Borderlands 3

not bad, the game is okay. the only thing that confuses me is the map and its not beginner friendly. i really had to use all of my brain just to figure out whats happening around the map. fast travel UI is quite hard if you're not mmorpg type of person. animations and graphics are nice and i liked it. assault rifles and laser weapons are absolute garbage, i only used pistol and shotgun the entire game since it's damage does a lot in the game. and one more thing boss fights, raids and hordes are amazing in the game eventho i lost count how many times i died while playing. overall its a good game i might give it a 7/10

This is one of the most visually-pleasing and aesthetic games ever. The shooting and gameplay is so fun and addicting. I love this game so much!

While this game is not as good as previous installment in terms of storyline for several reasons:
1. Main antagonists are way too goofy and onedimensional;
2. Many old characters like Mordekai, Brick and Tiny Tina and some others don't add much to the storyline and act more like background characters;
3. Writing of Ava;

It still provides great visuals and has replayability as well as great soundtrack.

The Borderlands series is always fun, and while this story is not really up to par with the previous three it's still really good and fun so I would recommend

Handsome jack never shut up but at least he was written well and it wouldn't lock you to an area forever until the dialogue is over.

great game tbh. but game couldnt save settings on heroic launcher and lost a level 14 siren then got b3 on steam and have now lost a level 36 operative to what i believe is a corrupted save. now i am going to cry myself to sleep.;(

Not the best in the series, but its still good. Graphics and gameplay are perfect, performance wasn't too bad, but the story was where it was lacking a little bit for me. I didn't hate or love the main villains and I think that was the problem. There is also soooo much content compared to BL1 and BL2 which I appreciate a lot.

If you're coming from BL2:

Better: more (and more diverse) weapons, improved gunplay, many quality of life improvements (auto collect money, ammo, optionally auto-sell gear of certain rarities on pick-up, scale coop game enemy and loot drop level for each player individually, optional individual loot drops, quick travel from anywhere...)

Worse: petty villains and negligible story arch with too many forced twists, somewhat overinflated drop rates, chaotic visual effect overload in 4 player coop games, large and intricate maps combined with a subpar mini map which regularly leads to getting lost on a way to a mission marker.

Summary: I recommend buying a bundle on sale. DLCs are hit and miss and not worth purchasing individually but offer a fair amount of additional gameplay as part of large bundles like Pandora's Box.

Liked it, was really fun especially (late) mid game but after finishing the story / late game it became pretty boring for me.

While the weapons have been improved, and the classes and skill trees have some interesting mechanics to them, the game is far too short compared to Borderlands 2.
I can't even talk about the story, because it's that bad, and that's setting aside the whole DEI thing where they took a royal dump on existing characters while proping up woke ones. Don't get me wrong, new characters are fine, but this destruction of existing characters is just uncalled for (not just death, but butchering of the living characters as well).

All in all, I can't say how much of this game's failure was SweetBabyInc and how much it was due to bad writing.

There are good sections of combat, but the game feels less interconnected than Borderlands2 with its areas.

No where near as good as the goated borderlands 2 that i still shamelessly play all the time to this day but its okay. Add a few qol mods like dialog skip so you dont have to listen to the cringe twins and its a decent game but i will always find myself going back to bl2 over this game

Visual style is completely inapplicable in shooter - too noisy. I was forsed to use aoe weapons that you can target in approximate direction of an enemy, cuz I just didn't see shit among the splashes of flat colors.
The story is on the 'complete the game and forget' level. The dialogues, characters and jokes quality is somewhere near 'I wish I didn't know how to read'

The story is shit but the gameplay is very fun.
Some of the DLC is fun to but not as good as in Borderlands 2.

Yes, it has the most irritating character of the series, but the gameplay of BL3 is by far the best of the series to date. And the VHs you get to choose from this go around are some of my favorites across the series.

