The game is a brilliant game, however the pc version seems to freeze at times, this seems to cap at 30fps by default , i have an nvidia rtx 4080 super so i have the hardware to run it fine as its a 2006 game, id say xbox360 is the best place to play this
Very fun but crashes on a regular and not being able to skip cut scenes can be excruciating at times
Love this game. Probably my favorite game ever.
Port is nearly unplayable with crashes. Youll wind up doing missions multiple times. Dont give Rockstar any money. They dont need or deserve it.
i always see people play it but i never played it, it was very cool and fun you have to follow 1 objective in your school year beat a guy named "garry" you go to numerous parts. there are 6 parts, each part you have to get ppl on your side for a set of example, part 3 you form an alliance with the rich kids and basically be their leader and make your way up to beat up garry, surprisingly the side missions turned out way better then my expectations they were very different from each and another that's what made it interesting. i dont regret trying it, would definitely finish it somewhere in the future.
Great game! I enjoyed playing and getting 100%, but the crashes and bugs made for a really frustrating experience.
The game is unplayable as it is, but after applying several fixes (e.g. SilentPatch) and mission-specific fix found online, I was able to play it for hours without crashing and I was able to finish the game. Great Game! Enjoyed it a lot.
P.S.: Always save after every mission.
its a good game
but its technical issues its super annoying and "IT KEEPS CRASHING EVERY 30 MINUTES"
the game is pretty fun and entertaining because i get to harass a person at any age and shoot people with a slingshot while riding a skateboard.
good game. The story can be a bit boring and repetitive but the final chapter ends up saving this game. Also install SilentPatch Bully cause the game has a lots of crashes. Overall I'll give this game a 7/10
i miss bully, this is one of the most evergreen rockstar had ever created,i hope they will either make bully 2 or remake it
I did enjoy GTA games up 'till now--quite a lot in fact--but something always got in the way. The one I spent more time with was easily San Andreas but there were two things about it that saddened me:
#1 - Holy shit, a quarter of the missions are pure garbage. Not fun, at all. Absolute filler.
#2 - its scale is very commendable but give it fifteen hours and it's over, although not at all; every interesting thing has been done, and the game has run its course; yet, there's still a lot of it to get done with.
I understand I can't expect from it what I got from Breath of the Wild or the Witcher 3, but when Deus Ex had me a trillion times as immersed throughout its entirety, with much smaller maps, I believe the argument makes itself: not everything deserves its large scale.
Bully knew all this and I love it for it. It's very tongue in cheek in tone, sacrificing a fair chunk of realism and exchanging it for an elevated approach to lowbrow satire that more than made up for what was lost. Missions-wise, I enjoyed them all: some more than others, granted, but I can't, for the life of me, recall any piece of shit small planes or following trains. The smaller scale of the map also helped to make traversal a breeze (although that's the only thing the GTAs have over it; there's just nothing quite like driving around those massive areas at top speeds).
It's overall a much more polished time than San Andreas--which made the rare crash and glitch a bit more unfortunate, though never a dealbreaker. 8+ or 9- out of 10. Super fun.
+Unique setting for open world
+Utilizes the time system within the game really well
+Solid gameplay from GTA series that handly transfers to this gameplay
-Poor stability in the game
-Outdated choices hamper the game nowadays
-Far too reliant on QTEs in it’s mini games
Review:
Bully is a great example of taking an already existing game style and placing them into a new setting. Bully takes the game play of GTA and places into a high school setting that works. It uses the setting as an excuse to use the time settings to force a schedule which works really well but also gives enough leeway that you aren’t forced into the schedule. Bully is a good game but it can’t get away from it’s more outdated choices in gameplay and story especially with it’s over-reliance of outdated stereotypes and QTEs as well issues at leats on my PC with stability where it crashed far too often that it should.
7/10
Even though the game is clunky, crashes, and needs additional third-party patches to function properly, it provides a pretty fun, decent, and even quite unique gaming experience, an opportunity to touch a piece of game industry history.
Bully is a great game, Don't get me wrong but it constantly crashes at the worst moments, So if you intend on buying this game then you better get ready for constant crashing every thirty minutes, One hour if your lucky. Make sure to save your game every mission if not every other mission. It can get pretty darn annoying!
ever wanted to kiss teenage girls without getting in trouble? well now u can!!! But seriously this game is incredible i have been playing this game for years
It is a really good game. If you are playing on modern systems you need some mods. Even if you use mods this game have some problems. If you change the fps cap more than 30 some scenes doesnt work. You can get rid of this by using lossless scaling.
The Background score of this game is just outstanding the best work of rockstar so far
Despite the awful lot of crashes from the abnormally terrible port, this game is a masterpiece with excellent story and extraordinary soundtrack.
If we ignore the fact that I had to save after every mission and class, this game is a strong ten.
Rockstar has neglected making a sequel to this game and it saddens me and many other people.
This is one of the best games the company has ever made and it saddens me how they have focused on GTA V for the past 11 years with no prospect of a sequel ever coming out besides some leaked concept art dated AGES ago.
Get it, it's 100% worth it, genuinely the most fun Rockstar game to fully complete from start to end.
Also, really buggy, get the silent patch.
I didn't grow up on this game but had it whilst I was in college on the Xbox 360, playing this one really had that vibe of staying up late at night playing this when it's the weekend on a school week or even during half term or a longer school break or something.
It's fun to just run around and whatnot and you can really feel the nature of the environment played as a kid once the town opens up to you.
