I'm not recommending this game right now purely because of my experience with Multiplayer lately. I have been disconnected from more games than I can count over the course of the last week. My game has crashed twice late into multiplayer games over that same period of time. Until something is done to make this game's multiplayer better, I can't recommend Multiplayer on Bloons.
I love the gameplay loop and the fact that you don't have to pay to play but it is an option if you do truly meed it. Also, the co op gameplay is soooo much fun!
Good graphics, smooth gameplay, just what i need when i don't know what else to play, its also addictive and the music is catchy
I LOVE THIS GAME!!!! has good updates and good sceduel and is so adicting
Very good 11/10 and also very cheap
A fun game (if not a little repetitive sometimes), but $14 is way to much for something that is essentially a mobile game. Edit: This is worsened by the constant micro-transactions being shoved down my throat
this is one of the best games i have ever played i really recommend it to people who like multiplayer and single player games its a very casual game and it can be hard and frustrating some times try to beat chimps if you do buy the game BUY IT.
i've played this on mobile, as you can see from my 70 acheivements in one day thing, and this game i got addicted to as a little timmy, now i play it as a teenager. great game
It has multiplayer although you have to get lvl 30 first but still its awesome
good game to make time fly by. also takes some times to unlock all the monkey and abilities
Look at my playtime, what do you expect me to say?.. well it is good to have in the background second monitor while doing something else
This game is a great upgrade from BTD5. It is much smoother, feels nicer to play, and is a lot less choppy than the originals. I love how many maps there are, and the multiplayer is pretty fun with friends too. The only major thing that is a problem with this game is the amount of micro-transactions. There are so many you can click on during a level, or looking at the title screen that it gets annoying after a while, and makes the game feel a little worse than it could be. Anyway, other than that complaint, it is an awesome game.
The game is perfect for relaxing on a Sunday evening. 😆 It's really fun, and if you want, you can do much more than just relax! 😄
Why is this so addictive. I rage quitted the game many times when on level 70 to 72 of ballon waves on hard difficulty , it , i will say without tactics you can never win any round in hard difficulties . This game is super fun and enjoyable . The pricing for this game is quite low for what it is offering . Verious monke with special abilities and heroes . Clear out all the balloons encountering towards you ! the sheer variety of towers, upgrades, and Bloon types elevates this simple concept to a strategic masterpiece. Each tower boasts multiple upgrade paths, leading to unique abilities and roles. You'll find yourself experimenting with combinations, fine-tuning your defenses, and adapting to the ever-increasing complexity of the Bloon waves.
And the updates! They keep adding new stuff, new maps, new monkeys, new challenges. I swear, they never stop. I've been playing for months, and I still feel like I'm discovering new things.
I will say after so many years of it being out , it never feels old .
Must recommend to check out bloon games at least once!
dense mechanics tower defence with lots of nuance.
many varied gimic too maps
keeps updating.
its neat
can you lose a lot if push the hard stuff:3
-
some clutter but a button & click through away & mostly clear
. play if you know yourself responsible enough from tempting to far.
You can grind for most or all things & its fun too
Still the best TD game. I have played all of the titles since the original. My personal favorite in the series is City but, generally 5 and 6 are the most respectful in the main line.
Recommended.
Maybe the greatest Tower Defense game ever made. Hilariously cheap for the amount of content and time this game offers. It is deep and and there are tower combinations to learn. Every map has multiple difficulties, additional modes and challenges. There's even "black boarding" a map - getting all modes for a map completed. Aside from maps there are community maps, events, boss events, races, so much content to go through and it never gets boring. It can also be played casually and it is really a great "background" game while you're listening to a podcast, music, or doing something on a 2nd monitor.
Since it's release in late 2018 this game gets frequent updates, balance patches, new towers, heroes... It's seriously laughable how cheap it is compared to what it offers. Do yourself a favour and give this magnificent gem a chance. You will probably get addicted.
This is a tower defense game where you place down monkeys and they pop the balloons before they reach the end of the track. If enough balloons make it to the end, unpopped, you lose.
This is fun little game to play whenever you're bored. It's great for all ages yet still remains quite fun. Definitely worth the purchase.
