- Third Person Mode We are currently working on improving our third person view.
Roadmap
Thank you for your feedback. This roadmap is an overview of planned features for the game based on user feedback. Please note that this is not finalized and is subject to change.- Improved Core Architecture and Input System Migration We are working to migrate to a superior input module as well as improving the game's core architecture. The new input module should improve game-pad support.
- More Complex NPC Interactions We are working on adding meaningful interactions between the player and NPCs. These interactions will include simple dialogues and will vary by scenario.
- Factions and Public Opinion We are working on shaping the game to be based off of factions and a form of public opinion. We want your actions in the game to shape how NPCs react to you. We are also planning on allowing the player to choose / shape which faction they are a part of.
- Native Americans Native American artwork and NPC behavior is under development.
- Road Networks and Travelers We are planning on adding clearly defined trails to the game with wandering travelers, bandits that rob people, etc.
- NPC Recruiting / Hiring We are planning on allowing the player to hire NPCs to assist them in their adventures.
- Better Survival Equipment and Interactions We are working on adding more survival items. This will include individual foods, more tools, and more inventory items. We are also designing new interactions for existing and future tools. For example, we want to make tasks such as lighting a fire or cooking more interactive.
- Weapon Variety We will be adding more weapons / weapon variants to the game.
- Pick Your Own Adventure We want to give the player greater choice in what role they do in the game. We will be adding various activities or jobs that will shape the player's role. We would like to add tasks like farming, shipment escorting, ranching, buying properties, etc.
- More Activities and Scenarios / Missions We are planning on expanding the number of activities in the game. We would like to add activities such as rodeos, ranch management, farming, gambling, etc. We are also designing various scenarios / additional missions.
- Character Customization We are planning on adding some form of character customization to the game.
- Improved Graphics and Lighting With the release of Unity 2019.1, we will be migrating to a new and improved graphics rendering module.
- Injury Mobility Limitations Currently the player decreased vision when hurt. We would like to extend this to include limitations based on injuries to certain body parts. For example, if the player is shot in the leg they should move slower.
- Saddle Bags, Stashes, and Inventory Improvements We are planning to add features such as saddle bags, saddle holsters, and loot stashes where gear can be stored.
- More, better sound effects We are planning on improving our sound effects and adding more sound effects.
- Mac & Linux (Debian) Support We would like to have full Mac, Linux, and Windows 10 cross-platform support. Note: we only intend on supporting x64 versions of these operating systems.
- Better Wildlife Better wildlife are under development to ensure a more realistic experience.
- Better Artwork We are currently overhauling our animals, character art, and other game assets to be more realistic.
- Better In-game UI We will be making the user interface easier to use, more aesthetically pleasing, and more compatible with game-pads.
- More Maps We have a series of maps planned that are currently under development.
Being Researched, To Be Determined
These features are being researched as possible additions to the game.- A Separate Multiplayer / Co-op Game Mode The addition of a multiplayer mode depends on a lot of factors and will only be done after we have created a solid single-player experience. Any addition of multiplayer / co-op would be treated as a separate game mode and will not effect the single-player game mode.
That being said, the changes we are making to the game's core architecture have been designed with networking in mind. We are designing the game to allow for the addition of a separate multiplayer mode. - Basic Modding Support Mods support is under research and the extent of what kinds of mods could / should be added to the game is still being determined.
- Improved Core Architecture and Input System Migration We are working to migrate to a superior input module as well as improving the game's core architecture. The new input module should improve game-pad support.

**DON'T BUY THIS GAME**
It has been abandoned by the developer. It had years of promises of a massive overhaul that has never come, save your money.
20 bucks for a buggy game no worth it.Most of the buildings are empty.İts hard to ride horse.it still needs a lot more improvement then you can play it.its fun actually if you success to survive
Just reread the reviews of this game and I seem to be the only person who has noticed that the promo video looks nothing like the game you have just forked out a fair wad of money for. . So much worse.. That its Unity. That it runs roughly and it's nothing like what I thought I was buying but mostly it looks like crap....Refunded...
I see big potential in this game! Pretty good gunplay so far , transparent roadmap & community focussed Devs.
Sierra Madre: The Wild West is at the time of this review, still in very early access but it is already showing signs of great potential. Broken Dream Studios are very willing to listen to suggestions and are very quick to reply to them that gives me the impression that they are committed to making a success of this game.
They continue to work on the game and to make improvements and I am confident that the game will move forward very quickly and will become more than a worthwhile purchase.
Maybe still not playable enough for some in it's present format but playable all the same.
