indie gamejams are better than this jank
I got this because it was on sale and I saw Wayneradiotv play it. This game is fun and chill, there's some levels I'm not a fan of, for an example: House and Airplane. The big objects are not my thing.
I do like this game a lot though, there's some bugs, but not too noticeable.
sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun man i like it
It did not take long to realize that this game was bad. Honestly this game has a lot of potential to be a good game but i don't find it fun nor interesting, although that might be because I don't really know how to create things or make levels. but what really tics me off is how you have to unlock all of the tools, it's so time consuming and probably not even worth unlocking also, you cant even have more than one item in the room, you have to play separate levels for separate items and to my knowledge you cant spawn things in not to mention the items and the hand models feel very janky, it's like my hands just wobble around instead of having balanced steady hands. This game might be worth buying on sale but at it's current state not worth full price. I hope that the devs take a look at this review and fix these issues. I will take another look at this game when it is on sale. Thank you for reading this.
i was very excited to play this game but its nearly impossible to play with the amount of bugs. you cant do a single level with out your hands teleporting around. this game would be very fun if it had less bugs.
This is the jankiest game I've ever played and oh my god it is so annoying to try to find undisassembled pieces. If you're an achievement perfectionist, stay away from this game.
More specifically, the game just wasn't designed for Index. The game recognizes the tiniest touch of my grip as a grab and it becomes frustrating to do anything in the game.
Disassembling the fucking elevator was harder than every other achievement I've ever gotten combined.
After 8 hours I feel like the game has been the one disassembling me.
Still, I mostly enjoy playing this game, it's just something to do while listening to a Youtube video. I don't want to not recommend, as it's not a terrible game. Is it bad? Yes. But is it also good? Yes. I would never tell anyone to buy this if they hadn't heard about it, but the reason this review is positive is because, if you can afford it, and if you are interested in the content, you might like or even love it! Safest option, as with every Steam game, is to play for under 2 hours and judge by that if you want to refund it or keep it.
I can respect the work that went into the mechanics
God the bugs. I play this with the Quest 2's "Steam Link" and MY GOD.
for starters, crouching down is a no-no
holding tools and using them on large objects keeps them held indefinitely
the lag
sometimes my hands just cease to exist... alongside the rest of me...
Update to my review: This is still the case, although the hands thing SEEMS to be an OVR issue, not one with the game. Everything else is just... "Interesting"
so horridly buggy, ill be holding a tool and then somehow the thing im trying to use the tool on magically is in that hand too. it grabs stuff without asking you really often, its really annoying to find out what tools you need for what random crap, why can i rip a skyscraper down with my bare hands, the explosions look kinda shit and the destruction is kinda shit. the sheer chaos of it all was kinda fun at first, but it degraded into completely annoying fairly quickly.
(I was surprised to write my first negative review.)
Disassembly VR is a incredibly detailed game that has so much potential, but never gets fixed. Instead of fixing the long lasting horrible collions, janky grabbing and unrealistic tool use, unessacary updates are added such as combat. This game needs to be fixed, rather than adding more and more broken items.
The game is a great concept but unfortunately the game has WAYYYYY to many bugs. It randomly teleports me around and when I let go of something it sticks to my hand. sometimes the game works and most of the time it doesn't.
It would be a fun game but you have to complete all the item packs to even unlock all the tools. All the unlocked tools are actually the fun part of the game and I don't want to spend hours just trying to unlock all of them.
waste of money developers dont update a lot i thought the concept of the game was fun and me putting my money into it would be okay because in the future it would be nice, now 2 years later they havent made any considerable movement in the game play except bugs and the game crashing plus needing to do the most ridiculous tasks to get the most basic items i nthe game
The game is great but PLEASE bring back the old flying movement from before the full body update, at least make it an option to turn on the old movement, I want to go into the submarine like before, not break it from the outside.
Incredibly janky and buggy. With a lot of polish work this could have been a quite fun game, but as-is it's nearly unplayable.

I just want to say this is not considered sandbox, and you don't immediately get every tool/gun. It took me about 40 Minutes to unlock precision screwdriver. I don't recommend buying this game for sandbox.
Edit: Sandbox mode is in alpha
this game is too buggy to be playable.
If you turn after moving slightly irl you can fall out of the map at which point you cant even use the menu to change levels meaning you need to restart the game.
turning while holding a ragdoll can cause it to fly around the map uncontrollably.
I've had my hands just freeze in place while on the space station level and was unable to do anything more due to it.
These are the main issues I've had with the game, other than just minor control bugs and irritants, if these are fixed I would recommend this game but until then my advice would be to wait on buying it
p.s. The headset I use is the rift s so these issues may not be a problem for other headsets but I doubt it
its good, but when i drive a vehicle and restart the sandbox map and i spawn a vehicle again and try to drive it, the vehicle spazzes out when inside the vehicle and you have to close the game and open it again
Bought the game about a year ago, it was great. The submarine was sickining but otherwise I liked everything. I love the manequins fighting back but the body physics really messed up the game. When getting things from selection bar sometimes they just spin out and the game doesn't have that relaxing feel anymore. If the physics were fixed it would be much better.
3/5
this game has a lot of potential. but unfortunately its super buggy and my table wil launch halfway into outerspace
+Fun
+Creative
+Lots of levels
+Therapeutic
-A Bit Pricey for what it is
-A Bit Buggy for the price.
3/5
This is a great, somewhat therapeutic game in which you take things apart. It's somewhat pricey at $30 bucks, but quite honestly I'm enjoying it and think it's worth the price. However maybe wait for it to go on sale, also if you don't like taking things apart, maybe stay away from this. Also, currently it's one of the best uses for the Valve Knuckle controllers.

Not sure but after clicking submit the button dissapears and it won't let me leave the review so here is my experience:
Holy♥♥♥♥♥♥ I was planning on being disapointed and returning this but this is, for once, a complete♥♥♥♥♥game that is seriously good even though the idea of disassembling things sounds boring (it's not apparently). Please buy this and support full real games in VR. 10/10 but vive users gets ready for the usual experience trying to handle things with your motion wands, gonna be banging them a lot.
Pro: actual progression in a game for one. I was afraid this would be a full sandbox and my issue is I always get bored when there's no goal or reason to come back. This game has a reason to come back.
Graphics: Good, very good actually.
Content: Immense, I honestly don't understand how the dev did this, even with 8 years he put into it. Way more detailed then I expected.
Fun factor: This is both a game you play for hours and a game great for demos.
PerformanceL Good, on my i7 6700k 1080FE ran smooth as butter. For the dev here's some stats:
https://imgur.com/wPswLLe
https://imgur.com/nNeqYKK
9.7/10, ABSOLUTELY recommend.
Coming from someone who bought this game, yes, It's a lot of fun, and it pleases my autism, however I only have one gripe, The fact you have to unlock all the tools makes it a tedius on the more larger maps such as the plane, the space station, house, etc, usually the third stage.
I'd love a cheat mode, maybe disabled achievements if used? I just want to blow up things in VR. But it's a really good game, I'll definitely be playing it more.
if you're interrested in how certain things work then this is your game! the details in this game are fantastic although the graphics are what they are. the weapons are a big plus and tickles they destuctive nerve. recommended to buy in a bundle even if i didn't but its cheaper that way! overall very happy this got ported to vr so i can relive those days when i used to play this on a ipad (and was almost all i did with it)
