OVERVIEW

About the Game

Death Is Not an Escape.
Trapped forever in a realm of eldritch evil where even death is not an escape, four determined Survivors face a bloodthirsty Killer in a vicious game of nerve and wits. Pick a side and step into a world of tension and terror with horror gaming's best asymmetrical multiplayer.
Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey.
The Survivors' goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer - something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.
Key Features
• Survive Together… Or Not - Survivors can either cooperate with the others or be selfish. Your chance of survival will vary depending on whether you work together as a team or if you go at it alone. Will you be able to outwit the Killer and escape their Killing Ground?
• Where Am I? - Each level is procedurally generated, so you’ll never know what to expect. Random spawn points mean you will never feel safe as the world and its danger change every time you play.
• A Feast for Killers - Dead by Daylight draws from all corners of the horror world. As a Killer you can play as anything from a powerful Slasher to terrifying paranormal entities. Familiarize yourself with your Killing Grounds and master each Killer’s unique power to be able to hunt, catch and sacrifice your victims.

• Deeper and Deeper - Each Killer and Survivor has their own deep progression system and plenty of unlockables that can be customized to fit your own personal strategy. Experience, skills and understanding of the environment are key to being able to hunt or outwit the Killer.
• Real People, Real Fear - The procedural levels and real human reactions to pure horror makes each game session an unexpected scenario. You will never be able to tell how it’s going to turn out. Ambience, music, and chilling environments combine into a terrifying experience. With enough time, you might even discover what’s hiding in the fog.
WARNING: PHOTOSENSITIVITY/EPILEPSY SEIZURES - READ THIS NOTICE BEFORE PLAYING

Cancer. Toxic community, terrible balancing, and it isn't really scary except for like a few things.
Credit where credit is due, it's unique, but the overall fun you'll get in the end is approximately zero except for maybe the first few hours of gameplay.
I'm not quite sure where to start when it comes to composing a game review, so it could be all over the place or reveal very little. I suppose I could start off by saying dbd was the type of game I never imagined I'd be able to make friends on, but to my surprise, I ended up meeting some of the kindest souls who’ve come to feel like lifelong friends (not that I’m implying every person you meet is going to come across this way, sometimes it’s best to keep your guard up if the feeling feels…wary).
As a newcomer though, playing dbd for the first couple of times may feel overwhelming, but do keep in mind there’s plenty of streamers out there you could look into who can help better your understanding of the game. You might even find yourself feeling a lot more knowledgeable compared to the tutorial dbd offers, which isn’t entirely helpful imo.
I think one important takeaway to keep in mind is to not take every match seriously, as you will undoubtedly lose some, which is okay! It’s not the end of the world, although there will be people on here who will make it seem as such. xD
For the time being, I’d still recommend dbd as something to dive into, as it does have the potential to be fun at times.
Most unbalanced game tbh. They just keep adding new killers with 50 million extra perks outdating every fucking old perks, characters and killers. Maybe balance your game before you add more shit.
This game masquerades as a casual experience when in reality the average player probably hasn't touched grass in months. A sacrifice of the majority of your sanity is required to play. 10/10
i played this for 3 hours in 2021 and i thought it was the most ass game i'd ever played and i wished i refunded it. fast forward me 2025 im stackin lots of cheese and makin money my grass is really green and honestly i cant even cap rn i'm so addicted and it's made me actually have fun after 4 miserable years of playing valorant, it's different from every other game i've played and it's been so fun learning ♡
If I had enough self respect to stop playing this game, I would. However, I don't and play dbd daily.
If you hate yourself, you should get this game.
This review is for those considering starting Dead by Daylight.
First things first: the game’s concept is excellent for casual players. It’s constantly updated, with new content every few weeks. You can treat it as a quick pick-up-and-play experience, or sink thousands of hours into it - it’s as shallow or as addictive as your preferences allow.
That said, the learning curve is steep. While the core gameplay is simple and there aren't many interactable elements, the depth comes from its variety. As of writing this, there are over 40 killers and 127 killer perks, which means learning dozens of playstyles and counterplay strategies.
On the flip side, there are 46 survivors with around 150 perks. Again, lots of combinations to experiment with or master.
