Playing for first time and I'm hooked. Really nice game, at first a little bit chaotic, but has something that makes me play more and more.

I bought this to play it co-op with a friend and only expected to give this 'a couple hours' of playtime.
I was wrong. So wrong.
I have not played any other game in a month. What a fantastic sandbox game. Would recommend.
The game sure is fun and also has this certain "grind"-potential, but at some point it gets pretty dull and frustrating to play, especially when you´re forced to focus only on farming (fish, etc.) and growing crops, because you need a certain amount of money to make some progress. You´re not forced to quickly make progress tho, since it´s up to you if you want to continue with the story asap or if you just want to relax and go mining/fishing/farming,etc. Later on though, there´s a variety of things you can do. A lot of easter eggs and other stuff can also be found during exploration.
Only being able to grow the crops in certain seasons and the difference in time it takes for them to grow is both exciting (looking forward to being able to grow certain crops again) and challenging (since you need to watch out for how much time of the season you have left to grow the crops, otherwise they will wilt).
The design of the game is very cute and the sounds and music also add on to the game´s atmosphere. The characters and the story are also very well written. The option of being able to grow close with the village ppl and also marry them is also smth you can grind on, since it takes some time to actually increase the amount of hearts you have with them.
There´ are also conditions for some items as to how to obtain them, for example the only way to get the "prismatic jelly" is when a specific quest is active).
Since there´s a lot of content, it´s smth you can spend a lot of time on and won´t need to worry abt the game being over/finished too soon.
Overall, it´s a super relaxing and addicting farm-game and I would def recommend this!!! 😼
Stardew Valley is hands down one of my all-time favorite games. the cozy music / the pixel art / the seasonal events... absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I enjoyed every single part of it from farming to mining. The valley feels so alive, and each villager has their own story and secrets.. At first it was kinda overwhelming trying to figure out where everyone was and what they liked/loved to not make mistakes (thanks to the stardew wiki) but I got used to it pretty quick and ended up maxing out hearts with everybody (I was determined to reach perfection) It’s a game that’s easy to get lost in (addictive actually) and always feels comforting no matter how many times I play
ps. I have sooOooOo much respect for ConcernedApe!! making a game THIS amazing all by himself is seriously mind-blowing.
My gf put me up to this game and at first I didn't like it, I've never played a farming sim before and I am more of a FPS, fighting game action game type guy.
It took me whole weeks to get the hang of what I should do and how to manage my time, and funnily enough it has translated to my real life. I can now focus on what I have to do without dragging it on too much and worry about what comes next when the time comes in a timely yet, meaningful manner.
I swear it is underrated in the aspect of what you get out of this game, which is a better sense of meaning to how you spend your time. Its never too late to do something, years will go by and you can better adapt, try new things, and focus your energy where you need not just throw it all at something and expect everything to just work.
ConcernedApe is the goat, and I am looking forward for his next game
This game is incredible... Stardew Valley on the Steam Deck was a great way to pass time when traveling or when I was in urgent care waiting for hours to be seen. Stardew Valley has a great story with aesthetic artwork. You can really tell it was crafted with care and passion from the development team. The save system not being at will but rather at the start of each day wasn't something I was entirely used to, but it didn't bother me for long. I don't really try that hard to complete everything in this and that style of play is fine, but try to complete the tasks for the community center as quickly as possible! One of the best games I have played out of a large library of hits.
Amazingly beautiful game with rich story lines. 100% recommend, even if you don’t like farming or sim games.
Addicting, one of the best indie games ever, there's so much content and if you manage to get bored you can find SO MANY mods to try. Definitely recommended.
Probably one of my favorite game. I spent hours playing it on different platforms and I never get bored, there's just so much to do
I believe that it is one of the greatest and important games created by humanity. It calms. Playing it is like meditation. Literally game equivalent of a psychology session. The world is so little, yet feels so big and holistic. There are few characters, but there is so much in them. Gameplay is simple as it can be, yet there is so much to do.
This game is so good that I believe it should be installed on every device as a basic app, like a browser and calculator. The world would become a better place.
And it was developed by one single person. What a legend. Literally the great person.
The coziest of cozy games. I always come back to it. The music has me break dancing or vibing in my room at 3am. 100/10
In a world packed with complex mechanics, sprawling open worlds, and live-service chaos, Stardew Valley quietly carved out its own niche—and an entire generation of comfort gamers followed. Developed entirely by one person (Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone), this humble farming sim has become nothing short of a cultural phenomenon. And it earns every bit of that love.
The premise is simple: you inherit your grandfather’s rundown farm in the quaint town of Stardew Valley. You arrive burnt out from a soul-sucking corporate job, and with nothing but a few tools and a dream, you start again. The catch? That’s just the surface.
