Cuphead is a truly rollercoaster of emotions! With graphics that would make even your childhood cartoons envious, the game makes you think: "How can something so beautiful be so... challenging?" Each boss is a mix of nightmare and fun, and you will die more times than in any other game, but the feeling of overcoming is SO good! And the soundtrack? It feels like you're playing inside an animated film from the 30s, with music that will make you tap your foot without even realizing it. If you're ready to cry, laugh, and, in the end, beat your chest with pride, Cuphead is the game for you!
I played a couple hours of this game and gave up frustrated at the difficulty. I ended up coming back a few years later after getting more 2d action training in games like hollow knight and found the challenge fun and refreshing instead. So I guess just keep in mind that this game is really hard! The art style is the biggest draw here and it definitely delivers on the hype. Cuphead is a really great game! but definitely not for everyone as its difficulty prevents enjoyment for some folks.

Hey, it's a pretty entertaining game that has you trying to implement new strategies to beating the bosses, especially when doing S-Ranks. Not to mention the soundtracks are incredible bangers. This is my all-time favorite game indie game thus far.
cuphead is a 2017 run & gun game with a gorgeous aesthetic and an insanely hard difficulty. despite the difficulty potentially being rage-inducing, if you are able to get past that, the fun factor is also insanely high as well. the music and art style are exceptional and make it to where the game could be significantly worse in nearly every other regard and it wouldn't detract from the overall product because it's seriously that good on it's own.
Cuphead without a doubt is one of the best games I have ever played, this might even be my favorite game. Cuphead is really special to me since it uses the rubber hose animation style which makes me nostalgic about Tom and Jerry and Looney tunes (absolute cinema). I never get bored when I am playing this game. Does it hurt when I retry bosses for the nth time ? Sure as hell does but i am never bored
Cuphead for the most part is very hard but always fair (except 1 or 2 bosses). I have died and raged countless times but even dying is addictive in this game, This game has a certain charm to it which makes me keep coming back for more. I have finished both the main game and DLC on every mode and I STILL COME BACK TO IT FOR SOME REASON.
This game is a masterpiece and I really thank Studio MDHR for creating this game because this shit is better than cocaine not even kidding 10/10. Tons of weapons, combos of items, 2 different playstyles and unique bosses, it has everything I expect from a game
Please buy this game, ik i am glazing but this can really be worth your time. I still wish I could experience it again for the first time. The music, the animation, the art everything has been made with love and they improved it even more with the DLC
The game is great at that point you feel the need to trow you computer to your grandma and how she suffers in the ground praying for god until she dies of loose of blood but also game goty
Absolute art. This game, its hand-drawn characters, amazing music that fits everything, outstanding game play and design. This game stands out, and without a doubt serves as a warm place in my heart.
Good boss battles. Attractive art style. And continuous variety in the content itself. It never gets boring and easily recommendable for everyone.
It's impossible to say something about this game that hasn't been said before. Great fun with or without friends, charming aesthetic, remarkable soundtrack, responsive and intuitive controls. Quite challenging at times, but always rewarding. I don't usually play games solo but this one is an exception. Pricing is fair, too, which is a huge plus. I honestly can't not recommend this game, so definitely give it a try. You won't regret it.
Cuphead is a perfect game! It has many bosses and Run N' Gun levels to try and beat but this isn't just your any ordinary 2D "Platformer" game in fact no, this game is for pros! Many bosses will lead to you getting stuck and trying to figure out what to do and use! It's very replayable even with the DLC involved where you can play as Ms. Chalice! This game isn't good. It's AMAZING!

How can you not like this game. This game is so good, I broke 4 controllers, 3 monitors and drove my car into the sea out of enjoyment. Please buy this game if you haven't already. Its a pretty humbling experience.

Amazing art & music.
Super fun, very challenging. All the bosses have unique attack patterns. Learning these patterns and mastering them feels super rewarding.
I would highly recommend playing on controller.
If you enjoy games that challenge you, then you'll probably love this game. If you do not enjoy challenging games, then this is probably not the game for you.

NO PAIN, NO GAIN: THE GAME
Every review is subjective and aligns with the perception, tastes, preferences and/or interests of the person writing it. I’m someone who views video games as another form of artistic expression, which is why I do NOT assign a score, I don't believe art can be measured or quantified, I’ll simply share my personal experience while avoiding spoilers as much as possible.
This is the third time I've managed to achieve all the achievements/ trophies in this game (GOG and PlayStation were the first two), and my opinion remains unchanged: This game is a work of art, in many aspects, it stands above an average game (whether indie or not): design, music, gameplay, challenge/difficulty, perhaps not so much in the narrative department, on that front, I believe Celeste remains the best, at least among indie games, but even so, it has all the elements to be considered a great game.
The main reason I decided to review it was simple: after finishing it, I began to reflect on what makes Cuphead a great game, of course, this is entirely subjective, as everyone can perceive what makes something good or bad from completely opposite angles and still be right, in my opinion, what influences this perception to a great extent is the fact that Cuphead has never disappointed me, everything it promised from the very beginning was delivered: the old-school cartoon aesthetic, the handcrafted design, the challenge, the soundtrack, and all the other artistic elements, combined with the feeling of satisfaction that comes from mastering the gameplay mechanics, it makes the experience truly unique and genuinely challenging. That being said, I must clarify that it’s not the most difficult indie game I’ve ever played, not even close, that title still belongs to Ghost Song, however, unlike that game, I can play Cuphead for hours and never tire of it, those hours feel like mere seconds, and I believe that’s what makes it a great game, very few titles can evoke in me that sense of timelessness.

