you're not really painting the town red but rather certain places, either way it's pretty fun to mess around in either mod maps or base game maps

Honestly, its a very good game. Its got the weapons you can fight with in a bar, in a disco, like HUH?! This game has to be the BEST game I have downloaded. I do not regret buying this game, it has good gore, blood can be everywhere, and you can even drop the soap in the prison!!

It's fine I mean I know the game was made for the gore but they should have also focused on the combat system

I like this game quite a fair bit - I don't remember the name of the game-mode that I love the most other than it's a rogue-like dungeon crawler. The Trickster is difficult - one day I will probably beat him

The game physics and fighting physics are very fun and funny, but the fact that most of the NPCs target you makes the game much harder. This may be a good thing or bad thing depending on your preferences, but it will make the game even more fun over time as you get better.

A very brutal and fun voxel-based fighting game with cool abilities.

Refunded. Even though it has been many years since release, it still has bugs like falling out of bounds and getting stuck all the time, so you have to restart the level. Apart from that - freezes, crashes.
And without community maps there is barely any content in the game. Those few official maps the game has are very, very short.

It gets a bit boring and doesnt have many levels

It's a fun goofy sandbox brawler sim. I highly recommend this game because whilst simple, it has a lot of replayability. Slaughtering enemies by throwing shot glasses and pool balls in the saloon is a lot of fun as a challenge run, at least to me. XD

I got gang-r*ped by creepers and skeletons in Minecraft and now i'm here.

Paint the Town Red is not a game. It’s a pixelated fever dream where everyone’s made of meat cubes and has unresolved anger issues—and you’re the therapist. With a chair. Or a mop. Or a frozen steak you found in the kitchen and decided was your Excalibur.

You enter a bar. You sip your imaginary drink. You bump into a guy. He says something about your hair. And then? Chaos. Absolute, beautiful chaos. Within seconds, 45 dudes are kung-fu fighting and you’ve launched a plate like a frisbee of judgment into someone’s face. Poetry.

Weapons? EVERYTHING IS A WEAPON.
• Pool cue? Weapon.
• Pint glass? Weapon.
• Loaf of bread? Surprisingly effective weapon.
I once won a level using only a barstool and an unhealthy amount of screaming.

The physics are somewhere between “realistic” and “Looney Tunes after dark.” You punch a man and he does a backflip into a jukebox. You kick another and he slides across the floor like a bloodied curling stone of regret. Elegance.

And then there’s Beneath Mode—where suddenly you’re fighting skeletons and demons like Doom got drunk at a Minecraft convention. One minute you’re in a saloon, the next you’re uppercutting a minotaur with psychic powers. Classic escalation.

Final score: 9 severed limbs and 3 disco kicks out of 10.
Paint the Town Red is a cathartic, hilarious ballet of blocky violence. It’s like a sandbox where someone replaced all the sand with vengeance and jazz music.

Great game, beneath mode is awesome and people are super creative with the level maker. Highly recommend

I play this game so much when i'm bored. I love all the game modes and blood. But it doesn't update anymore and after you play everything it has its just boring. But it gives a good game for months for me. 7/10 game!

The mods and weapons are the best things about this game 7/10

This game really does let you paint the town red! This game goes from oh yeah Imma get some beer to the whole bar being a blood bath! (Or imagine the scene from Emisis Blue in the sewer at the start of the movie). This game also has some fun things like crazy mobility, and SATISFACTION! I strongly suggest playing this game mainly because genocide is fun :]

🩸 Plot & Gameplay:
Although it seems to have simple graphics at first glance, it is a very crazy and fun melee combat game. In various environments from bars to prisons, you use everything around you as a weapon and tear apart enemies. The physics engine and voxel-style bloody visuals stand out.

In addition, it can be played for a long time with the "Arena" mode, roguelike "Beneath" mode and Steam Workshop support.

If you want to distract yourself and turn the place into a bloodbath, it's perfect! A fun "attack, destroy" game with its physics-based combat and free gameplay.

great game for turning your brain off and having some mindless fun. Basically it's just all about having massive public fights with tons of random people and being the last man standing. The "Beneath" mode is suprisingly fun too. You start out way too weak in Beneath in my opinion though and it's not very much fun until you get some upgrades. Your weapons break way too fast and you do no damage at first, but once you get some upgrades your weapons can potentially be unbreakable so it's quickly mitigated. Just seems like a weird choice to make it impossibly hard at first.

I expected the Beneath gamemode to be the highlight of this game, a dungeon crawler gamemode.
But it got boring really quickly. It feels like a running simulator, searching for the exit for ages.
They should add some sort of marker, like being able to spray paint where you were or something, or a map that marks where you visited. (Yes there's the compass but that barely helps)

They seriously need to provide more information too, I have to keep opening google to figure out wtf is going on.

At times it's also glitchy and missing basic features such as toggle crouch.

honestly the first time i lied my virgin eyes upon this beautiful game i honestly dropped to my knees and was hypnotised like that guy from pennywise, i dropped my drawers and fapped until my meat was raw and red like the banner of the, i soon came to realise that this all came in circle and was truly a painted red journey.

So much fun. So much blood. Soooooo COOOOOOL. Gets boring fast.

very good game, entertaining and fun

i love this game, but i fucking hate the editor just a tad little bit, mainly because i was working on a map for a couple of hours and then quit in the middle of loading and now it has no characters, no logic, no doors, no lights, but rooms that i cant select.

This game is very violent but i like it beaneth is hard but if you have warlock as your power thing Now its kinda hard Good game. :)

8/10. Want to turn your brain off and watch some dude in a bar's splatter over some wall? This is the one for you. Love the gore, the movement, the combat, great. The RPG game mode is kinda bad in my opinion, but I've never liked RPGs. The Arenas are terrible, but the map creation is goated. Fun game to waste time in, wouldn't recommend if you're looking for any type of story.
