Hey guys, as a fan of far cry from the very first game to the far cry 6, i love playing every game. As the story or the graphics wise.
Now, coming to this game. I love playing this game as it is rich in story and action goes. The only drawback i faced is when playing the game there are shadow boxes popping up in the dark places and it gets even worse as it goes. First i thought it was a glitch but now it feels like a shadow bug, That is the only issues i faced while playing the game and the rest is absolutely awesome as it is.
so overall i will give this game a rating of 8.9/10
if that shadow box is an`t there then i would have gave it as a 9.3 or so

I've played far cry, 4, 5, 6, primal, and new dawn, and now 3 and this is by far the best story of them all, I mean its a little old, i wish it had some features of newer games but, like finishing that story is just wow
I don't know... it seems like it might be good, but I haven't been able to play because it crashes every time I fast travel or fail a mission. I literally have not gotten past the tutorial. Yay ubisoft.
Still a great game, still fun as hell, still one of the best. Even 3 games later, you can still feel Ubisoft's later releases trying to recapture some of the magic they had with Far Cry 3

The game is so nice, eventhough it's a 12 year old game, but i don't know why this game crashes every 30/40 min. That's so frustrating and for me is the only "but" about the game.

Had this game on my bucket list for about nine years now, and I'm happy to report it holds up great! I'm still in the first couple hours of the story so I haven't progressed much but I'm looking forward to getting into the story more and more.
This is the first game I've played in quite a while that really sucks me in. I love the combat, I adore the exploration. Driving through the jungles and along dirt paths is quite relaxing (Til a convoy of pirates show up hehe). There's a surprisingly prominent element of stealth when taking over pirate camps which I like a lot. Adds a lot of tension and strategy with the rock throwing, etc.
Also! If you're getting some frame rate issues. Turn off MSAA and set your games affinity to cores 2, 4, 6 and 8 (disabling all the odd numbered cores). Went from late 50's (with microstuttering to mid 30's), to a solid 66fps (which I believe might be the games cap? I'm not sure, either way I'm well pleased).
Obviously dont buy at full price, not because of the games content but because Ubisoft isn't the greatest company (putting it lightly). Grab it on sale and you'll have a whale of a time!
I loved this game when it came out and thought, for ease, I'd get it on steam since I mostly play PC games these days. I'm sick of this game crashing every 30-40 minutes and losing any progress I've made. Also, why make us sign up for a Ubisoft account for a game that no longer has online support? Poor form. Remove the need to connect to Ubisoft and let us play the game locally.

When I saw a Tiger, a Rabid Dog and a Cassowary team up to take down a Water Buffalo without attacking each other, I finally had to admit that this game is not for those who want to engage in an immersive knight-errant man-hunting revenge fantasy, but rather for adolescents who aren't old enough or experienced enough or educated enough to prefer realistic and objective standards from software developers who aren't good enough.
This game is for a reason a classic nowadays.

The story of this game leaves me with a strange feeling. Neither good nor bad feeling. Just weird. As if this, the story, begged us to care about it, to be moved by it. But in the end it's just a poorly executed story.