Most perks can be unlocked through play or purchase. But don’t expect a quick grind. Even after 1000 hours, you may not unlock everything. Some perks are also locked behind paid DLCs(not a complaint, just a fact).
Here’s the twist: despite the wide variety, once you climb the matchmaking ranks, you'll notice a pattern. Only a few killers dominate the meta, and only a handful of survivor perks are commonly used.
And the community? It’s the full internet zoo. You’ll meet incredibly kind, wholesome players—but they’re the minority. Most matches involve someone sandbagging, throwing the game, or verbally melting down over a single mistake.
You’ll see people building their real-life identities around this game.
You’ll see how deeply some crave digital victory.
You’ll see content creators whose "amazing" fans may harass you.
You'll see that some players seem to log in purely to annoy others.
And yes, you’ll see both blatant and subtle cheaters—and it might take BHVR a while to act.
But despite all of this… I still play it. Is it worth it? I don't know.
I cannot stop playing this game, I've been stuck playing it days and days. My life doesn't have any other purpose then playing this game EVERY SINGLE DAY. I'm addicted now. PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK OF LOSING YOUR SOUL.
this game is so fucking toxic. the community is so fucking trash id rather run across circular 1 by 1 lego pieces that are so small they get embedded into your foot and have to be surgically removed than play this game. 10/10 i am still playing gotta get to p 100
Dead by Daylight is not a game. It is a cosmic punishment sent by indifferent gods to remind humanity of its insignificance. Booting it up is like willingly inserting your face into a malfunctioning wood chipper. Nothing makes sense. Hitboxes defy physics. Perks do not function unless you chant in Latin. Killers phase through walls like demonic glitches. Survivors collapse into puddles of incompetence the moment a heartbeat sounds. Every match is a dissertation in disappointment, a Shakespearean tragedy written by drunken raccoons on fire. You don't play Dead by Daylight you endure it, like a prisoner endures solitary confinement, counting the cracks in the wall until madness becomes your only friend. Updates break more than they fix, a perpetual motion machine of failure. Pallets fly away into the sky. Generators burst into flames because a moth sneezed on them. Flashlights either stun the killer or open a black hole on the map, no in between. Queue times feel longer than the lifespan of stars> And the reward for surviving? More blood points so you can suffer again. again. and again. This game has personally lowered my IQ. My dreams are skill checks now. MY hands tremble when I hear the Entity's noise. If Dante had Known about Dead by Daylight, there would have been a Tenth Circle of Hell and This would be the only thing playing. I would rather be forced-fed glass by a rabid moose than ever install this corrupt, festering, soul-devouring,sadness-engine ever again. Dead by Daylight isn't a horror game. Its a warning. A cursed artifact. It is a scream into the void and the void screams back.
the most unbalance game i have ever play so many people using soft cheats and the deves do nothing to fixes these issues makes the new killer over powered of 2 -3 days so people buy them then nerf them into the ground the deves are just money hungry people who can balences the game dont care about there player bases its dieing game with no improvement in the future
remember when Behaviour actually cared about their players? when Dead By Daylight didn’t feel punishing no matter which side you played? when this game was actually good?
yeah, me neither.
since 2016, Behaviour has done very little to improve the quality of life in this game. instead, they’ve kept adding features nobody asked for. if you had asked me last year, I would've said I was excited to see a Canadian studio making a name for themselves. now? not anymore.
there’s still no real punishment for survivors who disconnect mid-match, killers who slug entire teams for no reason, or people who blatantly cheat. the community is one of the most toxic I’ve ever encountered. after all the hours I’ve put in, friendly interactions are few and far between, aside from the friends who got the game before I did. every mistake you make as a survivor feels amplified. and if you’re playing killer? don’t even think about doing your job. hook a survivor and you’ll get called “toxic,” “tunneller,” or worse, just for playing the game.
if you’re thinking about picking this up when the FNAF chapter drops, do yourself a favour and watch some gameplay first.
I regret not just buying this game, but spending money on stupid skins for characters I’ll never play again in a game I’ll never return to.
Dead by Daylight is super fun and quite addictive! I love the excitement of each match, whether I’m playing as Killer or Survivor, and it’s even more fun with friends. The only downside is that some players can be a bit toxic towards beginners, but other than that, the game is great and really entertaining!
