Hello, I'm a personal developer. By constantly learning programming knowledge to develop the game I want to achieve, I like to develop simple and easy games. Please expect 'Float Night' to be a easy to collect resources, simple to build, no craft, sustainable small sandbox game. I greatly appreciate feedback and bug report.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I really hope you enjoy playing this game.
- Collect any resources as far as you can. No craftsmanship needs to be planned in advance, all buildings are purchased with XMB, and XMB is earned through the resources sold.
- At night, take the weapon to defend the core of the company, a large number of monsters will try to destroy all outsiders.
- Building houses or plant breeding houses on alien islands.
- Tower defense, you don't have to go to find the monster, the monster comes to you every night.
- Recruit robots to fight monsters, alien survival is no longer alone.
- A variety of weather systems, when the adventure is tired, you can quietly look at the rainy night outside the window in a self-built house to feel another life.
- Steam achievements, Steam leaderboards, Steam cloud support!
- Simple and easy gaming experience.

I honestly couldn't figure out what to do, there is not enough hints on what to do and how to play, honestly it seems like a great concept for the game but plz update so i can know how to play more than 15 mins of the game
So far this is actually pretty fun. It's a fairly simple game loop, but has a few surprising moments and I'm enjoying it.
Edit:
I've figured out how to do some basic mods for Float Night which was my #1 feature request:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/958280/discussions/0/2957167122120968762/
Some bugs / quality of life stuff I've noticed, but which don't stop me from playing it:
- Big one that I thought made my safe file unrecoverable (see update): It's possible to place a foundation piece and become stuck. Even reloading the game doesn't help (obviously I shouldn't have saved after this happened, but normally I get returned to the starting point on every load so I thought it would fix the issue). Update: Just let your character die of hunger if this happens, it'll respawn you with -1 day survived lost.
- Got another bug that caused another kind of soft lock: the rover has pretty insane physics which caused my character to go through the terrain and fall eternally. Suggestion: add a plane -1000 units below the terrain that when touched by the player object respawns them at the origin. I have done this in my unity games and it helps a lot with weird bugs like this. Bonus to this is that watching the floating point errors pile up on the character is pretty dang trippy. Seems like I'll have to wait to die again...
- Please make it so that when something is placed in the hotbar and then used up, it will automatically appear in the previous hotbar slot instead of backpack when picked up. Also please make it so that new items appear in the hotbar stack rather than a new backpack stack if there already is one in the hotbar.
- The gun reticle stays red even when pointed at a dead enemy, it would be nice if it stayed grey when pointed at a dead enemy. Not a huge deal but has caused me to waste some ammo especially at night.
- There is a bug that sometimes prevents switching from the harvesting tool to a weapon. I can't quite figure out why this happens but it mostly seems to be when I get the crap scared out of me by getting attacked by a monster I didn't see while harvesting stuff.
- Explorers don't remember their positions when loading a game.
- When shooting creatures, please make it so that bullets go through enemy bodies *or* make it so that enemies cannot occupy the same space as enemy bodies. As it is right now it's very hard to hit some enemies when they are embedded within several other dead enemies.
Feature requests:
- My number one request: please add workshop / modding support so the community can create new maps, items, etc.
- If not the above, please at least add DLC with additional maps/planets, items, etc.! I'd pay for it! Ideally, please add modding support and do DLC.
- An automated wood harvester bot, red ore harvesting bot, etc. would be epic.
- Dungeons with higher rates of red ore but harder enemies.
- Small turrets you can easily pick up / rearm / repair (useful for above dungeons).
- Add more weapons that can be purchased
- Maybe add weapon mods and ammo types
- More variety of enemies (perhaps there are more later, I have only gotten to 8 days)
For modding: I would specifically *LOVE* to see support for BepInEx mods that could be distributed through the workshop, but any kind of modding that allows for adding weapons, plant types, enemy types, buildable objects, dungeons, map modifications, custom maps, cheat codes would be great.

Utterly ridiculous. You re-spawn in the throws of death with no ammo. Really lame concept that a predator can follow you anywhere on the map including your ship, yes you get killed inside your ship. Lacks intuition and interaction with objects. Total waste of time.
I understand this is not a complete game but after playing for few days I just started the game today just to find out everything is written in Chinese....
This has been sitting in my library for awhile, and I finally booted it up tonight. AFAIK this is a single developer's work (within the Unity engine). It actually works. It's "simple" but only in the sense of, there are a small number of options. everything is functional - I didn't find any issues yet, other than an occasional animation freeze on an incoming agro'ed monster. I'm hoping the developer still has this project cooking in the back of his mind, because I can see there was attention to detail in the sense of making sure everything is working correctly under the hood. Seems very much a labor of love and very worth the price, I thank the developer for allowing us to peek into his imagination. <3
I am one of the few players who lives in a headset and actually listens to sound effects. There is a lot of depth that can be added with sounds that can help fill a world. Its something that gets forgotten sometimes as so many ppl turn them off eventually.. but that is the first (and easiest) place I'd suggest for improvement / adding to the world. Wind that isn't in a storm, layering sounds in certain areas, etc.
