You spawn objects and weld them together to create your own contraptions - whether that's a car, a rocket, a catapult or something that doesn't have a name yet - that's up to you. You can do it offline, or join the thousands of players who play online each day.
If you're not too great at construction - don't worry! You can place a variety of characters in silly positions. But if you want to do more, we have the means.
Beyond the Sandbox
The Garry's Mod community is a tremendous source of content and has added hundreds of unique modes to the game. In Trouble In Terrorist Town, you can be a detective solving an online murder as criminals attempt to cover up their homicides. Be a ball, a plant, a chair, or anything else in Prop Hunt's elaborate, shape-shifting game of Hide & Seek. Elevator: Source is gaming's first elevator thrill ride, delivering players to airlocks and kitten dance parties.
We have one of the most vibrant Steam Community Workshops, with over 300'000 models, maps, and contraptions to download. It has everything from new tools to improve your builds, to guns that fire rainbow-tinged nuclear blasts from space. Take as much or as little as you need: it’s all free.

Garry's mod has been my favorite game for 10+ years will play it till the game dies out or a new version is created highly recommend.
there is literally nothing to do in this game and even if you install addons, its still bad because it takes 3 lifetimes to load
Good game also no people in multiplayer saying the n word and also no Nazi roleplay and My Little Pony roleplay except for one server I recommend this game and for other people even racing car people except that I'm black I would recommend this game because I am the first black person to play the game

Its a very good sandbox game and friends along with workshop addons make it better. Sometimes whenever Im in single player it just doesn't feel right. If you just want to play a good game with your friends give this a try.

Great sandbox game with a widely supported multiplayer community, Many different mini games and modes.
This game is my child hood and there will never be another game like this
I remember playing all the way back to gmod 9. Id say around 16-18 years ago is when I discovered it, I am now 28. I was a child but I had my hands on HL2DM which was a good fill till I finally got $10 to get this game.
And everything since then has been history. So many nights spent in RP servers, spending 24+ hours in one session. So many friends made, so many games played with friends from school. Deathrun servers when they first become popular.

The list can go on. The possibilities and amount of fun that this game has offered not to me but to millions of other people is un-measurable. I am beyond grateful that this game exists, and that Garry Newman and Valve made it happen. I have never been able to enjoy a game as much as I have had with Garry’s mod, and the half life series.

Man where do I begin?
Garrys mod has impacted my life by so much, either it be RP servers or sandbox shenanigans, those memories were priceless, such a shame most well known rp servers are being lost to time.
But in the end, I’ll never forget you.
cause if i load a map that i download it always crashes or doesnt load or it loads in but i still see the loading screen and its so annoying

One of the funnest games I've ever played with friends, definitely lasted the test of time and I'll probably be playing it for a while

One of the most amazing masterpieces. Not even two minutes in, and I fell in love with this. It can be anything you want. A sandbox (torture ragdolls), or an animation app, or a game by itself. An amazing (game??) app, and worth the frickin' money.

If you find the right server's that you can enjoy, then you will have a great time. Can't say enough that you should play with friends, as that's where most of the fun comes from. Some people take it too seriously, you just gotta deal with it.

So, im just going to say how this game is good. it is fun. it is not fun without mods. good price (said from someone who said it's overpriced). and it does not look good at all. if you do not get a shaders mod, you are not gonna like the look. half life 1 and 2 actually look better and they are from the 2000's. graphic mods are mostly things that break the game. titt is good (trouble in terrorist town) and prop hunt is also good. game is done for cant download ANY mods every single one that i downloaded ends up in the problems section in the main menu this is ridiculous and ive checked the addons there is not any base pack that you could download the mods dont even show up in game horrible too many problems
This game is perfect. Because of Workshop It has lots of replaying Methods Wiremod makes it much more fun and i dont regret for playing 442.6 hours.

For the many years that i have had a PC, i have never really found myself buying thuis game because either that i dont have the mooley or i forget about the game's existance, but i seriously believe that if you have never played this game before. Please get it.
The game is also very fun with friends so i recommend either playing with friends that have the game, or find friends who will play the game.
