This is a jigsaw puzzle game with a slight twitch. Pieces are randomly shaped but always fit into a circle image. Each game has a theme. GM2 comes with about triple the levels as the first and even has easy and hard modes. The music is hauntingly beautiful. Very fun if you like jigsaw puzzles. It also works on the steam deck.
This game is really great for casual gameplay to calm down and relax. Some puzzles are more challenging than others, but none of them are so hard you want to give up, at least in my experience so far. There are levels with a time limit that can be stressful, but you can also just not do them, so that's cool. I really like the art style, as you are never sure what the end picture will be until you place the last shards, which is really engaging to me. The soundtrack is great too! I had a few visual glitches, but all of them are easily fixed. Plus, the price is really fair in my opinion; I do recommend ^^
All the glass masquerade games are excellent, relaxing puzzlers. Give them a try!
Good puzzle game.
ALONG WITH THE DLCS YOU HAVE ALMOST 50 HOUR OF PUZZLES IF YOU PLAY ON HARD MODE . THE ONLY DOWNSIDE IS THE MUSIC WHICH DIFFERS TOO UCH FROM THE FIRST GAME SO I SILENCED IT SINCE IT WAS KINDA CREEPY
fun and very relaxing for my over active brain.
This is undoubtedly the highlight of the series, especially when compared to the third installment, which falls short in both gameplay and artistry.
Glass Masquerade 2 is so good totally recommend to any one who is a dye heard fan to play this next chapter of the game. if your into fantasy / puzzle games look no further people. # been playing since 2 PM Australia time

Second installment of Onyx Lute, “a tiny game development team”, as they describe themselves, Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions successfully brings a worthy successor to the jigsaw puzzle genre. Instead of having a standard rectangular outside border, like in physical boxed jigsaw puzzles, the player has to assembly an art deco stained glass window, compiled out of non-conventional shaped pieces.
Rotation of the pieces in the right position is done automatically for you, upon retrieving a piece from the pool. Assuming the developers wanted to decrease the difficulty a bit, with this feature, given the fact this is not an easy, natural puzzle game. Some of the pieces have a circular marking at one of their border edge. These same markings are shown on the boundaries of the puzzle board as well. Showing where the first shard should be placed, to assure the players are off to a good start.Where on classic jigsaw puzzles, one tends to start of by laying the borders first and then group puzzles pieces by color and/or other distinct characteristics. This is next to impossible in Glass Masquerade, simply because of the extreme diversity of shapes and colors in the glass stained panes, which gives a refreshing experience. Shape of a glass piece is more important than what it resembles, to know where it is supposed to be placed. Pieces themselves are dispersed over rotatable turntables, concentric rings as you will, in a way not all shards are visible at once. This adds to the immersiveness of the experience, one tends to treat each piece at a time. Only a black silhouette of a shard is shown on the turntable.
From the main menu, through puzzling gameplay, till a finished stage, all is animated in a pleasant fashion. In fact, for a game based on a more or less stagnant activity, there’s a surprising amount of liveliness to it all. Combined with appropriate chilling music and sound effects, the whole gives a trance-like experience, which effectively entertains the player for about 10-20 minutes of gameplay per puzzle country / exhibit.This game is astoundingly beautiful. Gameplay duration of a puzzle ramps up heavily when playing on hard difficulty, which is necessary to unlock all achievements.
Fourthy achievements have to be unlocked to achieve a perfect game. Please be mindful, however, only 33 achievements are in the base game, for the remaining 7, all two paying DLC packs have to be purchased. To offset this, when all DLC is installed, there are a ton of exhibits available, guaranteeing hours of gameplay to enjoy. Overall, a perfect game can be easily achieved, given the fact you invest around 21 hours. Beware, if you are gunning for the achievements only, do not bother playing the game on the standard, normal difficulty level, but complete the puzzles on hard instead.
I found myself coming back to the game on a monthly base, succesfully completing the entire game, together with its DLC, in the course of over a year or so. This is typically one of those games which gives me satisfaction, everytime, upon completing a stage. To glance at the beautifull glass stained window, equals to mirror what i had accomplished. Each time a puzzle is assembled, a deeper-meaning quote is shown, on which the player can ponder upon.

- Achievement hunters (be aware of mandatory DLC for a perfect game)
Glass Masquerade 3 is meanwhile available as well.

Fun time wasting puzzle game. Only for those who enjoy traditional jigsaws.