As once upon a time I spent a few weeks scripting monsters into maps, I am going to suspect that mostly these are randomly placed with these newer engines ;) But that's another option - adding specific spawns etc.
The visuals are nice. The light changing is nice. It feels old-school to not have a clock informing sunrise and sunset ... and in my current 2020 "burned out on the entire universe and yearning to return to an age of innocent, or at least ignorance" ;) the game kinda took me back a bit.
For what it is, I like it. I'd like to see more. I doubt I could actually be useful helping but if I could, ping me. <3
I liked it but uh, Hasn't been updated in years and lacks content
I simply cannot recommend this game. I understand the "casual" intention but this simply isn't a full game. I would be more lenient if it was still considered a early access game but this is full release. This is not ok imo. I have seen games fresh into EA with more content and better done. The concept isn't terrible. It's essentially a casual 3d tower defense game. I'm ok with that. However there are several issue I have with it.
First, the settings are crudely lacking. No key bindings. I mean there isn't even a way to LOOK at what keys do what. You have to guess and figure it out yourself.
Secondly, the content is just sad. There's 2 guns, a pistol and a rifle. Both you have from the start and look like plain textureless models. Both share the same ammo. The environment is crazy basic. A small handful of biomes, one of which seems to literally have nothing in it. The rest basically all have the same things. Red Ore and Trees, then some small items you can pick up having 3 or 4 variants. The building consists of A floor, A wall, A ceilings, A door, a bed wall, a tube for growing one of 2 items (one health and one food) and some decor items. There is one fixed turret and some drones for defense and one vehicle. Most items must be centered on the floor. A couple have 4 offset choices. No free building.
There seems to be only one hostile enemy. There is one massive creature that doesn't seem to do anything or drop anything that I could see. Then there a small set of creatures with maybe 3 variants that just wander around that supposedly you can make pets. These little ones are literally everywhere, doing nothing.
From what I can tell that seems to be all there is to do. Like I said, if this was still being added to, I'd just be patient but this being considered full release... not ok. I picked this up on sale for $2 so I'm not even going to bother refunding but I can't see playing this again.
This is not yet an enjoyable game for me.
My main issue would be the lack of content, it seems you gather resources to fend off critters, and I'm not sure as the game doesn't teach you how to play or what to do.
Another big thing was the very bad fps I was getting, so if the game was more optimised, the experience would've been better.
Also, the gunplay is bad. The scopes aren't nice and the recoil is massive, just not fun imo.
I would not buy this game unless it were on sale.
Edit, after finding out about the store and lower graphics settings, I now reckon the game isn't really bad. I dislike it, but give it a shot, you may enjoy it.
"Float Night" is a simple but fun science fiction survival game. The lack of a tutorial and minimal instructions ake the game somewhat challenging at first (I died the first couple nights) but once you understand the mechanics the game is easy and you can just have fun building up your base and exploring the alien world.
Graphics: Fine. If this was from a big publisher I would be less forgiving, but since this is a one man operation I'm willing to overlook the shortcomings. The game world looks convincing enough. Weather is immersive.
Controls: Work well. I didn't have any issues. Key bindings would be nice but the developer already said he wasn't able to do it at this time.
Gameplay: Building your base is the most interesting aspect here. You are given a small number of parts to work with but the build system is easy to use and fairly flexible. The end result looks great. Combat is your typical 3D shooter fare, it's alright but there isn't much variety. Resource collection is easy and uncomplicated.
Bugs: One time I got stuck in the build menu and couldn't exit out of it. Easy fix, I just saved and quit and restarted. Other than that no issues encountered.
All in all the game was worth the low price I paid for it. I wish the game had more content but what it does have is fun and works well.
Recommendation for the developer: I was surprised that the small and large peaceful animals do not appear to give you anything if killed (not even meat). Maybe have them drop something when killed? I think there should also be daytime enemies you can find while exploring. I also started to wish I could go back and explore the space station from the beginning of the game. Thank you for your time.
don't buy it in it's current state.
Great game, but I have some suggestions:
A light for the rover so it can be used at night
Some nights where monsters don't attack, and a way to tell the player when this happens
Other weapons that can be purchased
And also, what does the explorer of tang robot do? I can't find a use for it so far.
Thank you!
EDIT: Thank you for the help and for adding these features!!
First up - well done 仿生梦 Personal Studio for doing this without help.
-------------------------------------------------------------
I have changed my review to positive. I'm having a lot of fun with the game, setting up many laser cannons to defend against the 'Scorpion Beasts and Trolls of Tang'.
It's still in Alpha mode, so I hope the game grows and develops more.
It's not a polished game for sure, but it has a certain charm to it.
