Gameplay: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ [8]
Comments: Gameplay will always be good for Mortal Kombat games I assume. They always add a new type of special move or animation. I would categorize the Mortal Kombat franchise as easy to understand but hard to master games. Each character has a unique strength and executable move set, that will keep even the most veteran players a run for their money
Story: 📖 [7]
Comments: The story was lukewarm and short. Time Manipulation is an old trick at this point so I was not that impressed with the story. Not bad but just nothing out of the ordinary
Graphics: 🎨 [8]
Comments: Very good considering the wide array of different types of animations dedicated to each character such as elements and energy. The victories, taunts and intros are well designed and not repetitive so far
Sound:/Dialog 🎶 [7]
Comments: The sound and dialog was pretty decent but I expected nothing less from a well-know franchise like Mortal Kombat. I don't see anyway to improve this aspect for a game like this
Price: 💰 [8]
Comments: Now is the best time to purchase the game as a new sequel has just emerged so this game will be regularly on discount
🔥 Overall Rating: [7.6]
Summary: A fairy decent game in my estimation. A huge roaster of heroes to choose from so the issue of repetition is not that high. I would suggest implementing more animations like fatalities and brutalities, further increase the hero pool as well as as increase the number of interactable objects. Maybe increase more modes perhaps for a variety of experiences?
Good Game Good price Good Graphics Optimization 10/10
Animations better than MK1. Recommended
My first fighting game !! Is quite exciting and intuitive to learn. Would recommend to others 100 percent
I would love to recommend MK11 but my experience with it has been so negative that it has poisoned my view on everything that I liked about it. This is because of how the WB servers and customer service works.
I managed to play a solid 14 hours of this game with out flaw (way over the steam product refund limit) then I got message that my account couldn't be connected to their online server. After retrying to connect to the servers, I suddenly get a notification that I am "temporarily banned" instead. This is without a reason since I had been playing online with my friends in a manner that has never been a problem in any other game, meaning I had not gone against terms and conditions in any way.
This temporary ban persists to this day, even after contacting WB customer service, they never got back to me after 2 initial emails, so I never got help to my issue.
This experience has simply poisoned my experience with this game and I can't recommend it for that.
I really enjoyed breaking the sacred timeline and remaking it again in this storymode. Got this originally to practice playing against my friends but schedules never typically line up. Now i just practice fatalities and attempt to use this with my wife to delegate house chores. A good build into mk1
So much content! I kind of feel like this game was almost shooting themselves in the foot, cause how are they gonna top it? But then again, I felt Mortal Kombat IX was pretty great too.
This is an ultimate combo count mix-up game. It's really fun to play and also have an awesome story-line. Really made me addicted to its play-style.
amazing story telling nice gameplay with excellent naration you just fell in love with this game highily recomendable the fatal kills are just amazing and the time travelling scenes are just nailed it
My Favourite fighting game series, Its the good old classic Mortal Kombat game but with crazy graphics and upgraded game play, this is number 11 and it feels like its the only one i need but sure maybe Mortal Kombat 20 will be my next buy XD.
The game is very worth the buy specially if u dont own any MK games.
mk11 is my first game in the franchise, and i've been eyeing a mortal kombat game for ages. i decided to try this one first, and suprisingly it didn't disappoint. the game looks amazing with detailed characters and brutal, satisfying combat. the story mode is engaging, featuring a time-travel plot that brings together characters from different eras.
gameplay is smooth and intuitive, easy to pick up but challenging to master. i bought the dlcs, so my roster is complete. customization options for characters are extensive, letting you change outfits, gear, and special moves. fatalities are gruesome and creative can make each match thrilling.
overall, mk11 is a fantastic fighting game with lots of depth and content. whether you're a newcomer like me or a veteran, there's a lot to love and plenty of ways to keep you coming back for more. 9/10
Loved the story line so far. Bought an arcade controller especially for this game and it's totally worth it.
excellent graphics and very good story
Controls are tight, the detail given enough to immerse yourself. Don't have an older sibling or cousin to beat the hell out of you relentlessly? No problem just put the game on hard and prepare to just turn off emotionally from the solid 5/5 ass beating the cpu will put on you. The story and voice acting were just the right blend to keep me chuckling but also slightly ready to break spines. Great game!
Mortal Kombat 11 Highlight Features:
- Balanced fighting mechanics
- Custom variation system
- Cinematic story mode
- Adventure-style Krypt
- Extensive character customization
Excellence Factors:
NetherRealm created their finest work by combining methodical combat with spectacular visuals. The story mode sets new standards for fighting game narratives.