I would suggest that you check out the latest You Tube video's and keep updated on the games progress.
wanted to like it but it is so clunky, so little to do and the game has the feel of a game made in 2001, set on ultra graphics it looks like a half life 1 mod
(refunded, definately not worth the price)
a nice wild west experiance, needs more to do though.
VERY communicative and active devs.
Only real complaint is that the world can feel kinda dead sometimes, possible ways to fix this:
-More wildlife
-give the trading posts in the wilderness some purpose, maybe adda little fishing village around the one near the lake or a small mine next to ones out in the mountains
-ability to buy drink (and maybe get a bit tipsy) at the saloons
-give the towndpeople some purpose, walking from building to building instead of just wandering aimlessley
-more varied town layouts
But thats just my 2 cents, good game, a bit steep with the price but it goes to support the devs and it would be great to see this game really flourish
(EDIT: I created a discussion thread, and within 24minutes, I timed it, the developers replied to my question. That goes to show just how active these devs are.)
Has good potential..If the Dev's keep updating it, look for it to be a great game. Needs more interaction in towns, such as gunfights and interaction with towns folk. I think there is a large community of ex-players of Wild West Online that might be looking for that Old West experience they didnt get with that game. I'm impressed so far. look forward to the future of the game. With imagination, and added features true to the Old West genre, think it could be a real game-changer.
The developer has fixed the crash and now the game works perfectly.
I love the game so far
The mechanics could be more simplified especially because it has gamepad support in-game but it does not work with the UI.
The developer has assured me that there is a roadmap and alot of quality of life will be put into the game in future updates.
There is a good amount of content but I feel the structure could be better.
The missions are kind of ok like go to the sheriff office and get missions
Liberate town
Make delivers
And I think the other is hunting.
That being said it can get a little boring.
There are about 7 guns and nothing special like tiers quality of guns.
The food system is fairly simple water system is good.
Crafting is not really a thing since all you do is place a campfire and cook meat and boil water.
There are no tiers in horses so that is standard.
Wild life is a good balance.
I would recommend you wait for more updates as I feel the game is overpriced but the reason I stuck with it is the fact I feel the developer is going to put in the work and listen to the community and try to implement the suggestions given.
I will recommend the game but also recommend you wait for two more big updates then I will update my review.
Graphics: 4/5
Gameplay: 3/5
Mechanics: 3/5
Content: 3.5/5
Frame rate: 5/5
Overall: 18.5/25
good game love it just would reccoment a few things
1. more guns, the lack of gun veriety (cant spell) hurts me
2.save points in hotels or saloon
3. ADD GODDAM BRIDGES HOLY SHIT it is annoying and not very immersive when whenever i want to cross to another place or do a wagon mission i have to swim each and every time
4. more enemy types, like add indians or something
5. maybe a karma system? like if you kill a whole town send bounty hunters? i dont know if this is already a thing but i killed an entire town and no one cared
Needs a lot of polish and some more substance. I would compare this to the western mod for Mount & Blade, and that has a lot more in it already with the same graphics and more substance. I see where they want to go with it, but I can't really reccomend it when you can get Mount & Blade for the same price, and basically get this game with one mod installation plus the whole of the M&B world. I also fell through the world three times trying to get to one quest. The gun play had no real weight to it other than slight travel time for the pistols. I just used the starter winchester and rolled my way over packs of bandits.
The UI is horrible, game play is worst, ambushed every 5 seconds, loot from enemies despawns within a minute, inventory has no information on anything. Alot of functions have no keybind Eg. no map key, always have to go to your inventory to switch things around. I've only returned a two games this is the second. Do not recommend at all. I do understand this is EA but there's so many better ways to handle the problems i have before even releasing the game. Sorry creators but i don't see how you can ask this much for a game even on sale.
Just a heads up this game is very, very early access. You can check out a First Impressions video I made here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cPVn7ikTTc
I still do recommend this game as it has so much potential and the details they included with thirst and hunger for the survival mechanics. It is quite challenging though as you will get killed a lot (3 shots to be exact). I shot a couple bandits off horses went on a wagon mission, and helped so villagers fight off some bandits all in an hour.
Some tips that I learned
1. Keep your horses stamina preserved so unless you need to gallop, don't (you can't actually see their stamina yet). Your going to need it outlaws start chasing you.
2. You can't get wood from chopping trees, only from the trade store (I spent 20 minutes attacking a tree with a hatchet before I realised this).
3. Everything will kill you (I got mauled by a ram while trying to get to the next trade post).
3. Save as much as possible because you will probably be killed quite a few times, and we don't want you to go back to far.
4. The towns people are a-holes and won't help you kill outlaws.
That is all incredibly fun game and I can't wait to see what more buildings, features, and weapons are released. 10/10
Here's my play session:

Not bad for an early access game!