Ubisoft has made it difficult to play games. First download the game on steam and then make a account on Ubisoft. Then wait more minuts until you can play it.......
The game is absolutely great and still very enjoyable today.
The story is also very decent.
Unfortunately the game stutters heavily, changing visual settings can actually break the rendering, requires the poopy ubisoft client and also can't even save the session which means you need to type your password every time you open it.
And for these reasons I can't leave a positive review.
Ну, що сказати 3 Far cry це вже класика де є один з найвідоміших ігрових лиходіїв за весь час, а меми про нього чув або бачив кожен, геймплейно гра до цих пір грається прекрасно і не душить допками як новіші ігри юбісофт - тут ще є баланс. Доречі не знаю чого всі таки хуєсосять Хойта як на мене він стоїть вище Вааса як мінімум в англійськії версії це так. Рекомендую кожному( тут є голі цицьки урааа) 10 вилетів бо юбісофт бездарі з 10( воно вилітає на 3060 це єдиний мінус)
Ubisoft Connect is a chore.
1. It requires you to link your steam account with them but it still launches Ubisoft Connect.
2. Every time you start the game you have to re-enter your password. It doesn't remember it.
Unbelievable how incompetent this company is.
this is my childhood game, in 2024 where many games come with great graphic, i'm still choosing far cry 3 than cyberpunk 2077, far cry series is a great game series
Do not buy. After playing for the first time total less than 20 mins played.. Ubisoft Connect says it cannot verify my account. The entire game and the DLC are useless now.
Ubisoft is a terrible company. Ubisoft Connect is a terrible product that the company should be ashamed.
This is one of my all-time favourite games, played it first on PS3 and I love playing it on PC with mouse and keyboard. But Ubisoft has added the unnecessary step of logging into their dogshit client. This makes it essentially unplayable now, so fuck Ubisoft, and fuck Farcry 3.
Dogshit Ubisoft being garbage. Burn you trash company, you deserve to disappear into nothingness.
First, disable Ubisoft's unable-to-normally-turn-off spy-on-you-while-you-play bullshit software. To do this..
1. Type '%appdata%' into windows search and hit enter, go back a page and go into 'Local', then into 'Ubishit Game Launcher' folder, open 'settings.yaml' with Notepad or if you're a high-tier individual, use Notepad++.
2. Scroll down or CTRL+F and find 'masters'.
3. In the quotation marks of 'password' and 'username', put a space in between for both.
4. Scroll down or CTRL+F and find 'user'.
5. Find 'offline' and change it from 'false' to 'true'.
6. Save and close file.
7. Right click 'settings.yaml' and set to 'Read-only' so ppsoft can't change the settings.
Done, Ubidogshit will still launch but will not connect to the internet so at least it's benign.
Second, for the game to even be launchable..
1. Set cpu affinity on the game to only use PHYSICAL cores. Disable hyperthreading. Use Process Lasso.
2. Put '-skipintro -affinity 4294967295' into the steam launch options. '-skipintro' will skip the cringe logos that are normally unskippable when you launch the game and '-affinity 4294967295' does some 32-bit cpu bullshit so the game can actually launch and not eat shit.
3. Launch game.
Third, if you have ultrawide (21:9/32:9), install Flawless Widescreen.
1. Open Flawless Widescreen.
2. Click on Far Cry 3.
Makes UI a bit jank but everything else looks fine.
You think you're done? Nah, Fourth. Important graphical options to change, otherwise you'll crash every 10-15 minutes, have microstutter and other issues. It's recommended that you go into the game and adjust all the settings to your liking first, before doing the below..
1. Turn off MSAA in graphical settings.
2. Set framerate to 60 FPS with RTSS or use any other frame limiting software
3. Go to 'Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3'
4. Open 'GamerProfile.xml'
5. Set 'D3D11MultithreadedRendering' to '0' and set 'AllowAsynchShaderLoading' to '0'
6. To turn off all the yucky motion blur and garbage effects, put below ''
7. Save and close file.
8. Right click the file, properties and set to 'Read-only'. If you ever want to change graphics, remember to turn off read-only and turn it back on when you're done adjusting settings. Launching the game with read-only off will change the settings so be wary.
There we go. Game is at least playable with an irremovable benign tumour. Thanks Worstsoft. What a fuckin' absolute mess of a game and it's clear how hard cockandballsoft has abandoned this title.
Ubisoft has made this game literally unplayable for me, with no option to link to my Steam account. There is also effectively no way to get in contact with support.
This game is wild suprising how much ubisoft was good in making games like this and now look at them now.
Man, love to try older games. This is fun, levels fairly, a challenge, optional challenges. Great actors and story. Really enjoy it.
I paid for it, installed it and can't get it to launch. I don't understand why Steam continues to advertise and support purchases of this game on their website. After reading the reviews, too many problems; the game should be taken down.
Great game but don't play it because Ubisoft have scummed it up with extra DRM and a secondary launcher that is absolute dogshit. Ubisoft must die.
If you are running Windows 11 good luck trying to get it to work. Even running it on compatibility mode wont help you. Believe me, if there was a solution, I tried it and it just would not work. I really wish I could have played one of the best Far Crys ever made but NOPE. Unless you are mad computer wizard DO NOT BUY.

It is a great First person shooter, although there is like one sex scene it is a great game for more mature people.

ubisoft games on pc are a nightmare thanks to ubisoft connect. its a great game tho. just tied to a bad system.
This 12 years old game requires online connection to launch and it receives constant updates due to this mandatory ubishit launcher. The most recent updates first removed my saves and then made it so the game doesn't go past the initial loading screen. If you want to play this then download a pirated version if you want to actually finish it.
I cannot wait for when ubisoft finally kicks the bucket.

This game is a great one just like a lot of the older ubisoft games. It is a great shame that they had to implement their garbage ass Ubisoft Connect launcher that works around 25% of the time and that you absolutely have to log into to even log into the main menu of the game

farcry 3 has to be the best in the collection, got it on ps3-4,xbox 360 and pc.. good graphics for its time, huge map, lots of area to visit and loot, plenty of fun to have would say it is worth the buy
Might not have played this game much on steam, but I have played lots on console. This game is an absolute icon of first person shooters. It was the first I played in the Far Cry franchise. The story is magnificent even to this day, the enemies are diverse and the game-play is thrilling. 10/10 one of the best games ever in my opinion.

This always has been, and always will be, one of my favorite games. The story is fun, the missions are enjoyable, and the characters are well thought out. There's enough of a serious tone and comedic effect mixed in to have a real blast. If you'v never played it, i highly recommend.
It DOES have some issues running well on higher end PCs. There are fixes for most problems in the steam forums or on reddit though. 10-15 minutes of setting tweaking, and the game should look great (For a game that came out 10 years ago) and run amazingly!

The game itself works and plays fine, but Ubisoft needing to connect to its servers and have me log in to play an offline single player game every time I play is idiotic beyond belief. It doesn't even remember passwords so you MUST do it every time.

I really enjoyed this game when I first played it. I would recommend it to others BUT it's not stable anymore. It crashes frequently on modern systems. Until this is resolved, I can't recommend that anyone buys this game.
For as old as it is the gameplay still feels decently smooth. The story is great. only complaint is the constant sign ins everytime i want to play it.