The game offers a variety of strategies , upgrades, and uniqe heroes, keeping me hooked for hours
it fun i guess if you have nothing better to do would be nice if you dev's would add in more towers for us to use though it feels like bloons td 6 is lacking in replay ability for me compared to monkey city its boring
Very fun tower defense game with good grinding and lots to do to keep you busy!!
Pretty fun game! There's lots of variety's of towers and enemies, Overall fun game!
this game is amazing after you play for 2-3 hours, it becomes so fun trying to beat the bosses and beating your personal best!
It get's much better after you unlock all of the upgrades and most of the paragons.
Amazing game too play with friends that like tower defense games.
I still prefer the artstyle of TD 5 (the original Flash version, the HD version on Steam/Mobile's gradient shading kinda made it look worse) and I'm not too big on this game pulling a Rabbids with turning a vague race/group into having a bunch of set-in-stone characters that look like Twitter OC's but like,
This game does SO much its unreal. Very easy to conk out and get lost in hundreds of free play rounds that not even my 12700K can process all the crap going on. Glad to have been a day-one buyer on mobile back in June '18. (or was it July, I'm getting old!!)
Very fun. The co-op mode is also very entertaining. The game can be stressful and overstimulating sometimes, but it isn't anything detrimental. It can be confusing at the start. However, it is very easy to learn the ropes and get used to each kind of tower and monkey. Would definitely recommend this game.
I'm a long time Bloons player, I've played since it was a browser flash game. That being said, I took a break from the series for quite a few years, so I'm writing from the perspective of someone coming back to the series after a long time.
Bloons is still super fun, and I'm already getting as absorbed in it as ever. Bloons TD 6 has tons of fun maps and monkeys, and the hero system is kind of cute, even if the voices sort of creep me out.
But I can't help but wonder if Bloons went Free to Play for a while when I wasn't following it, because Bloons TD 6 *feels* like a Free to Play game. It's not, (mostly*), but I'm plagued by the subconscious feeling that I'm playing a FTP mobile app the whole time I'm on it because of the design.
When you boot up the menu, you are absolutely bombarded with nonsense all over the screen like a FTP game. There are bouncing animated objects, 3 million UI icons, ! marks all over the place, like 8 different events running, a daily log-in system, a real-money shop glowing in the corner, ect. The game's points system (Monkey Money) is designed as if it were going to be FTP currency, but then they (mostly*) changed their minds and made you get the Monkey Money through achievements and such.
* (What I mean by mostly, is that there are minor FTP elements. The main currency is mildly annoying to get, and you're frequently offered ways to by-pass having to earn it by paying real money. You are, however, able to earn this currency by playing the game normally.)
As well, it CONSTANTLY tries to get you to sign up for an account on their website. After every single round another pop-up appears begging me to do it, and I cannot find any way to turn it off.
Besides the FTP stuff, they make some odd game design choices. The menus are needlessly cryptic, they use symbols for everything instead of words, and then forget to tell you what the symbols mean. It took me forever to figure out that to turn off the creepy monkey voices, you have to turn down the slider marked by a bow-and-arrow symbol (???). It turns out that the voices come from the hero monkeys, and one of the like 20 possible hero monkeys has a bow and arrow, therefore bow and arrow = hero monkey voices.
Another one was that when I booted up the game for the first time, the first thing I clicked dragged me into a tutorial without even going to the menu screen. Then within that tutorial, they only gave you a "lite" version of the settings menu, which did not allow me to change screen size. Y'know, the thing most people do first thing when they start a new game. So I was scrambling around trying to figure out how to get out of this tutorial in order to window the game, while hearing the applications I had in the background going off and unable to easily get to them. It was... kind of silly.
In the end, by verdict on Bloons TD 6 is that it is very fun, and I'm absolutely going to keep playing it, but I hope that if they ever make another one they chill with the FTP game design, and maybe actually label their menus.
its fun with and without mods if you want mods use melonloader and modhelper
One of the strengths of Bloons TD 6 is its extensive content. With over 20 towers, hundreds of upgrades, and numerous maps, the game offers a lot of variety. The frequent updates and events keep the game fresh, providing new challenges and rewards.
The game's replayability is high, as players can experiment with different tower combinations and strategies. The inclusion of a Monkey Knowledge system, which provides permanent upgrades and bonuses, adds a layer of progression that encourages long-term play.