This game is no longer made for the casual player. Not only have they made the killers faster in recent years, but they have made the survivor perks more useless. And now they have made the maps smaller. It used to be that we had a chance with a coordinated casual foursome to get someone to escape. Now we are lucky to get even a couple generators completed. If you have anything less than a competitive level foursome, you will not enjoy this game or expect to win with any amount of frequency.
Used to play this game for fun. Now I mainly play it because I hate myself and I deserve the suffering :)
I have a love hate relationship with this game but I still play it. Solo queue is cool sometimes and other times it's dreadful. Playing SWF can be fun but might become sweaty. I have a lot of friends who play it so I keep coming back. I do like the killers and perks along with the cosmetics.
I am only writing this review because I feel like randomly completing tasks for my profile badge achievements, I am just exploring and learning steam.
Things good about this game:
1. Interacting with friends (mobile did the same)
2. Lots of nice cosmetics (more than mobile, but mobile was easier in obtaining them)
3. 2v8 (super fun and discourages camping tunnelling somehow)
4. Lots of maps and RNG pallet and vault spawning
Things bad about this game:
1. Skill based match making (mobile did ranking system)
2. No in game communication (mobile did better)
3. Difficult to gain iridescent shards (mobile did better)
4. No free auric cells per prestige level (mobile did better)
5. Difficult to find SWF (mobile did a public chat system and that was how I found many good friends, and some toxic ones but that's beside the point)
6. Lack of bot match (for free and easy playing, no meeting competitive toxic players, mobile did better)
7. Mobile did a gacha system every week (1st week Feng and Clown, 2nd Ace and Wraith, 3rd Kate and Susie), in which mobile gave free daily sinister stones as currency for the gacha, providing many new cosmetics for all players)
8. Blood web only gives 1 character the items and offerings (mobile gave any character the items that were purchased)
As you can see the number of bad points in comparison to good points.
Casual play has died. Every survivor squad as killer feels like a bully squad and every survivor game feels like a sweaty tournament.
The game itself is really fun once you get a hang of it and for the longest part, the developers were comparatively supportive and showed passion as well. With the recent "Quality of Life" changes however, the devs sucked out all the life of the game and transformed it into a mobile game cash grab.
It saddens me to see the game that I once loved become this anti-consumer and remake its design to another Fortnite schlop
Change the UI, Rarity Colours and tome archives back. The playerbase does not want the Enshitification you want for the game.
I love this game but it is in such a terrible state right now, almost unplayable. The devs promised to focus on quality of life update this year but have focused on the completely wrong aspects of the game rather than fix baseline mechanical issues that the community has been plague by for years. This game is Asymmetric which means balancing should be the most important aspect. Unfortunately, the devs focus on "improvements" no one asked for that do nothing to help balance their game other than rely on new perk releases to fix systemic issues that require a change to mechanics. High end pc here with constant crashes since new update. Not worth buying.
Great game sadly the community is fillled with disqusting subhumans that have no clue about how to play this game whatsoever
I have passive death wish in the past 2-3 years ago and this game help me. I can die multiple time a day. Sometime i escape just to go back at the start. * I tries my best to do gen and help teammates escape, btw *
Lately, my mental health get better because I changed my environment so I didn't addict to this game like i used to but I still love and I'll play this game every now and then.
I thank you for the existence of this game. thank you so much.