At the moment, if I had to pick one BL to play and only one BL to play, it would be BL3.

gunplay is pretty solid, like 8.5/10. the locations in the base game kinda blow, but the dlc's (guns love etc and bounty of blood) have great locations that are beautiful and fun to fight in. i dont think much needs to be said about the story, bl2's is much better, the characters and writing is atrociously bad its not funny. i recommend for gunplay and dlc locations, base game content is okay

This is one of the worst Borderlands games I have ever played, The main villains are obnoxious, the story is pretty mid and the game play is having a massive identity crisis. The last good Borderlands game released was Borderlands Pre-sequel

Ughh the classes are bad (playing as the Mecha girl and never a fun experience with the fuel cooldown. yet people can jump on my machine and it's cool i guess), dialogues are annoying, the game is better off with zero volume, overall a disappointment after the second game. Though still functions as a time killer.

Great game. There is so much content and 4 characters to play through with different combat styles. Where this game falls short is the DLC. Previous borderland games introduced new characters with DLC and while some of them were lackluster, they added a reason to grind out levels and gear. The DLC is also nothing to write home about with boring story lines and mundane characters. I would compare this to game of thrones where the early seasons (base game) carry the show and the later season (DLC) stomp it into the ground.

it definitely has the best gunplay and variety of the 3 games. but i really hope they make more interesting things with the 4th one. moving around, boss battles its all so one dimensional.

Give us bursts of speed, dashes, jetpacks. u know make it more fun afterall its about being bananas

Fun game the story is whatever but the skill trees and gameplay are fine.

There are many elements of this game that are good. Unfortunately it stopped being a challenge 15 hours in as the guns i'd collected wiped the floor with even the bosses. There is no option to raise the difficulty above normal until you complete the game and i wasn't prepared to be bored for that long. If they change this and make it so hard mode can be unlocked at the start i would change my review.

Better story line, graphics, CGI, acting than the movie. 11/10

A great game held back by a grating story. Has every flaw of borderlands 2 and adds some while detracting some positives. The great part of this game though is the variety and fluidity of gameplay. Overall, good bad good good bad good game!

Gameplay-wise Borderlands 3 is a top draw, it takes ideas from the best shooters and MOBA games of our time and implements them very well.
The looting aspect and the constant upgrading your weapons and improving your build will keep you hooked, it is very addictive.
If you are more into single player campaigns, it is ok, but it is the game´s greatest weakness.
It can be pretty linear with you shooting hordes of enemies or traveling from point A to point B to talk to someone or bring/pick up an object.
The characters are lackluster, and the side quests they give you are brain rot. There are 0 badasses in this game, despite there being a lot of enemies with badass preceding their name. Gearbox needs to fire these writers, horrible woke people defiling a good game.
Online is a mixed bag, the community is not as big as it used to be.
Verdict 8 out of 10.

The entire first run of the campaign is worth playing through. The second you unlock mayhem mode however is when you realize that the developers were apparently lobotomized midway through the design process. Possibly the worst example of numbers based difficulty design in gaming to the point that it straight up isn't even game play anymore. Unforgivable trash.

2 things about Borderlands 3. It can be good and it can be boring. Still recommend it for the gameplay if you like to shoot all enemies in front of you, but in general many aspects of this game that makes you want to sleep for playing this game

pre sequel is better unironically, the twins are not good characters and the legendaries dont feel "legendary" enough

Borderlands 3

I was a huge fan of the first borderlands game, really fun looter shooter that was funny and engaging. BL2 was decent as well but my god what a nosedive BL3 has taken. First bad taste in my mouth was that I had to wait out a year of exclusivity nonsense before I could play it, and I finally got my hands on it for half price when it launched on Steam. Even paying half price I'm massively disappointed.

First the good - The combat is decent, it plays well and the environments are up to par with what I expect from Borderlands. The climbing mechanic is a good addition. That's it.

Onto the bad - The dialogue and characters are completely insufferable, everyone tries so hard to be funny that it just makes me cringe listening to them. My co-op partner turned off voice volume completely because it was so horrendous. The menus are so unnecessarily convoluted, some of the UI elements don't even unlock until you've beaten the game so why are they there? Tracking multiple quests is beyond tedious, as you can only check the location of an objective one at a time and then have to back out of the map to select a new one to plan a route, it's such a huge ballache. I can't set the game to any higher than medium (even though my PC should be able to run it at ultra) because the game crashes if I change any graphical option. The awfully unfunny dialogue made me instantly not give a shit about any of the characters or the narrative, so I uninstalled it after a few hours. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone, pick up BL1 for a fiver instead.

Score - DNF

- Why are the loading times are so long?