Although it ain't no GTA with stealing cars as you play as a child after all, roaming around in your bicycle and unlockable scooter is pretty fun.
Aside from the normal missions you get from the game, you also have to attend class which gives some fun minigames every now and then which some of which do test your skills, helping you to unlock stuff that can help you along the way.
There is a bit of a collectathon too of certain things you can find in all of town so the experience outside of the main plot is pretty entertaining.
The plot is a little intersting and characters can be pretty entertaining, however one of the characters you befriend from the start is very insufferable and you just wanna strangle him because of how much of a lil sh!t he is.
Great game. but crashes so much unless you go through the time to mod it through third party sources. which is so frustrating.
download the silentpatch mod on github as it has fixed my issues for now, and its easy to install. drag and drop into the bully folder.
Imagine Bart Simpson stumbling into simple version of Hogwarts[/] without a trace of magic, all wrapped in the gritty vibes of Mark Millar’s [i]Kingston. That’s roughly how Bully plays out.
The game truly finds its rhythm in the second part, with a more expansive world, new mechanics, and vehicles. Rockstar’s signature style is unmistakable—charismatic characters, sharp humor, and the kind of biting dialogue that will undoubtedly expand your personal lexicon of insults. Missions are typically short, so even though it’s often a formula of "beat, chase, escape," it never overstays its welcome. The brutal guitar-laden soundtrack is superb—no wonder it’s available for download, as the game’s description eagerly points out.
The atmosphere of a small town and a cloistered school is pitch-perfect. The addition of a theme park and the ability to swim felt like a revelation—the world suddenly opened up beyond the school walls, adding fresh layers to the experience.
Notice to save your game after every mission. This Steam version has a habit of crashing unexpectedly.
Nice game, when it's not crashing, which it does every 2-10 minutes. Utterly unplayable in its current state.
Bully is a very nostalgic game, the game is very goofy almost like a parody but it's still fun, the game is very bugy ranging from audio problems to fazing trough the walls and without the silent patch (a fan-made patch) the game crashes alot, there is alot of side missions and items you can collect, and main tasks are good but sometimes they get repetitive and very tedious. (6.5/10)
Bully: Scholarship Edition was released in 2008 for the computer. It shares some of the same problems i have talked about in my previous reviews on older games before, so i will get straight to the point; This game is, at least for me (on Windows 10 with a good machine) unplayable. I forced myself through 9 hours of gameplay always running back and saving hoping the game wouldn't crash out of nowhere again. The longest i could play for without a crash was an hour at most, but now finally, i have decided to give up on this game.
I don't usually like writing reviews on games i haven't finished, but the issue here is clear: it's not even the game itself that's the issue, it's the lack of support for it. I have tried everything i could find online to stop this game from crashing every 30 minutes but nothing worked. After some research online, i actually found out that the operating system itself is the problem here, which is ironic because on the store page it says that it works for and only with Windows 10. Yet it doesn't.
I get why they didn't update this. I know it's an old game and Rockstar was or is way too busy milking GTA Online to ever fix or update their old gems. Which is sad because Bully itself is a great game and i am sure i would have more fun with it if it worked properly. For now though, i am done. If you find yourself wanting to play Bully, get an emulator to play it, or if you somehow find a real copy for a real console or are still running an older version of windows, then get those. Don't buy this on Windows 10 it wont work. This is a widely known issue but Rockstar is too ignorant to fix it. Maybe one day when there is some way this game works, or Rockstar updates it (which wont happen) i will return. But for now, i give up. I rate it a 4, which is kind and speaks volumes about how great this game actually is despite the fact that it wont work.
Final Score: 4/10
Game always crashing and is unplayable, no auto-save and had to restart playing some shit ass missions
so Bad I play it and crash/Force Close plss fix it
It doesn't function as intended. Crashes consistently within first few minutes of gameplay. Unplayable.
Has an interesting story, iconic soundtrack and immersive gameplay(except the consumo quest that's fucking torture) but definetly shows its age, especially with graphics and enviroments. I don't have any crashing issues with Proton on Linux Mint and the game seems to run well though there are some lag spikes here and there. I really wish that Rockstar would come back to this game and make it a series rather than abondoning it to it's fate like that.
The game seems great, really great. BUT, it crashed every time I play it for more than 5 minutes. I completed only the 2% of the game and I had to play 3 hours since I had to play the same freaking part more than three times! I installed the SilentPatch, changed the settings of the .exe and everything that Youtube shows, but it still consumes more than 11Gb of my RAM and runs at 30 FPS only.
Game is great, but just pirate it. You shouldn't need mods to run 1080 60 fps. It crashes every 20-30 minutes. People complain about the GTA Definitive Editions but THIS is a broken game.
a solid translation of the original PS2 game. It gives a little extra, but is at its core the same game. Though it has some limitations, particularly in the lack of depth of the social structure, there are many other great aspects to enjoy. And really, there is no other game like Bully on 360. If you haven't figured it out yet, Bully is a great game. Go out and buy it, you won't regret the purchase.
This game has definitely shown its age, but that aside, I wish Rockstar put more love into the Bully series. There's something hilarious about living the life of a delinquent highschool student, a good formula for dumb stuff to happen. One of my favourite parts is getting one or two sucker punches on a hall monitor before triggering a cutscene to avoid being chased down by the rest of security XD
Edit: Don't be surprised if you are experiencing instability issues, especially on Windows 11. It would be recommended to search up some workarounds to get this game working properly.
Good game for its time. But for modern systems you'll need some mods to make it run better.