The game is headed in downhill direction and its been like this for over a year now. If its not blatantly obvious to you now, i suggest getting some contacts and eye drops but its as clear as day, the devs favor survivor players. There is nothing for killers base kit, but survivors have base kit borrowed time and can unhook themselves if the killer tries to confirm a kill by camping within 16 meters of a hook. the objective for survivors is to repair generators to power the exit gates, open the exit gates and escape the trial, the killers objective is to sacrifice the survivors to the entity via hooking. but every single update that comes out the devs make it so that you literally cannot stop survivors from escaping. If you get genrushed theres no counter play to that, even if you run 4 gen slow down perks. if you put survivors together in a coordinated competent team and they have some experience, and are running 16 meta perks you literally cannot complete your objective as killer. the devs are adding in the abandon option to hand hold survivors who dont want to play and punish the killer for just existing . if survivors abandon they dont get penalized or lose MMR and if the killer abandons when all the survivors DC and become bots, they lose MMR as if they did something wrong. the match should literally just end if all survivors DC, i dont see why the hell we are rewarding people for not wanting to play the game. and lets not forget the fact that houndmaster and twins are STILL bugged, twins has been in the game for forever now and she is STILL unplayable, if you use victor and latch on to a survivor you can get permanently stuck spectating the survivor and you cant move or do anything besides just watching them do the gens and leave..... oh and let me mention something that people arent talking about enough, CHEATERS IN THIS GAME ARE ABLE TO HOLD YOU HOSTAGE AND DDOS YOU. and yet nothing has been done to help. Cheaters can INSERT themselves into your game so even trying to lobby dodge them doesnt matter at all. AND the cheaters have like 100 accounts so if you ban one or block one they will just swap accounts and come troll some more. Partnered streamers are forced to eat 30min-1h long dc penalties if they face cheaters and have to end their streams early because they literally cannot do anything. theres way too many problems with this game right now for me to be able to recommend to anyone,
Fanbase sucks but the love and care poured into every facet of this game keeps me coming back again and again even across systems
if you enjoy the idea of bashing your head into a wall over and over again until it finally breaks and you walk through it and then theres another wall that you have to bash your head into and you keep going through this cycle until you pass out and then wake up and do it again, youd love this game.
Do not buy if you live in a country without a dedicated server. This was one off my all time favourites when it was peer to peer (survivor and killer) but I can no longer enjoy the game as the ping diff to the server is too high. This is sad because it was so easy to make friends in the game and playing on weekends was a blast.
Im tired of this game. Every new patch the killer is always broken. Why do PTB even exist then??? Not only does he CONSISTENTLY get hits like this with no LOS and zero wind-up (the mouth icon appeared on my body AFTER the hit already registered) But he can even hit you through vaults and pallets you have cleared by several feet while he is still on the other side of it. If this is a projectile attack, make it actually look like one and give it a wind-up so survivors don’t feel constantly cheated playing against him. If it’s not, then these hitboxes need to GO.
But noy only that... the weird portion of the community that only want to ruin the experience for others and that strong killers and coordinated SWF will always ruin perks and mechanics for everyone else. as long as the top 10% exists, the game will never feel balanced for the rest of the population.
This is a new account but i played this game on and off since i discovered it back in 2018, great game if you don't care about the toxic community and its constant whining about anything and everything for both sides.
I'm writing this review not to criticise the game's mechanics or bugs, but rather to speak about the community. Sadly, my experience with it has reached a point where I can no longer recommend the game. Here's why:
Recently, I played a match as killer. I was up against a premade with both console and PC players. I’ll admit, I let my ego take over and played a sweaty match. In the end, I got a clean 4K, and not a single gen was completed. But I didn’t tunnel or camp. I played fair, took chases as they came, and didn’t give them much room to breathe.
After the game, I found out one of the survivors was a small Twitch streamer. So I thought I’d check her out, curious to see the match from her POV.
What I found was disheartening...
The two PC players were in her live chat insulting her, saying she was terrible and shouldn't be streaming at all. But in truth, she and her friend (the other console player) actually performed better than the ones throwing insults. she gave me more of a chase, lasted longer, and were clearly putting effort into the match. But they treated her horribly.
I felt bad after that, so I followed her channel and joined the live chat. I let her know that I was the killer in that game and said sorry if I played a bit too hard. To my surprise, she was really friendly and thanked me for the match. She said she had fun, and you could tell she meant it. She had such a kind and cheerful vibe, and even though she lost, she stayed positive.
What really got to me was how she dealt with everything. Even while they were insulting her, she stayed calm, kind, and kept a positive attitude. She didn’t get angry or fight back. You could tell she was just trying to have fun and enjoy the game with her friend. She didn’t deserve to be treated like that at all.
It was honestly upsetting to see. She seemed like a young scouse girl, maybe 16 or 17 years old, just streaming for a bit of fun. She only had 39 followers and two people watching, and yet even in that small space, she was getting hate for no good reason. It felt really unfair, and it stuck with me.
I take full responsibility for playing a tough match. But I didn’t tunnel. I didn’t camp. I played as fairly as I could. What wasn’t fair was the way she was treated by those PC players.