Quite enjoyable, clever gameplay, regular new content for free, extreme replayability.
One small quip for the developers: game results should be (more) deterministic. If you run through the exact same board config and run the level over and over again, changing the time speedup mode can have significant impact on monkey efficacy, which doesn't seem right. I've noticed that varied system or GPU load can have a similar effect.
Presumably this stems from approximation in velocity / pathing through the lens of how many ms have elapsed since the last event loop? Anyway, it would be cool if this behavior were more predictable.
Stopped playing quite a while ago, it's a great game (8.5/10) and worth the price, one of the best tower defenses, I watch videos often, but I can't shake the feeling that I dislike the general direction the franchise is taking since the start, such as:
• Ensuring soft limits in how far one can progress by making the bloons stronger over levels. This isn't necessarily bad, but in BTD5 there was dense personality and dopamine in having infinite piercing towers, the late game got more confusing and "forces" variety to achieve it. Double edged sword I know, else everyone scores infinity and no BTD Battles exist.
• Too many heroes were added. I had the same issue with games like Overwatch and League, the moment you step away a couple months or years it's overwhelming to get back to, ending up in a choice paralysis and losing interest for those who don't have much free time. The idea is decent at most, it works more as a boost/perk than a game changing tower, but I'd rather have a select solid few options that fit a simple lore just like the current bosses.
• It feels like a hybrid of a mobile and a desktop game with its in-game currency and paid boosts (not pay to win). To be fair, the same game and account works cross-platform, so it *must* be phone friendly UI/UX wise, and the hardest difficulty CHIMPS mode disables them, so only skill matters in 100%ing the game in the end.
• Some mechanics and meta got too complex. The Alchemist feels like the Beacon building in Factorio, a must if you want efficiency but annoying to think or understand for the casual player. Too much combinations and interactions between any hero and all towers (previous points). This is purely a skill issue, but I can't afford to sink the time to learn.
I'm nitpicking some stuff, but overall those are my silent intrusive thoughts about the game.
Again, a negative review as in "I don't recommend investing that much time", and a vote of awareness. it might also become repetitive unless you dive in number crunching and meta analysis for user challenges, the new modes or hardest map with hardest difficulties.
Go pop bloons, I'll surely get back to it one day. Maybe not this month, year, or in 2 years.
Just- whenever spare time (≠ free time) shows up in life and I remember the game.
Good game for wasting time, many many ways to enjoy the game and many things to do as well. Can get frustrating at times when you cant beat a level. I love the graphics, the monkeys designs, mechanics and everything honestly, brings back good childhood memories aswell. Overall 10/10 would recommend to anyone asking for a casual game / tower defense
Main Game? Pretty darn good, can't argue there.
The DLC? Actually horrible and needs to be redesigned to be fun to play.
In all the games I've played, none of them have been about my skill or fun to play or exciting.
Since you have to fight camos and leads, almost all of your strategies are useless except for a few.
And if you have the capabilites to fight camo and leads, you won't have enough gold to actually buy that monkey.
But don't worry! Because if you somehow survive to get artifacts, 90% of them are "+10% damage, -9% damage" so you get basically nothing.
And that might sound okay after you get 200 artifacts, but there's only 50, and the bloons scale with health and speed, so you will lose in the end.
So you end up restarting every 10 seconds because your recruit does nothing for camo and/or lead.
Finally you get a decent recruit and maybe a few starting artifacts.
Great, now fight 3 advanced maps back to back and you die and have to restart.
The heroes are useless, the monkeys are useless, most of the artifacts are useless.
For the love of God, please make this game mode fun.
Until Ninja Kiwi fixes Rogue Legends, I cannot recommend you buy this game.
Beautiful game honestly can't recommend it enough, that being said skip the DLC it's not good every other piece of content in the game is better and if you find that you still need more then go for it
For the longest time I avoided this game as it just looked like a glorified mobile game. But after seeing the reviews and trying to find an alternative to Plants Vs Zombies to scratch that Tower Defense itch, I caved in and got the game. I'm so glad I did.
Despite some things here and there that make it very "mobile-like", the game can be played without any further micro-transactions and it's a lot of fun.