Campaign alone is worth it. Wait for sale price especially if it’s bundled with Injustice 2 for a total of $10. Game is phenomenal.
After a long break from MKs (last time I played was on SNES 25+ years ago) I decided to give this one a try and Im having fun! pretty sweet game, the story was fun and im trying the towers now, I didnt play online yet but the game is very good.
The game right now is good, everything is perfect except online, how the F does the game still have desync after all these years?
Glad I bought it on sales, if it was full price, I would be pissed.
All and all, if you can skip Online mode then it's a pretty decent game, I played pretty much every MK games, and I never think bad about gameplay, people do though.
MK11 does feel a little slower compared to MK1, but meh I can still combo and make good damages so it is still worth it, of course if you have tons of money, you can go for MK1, I played it, its gameplay is so much better, but remember, MK11's offline gameplay is so much better than MK1 :)
Got this game to play with a friend on Xbox since there's Krossplay. Turns out Krossplay between PC and Xbox is only possible if you own MK11 through the Microsoft store. Which is just baffling to me. Granted I only spent like 10 or so dollars for the Complete edition so I'm not too mad about it. Just annoyed.
Game overall is alright I suppose. Story is fine from what I remember when I played this on console. The fighting is a slog and direct downgrade from MKX; Really slow and clunky for my taste. So I recommend you get this game when it's on sale, because despite that Krossplay is a lie, and it's slow gameplay, is is still better than MK1.
Get MKX for a overall good game, or get this when it's on sale.
I was unable to connect to the MK 11 servers. I kept getting an error saying that it cannot sync my account with the MK11 servers. Unable to play online, towers of time, or any of the kustomize content. I requested a refund.
calling it casual might be the biggest lie ever told after 40+ games against people with 99% chances of winning you finally find someone who isnt level 300 and then they combo you to death i usually like fighting games but i genuinly dont think ive ever had less fun playing a video game
Completing the tutorials is in itself a considerable challenge; the depth of the gameplay (limited in the fighting genre, of course) is immeasurable.
The presentation is polished, a delight.
The story mode is engaging enough to spark a desire to go further.
The cutscenes are stunning.
Coming from a rookie in the genre: there's a strong urge to progress from 'masher to master.'
Haven't played a new MK since Shaolin Monks. Story was great. The story mode is a lot of non interactive scenes tied together with classic fights. Arena is 2D. Pleasantly surprised and will backtrack to X before going on to "1".
way better than mk1 only the graphics are a bit worse but the kombat and gameplay is better
very fun, combat a bit more slow than previous entries but still very good, great customization but the grind to get some stuff is big, anyway still great game
The game is really good. However on my (bad) laptop it only runs good when set to the 'low' graphics preset, and even then the framerate occasionally drops to unplayable levels. the gameplay is smooth but the inputs are SO DAMN CLUNKY. I struggle to make my character do what i want and sometimes can't move??? might just be a my laptop issue but yeah. i did get this on a 90% off sale so it's definitely worth that price, but full price? it doesn't seem worth the full price with how clunky the controls are. i still recommend the game. (i am also annoyed that unlike mkx there's no DLC to just unlock everything in the krypt, especially with how much stuff there is in the krypt, but oh well)
Loving the fights they are brutal, hating the fact that so much in the story mode is sitting back watching the characters fight it out while I can't interact with it.
its brutal fun when you get to play
Fun game. Story mode is amazing. Played only 1-game online and it was nice as well.
Nice Controls, but practice needed.
A good addition to the library.
This is my first modern MK game or rather fighting game. Found it really fun.
i bought this ultimate just for the story and multiplayer , story was great but the multiplayer keeps desync it shows desynchronisation bw online match .... dont buy it if u want to play online
MK 11 is not just a fighting game; it’s an experience that brings players into its brutal and beautiful world
Full price game but has banner ads for MK1?
The game in itself is fine.. but I paid for the game and there's a big ad banner that can't be closed advertising MK1 on the main menu..
If you are looking to buy this game on PC for its online play, then don't bother. I as well as other players are experiencing dsynchronisation issues during matches, and because of that we are unable to finish the matches. This is not a connection problem on our end, but an issue with NRS' servers. Therefor I requested a refund. Other than that, story ok... graphics are good, game is fluid.
Mortal Kombat 11 : By Triple F
"Mortal Kombat 11" (MK11) from NetherRealm Studios takes the long-standing fighting game franchise to new heights with stunning visuals, deep character customization, and a refined combat system. Released in 2019, the game embraces the brutal aesthetic Mortal Kombat is known for, with meticulously crafted graphics that highlight every punch, cut, and fatality in intricate, almost cinematic detail. The addition of a well-developed story mode and a solid roster of characters, both classic and new shows how much thought has gone into this game. "MK11" strikes a balance between being accessible to new players and challenging for veterans, though not without its flaws.
