It’s the kind of town where you dig your own grave prior to being shot in the head and left for dead…and that’s before things really get ugly. It’s a town of dreamers and desperados being torn apart by warring factions vying for complete control of this desert oasis. It’s a place where the right kind of person with the right kind of weaponry can really make a name for themselves, and make more than an enemy or two along the way.
As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon drenched Vegas Strip, you’ll be introduced to a colorful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures and much more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare “winner takes all” and crown yourself the King of New Vegas in this follow-up to the 2008 videogame of the year, Fallout 3.
Enjoy your stay.

Best first person RPG of all time hands down.
Fallout: New Vegas will remain as my all time favorite Fallout game and video game that has ever graced the shelves of the physical and digital world. So much so that Obsidian has never seemed to make anything worth writing home about again. (Sorry Obsidian). Anyway I thought about making a joke review but I can't bring myself to do it for something that has brought me immense joy. Look up any retrospective on YouTube to see why this game is so great. I also wanted to say that I didn't initially like FNV but upon forcing myself to get to the areas around the strip I fell in love with it, so get passed Novac at least people! Another thing is it has aged poorly in the technical side of things so don't give up instantly but it will crash here and there for everyone!
if you love games with replayability then this is the game for you currently on my 3rd run and its still just as fun as the first one
Played the game without any dlcs or mods.
It's really fun to play at times, graphics are a bit dated but the dialogue is fun and I believe this game holds up to this day.
There is a shit ton of glitches that can make the game difficult to play at times.
Overall pretty fun to play.
Fun game with many different endings. I have replayed it many times and still enjoy coming back to it. Some issues with crashes but not bad.
A masterclass in gaming, actiona rpgs, Bethesda games, and Fallout games. How they did not try to absorb Obsidian Entertainment after this game I will not know. Maybe it's the same reason they didn't give the team behind it their bonus. Nowadays we look back on this game very fondly, but it received a rather luke-warm response on release. Like, i understand everyone was still coming off the high of Fallout 3 but that game is a laughable grey mess after experiencing this game. It's one of the few times in gaming that solving conflicts with words was actually satisfying, because i had genuinely become invested in the decisions of characters in the world. They felt so REAL that I wanted to know SO BADLY what they thought about different things. And the setup for the plot is so instantly gripping and iconic that i want nothing more than to see Benny's face in the god damn ground, and the writers have the AUDACITY and not to mention the talent to make me second guess that decision when it comes time to make it. I have yet to fully experience the DLCs, so I won't comment on them yet, but the base game experience here is SO GOOD on it's own that I doubt any of them could be bad enough to drag that down. The day i completed my first playthrough it was an instant addition to my top 10. The only issues that give me any sort of grief, I luckily can fix with mods. I highly recommend the Open Strip (if you can find it) and a sprint mod of some kind. Outside of that, i can't really find a flaw.
9/10 without mods
10/10 with mods.
I played for 9 hours straight the first time I booted this up. Buy the game.
The only thing I warn of is that this game is a buggy piece of shit and crashes more the better computer you have, so save often and be prepped for glitches.
Also get someone to guide you through the first bit of the game if you have the option, it helps a lot since you're kinda thrown into the deep end for the most part.
Anyways buy the damn game.
There is not much more that I could add to the conversation. Everybody know this is a great game. It's possibly one of the greatest games in gaming.
It has a captivating story that gives you a wide range of options. The writing is some of the best the series has to offer. The gunplay is fun, while a bit dated. And it has a community that puts endless effort into making mods to continue the lifespan of this game.
Highly recommend.
Fantastic game. I have a total of 76 hours on this game despite what it says on steam.
Pros:
Amazing world
Great characters
Great story
Very fun
Cons:
Some times you may come across on graphical bugs
And one commune issue is the game save bug, this is when the game is stuck on the loading screen when trying to load to a game save.
great story, awsome charicters, its really fun.
It's the best Fallout game, despite the gameplay improvements that Fallout 4 made. It's also $20.
its really awesome i like it and its really fun only downside for me is idk how to download mods so that part is pretty restricted
i lost all my money at the atomic cassino. worst game ever. i want a refund. also where is the option to kiss manny?
Game itself is fantastic but you need to download a lot of stability mods because it's optimised horribly for newer machines. Don't buy unless you're willing to mod the game
The best Fallout game in my opinion, amazing story, okay but dated gameplay, fantastic factions, a tone to do and explore, alot of player freedom and choice. And the best part is that it can be modded to your liking, using Vortex mod manager, the easiest way to mod the game/ Would highly reccomend giving New Vegas a try
One of the all times greats.
Most immersive game I've ever played, when i'm playing i feel like i'm impacting a real alive world.