I very fun run-and-gun with a great art style and great soundtrack. Fun solo or in co-op. Honestly not many notes come to mind for this one.

the best animation i have ever seen in a video game perfectly gives off the old cartoons vibes, game is very difficult but with enough trial and error its beatable, the bosses are so fun, parrying is extremely satisfying and the dopamine when you kill a boss hits just like crack, all sorts of weapons you can choose from to suit your fighting style and all of them are super fun and useful, game is a 10/10 but if you dont like to get frustrated from time to time i dont think this game is for you but id still give it a try!!

"The Cuphead Show!" is a masterpiece. It is not common for an indie game title to break out of the game mold and move into animation. The business expansion that Studio MDHR has shown is really cool. I wish there were more cases like this.
This game is a really challenging game but it is extramly fun to play alone or with a friend.
Very fun and classic game. Absolutely recommend it to others! 10/10!

things i love about the game? screaming at the top of my godforsaken lungs after dying 50 times in a row.
This game is really good, I have enjoyed it a lot (except for when I didn't), but this game is NOT easy at all. But this game has a plus - when you die, most of the time, it feels like YOUR fault, so you try again! Some bossfight like Cala Maria or Rumor Honeybottoms feel really frustrating and unfair, but when you beat bosses like these you feel fenomenal! Like you have finished a marathon!
This game is for hardcore gamers, so if you want a chill platforming experience, this game is not for you, sorry. :)

Heavy nostalgic vibes. My childhood took place in 90s when there weren't a lot of cartoons let alone internet especially in my country. Every cartoon broadcasting is a big event when you are a kid and even bigger if you compete with the rest of your family for prime time:) They showed animations from all over the world - western and soviet, any year of production and of course from 30s which style Cuphead refers to. So it immediately hit me when I saw hand-drawing art, old style animation and these nostalgic grain and noise which were carefully recreated. You hear the music and it's 1997 again, your window is painted by frost because it's -35℃ outside and dark you can't see a thing but why would you when your TV shows The Ugly Duckling…
As regards gameplay it's very solid run&gun, mostly without run. Cuphead inherits all modern features of the genre with its different weapons, abilities and items which variety of unique bosses are complemented to. If you struggle just make a break and think about your build.
Specifically for HollowKnight enjoyers: guys, it's an absolutely must buy. After all radiant bosses Cuphead is just relaxing journey allowing to stay in shape during a break. Just sit in a couch, enjoy art, listen fantastic music and beat bosses indeed. Pure joy! I got all achievements and S-ranks in 38 hours and didn't regret a second.
It's hard to overpaid but easy to fall in love.

This game has one of the best and most original visuals I've ever seen in videogame. It's not too hard to beat, but I assure you, you will take your time. The OST Is very good that makes the boss fights even better.
It's hard but it's still really fun to play. Also amazing music, looks amazing, I love it!
This game is a challenge, but it's a fair one. Every impossible fight CAN be learned, and when you inevitably do, it's amazing. It also helps a lot that the visual style is very interesting and the soundtrack is so good that I never minded retrying a fight over and over.
Modern classic for a reason. Amazing visual style. Fun combat. It is a little difficult but gets easier with local co-op which is also pretty sweet. Definitely worth your time for those who like the older platformers like Mega-Man and Contra.
This game is straight up GAS , oh my god I've been waiting for years to play it ( watching youtubers like cory and jack's gameplay ) and i have to say cuphead didn't disappoint at all. From the designs to the music as a old cartoon fanatic i personally would recommend even if the bosses makes me wanna scream and rage everytime but yeah 10/10. #cupheadrules

With the play time on my console being 200+ and all achievements this game is great but have some beers while playing this game to calm yourself
A game with a difficulty that increases little by little and makes you want to keep playing until you break the boss's ass with which you have been fighting for over an hour. The DLC is a real marvel that provides a new character that makes your gameplay easier (once you get used to its controls). Recommended for people who do not have anger problems

..but no autofire function for years .. both on controller and keyboard, my hand hurts after a short time, no matter where u rebind fire to.. since this is a game of endless retries while holding down firebutton (which is not part of the challenge), this is a no go
This is probably the most polished game I've ever seen. The perfect combination of everything: visuals, music and gameplay. During the 60+ hours of play the developers never ceased to amaze me with their creativity.
King Dice was hard as hell. DLC was surprisingly easy to me but I beat the game only on normal difficulty. Won't even dare to try expert mode.
A solid 10/10