I’ve been playing Dead by Daylight since it first came out. My Steam profile only shows 69 hours, but I’ve spent a lot more time on console. Over the years, I’ve seen both the good and bad sides of the community. There have been some really nice, positive moments. But there have also been times like this, where someone kind ends up getting hurt for no real reason.
If you’re going to play, it’s best to team up with friends. But if you’re playing alone, just be careful out there.
its good, but its ass, it will eat ur mentalhealth and it is highly addictive. 10/10
With 2500 hours across console and PC, I’ve seen just about everything Dead by Daylight has to offer. And frankly, it’s been a frustrating experience.
Dead by Daylight is run by a team of developers who seem completely disconnected from their own game. They rely on statistics instead of community feedback and clearly don’t play the game themselves. Changes and new content are often implemented with little regard for balance, resulting in game-breaking bugs or clear advantages for one side—either killers or survivors.
Map design is atrocious, and the fact that map offerings exist at all proves the developers know this.
Cheaters are rampant despite the use of EAC, and BHVR does absolutely nothing about it. You will either go against full rage-hacking cheaters who are completely aware they will most likely not get banned, or subtle cheaters who will make you doubt your own skill.
The community is notoriously toxic—full of players who’d rather complain about your playstyle than improve. Chases quickly turn into blame games, and you’ll often find yourself dealing with people more interested in ruining your experience than playing the objective.
The servers are unreliable, leading to random disconnects with messages like “Dedicated server is not responding.” Worse, the game punishes you for this with matchmaking bans, no matter how long they last. It’s unfair and infuriating.
Matchmaking is horrendous. Patch 5.2.0 replaced rank-based matchmaking with skill-based matchmaking—one of the worst decisions BHVR has ever made. Before, lobbies were relatively balanced. Now, it’s either a complete stomp or you’re hopelessly outmatched. And sometimes, it’s not even your fault—the game is just too buggy.
Survivors completely control the pace of the game. They can hide endlessly and hold the game hostage, with zero tools in place to prevent it. It’s happened to me, and it will eventually happen to you.
Perks are not balanced, and the game leans into pay-to-win. Meta perks give you a significant advantage, and many are locked behind DLC characters. You can win without them—but you’re clearly at a disadvantage if you don’t pay.
Instead of fixing the many issues plaguing the game, BHVR focuses on pumping out overpriced skins. Their priorities are clear: money over quality. This is made worse by region-locked cosmetics like the Junji Ito collection. These were promoted heavily across all their platforms—but once released, players in regions like China, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, and Hungary found that they couldn’t use what they paid for. No refunds, no warnings. Just corporate silence.
Ultimately, Dead by Daylight has become a game that prioritizes profit over the player's experience and you're better off spending your money on a game that actually delivers fun and satisfaction, and respect for your time and dedication.
TL;DR:
Dead by Daylight is a frustrating game plagued by poor developer decisions, unbalanced gameplay, rampant cheaters, toxic players, and unreliable servers. The shift to skill-based matchmaking has made matches either too easy or unfair, and the focus on paid cosmetics over fixing core issues is evident. The game prioritizes profit over player experience, making it a frustrating and disappointing experience for many.
Hi there~
I just absolutely love this game! The characters models are beautiful.❤️ Maybe it's not 100% balanced, but to be honest. What game is really?
Although this new killer right now is broken as hell. He drives me bonkers!😂 Laughing but really serious. Some of the maps could use a few more windows and or pallets.
The hit box feels a little scratchy.😅 It's okay though, it's not the worst. The best thing though, that makes this game really fun is friends! Also killers with a sense of humor and not have to go beast mode. RIP us survivors~. But nonetheless, I want to thank anyone who still makes this game a treat.❤️
Soapy💕
This game is absolute trash. It's full of sweaty tryhards. The balance is non-existent, and every match feels like a clown show. Teammates play like they've never touched a keyboard and mouse in their lives. Save your sanity—skip this one
So... in the last two years, I have spent nearly 900 hours in Dead by Daylight. That's 37 days of my life. Several full Netflix series binges. A small vacation. Time I could have spent learning another language, mastering an instrument or re-learning the violin, or even developing meaningful human relationships. Instead, I chose to run in circles around pallets while being tunneled by 14-year-olds.
