Explore the ruins of the Wurstwurld amusement park. Solve puzzles, complete extreme horseshoe challenges, stand off against robit bandits and collect old logs that reveal the background on the most foolhardy and most assuredly not child safe amusement park doomed to failure.
Meat Grinder
Survive the Meat Grinder, the very first game mode added to H3 back in 2016. Navigate by flashlight through a surreal hellish fast food themed maze, collect precious ammo, defending against animatronic assailants, and dragging the ‘meat’ back to the Grinder in time.

Best VR gun game ever made in my opinion. (I've played pavlov, onward, gun club vr, etc. and this one is just so much better)
It's the most realistic gun playground you can ask for, which made me, an European, more knowledgeable about guns than an average American. What a time to be alive.
This game is a 100% yes, recommendation.
I hadnt realized I didnt write a review yet, but the new Bullshoot mode made me want to.
I would even recommend this game SOLELY based on the Bullshoot mode existing. If you ignore every other massive pieces of content this game has, the Bullshoot mode on its own is worth the asking price of the full game.
Its genuinely some of the most fun Ive had in VR.
Outside of that, most of your time will be spent in the "rogue-like" mode, Take and Hold. I would say around 70 of my hours in this game are in that mode. Getting (at the time of writing) 94 hours out of ANY VR game, is absolutely insane and extremely rare. Getting 94 hours out of a 20 dollar VR game, is even more unheard of.
Typically VR games just do not have that level of staying power, but this one absolutely does, and its not even finished yet (technically, but any other developer would call this finished, but anton is not just any other developer).
Game is fantastic. Anton is an amazing dev who has so much love for his game, and the community. Literally my only complaint is that it's VR only, and that's not even against Anton or the game, but solely because VR options right now just suck (Do you want expensive as hell, or terrible software that doesn't work half the time?). I want a desktop version of Take and Hold SO BADLY

i think the idea of shooting sausages instead of people is a much neede refresher from every other vr shooter
not to mention it adds a humerous twist to the usually gory fps shooter genre
theres TONS of guns in this game, realistic guns, funny guns, hell theres even a handheld steel reinforced pringle launcher (im not joking)
and thats just GUNS. theres the typical attachments like scopes. grips. silencers. but theres also stuff like a train whistle silencer, christmas light attachments and much more.
not to mention the gamemodes, theres a wide variety of gamemodes ranging from a sandbox to test out guns to a (as of writing innaccesible) work in progress hitman like gamemode (watch anton hand's devlogs for more info)

joking side Anton has poured his heart and soul into this game and its just as incredible as everyone said it was, so glad i finally get to try it with my own hands. If you have a VR headset and you want a sandbox to really push the limits of your system, give this game a shot.

This game is a VR shooter killer. I've tried buying and playing multiple other VR shooters and none can compete with this one. It plays great on my mid-tier system (both modded and vanilla) and I’d imagine it would still be a solid experience on a lesser rig. I have been keeping up with the weekly dev logs for quite some time now and it's very clear that Anton (the dev) cares for this game a lot. An unprecedented amount of detail is put into this that screams “I love what I do!”. The updates are frequent and he’s very open about what he’s working on. As someone who has a tistic love of firearms, being able to operate the plethora of historical and modern pieces of kit is remarkable considering 95% or more of the guns in the game wouldn’t be able to be owned legally where I’m from *sigh*…Canada. I keep coming back to it so I highly recommend it if you enjoy them even somewhat. The game is a sandbox with a ton of stuff for you to try.
I just recently got into modding the game and it gave it a new and exciting world for me to dig a hole to put myself into - modular firearms. Being able to build one from scratch in whatever style, length, and caliber I want has given me a whole new level of love for what this game can do. Plus it gives the ability to play new game modes on completely different maps than what are in vanilla. Zombies - yup, supply raid/take and hold on a 747 - uh huh, and tons more to try. I can’t recommend this game enough. It could cost 3x what it does now, and it still would be worth it IMO.

My god, this game, made by ONE amazing man over the course of 8 years, has gotten features non fuckin stop to the point that if you were to only ever get ONE VR game. This could be be. Its the best gun simulator on the market, its got amazing climbing and locomotion, its got really good and satisfying melee combat, stealth and h2h gameplay. Its got horde shooters, it has rougelike pve modes, its got a survival horror level, its got a fuckin full on zombie game within a game, its got a westen game within a game, its got boss fights and toys galore. My god even without the excellent modding scene this is THE best vr game i have ever had the joy to play

10/10 the only way i'll ever be able to safely interact with firearms.

Everytime i play this game i quake in pleasure. I spasm out and my body shakes extremely rapidly. I begin to scream. This game gives me a violent response everytime i play it. Do not buy.

I bought H3 in late 2017, and whenever I take a few months' break after a binge & come back I feel like I've bought a DLC pack with real money for how much content was added into the game. Except I didn't, because all the updates have been free, and I've been enjoying a small group's passion project grow and grow for 7 years straight and it's just beautiful.
No DLC, no drama, no game-ruining updates. Just guns and fun, as the Founding Fathers intended.