The narrative in "MK11’s" story mode stands out for its polish and scope, offering an impressive, interactive cinematic experience that combines action with storytelling in a way rarely seen in fighting games. The plot revolves around the time-bending villain Kronika, the Keeper of Time, whose agenda creates a clash between past and present versions of iconic characters. The story mode does a commendable job of allowing players to experience the plot from multiple perspectives, including fan favorites like Liu Kang, Raiden, and Scorpion, adding layers to their character arcs. While the story-line won’t convert those uninterested in fighting game narratives, it is a treat for fans, blending nostalgia with fresh conflicts.
In terms of gameplay, "MK11" builds on its predecessors by refining its mechanics to be more tactical and slower-paced compared to earlier, more frantic entries in the series. The game introduces the "Fatal Blow" mechanic, a high-risk, high-reward attack that can only be activated when a character’s health is critically low, providing a dramatic, last-resort tactic for players. This mechanic, along with the "Krushing Blow" system, which rewards players for using specific moves under certain conditions, enhances the strategic depth of combat, making every move count. While these systems give more dimension to combat, some players may find the pace slightly slower than expected, particularly those accustomed to MKX's fast-paced style.
"MK11" also stands out with its extensive customization options, allowing players to modify character appearances, gear, and even movesets. This level of customization is especially satisfying for players who like to personalize their experience and try different strategies with their favorite characters. The customization extends into the competitive modes, where players can experiment with different load-outs in the Towers of Time and Klassic Towers, offering challenges that evolve over time. However, the grind required to unlock certain gear and skins can feel excessive and sometimes pushes players toward micro-transactions, which detracts from the otherwise robust customization experience.
The online multiplayer experience in "MK11" is generally solid, with relatively stable netcode and a well-implemented ranked mode. Matches feel responsive, and the rollback netcode minimizes lag, a critical aspect for any fighting game’s success in the online arena. Ranked modes and matchmaking are structured to pit players of similar skill levels against each other, which helps new players ease into competitive play while giving veterans a challenging experience. The online ecosystem is engaging, though it could benefit from more frequent updates to keep the community engaged over time.
One of the most iconic aspects of Mortal Kombat would be its gruesome Fatalities and gore that has been taken to an extreme in "MK11". The graphical fidelity allows these moves to be rendered in disturbingly intricate detail, pushing the limits of taste for some. However, for fans of the series, the violence is an expected and celebrated feature that has been a core part of Mortal Kombat’s identity. The Fatalities are imaginative and often absurdly over-the-top, with each character having unique finishers that demonstrate the developer’s creativity and commitment to the series’ trademark brutality.
Overall, "Mortal Kombat 11" successfully delivers a well-rounded package that respects the series’ legacy while introducing new ideas and mechanics. Its storytelling, graphics, and customization options elevate it beyond a simple fighting game, making it one of the best entries in the Mortal Kombat franchise. While the reliance on micro-transactions and occasional grindiness may be off-putting, the game’s visual presentation, solid mechanics, and engaging story mode make "Mortal Kombat 11" an essential title for both Mortal Kombat fans and fighting game enthusiasts alike.
bought game on a massive sale. more than well worth the small price i paid.
after an hour of trying to play online ranked and casual matches i was able to finish ONE match. every single bloody time i would hit round 2 with an opponent the match would desync and automatically end the match. when looking online i only found one fix which ended up not working. i bought this game for the online play and can't okay that very mode the rest of the game is fun and the story is fairly engaging but the online play is horrible.
I got the ultimate edition of this game for the low and enjoyed playing through the story. As this is only my second MK entry with the first being MKX (I never played the story oops), the story was easy to follow along to and kept me interested between fights. Some of the leveling is a bit grindy and the krypt is just lame IMO, but I can put that aside because the game at it's core is fun. 7/10
Very fun to play. Quite hard at the beginning but once you get the hang of it, you will get the satisfaction on demolishing the others. The Brutalities and the fatalities are so satisfying to do!!!
Great game if you want to find a game where you can constantly improve. Story mode is really good too. Also better than MK1. Only drawback is no crossplay from PC to other consoles.
What was once an iconic fighting game franchise—celebrated for its brutal gameplay, memorable characters, and unapologetically campy, testosterone-fueled aesthetic—has been reduced to a decrepit shell of woke pandering and forced virtue signaling. The very spirit that defined the Mortal Kombat saga has been dismembered without any finesse or purpose.
