few hours.

Mafia 1 was so so much better.
Here, you play as a brainless, emotionless dud of a guy, running around shooting people for no actual reason. You have a best friend who literally constantly gets you in trouble and you just go for it.
The main character is completely void of any personality, only does what he is told for no reason except because he was told it would be "no problem" but still always gets messed up.
You join a mafia family but you're not really in mafia, you just run around and do small jobs for anyone like a mercenary, and you collect playboy magazines like a horny teenager.
Actually there is nothing that feels like you're in a mafia this entire game.
If you want a good mafia game, play Mafia 1 remastered.

This game is a technical mess on modern systems, the first thing you'll be greeted with when you download the game is "Updating Executable" and a game that won't launch. You can try a few of the different fixes on the Community Hub with varying levels of success and eventually get it launched but even then you'll get crashes and bugs eventually

The solution to a get a game working that's being sold on Steam should not be trusting some random dudes google drive link, fix your game or don't sell it at all - especially when the Steam client no longer supports windows versions where it would work out of the box

The best experience for the original version of Mafia 2 is to play it on Xbox 360

Did not try the DE, but this worked perfectly fine for me, just use 4gb patch and cap the fps to 60. You could also try your luck with DE but this honestly looks just fine!

i came to write this review to let everyone know that it is an awesome and classic game. but like with almost every game i try to play now days from 2010 or before. i will stop playing it within the first few minutes, not by my choice. but because the game just simply is not optimized to run anymore on today's systems. makes replaying game so difficult when half of the time that could be spent progressing in the game is going to you trying to fix the game just so you can play it. another game i have to put to rest because unfortunately i give up with having to browse the internet for the right fix that may or may not even worse on my system. disappointing to say that least

This is a polished game with a good story. The combat isn't incredible but it is serviceable. This game can run on just about any grocery store potato, which I really appreciate. If you are looking for a solid game with a solid story, you won't be disappointed. This game is better than Mafia 3 in my opinion.

by removing 2K launcher from the game 2K somehow messed up the code of an abandonware title from 2010, do not waste your money and buy the game now, wait until its properly fixed or just pirate it

Phenomonal Game, Runs great and looks even better even though its over 10 years old. If you buy the definitive edition on sale like me, you'd get the classic edition and dlc as well. Def worth the purchase but dont bother playing the definitive edition. I couldn't even open the main screen without it crashing. The classic version is way better, runs good, looks good, and takes 1/4 of the storage space. The Dlc is kinda meh, but I might come back to beat it. Also the achievements are fun. Amazing main story btw. Def buy on sale. 10/10

I love this series, and all four protagonists so far (Joe's DLC is great). The classic version plays beautifully on my PC, and I'm still on 1650GTX

edit: restarted it today and had to download the GOG files... game's broken without that now. Link easy to find in community discussions, takes 3 minutes to download and drag files over to game folder

if youve never played this beauty of a game ... play it the game feels so alive the gameplay is alright even for todays standards the story is reaaaaally good the graphics still holds up pretty well to.
