I love games of this genre, but sadly YCNS is unplayable in it's current state.
The most basic of features, being selecting, reloading and firing weapons is simply broken. The keys and mouse button controls just simply stopped working and refused to respond unless I quit and restarted, but then they stopped working very quickly again.
If it wasn't for my AI team mates, I'd have been overrun in seconds. But then they chew through ammo much quicker than it's replenished, so ultimately the game would be short-lived. The radar is very confusing, showing Z's which don't exist, and then jarringly having Z's respawning within view. (I'm running ultra wide-screen, so perhaps the game doesn't handle that)
During the brief period that my weapons did work (how hard is implementing that, sheesh?!), they were ineffectual and gave little feedback that I was actually involved in the fight. In fact, it was better simply giving my ammo to the AI. And no, my aim isn't that bad lol! It would help if my shots sound louder than the AI, and Z's recoil more from my hits so I feel I'm actually adding value.
On the positive side, the game looks good, and I hope to change my review in time, but for now I recommend people stay clear until the game matures.

Ok game, but first of all need some SERIOUS balancing.
Terrible gameplay and graphycs.
What you see in the trailer, is exactly what you get.
You shoot zombies and loot things, with a squad!
Enjoying the game, simple and relaxing.

Really enjoyable system, at the current stage feels alot like SAS Zombie assault 4 which is fine by me.
You can definitely tell it's early access in regards to both bugginess and content but seems promising.
10/10 would buy again and hope development continues as more content+possibly multiplayer to replace the buggy ai it would be a definite improvement
Just got this game, and its not all that bad. Yes, there bugs and glitches(expect that from early access) from loading from one area to another. the zombie are a bit too fast in the first couple areas, maybe thats just what the developer wants. Sometimes, the characters can get stuck in certain areas like trees.
Overall, its a cool game and hope the developer(s) keep adding more cool stuff too it! :)
All fare and square, what you see in video preview is exactly what you get, but fun and interactive!
Nice graphics, Great gameplay!
Overall looks very promising.
Some minor bugs happen here and there, but the author is very responsive and keeps on fixing them.
Most importantly - the game is fun to play already!
Does it worth it's price? Hell yes!
really fun game for the unity ( as optimization can be difficult). I rather enjoy the game its difficult but has adjustment settings, a great top down zombie\boss shooter with random loot (dont know how much yet) and upgrading of all your weapons and gear. for the price its unbeatable really enjoying it thus far so its just an opening review as it is in alpha hopefully more updates will come they seem to be so far so it looks good:) def buy for the price
- Hit detection is way off at this point
- The running animation will likely bring on an epileptic seizure (jittery)
- The guns need to have better sound
- Damage to zombies wasn't satisfying
- The AI is horrid at the moment, the zombies and your squad
I love top down shooters, fix these things and I like what you have started and will quickly change my score.
I was fortunate enough to play this game in demo form. As soon as I found this game on the "coming soon" category I wanted it. I really enjoyed the concept, the gameplay, and the Dev's attention to detail. The game is well worth the price. It reminds me of an RPG with guns. The dude is constantly updated the demo with new stuff, so I think this game will be a must have if you like spending time murdering zombies.... and who don't like blowing zombies away with shotties?