Why? Because I stream, and apparently, some people in my chat would like to see me suffer. This game is like a toxic ex. You know it's bad for you. Your friends tell you it's bad for you. But then the matchmaking ends, and suddenly you're back in the fog, crouching inside a bush while a Huntress moonwalks past me, like the ghost of Michael Jackson possessing a lag switch.
Fantastic idea to add Ken, by the way. Being bitten through walls is brilliant! He really likes the crunch of it all. The amount of times I run into bugs has definitely decreased over these past two years, too. I'm never randomly unable to use one of my perks or stuck in one animation for no reason whatsoever (that's sarcasm). Once, a hacker floated away with me like on a hot air balloon. I guess that counts as exciting and new.
I also love getting toxic messages in the endgame chat, especially in a language I, and many others, don't speak. Get everyone as a killer? Tryhard. Get looped? GG ez. Teammate doesn't unhook you? That's just your average Feng. Just a few days ago, my teammate left me at the altar and got replaced by a bot, who then promptly decided to teabag in front of me and run off without healing me. I think they've done a pretty good job so far in recreating the average DBD player.
And yet, here I am, playing this game with my trusty +1 that got me into this mess in the first place. At least he makes up for his sins by dying on hook for me. And sometimes, just sometimes, we even get a cool match, where Wesker stays with me in bed in Ormond, or we gather by the fireplace and do a little dance to appease the entity. Or survivors don't try to flashbang me every five seconds.
Would I recommend this game?
No.
Will I play another 100 hours?
Yes.
Do I need help?
Please.
Thanks for coming this far. You'll see me in the queue in 7 minutes.
Its 4am at night and I need to get this thing of my chest. I don't usually write books in my reviews but bare with me for a moment.
I've played so many games with some of most toxic most hated most degenerate people in the so called "Gaming Universe". We know that 100% of competitive games will have built-in mechanics to make people feel emotional at times. In this case it's me playing the nurse.
I also want to mention that the newly released "Ghoul" is not on nurse's lvl. However I do think he is more beginner friendly and stronger than the rest of the killers. Moving on.
As a p20 myers main that has quickly learned to how play the strongest killer in the game, it is verbally impossible to get away from having insults thrown at you after every post-game lobby as the nurse. Truth be told not everyone can pilot her correctly, having said that, she is still the strongest and always will be.
I started playing her 24/7 since the start of the newly released "Blood Moon" event. Which btw is still better than the regular dbd gamemode, how do you people keep playing that all the time? w.e
The purpose of me busting out the nurse every game is to make sure I speedrun my way to prestige 1 on all of my characters. By "speedrunning" I DO NOT mean tunneling. Like it or not I am always playing for 4 kills. Having said that if you blind me 3 times in a row, then I have an excuse. ALSO why are we making up words to sh*t on killers? "restarted slugger" "cringe slugging tw*t". Is a killer supposed to ignore the two flashlight holding survivors (with sprint burst) that are waiting for you to pick up the downed survivor, instead of going for them directly? Like what are we even doing? Yeah let me just pretend you're not there, lol.
Enough yapping from my side. Why am I even typing this in the first place? To tell you that these people not only privately insult me on my only social media platform, they also find out who my family members are and harass them too. Like how terrible of a person do you have to be?
Will happily stay away from this community for a while. Game itself as a killer is fine, solo queue as a survivor is mental torture. 4/10
Loop the killer once and they'll just tunnel you out and cry about you "abusing loops", other than that it's decent.
Just stay away from this dog shit game. Killers just gonna hit you through walls with power and Behavior dog ass wont fix cause "oh mr kenkai lemme suck ur dick mr tokyo ghoul fandom."
This game has wrecked my soul. New players beware of the harsh learning curve required to survive. This community is one of the most toxic communities ever. Give it a try tho
This game is horribly balanced due to the incompetent developers not knowing how to design fair gameplay. Kaneki is the latest example of this trend. They give him an overloaded kit that makes near impossible to outrun: 2 leaps that cover insane distance, a point-click hit-scan move that can hit through WALLS and OBJECTS and empowers you to get EVEN MORE mobility. I thought Blight was bad, but this new killer is even worse. At least with killers with high mobility like wesker, you can attempt to outplay by dodging his dash, but since BEhavior decided to give Ghoul an overloaded kit that deludes his playerbase into thinking they're good at the game. I'm just waiting till BEhavior nerfs this garbage and the Ghoul mains realize they are not good at the game and will drop Kaneki the moment more than 2 brain cells will be required to pilot him.
