You spawn objects and weld them together to create your own contraptions - whether that's a car, a rocket, a catapult or something that doesn't have a name yet - that's up to you. You can do it offline, or join the thousands of players who play online each day.
If you're not too great at construction - don't worry! You can place a variety of characters in silly positions. But if you want to do more, we have the means.
Beyond the Sandbox
The Garry's Mod community is a tremendous source of content and has added hundreds of unique modes to the game. In Trouble In Terrorist Town, you can be a detective solving an online murder as criminals attempt to cover up their homicides. Be a ball, a plant, a chair, or anything else in Prop Hunt's elaborate, shape-shifting game of Hide & Seek. Elevator: Source is gaming's first elevator thrill ride, delivering players to airlocks and kitten dance parties.
We have one of the most vibrant Steam Community Workshops, with over 300'000 models, maps, and contraptions to download. It has everything from new tools to improve your builds, to guns that fire rainbow-tinged nuclear blasts from space. Take as much or as little as you need: it’s all free.

Garry's Mod has to be one of the best sandbox games on Steam. It is a Source game, and uses mostly Half-Life 2 and has over a one million and eight hundred mods. Being able to do anything in an open-world game is amazing. You can use a soda can as a thruster on the back of a sofa with 300 headcrabs on it. By anything, I am not even joking. Create anything you can think of. You can set up a three-way battle between the Combine, Resistance and zombies. Take my word. ANYTHING. The game also has Multiplayer and you can play other Source games on it.
,i liked All of the mods and special features built into the game. by itself with no mods is kinda scary like gm construct in the dark places but over all it is a really good game.
in this game you can do wathever you want its fun multiplayer and good just dont put an atomic bomb in your car

Only the goofiest and silliest sandbox game, very fun with friends or chilling testing addons. Does have an eerie atmosphere on your own but hey ho, fill the void with bouncy balls or something. Just plain ol fun!! You get out of what you put in the game pretty much!!
You like doing dumb stuff don't you? Garry's mod is for you! Do the most random stupid thing that you're thinking of and do it! And if you want a Single-player/Multi-player fun, get the big maze and nextbots... and try to survive! killed some time on this!
this game is one of the most memorable things i have ever played,
countless weapons and entities, many maps, endless possibilities, etc.
the only bad thing i have to say is how you make the mods. (more specifically, importing models.)
i don't know if i was doing something wrong, but making playermodels in this game is WAY more tedious than it should be.
if you don't know what a playermodel is, it's basically what you use to customize your character in a way.
want to be spongebob? go for it!
want to be spy from tf2 with a melon replacing his torso? sure thing!
how about sonic the hedgehog? all you gotta do to find all of these playermodels is to look in the "models" genre in the workshop!
want to make the playermodels yourself? you have to get 3 separate programs besides blender. one for importing images, one for editing notes, and one for compiling the files. (there's probably another program you need, but it's been months since i checked.)
unfortunately because of burnout and not knowing what to do, i never got to publishing the playermodel.
i don't even know how modders deal with it.
but other than that, i adore this game for technically being half life 2: creative mode.
if you're gonna be an ordinary player, be wary of the servers, specifically darkRP.
if you want to be a modder, be prepared.

Amazing game, i've modded this with realism and can run the game smoothly, although my pc might make some huge fan noises, it's still worth it. (homigrad is the best multiplayer gamemode)

Oddly Nostalgic game, esspecially for millenials/gen z who played half-life in their earlier years, also very nostalgic for any eastern european. Still, suits anybody pretty much, with its' infinite sandbox capabilities. All sorts of mods and maps... 10x the fun with friends.

This game is so addicting. It's like I can never stop playing it because of how good it is and how fun it is but the only problem is the price, in my Country its expensive but it's worth it
bought this game when i was 10 with my own money and the addons and even the base game with no mods is very fun and really gives you a lot of tools to do whatever you want on construct, i never had any friends that play gmod but i did play it with my bro a lot and it was very fun, its the go to sandbox game for anyone who wants a semi realistic goofy sandbox game

Its fun when your playing with friends. sometimes multiplayer can be boring but it can also be fun I like hide n seek in multiplayer most tho so maybe try that out.

Great selection of custom maps and add-ons to choose from. You can customise your experince with add-ons and settings. Personally I like playing liminal space and atmospheric horror maps. its impressive what you can do with source mapping,
it is sooooooooooo fun, the addons are amazing, the weapons are realistic, and great to play with friends
its better played multiplayer and with mods, but still fun.
It is a very realistic fun game, I can't even name how many times i just get bored of other games and I never get bored with this. I love how many mods there are so that you can do whatever you want to do whenever you wanna do it.