I was having a lot of fun with my little play session!
It shows promise! I do wish the horses were faster.
Keep up the good work Devs! I really like the feel of this game :)
Spawned in, went to find the Sheriff for some missions. Couldn't find him in town, so went out to explore- but not after shooting some nosy townsfolk. Saw one of them hogs, so I put 'er down real quick. Hear shootin in the distance and what do I see? 'ol Sheriff takin on three bandits. Quite the rodeo with them bandits. They sure know how to duck and weave, all kinds of fancy maneuverin. Went back to town to set up a campfire for the night. Tryin to boil some water and all of sudden, there's six or seven of the Barne's Brothers from 'ol Jack's ranch coming up over the horizon. I had time to duck behind some logs and fight back, but them boys were relentless. Stomped right up on me and put me down.
Uninstalled for now.
THIS IS EXTREMELY EARLY ACCESS so please think twice before buying and reveiw bombing something potentially great. That being said, I very much enjoy the ideas behind this game. The atmosphere is great and the future is bright for something of this caliber, if the devs work hard and keep the community close, I think we have a real gem in the works here. But as for now if your interested in investing in what appears to be the wild west rpg we all have been asking for here is your chance. As for gameplay there is a good little bit of exploring and earning money, but i digress its extremely early access so its not the most fluid or beautiful. I look forward to future updates and will be following closely.
I absolutely love this game's environment! The skies, the lakes, the trees are all beautiful. As I ride along I can here the clop clop clop of my horse's hooves and the sounds of birds. The towns are good old fashioned wild west fun! They have saloons, dancing girls, and everything.
Some things could be improved. The enemy ai are crackshots at the moment and the towns people could be improved.
Overall the game is pretty good and I would definitely recommend it as it has HUGE POTENTIAL!
Well, I feel silly. I tried again. It is great!!
It is a true survival game. Dont sight see to long.....
Update: After the first User Feedback Update, the AI no longer jumps around too much (in fact, they were somewhat nerfed, so they could be better optimized in a future update). The game also runs at the highest graphics settings on systems with the Recommended Specifications (though the anti-aliasing could be improved)!

I usually don't write lengthy game reviews on Steam, but feel that it is important to do so for early access games. I have followed the development of this game from the very beginning and I cannot say I am an unbiased reviewer, but still feel I can offer valuable insight to potential buyers.
I was impressed with the visual quality of the screenshots from the Dev's and I was not disappointed while playing the game, though there a few areas where a greater diversity of textures could have been used. In terms of game play, within the first 5 minutes of playing I was driving a wagon across the map and fleeing gunmen who had gotten into a skirmish with the local townspeople and a bear. The saloon is active, but nothing can be purchased in it. In fact, trading posts and the jail are the only places to interact within the towns.
I was most surprised at just how complete it feels for an early access, but also feel it will quickly need to have content added in the future so players don't get bored. My biggest complaint are the expexted bugs including navigating while on the wagon. It is near impossible to read the map while the wagon is moving. After moving away from the central lake, water is hard to find, so being able to create caches arounf the map would be helpful.
Pros:
Wild West game that actually works on PC.
Good Authentic Shooting Action.
Diverse animals and periodic ambushes keeps things interesting.
Nice graphics and asthetics.
Runs well on a mid-level system on pretty high settings.
Entertaining.
Discount on an already attractive price.
Landmarks must be used during navigation.
Cons:
AI jump around a lot while fighting (it's not a bug, but they like dodging bullets).
Some of the small animals have ridiculous hit points (chickens and rabbits for example).
Navigating from the wagon can be difficult.
The in-game economy might allow players to survive for a long long time if they complete two or three missions.
I would recommend this to a friend, but also feel that this game has a very much "early access feeling" to it.
I also wish Steam offered a starring system instead of "Yes" or "No."
4/5 Stars.
Review Update - 2018-12-29
The lastest update was major improvement. I really like the new HUD / Inventory and the new wagon. The game now loads in 1/2 to 1/3 of the time. I now getting better frames then before.
The weather is improved with rain and wind blowing the grass and trees around.
It keeps getting better and better................
The only problem in many many hours of play is one or two times the game crashed on exit - no problem - no big deal.... all game is still there next time. Hasn't happened recently so I assume this is fixed.

Original Review -
So far EXCELLENT.... I started out on a wagon mission and I'm having a blast. Got into a shoot out with bad guys - much fun! I'm still learning the inventory system, etc.
I have all graphics on Ultra and getting 70+ frames -> i5 7500, 8 gigs ram, 1060 with 6 gigs.
LOOKS GREAT!
Shot a baddy off a horse 10 out of 10.