It seems the developers don't play their own game any longer to know what's good for it, nor able to listen to those who still care...
Dead by Daylight is a textbook example of how to ruin a game with massive potential by leaning fully into FOMO-driven monetization. Everything revolves around time-limited events, battle passes, and endless cosmetics. You’re constantly pushed to log in “right now” or risk missing out — and the devs know it. Fixing bugs? Balancing perks? Improving matchmaking? Nah. Better to drop another skin.
And that matchmaking? Pure chaos. As killer, you often get thrown against full SWF sweat squads while you're running beginner perks. Playing survivor? Either you get a coordinated team — or three randoms who think the game is a bunny skin fashion show.
The community is unbelievably toxic. Play killer fairly? You'll get teabagged at every pallet. Play seriously? Suddenly you’re a “dirty camper” and you’ve got hate messages in your inbox like you just committed a war crime. And solo queue as survivor? Actual hell. Half your teammates can’t hit skill checks if their life depended on it, crouch in corners the whole match, and ignore hook rescues because they’re too busy looting chests. No communication, no coordination — and if you somehow manage to survive, you’ll still get blamed in endgame chat for “not helping the team.” You just can’t win, no matter who you play.
Dead by Daylight isn’t a horror game — it’s a stress simulator with a horror skin. And as long as monetization is prioritized over actual gameplay quality, nothing’s going to change.
Recommended only for masochists and those who enjoy being constantly disappointed.
Addicting, toxic, extremly questionable developers, amazing core game design but so many terrible game design choices ontop of it and predatory marketing. However, pretty fun, especially with friends. Hating dbd is a core part of playing dbd. it is what it is.
An absolutely godawful, unbalanced mess that gets worse with each update and added killers. The game blatantly favors the killer by buffing all of their perks while nerfing all of the survivors perks. Though the worst part by is that there is absolutely no punishment for exclusively going after one survivor while deliberately ignoring the others (Tunneling). The player base on both the survivor and killer side are completely toxic and generally unpleasant.
Even if these issues are at some point fixed i still wouldn't recommend this game as the developers would probably find a different way to ruin it.
Dead by Daylight is an absolute disaster. The matchmaking is a joke, putting you in games with people who are way better or worse than you, making everything feel unfair. The servers are trash constant lag, crashes, and disconnects make the game nearly unplayable. The devs only care about adding overpriced skins instead of fixing the broken perks, bugs, and major balance issues that make the game frustrating. The community is toxic, and the devs don’t seem to do anything about it. The game is a mess, and it’s clear they don’t give a damn about improving it.
New killer is unbalanced as everything in this game, gg
New blood moon kaneki event is even worse xDDD
I never write reviews but tf is this new killer, im a fan of tokyo ghoul myself but this game make me hate kaneki, i dont wanna see him anymore. Every game i play against some anime freak that play as him is just a tunneling/camping machine. I'm a killer main myself (ghosty) but i prefer to make a day for other survivors and it makes my day too. Of course i have matches that i play normally but i dont camp like a pussycat or tunnel like im in a scoobydoo show. If player wants to have a chill game, i give them a chill game, if not i play normally, thats it. Why being so serious about it. Everyone that cry because they didnt get 4k EVERY match just need to touch some grass and maybe find friends or just go pet a cat, find some happiness in your life. Dont be a sweaty annoying ass that nobody likes man.
To surviors: Can you please stop flashing me? I cant see im legally blind when i break the pallet all the time. I love standing still and see jesus in front of my eyes :D
Love all the funny survivors out there, you guys are the ones i play for, have a nice day.
Dead by Daylight is a perfect example of why Steam should allow refunds for certain games regardless of playtime. The game has an incredibly toxic community, an overwhelming amount of additional content that gets deliberately cut over time to push players into buying new DLCs. The original style and charm of the game have long since died, turning into a janky Fortnite with gore. The sheer number of ridiculous new characters from collaborations makes you facepalm at the developers' creative impotence.
Genuinely impressive this game has survived for a decade on just generators, pallets and windows while developing the most toxic and sad community in gaming.