Choosing how to affect the fate of the post-war mojave feels like a real big decision.
The guns are better than any other Fallout game (Fight me) they all click and are satisfying to shoot.
The RPG elements are great, bringing back traits from the first two fallout games and making the skills system (objectively)
better.
Only (minor) negative is the game crashes alot but that can be fixed easily with mods
Overall
10/10 Buy it right now
fantastic story and not too difficult once you get the hang of it. a classic with amazing DLC, EVERYONE should at least give this one good go I think. Modding it makes it even better, but I highly encourage a full vanilla run before tinkering!
Howdy pardner! 10/10 best Bethesda Fallout game which means it was in fact not developed by Bethesda. This game is the only 'modern' Fallout game that manages to combine the old Fallout style with a 3D world. Play this and pretend no newer games exist :) See ya round, buckaroo.
The game is good after you patch it (Viva new Vegas was my choice) the DLCs are good but the game itself gets boring the more i reach the end, it is a bethesda product and it shows.
Overall i give it a 7/10
Best Fallout game to date but is unplayable on modern machines. Goggle Viva New Vegas and follow it step by step to able to have an enjoyable experience.
Fallout: New Vegas belongs in the hall of fame of RPG games. My first game in the series was Fallout 4 and I really liked it. I would see Fallout: New Vegas every now and again on the Steam store but completely ignore it since it appeared outdated compared to 4. I was truly deceived.
Before I continue I want to mention that my playthrough was completely vanilla. I had no mods at all installed.
It took me a few hours to get into the momentum of this game. I was not super focused on the story or dialog, skipping through it in order to get to the action quicker. I kept thinking "These graphics suck" and "This gun play is lame." But on hour 4, something just clicked. I started reading the dialog, understanding the story, exploring and reading misc items. It all flowed so well, and not only that, it was fun. Learning about the different factions was genuinely interesting. Finding a random town, vault, camp, outpost, etc. they all felt unique. Every single character I came across had their own story and purpose, each offering different quests. Not only that, the world changes as you progress and you actually witness it in your surroundings.
The quests were actually good. The quests did not simply consist of "fetch me this" or "eliminate that." Each one had a plot, some even twists. A large majority of quests even let YOU decide how to play it through. There is optional objectives that will lead to a different end result. Sometimes you'd have to pick to help one over the other. You could use violence or you could be peaceful using speech. There are so many ways to go through each quest line which only allows for more replayability.
Compared to Fallout 4, this game's quests and world actually have a soul. (I do not mention this only to compare, but also because there are many Fallout 4 fans that might view New Vegas as outdated based off the Steam store.)
This is a must play game. If you are not used to games like this, it might take a few hours to truly invest yourself in it. Once you do though, you will enjoy every hour of it. Can't wait to play the DLC. 10/10
love the game, actually. but this STEAM version does not support mods. i wanted to drive vehicles. i wanted the cool guns. i wanted player-created DLC. have to buy the game outside of STEAM if you want the added joy of mods, which totally change the game btw...
the storytelling in Fallout New Vegas is so good, and with mods, --it’s like a 'comfort zone' I keep revisiting again and again
One of the best story games I've played, Fun and lots of stuff to do. But it does crash and freeze quite often.
Best fallout just moved over from xbox definitly a better experience especially with all the mod options
Peak gaming. Couldn't recommend more. This game is so good that you won't be able to enjoy any other Fallout game ever again. Finishing Fallout 4 was a chore to me. I am physically unable to play Fallout 3 because New Vegas is so peak. A game of this quality will never again be made. Bethestards are seething.
A list of features New Vegas has that Fallout 3 lacks:
-Iron sights
-A likeable radio host
-Nuanced writing
-Nuanced moral conundrums
-A setting faithful to the original lore
-Original factions
-Accurate depictions of Super Mutants
-A weapon repair system that doesn't make you want to kill yourself
-An opening sequence and tutorial that doesn't make you want to kill yourself (and is for the most part skippable)
-Over 100 more weapons than Fallout 3 (DLCs included (GRA moddable variants not included))
-Unpredictable crashes (keeps you on your toes)
-A rabidly loyal fanbase with a superiority complex
-Skill based speech checks
-Objectively better music options
-No disgusting green tint
Just watch hbomberguy's videos on it if you have a spare 3 hours
If you like any of the Fallout games and haven't played New Vegas yet, I highly recommend it. Very fun lots of different choices.
Spent more time playing it on console, only recently bought it for PC and started playing it with mods. Worth every cent. If you want a good, solid, immersive, story-driven game and you're a fallout fan, then this is for you. 9.5/10
IMPORTANT: If you do get this game for PC (and especially if you intend on using mods), find and download a mod from NexusMods called "FNV 4GB Patcher". Without this mod, playing the game is somewhat impossible on newer systems (I tried playing without this mod and I couldn't load any saves I made, the game just crashed every time).