Character Models:
From the very first glance at the character models, it becomes apparent that there is an intentional effort to make the once-beloved fighters as physically unappealing as possible. Gone are the fierce and distinct visages of iconic characters like Sonya Blade or Mileena. Instead, we are subjected to what can only be described as intentionally decrepit renderings of formerly heroic figures. The women, in particular, are grotesquely de-feminized in an obscene attempt to fit a modern, politically-driven aesthetic focused on erasing any feminine qualities, reducing the characters to featureless, androgynous figures devoid of curves or grace.
Every single female character looks like a bizarre amalgamation of a person undergoing hormone replacement therapy—devoid of any sexuality, flat-chested, and disturbingly androgynous. It is as if the developers took the most extreme interpretation of "non-sexualization" and injected it with a heavy dose of ideological testosterone blockers. The end result is an army of characters that feel hollow and soulless, stripped of both their original allure and personality. It is nothing short of a deception, marketed as progress but, in reality, an attempt to deconstruct what made the franchise engaging in the first place.
Forced Diversity:
Diversity, when done right, can enrich a narrative. But MK11’s ham-fisted, woke approach to representation is both laughable and condescending. Every character seems to be meticulously crafted to tick off some demographic box. This isn’t representation; it’s a hollow exercise in pandering that reduces individuals to their identity markers. What’s hilarious, in a darkly ironic way, is how the developers seem to believe they are making bold statements by reducing their characters to symbols of diversity, while completely ignoring the importance of well-written personalities and backstories and gameplay that actually matter to players.
The inclusion of characters who look like they belong in a poorly-thought-out "diversity catalog" rather than a brutal fighting tournament is painfully obvious. There is nothing organic about this representation. It's as though the creative team behind MK11 sat in a boardroom and said, "We need more diversity, but make sure don’t resemble anyone from the past because we can’t risk offending anyone who might perceive the designs as too sexualized or too masculine." This approach leads to laughably bland characters, devoid of the energy, charisma, and depth that earlier iterations had.
Voice Acting:
The voice acting is another tragic element of MK11’s disastrous attempt at a serious narrative. The performances range from uninspired to outright laughable, with lines delivered in such a flat tone that it's hard to believe these actors were allowed to submit these takes without re-recording. There’s no passion, no intensity—just the impression that the actors themselves were bored or even confused by the ludicrous quotes they’ve been handed. Characters that once had strong, distinct voices now sound interchangeable, blending into a monotone farce of diversity-driven conformity.
Gameplay:
As if the character designs and voice acting weren’t enough to signal the game's downfall, the gameplay itself is a disappointing mess. What was once a classic fast-paced, intuitive combat system has been replaced with clunky, unresponsive mechanics. Combos, which once flowed naturally and allowed for creativity, now feel forced and unintuitive. The fluidity that once made Mortal Kombat stand out in the fighting game community has been replaced by a stilted and restrictive system that seems more concerned with looking good on paper than feeling good in execution. The franchise has lost the raw, visceral feel that once made each fight exhilarating and satisfying. The once-bold violence now seems like a faint echo of what it used to be, reduced to absurd caricatures of its former glory, likely diluted to accommodate the 17+ rating when it should have remained strictly 18+ to honor the franchise’s tradition of unapologetic violence and gore.
Narrative:
If there’s one area where MK11 truly collapses under the weight of its woke aspirations, it’s the narrative. The story, which in previous titles, while often nonsensical, at least had a sense of fun and excitement, Has been reduced to a tired, predictable slog, forcefully shoehorning an unrealistic image of strong female figures, where the exaggerated portrayal feels so contrived that it's almost insulting in its obviousness. Every plot twist feels contrived, every character arc manipulated to serve some sort of ideological agenda rather than the actual progression of the story. It’s as if the developers believe that the only way to make a compelling narrative is by force-feeding the audience a diet of superficial moral platitudes, rather than trusting the players to engage with the game’s realm on their own terms.
The forced diversity bleeds into the story itself, making every interaction feel contrived and forced. Gone is the sense of camaraderie and rivalry that once defined the relationships between characters. Instead, we are subjected to a joyless, moralizing narrative that seeks to impose its worldview on the player rather than invite them into the realm of Mortal Kombat. The result is a game that feels more like a lecture than an immersive experience.
