Plants vs. Zombies GOTY Edition

I going to be completely honest, this game is amazing and timeless BUT I have one complaint; this game lacks nothing yep. Nothing. What did I tell you? This. Game. Is. Perfect. From the fun rewarding mini-games to the great CRAZY DAVE if you couldn't tell I LOVE Crazy Dave because o how the game presents him. PLAY THIS GAME NOW WEATHER YOU HAVE IT OR NOT.

I remember playing this game on the old cathode computer in the hallway back in 2010. Waking up early on a sunny weekend, just to play the game and lose, once more, after seeing my dad beat the game for the 5th time and my brother for the 3rd. (My brother beating the game, not my dad beating my brother). Playing it again almost 15 years later was still such a great experience. This is probably the first videogame I ever played, the first of hundreds to come... life was more colorful back then... Also, beat the absolute shid out of it this time around, i just had skill issues back then.

This game is a classic and I would consider it to be ahead of its time. If you like tower defense games, definitely give this game a try. There are numerous game modes to play like adventure mode and survival. There are also multiple different mini-games to play that keep you interested in the game. You can also grow plants in what is called a zen garden and eventually sell them to get coins which unlocks things like new plants. With all that said, this game like many other games gets boring when you unlock all the plants, get all the achievements, and beat all the levels. People who dedicate a lot of time to this game tend to play survival endless. But this game is incredible, as it is the reason that tower defense games exist today, and I was obsessed with completing this game and adding it to my list of completed games.

Absolute classic and an absolute banger some of the achievements are a grind in this game but overall pretty easy to 100% and like u can play this game forever. so much replay-ability value. too bad EA has completely tarnished this series with shitty games. oh well at least this is still a banger and its not even that expensive.

But game does not look bad at its resolution.

One of those few games that remains as much fun and playable as when it was first released. You can finish the main campaign in a few hours, and then spend unending time replaying and trying other modes, doing puzzles, mini-games or tending your garden....

I highly recommend this game who loves strategic defense games. I remember playing this when I was younger and it is a widely beloved game 15 years later,

for a game from over ten years old it's still good after all this time and above everything else the music still hit's after all these years later and the level clear theme is so good and the zomboss fight theme goes hard so overall game's good music's good everything's good

Good game, easy except for a few puzzle missions near the end of the game, which can get very hard/annoying.

A timeless classic. If you got $5 and need a charming and fun game to play on-and-off, you can't go wrong with PopCap at it's peak.

PVZ1 is impossible to hate. There's a certain charm to all the rig animations, stock sound effects and the simple yet catchy and iconic soundtrack. It's very nostalgic now in a way. The game's systems are very simple, but stay engaging thanks to new plants, zombies and other obstacles you encounter throughout the adventure, as well as the dynamic music. The fun doesn't stop there, though, as there are a variety of minigames you that use the game's mechanics to it's fullest, as well as additional modes and secrets that'll keep you busy for as long as you want.

Really, I can recommend this game to anyone, even if they've never played a Video Game before. It's very clear with what it wants to be, and doesn't try to be anything more.

Is like remember old days, and by the way it felt like a challenge whenever I try to beat the game on a harder mode,.

for a tower defense game bro this game is fast paced and your always unlocking new towers to help you out on levels and it feels rewarding when you beat one of the survival levels on their hard variant (sorry for the glaze but this game is really good)

I like PvZ. I finished it several times. Tried different challenges to make it harder. Tried 3 seed slot challenge. Not easy, but doable. Tried 2 seed slot challenge. Spent nearly 2 hours trying to beat level 3-3. Finally did it. Tried to beat 3-4 using only 2 seed slots. I hate my life and regret everything including being born. Perhaps even especially being born. 10/10

Great game they need to add the pvp mode would to play that online PC that not emulator

Playing this game feels like that one friend you haven't seen in so long and still welcome him back.
Its just so simple yet so charming with its gameplay and mini-games, along with the great music that accompanies it.
The story isn't the most outlandish thing ever, but it makes you want to get through it and how you will plant your defenses against the zombies, and the art and character designs are still so good from what I remember.

Do yourself a favor and get yourself this little gem of a game, its worth both the nostalgic trip and a good way to kill time if you're bored.

I didn't get into this game until this year, and I wish I'd played it when I was younger. Instant classic, I still remember seeing my dad playing it years ago, so it's nice being able to play it myself now. 10/10

I have this game on my phone, but I do not own it since it is free, I have the Xbox 360 edition but I don't own it either since I have it via gamepass. So I finally bought the GOTY edition and I can say this is the best edition of the game. 10/10. PvZ has been a childhood classic for me and always will be.

Consistently crashes the more I've played. By now I'm at 1-7 and I can't get through the level.

I fixed an issue with my computer that seemed to fix issues with other games I had. Unfortunately, I went to try playing this game again but was already refunded. So, I took the risk of purchasing it again to see if it would work- but no. Now I've got egg on my face and five bucks missing- again.

zombie eat brain. you plant plants to defeat said zombies. you lose zombie eat brain but if you win zombie no eat brain.

i bought this game cause I was feeling nostalgic, however though I recommend the game, it obviously gets a bit repetitive as you progress through it. I do enjoy the original zombies as much as the next guy, however after playing the mobile version I do wish that the break-dancing zombies and ice age zombies were included. Still, a good game regardless if you're just wanting to pass time.

Well, this is the game of my childhood. I remember when I was a kid, I went into a browser and found a flash version of this game there. When I got to level 2-4, I didn't understand why the game ended. After a while, my older sister downloaded the full version of the game to my computer. I was so glad then! Oh, I wish I could take those days back... The meaning of the game is simple: just protect your house from the living dead who want to eat your brains. Use plants as protection, which will allow you to fight off zombies. I don't like the second part of the game as much as the first one. The third part is generally terrible... If you haven't played the first part for a long time or haven't played it at all, then what are you waiting for?

It is very fun to play, engaging, at the same time challenges me to think better strategies to survive another flag in the endless survival mode.

Maybe not as good as young me believed it was, with my mind still discovering what could and could not be done inside the game, but still pretty much worth a shot. I'm running it with proton and it is still a little laggy in the Crazy Dave dialogues probably because of the windows shaders, but the game itself run perfectly

This is a very good game. It's a solid intro to the concept of tower defense, with a lot of personality and pizazz that pops out from the rest of the genre. It starts off pretty easy, with a well sloped difficulty curve, but even though the Adventure Mode isn't too hard to beat, there are a lot of challenge modes that hit much harder on the challenge, making this fun for all skill levels.

Also, the plant puns are pretty great.

This game has had problems for over 8 years where it will fail to work on startup, and every time I've fixed it, it mangages to be borked the next time I install it. 8 years and numerous people have various problems with the game booting, and every time it happens, the save file is unsalavageable, at least for me. good game if they could be bothered to fix the damn thing.

First, I need to express my deep nostalgia feeling for this game, I used to play this game on my tablet when I was 7 or 8, it used to be a great game, it still is now, the gameplay is great, always has something new and you dont get boored from it. What is weird is that you can just do a new game by restarting your level after you ve finished the game, that is certainly weird but the game was created in a period when saving a game and keeping up your in-game progress was not such a big deal. Now, I am deeply happy to have ended this game , it was my childhood dream to do so.

This game is literally my whole childhood. I decided to play it again after years and it's as good as I remember.

PVZ GOTY edition. Bought this years ago and still playing this. Play a lot with the kids and we love it.
Tried the later editions and they just didn't have the same feeling. I want the GOTY edition redone with the same gameplay and longevity but with new upgrades, larger grids etc.

My favourite is Vase Breaker games.