This frequently updated and highly detailed weapon simulation is the best available on the market, offering a selection of different ranges from the comfort of your own home. Featuring a sizable variety of modes and weapons in addition to mod support, this level of fidelity almost feels like a steal for the price tag.

To date the best VR shooter out there, guns feel responsive, accurate and intuitive. The customiseability is incredible and the amount of options is just insane. The only bad thing to say about this game is that after playing it any other VR shooter feels clunky and the controls on those games will be confusing. H3VR has to become THE standard for controller layout/customization for VR to become mainstream (AAA)

i have seen lots of videos of this over the years the last time i played this feb 5 it was lagging due to the internet connection between my oculus quest 2 (its like 3 years old got it the same month it came out)
Guns... funny cool VA lines... and more guns.. very epic indeed.
I'm not the biggest gun nut, I try to stay away from realistic games that involve real wars and things. That being said I really enjoy this game, with and without mods. The base game alone is hours of gameplay if you enjoy skill based VR games. Going to the range and tweaking the little bits and gadgets, learning how the simulated long range shooting works, and all the little bits and side things in the game are really fantastic. With mods the game is just stellar, so many weird and fun guns are added to the game and there's a few guns that they've made to have a clear case so you can see the mechanisms in the gun. There's also a great handful of fantasy guns in the game (my favs are a tossup between the Blade Runner revolver and the Malcolm's pistol from Firefly).
The devs love this game and it really shows. If you want one of the best bangs for your buck for VR put this game on your list.

H3VR is a fun game but focuses heavily on gun enthusiasts, therefore the weapon choices are no CoD because,
last I checked, CoD didn't have significantly more than needed MP5 variants.
Depending on who you ask, this is good. If you just ask the regular VR Joe, there is a good chance he will not find this game amusing for longer than maybe an hour or two.
What makes the dogs so hot?
The game has certain game modes that are infinitely replayable, such as Take and Hold. Other modes aren't as replayable for the regular person but still fun, like Bullshoot. There are even more game modes which are less popular and which I haven't even played yet, but Take and Hold and Bullshoot are amongst the most popular. There are also the regular plinking modes which go without saying.
What horses the shoe?
The guns in this game are crazy with how realistic or ridiculous some can be. You can have a biblically accurate musket and a break-action, rainbow colored, YOLO-sighted, 2011 chambered in .50 BMG in the same loadout and only your friends would ask about your missed-out therapy visits. Not only that, it also has rocket launchers that took me playing a tutorial to figure out how to use (im looking at you... FIM-92 Stinger..)
These 2 points are your puzzle pieces to enjoy the game, fun game modes and stupid weaponry.
However, nothing goes without criticism
What Grenades the Hand
My main 2 issues come from a political and technological realm.
Let's start off with the more common issue being Hardware.
H3VR has a lot of features locked being having a controller that uses a touchpad and not a joystick, if you want to play like you would any other VR shooter, you need to sacrifice some features that would be cool to have, like spinning your revolver, de-cocking/cocking hammered pistols, etc.
This game is also decently unfriendly to Quest 2 controllers, as they are joystick-based controllers and also have the huge tracking rings, making some guns feel like Hell on Earth to operate.
The issue that some people will definitely disagree with is the politics. Certain weapons that would be a dream to be able to use virtually, like the AK-50, will not be added because of Brandon Herrera's, the gunsmith behind the AK-50, political views, but also the political views of his now gone reddit page. However, the politics of the devs doesn't affect the game so much that it's an anti-woke, anti-left circlejerk, nor a game where the hot dogs are transgender or something.
TL;DR
Game is fun for those who are gun enthusiasts, less fun for those who aren't. Still a sliver of enjoyment available for those who aren't as interested in guns. Not very Quest 2 friendly, but the unfriendliness comes from a few weapon types, so not the end of the world.

Next to limitless gun sandbox. There's absolutely no story or sense of progression but the weapons are so fun to customize and use that I don't even care.
Bought it for Meat Fortress since I am a TF2 fan. I was not disappointed, not only is Meat Fortress incredible but the whole game is. I strongly recommend this game if you have VR.

I've played many VR games both old and new and I've yet to find a game that has a better form of proper firearm handling/operation, Anton (The creator of H3VR) is the best!

Best gun/range simulator out there, and is still in early access, wish other games were this good upon release
The most entertaining and fun weapon VR simulation I've ever seen.
As a shooter, I can say that the guns in this game are super good and feel like real ones (except that you won't feel the weight of the gun, but if you have something like rifle-controller it won't be such a deal). Also the fact that you can install a lot of mods to diverse your gameplay is pretty cool. Plus, developers release regular updates and keep in touch with the community, which is actually a very good manner.
Overall, if you want an interesting, fun and realistic VR gunplay bundled with sandbox, this game is totally for you. There are so many ways to play, especially with mods, that you'll never get bored.