Conclusion: A Decrepit Deception
Mortal Kombat 11 is not merely a grotesque travesty; it is a deliberate desecration of its own legacy, a hollow vessel warped into an ideological puppet. The intent to align with the fashionable, vacuous collective consciousness of "wokeness" is glaringly obvious, a calculated move to polarize and alienate the original fanbase that once reveled in the unfiltered brutality and unapologetic spirit of the franchise. Every element of the game—down to the most minuscule details in character modeling, the lifeless voice acting, the sterile narrative—has been forcefully twisted into an obscenely transparent political manifesto, where gameplay is relegated to a mere afterthought, an accessory to the developers' obsession with virtue-signaling. The game’s resources have been entirely redirected to broadcast its new ideological path, forsaking the visceral essence that defined Mortal Kombat, and transforming it into an almost farcical display of compliance with the current cultural orthodoxy. The creators' myopic focus on propagating this agenda insults the intelligence of the fans, betraying a once-beloved series in favor of shallow pandering and grotesque ideological servitude, ensuring that the Mortal Kombat of old is forever entombed.
The game is completely unplayable,
Not because the game is bad, but ever since MK1 dropped I've been having a technical issue in all online matches where it just kicks me out and gives me a message saying "the session was desynchronized" I tried to search it online and it seems like a lot of people are dealing with the same issue from different times. I've been trying to play the game for 2 days now but can't get a full match at all
I literally can't play the game that I paid for. Absolute scam.
a friend of mine (a "self proclaimed mortal kombat expert") really hates this game, then eventually i got this game to try it out and get into the franchise and i don't see anything bad about it, sure the time thing is a bit off but i can just as easily ignore it because i have and seen worse stories that didn't actually try. the game itself is fun and had fun kicking my friend's ass as fujin (different friend, he loves the jonkler). 8/10
Wake up in a fight club
Gets called out by some dude named Tyler
He punches me
We get into a fight
Everybody is chanting
Get fully knocked out
Wake up
We get kicked out
I go home
I download Mortal Kombat
My building gets blown up
1. Very good fighting game.
2. This game has the same fighting mechanics and or buttons as the injustice 2 fighting game.
3. I am not into fighting games but still wanted to experience some popular fighting game titles so I bought this game and experienced some of its gameplay.
4. this game has amazing story mode to get to know all the character roster of this game.
5. This game takes more than 100GB of storage space.
6. Must play for fighting genre fans.
7. This game is very hard if you are not good at fighting games and thus I would only recommend to play this game on very easy difficultly for complete newbies.
CRASHES CONSTANTLY. Even all these years later.. This is particularly frustrating when you've beaten 5-10 characters in a tower and it suddenly crashes erasing your progress. These issues have taken days/weeks from me I'll never get back. Challenges are idiotic. Every tower has some kind of stupid combat effects. It's just bad. I absolutely hate all the minigames they keep putting in these too like the Krypt. I know they're trying to be innovative and relevant, but honestly all anyone expects out of Mortal Kombat is just a straight up deathmatch. Stick to what you're good at. Like all Mortal Kombat / NetherRealm Studios games that have come out in the last few decades, they expect you to dedicate your entire life to 100% everything. You will never play enough to unlock everything. What's the point of having unlockables if it takes you decades to earn it all???
Running an AMD 6950XT with a 5900X and cannot get above 42FPS. Some say the issue is isolated to AMD machines some say not. Beware before sinking money into the game.
I purchased this game a little over a year ago and I have been having an issue where I cannot collect any koins or experience due to a bug. There's been no help from the devs in that year.
I can't play this game. Literally. When I launch the game I can't play online/AI mode and get a message that I am "not connected with MK servers". I am indeed logged in on their website, family sharing is turned off for over a month now. Yet I still get this message. After re-launching the game I am notified that I got banned (for a week). I can't even get a refund, because it was over two weeks. MK team, go fuck yourself.
Certain elements are fun. PVP are fun, the characters and dynamics are much the same. Why don't I recommend? Same as many others. TOWERS OF TIME. I swear to phuck, there is someone from the development team sadistically rubb1ng one out while watching you spend 250 soul fragments or 200 hearts per attempt to luck your way through a fight that is rigged to the NINES.
The towers of time CAN be fun, but about 1 out of 20 is ridiculously hard and dependent on you MAGICALLY selecting the right Konsumables which even if you pick the right ones it's still insanely difficult. It is difficult and rigged to the point of being NO FUN AT ALL. At least with mk9, each failure reduced the difficulty by half a level with each consecutive failure! To say NOTHING of requiring an insane cost per try. Beyond ridiculous.
The towers of time are the only thing that give this game replayability to have more customization options, but also a catch 22. They are also the sole reason you shouldn't get into this game due to the insane and unjustifiable difficulty.