I'm not so sure what else I can add that the other reviews haven't said already, the summary is this. The game is deeper than it seems, with enough variety of towers, maps and strategies to keep you entertained for hours (as evidenced by my current played hours in a relatively short amount of time). It's not without flaws, but it's a very fun game.
I started playing this game on June 5th 2020 and it saved my life. I was depressed, riddled with anxiety because I didn't know what the future would hold with this new craziness that would become known as covid lockdown. Whew... what a time that was, anyway as I started on this new rollercoaster I was finding new ways to occupy my brain. That's when I found Bloons TD6... what a relief. Ever since I have walked through life realising things might not be so bad after all.
Thank you Ninja kiwi.
Awesome game! MONKEYS POP BLOONS!!! Cool art, but also fun game. Good for all age groups in my opinion.

What else is there to say other than its Bloons TD, a tower defense game thats stood the test of time. Alot of us are flooded with nostalgia from the flash days, and rightfully so. Bloons TD is a consistently well made tower defense game. Now with Bloons TD 6 we have the introduction of Heroes, new units occasionally, and many more unlockable via skill trees. The only real complaint I have with Bloons tower defense 6 is the removal of one of my favorite units the Bloonchipper.
After playing the game for many years the Co-op feature still sucks in so many ways i cant be bothered to list them all. Everything else about this game is top tier in terms of quality. However personally I enjoy playing games with friends, if you don't care about playing with friends and already like bloons I recommend this game with every fibre of my being. If you enjoy playing most games with friends I can't tell you enough DO NOT BUY THIS for Co-op. 7/10 3
BTD6 is the perfect tower defense game, while it offers many hours of game time, completion-ist will find lots of to do, such as, achievements, Hero's/skins for the hero's. and 13 medals for each of the 77 and counting. You will receive a black border for unlocking all the medals on a map.
BTD6 offers Cross-Progression play at your desktop or on the go with mobile and be able to access your account and pick up where you left off.
A new rogue like game mode is actively being worked on, enjoy the base game and think you want to expand your BTD6 game play I would recommend this add-on.
Their are active events such as odysseys, boss battles, races, etc. These events offers trophies a free currency obtained simply by completing the events, trophies unlock variety of rewards.
If you are looking for a tower defense game that you can play here or on the go, and wanting to learn strategies to beat the hardest game modes or attempt your highest round, I highly recommend BTD6.
Legends DLC and the recent updates that came alongside it are frustratingly bad. Way too many microtransactions and pushes towards spending money for a game targeting "all ages".
while it is a good game at its core similar to BTD 5, BTD 6 feels a lot more like a mobile game. some of these aspects are neutral such as heroes or art style - but some things, like the many different micro transactions, powerups and hidden costs (such as the map editor being partially locked behind a real money purchase or rogue legacy being locked behind a full one WITHOUT the ability to see or review any of that on the steam page) makes me really not like what this game does. I paid for it and I will play it and I like the fact that it can be synchronized between the different devices (mobile and pc) but I despise the added microtransactions. I thought I was buying a full game. but I guess not
Really fun game, if you like Tower Defense games you'll enjoy this one, it's fun to play with a group and it's pretty unique on his own way
This game is an amazing strategy based game where you have to build a Monkey army to pop the balloons. This game is my favourite, and i recommend it to all ages
Good. Personally I like BTD5 more for maybe nostalgia but this game has better overall mechanics
very fun, if you like to play battles 2 or even btd5 it is very much worth the money.
good game the start and grinding takes awhile but this game has alot of content, its simple its fun to play with friends and i recommend it and its pretty cheap.
Edit: (2nd of Feb, 2025)
My partner found the patch notes for 47.1 on Reddit, though I still can't find them anywhere else. Seeing the changes documented and explained has eased my anxiety considerably. While I am still experiencing crashes on launch when continuing from a cloud save, the patch notes do claim to address many of the other bugs and crashes I was seeing upon 47.0 release.
I'm going to play a bunch more now that I know what's different, and I'll update my review again as needed.
For now, the new Rogue Legends mode is flawed but awesome, and it looks like the team at Ninja Kiwi are rapidly iterating on player feedback to improve its rocky initial launch. Kudos to them! and thanks for all the bloons.
It is, and also not, suprising how devs keep updating the game, bringing new things.