Apart from that, happy trails :)
Possibly the most iconic first person shooter survival game of all time. If you've never played it, do yourself a favor and buy it. Probably the thing this game has above most other games is flavor.
Once you get some mods to make it stop crashing every single fucking minute, its quite fun <3
Absolutely a great game in the Fallout series. However, if you run Windows 11, this game is not playable. It either crashes after 10-15 minutes, or it will freeze while on a loading page.
DO NOT BUY UNTIL PATCHED. Still nothing as of 10/26/2024.
i dont care what people say about this game being a "masterpeice"this is a buggy mess of a game. one thing goes wrong and the game autistically spergs out and refuses to work. what do you expect from a game by bathesda. fucking $10 stolen
Really good game, Once you get rid of the bugs and crashes with a few mods.
Everyone says this game is one of the greats but i cant get it to run. Theres guides for mods to stabilize the game but it just keeps crashing. Only reason i have to give a thumbs down. im sad.
FNV is one of the best.
People complain they need to add fix and mods to run the game properly. DUDE IT'S A 14 YEAR OLD GAME, what do you even expect?
I'd rather spend time modding FNV to make it work than falling asleep to countless loading screens in Starfield.
Probably one of the funniest and well written games I've played.
Would strongly recommend looking at some mods tho, especially the Fallout 4 loot system.
Grew up playing this game on PS3 for thousands of hours. got my pc and modded it and it became even better. My favorite game of all time. 10/10
It's a classic for a reason! Fun setting, fun characters, fun quests, great story, and great music! If you haven't played it yet, go ahead and download that sucker!
best game ever created in my opinion. you get multiple endings where your choices matter, great story line, you can run around and just be a menace if you want on some gta level stuff, awesome map, cool collectables, and amazing level up system. this game offers everything an amazing game should and some. need more games like this in my life. gladly open to recommendations if there are any. played and beat this game atleast 20 times on multiple platforms.
I can’t believe I waited until 2024 to play this game! It’s one of the best open world RPGs I’ve ever played. I’ve played it started to finish multiple times (trying out the different endings) and I can see myself playing it again in the future! It takes you through many different emotions and you can play it as lax or serious as you want. I highly recommend downloading the Viva New Vegas mod for it as it updates parts of the game to run better and enhance it. But wow - what a game. Can only hope another game with this quality will be made one day!
This game is wonderful, though laggy and can occasionally crash with no warning, the story, combat, and so much more makes the game so fun to play.
Pretty good without mods, the greatest game I've ever played with them. 3.5/5 without. 5/5 with.
gives the feeling of choice. but choices that make a difference in your play thru
You don't need me to tell you it's great. Just believe the hype on this one. This is the peanut butter and chocolate of Fallout games: all the complexity and player-driven characterization that were good in the first two games combined with the presentation and ease the Bethesda games. You can put zero points in guns and still use them effortlessly in combat, but you're incentivized to spread your skills far and wide, as you never know what will come in handy. It's a game you can beat making any choices you want without feeling like you wasted your playthrough.
I spend more time downloading and installing mods than actually playing the game. Then it just keeps freezing and crashing inside some hotel where I found a naked body.
My second attempt I just quit 30 minutes after dealing with Goodsprings again.
10/10, this happens every other year.
10/10; super replayable and interestomg characters
be me starts off finds a fast way to new vegas well not so fast the hours of horror of trying to hide and run from a valley of deathclaws hungery for my bones 10/10 would do again
My personal favorite of the 3D Fallout games. A well realized world, good for the time graphics and a branching storyline that actually branches and feels deserved. No perfectly good guys, the villains have some valid points, and it all works together quite well.
Great gameplay for it's time and is still great today, really the only problem is that at random the game will suddenly just crash, if you can will you please explain why it's happening?
Truer to the originals and so much better for it. The world-building, choice webs, and general vibes are much richer than the other Bethesda Fallout games, which feel hokey and nonsensical in comparison. This is the only post-apocalyptic fantasy world I reckon it's worth my precious time to try to immerse myself in... before this world actually goes there ;)
Note: REQUIRES mods just to run stably on modern systems. And so buggy to begin with you'll want them in any case. For ease, one can e.g. find guides in the community section here on Steam, or collections on Nexus Mods that put together the basic bugfix and compatibility essentials.
(the Gopher's Stable New Vegas collection worked for me. You'll just have to swap out "Yukichigai Unofficial Patch - YUP" for the "Individual ESMs" version if you don't have all the DLC.)
A very good RPG. Great story and lore. Gameplay is decent. Graphics take time to get used to.