- The dialog is bad and the game MAKES you STAND there and listen to it. BL2 was better at getting you right into the action. This game makes you stand and wait A LOT.

- The fast travel is overly complicated compared to BL2.

- The price tags on guns keeps moving so it takes longer to decide what to keep/drop and you do this ALL THE TIME in the game. Wish you could turn this feature off.

- Overall just in general all the waiting the game makes you do.


I have been playing the BL games since the beginning. It's amazing how many things this game does wrong that the previous game did right.

Borderlands 3 is a good game, but a bad Borderlands.

The gameplay is crisp and represents a clear improvement on Borderlands 2. Firearms are very pleasant to use, aesthetically pleasing and even more varied. Character movement is much more responsive and precise, as you can now climb over ledges and obstacles. Graphics are a net improvement, although I miss the goofy fluids and fabrics physics. All in all, the core gameplay elements are rock-solid.

What's more disappointing, and clearly worse, is everything that made Borderlands 2 so special: its humor, story and writing...
Borderlands 3 is what you get if you ask a bunch of suits to try and copy what made 2 so funny, and push that a little further. Problem is, they don't understand what made it funny.
It's not well-paced and tries way too hard, too often. The only up-side is that player characters are given more lines, making them feel more involved.
And the number one villains? Cringe does not even begin to describe them. They'll never make a better villain than Handsome Jack it seems.

If you look past that, Borderlands 3 is still an enjoyable game.

Love the game, Have played these games forever and will continue to play till I am 6 feet under, and if they have borderlands available in hell, I will play it there too.

Literally unplayable without going into your game files and deleting the god awful dialogue.

Way way better graphics than previous game. (Looks good in 2024)
New feel of shooting, the guns feel sharp and better, u feel every bullet.
Every gun and item has a score now and that makes the looting way easier.
You can refill ammo by 1 click.
You can see your hands now, animations for going up/down a ladder and added sliding.
Ragdoll physics are awesome, when you shot something it blows away, the gore and blood spread is fantastic too.
Overall more of the same with better visuals and quality of life improvements.
Definitely %150 worth a buy if you are into Borderlands.
and %99 worth a buy if you are into first person shooters.
I will update the list and add more things as I keep playing.

Yeah the gameplays good, everything else is real bad, especially the leftist propaganda which they lean into heavily in this game, very dei filled and for that reason i cannot recomend this one. I just want to play a fun game, not get brainwashed.

You guys made one of the best games ever to be made with this one, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY DO NOT ruin the 4th one with DEI shit. My best friend Justin who passed away and I used to play this game for hours and hours after finishing other BL games together and then this one and doing the boss battles, events and DLC's together so many times it was by far our favorite game to play together. I miss him so much and playing this game, hearing the music, seeing the characters is all hard for me even tho the BL games are my favorite series of all time. I played this on Epic Games and then repurchased on Steam (which is why it shows I haven't played much in it just FYI). Yes some of the characters are annoying AF and it took a while for this game to play well it's still my favorite BL to this date just because of playing the absolute crap out of it with my friend. They did a good job here, the graphics, the guns, the MUSIC (oh it's outstanding!), the story, the levels, the EVERYTHING. Please don't ruin 4 because some dumb bitches want to diversify it even more than all the others already were. Don't be like every other one of these game companies and destroy yourselves becasue THEY want you to. I love Gearbox and I LOVE Borderlands.

I literally cannot even play this game. Not only does it keep crashing, it shuts down my PC every time it crashes. It only happens in this game, I've changed GPU settings, updated drivers, changed between DirectX11 and 12, windowed, fullscreen, borderless, run as administrator, etc. etc. Nothing has worked so far.

Story is ight but gameplay is 10 out of 10 wish bl2 had bl3 mechs

I love the Borderlands games and this one is no different. The gear is great and the playable characters are great. The story is alright and might turn some people off, but the minute-to-minute gameplay makes up for it. The environments are also very memorable and full of color. BL1 had a lot of tan/grey/brown colors which made every environment look the same, but BL3 is very colorful and vibrant.

The game is very fun and has a huge amount of weapons that you can combine overall 8/10

Very fun to play and its open world so its not like you are stuck in one place the entire game which i like a lot