Beneath the hoe-swings and watering cans lies a game about community, healing, and carving your own path.
Farming is the core loop—plant crops, water them, harvest, repeat. But Stardew slowly opens up like a well-written novel. Soon you’re:
-Exploring mines and battling monsters,
-Fishing at sunrise,
-Dating townsfolk and attending festivals,
-Upgrading your home,
-Brewing artisan goods,
-Raising animals,
-Restoring a magical community center…
And all of this happens at your own pace. There’s no ticking clock, no "wrong" way to play. Just you, the seasons, and what you choose to do with them.
The residents of Stardew Valley are more than NPCs—they're neighbors, friends, and potential partners. Each has their own routine, backstory, and development arc. Whether it's the goth loner Sebastian, the misunderstood Shane, or the hard-working single mom Penny, every character is layered.
Gift-giving, heart events, and dialogue choices make relationships feel meaningful, and marriage—even parenting—becomes a natural part of your life in the valley.
Stardew Valley’s retro-inspired pixel art is cozy, expressive, and surprisingly detailed. From the changing seasons to the gentle shimmer of moonlight on a lake, every frame is crafted with love.
Complementing the visuals is an unforgettable soundtrack—gentle piano melodies, rustic guitar plucks, and atmospheric tones that somehow evoke emotion with every note. It’s the kind of music you leave on even after you’ve walked away from the screen.
Originally a single-player game, Stardew Valley now supports full online and split-screen multiplayer. Want to build a farm with friends or a partner? Go for it. The game’s relaxed pace and collaborative spirit make it one of the most rewarding co-op experiences out there.
Despite releasing in 2016, Stardew continues to receive free updates—including entire new regions, quality-of-life changes, and gameplay expansions. The modding community is thriving, offering everything from visual overhauls to new farm types and characters.
ConcernedApe’s continued care ensures this game keeps growing—just like the crops you plant.
Stardew Valley is more than a farming game. It's a gentle reminder that progress doesn't have to be fast, that joy can be found in repetition, and that meaning often grows where you least expect it.
Whether you're chasing 100% perfection or just trying to get your first strawberry harvest in before summer ends, Stardew Valley offers one of the most personal, peaceful, and genuinely rewarding experiences in modern gaming.
Best For: Relaxation seekers, pixel art lovers, and anyone needing a digital breather

This game is amazing and relaxing. Helps me stop yelling racial slurs at small children! 10/10 would reccomend
Very Sigma, and quite Skibidi if I do say so myself.
Really Reccomend this game, it is so peaceful and is a great way to pass the time.
I have played about two hundred hours of this game between Steam and my iPad, and I think it's about time I review it. I would overall say about 10/10.
I have a few qualms with this game. While the farming, socialization, minigames and progression are all generally perfect, the main issue I have really does come down to the sexual stuff in the game.
I have tried ceaselessly to turn the other cheek and just play Stardew Valley, but right when I'm back in my flow, something very sexual happens or a character says something absurdly over-the-top sexual, like just downright disgusting. Constant comments from every character in the game talking about very sexual stuff and it does not seem to end. Even the gameplay can feel especially provocative or sexual at times alot.
Perfect game all around, but please tone down all that sexual gameplay and missions.
🍓 Stardew Valley - A cozy escape that stole my heart 🍓
I never expected a little pixelated farm to become such a big part of my life, but here we are. Stardew Valley is more than just a farming game - it’s a warm, gentle world that welcomes you in and gives you space to breathe.
Whether I’m planting strawberries in spring, watching the leaves fall in autumn, or just spending time with my favorite villagers (hi, Sebastian 💜), I always feel a sense of peace and comfort. The rhythm of the days, the little surprises, the festivals - it all feels so alive and personal.
I love how this game gives you the freedom to go at your own pace. There’s no pressure, no rush. Want to focus on crops? Go ahead. Prefer mining or fishing? Totally fine. Just want to decorate your home and hang out with your cat? You can do that too.
What makes it truly special is the heart behind it. Every detail, every season, every line of dialogue feels like it was made with love.
If you’re looking for a place to rest, heal, and build a little life of your own - Stardew Valley is waiting for you. 🏡✨
I instantly fell in love with this game, it's sooo relaxing, really fun to play, full of cute characters, animals or other creatures. As you play you constantly keep finding new things along with various little easter eggs. I also enjoy how relatable some characters can get. The game might look very simple but there are quite a few challenging things. Definitely worth checking out! ;D
This has to be my favorite game that I have and still am playing throughout the years. It has amazing re-playability, is multiplayer or single player, and has an amazing soundtrack. It can both be calming or challenging depending on if you want a relaxed play-through or one to become the very best as quick as possible. I would recommend this game to everyone of all ages.

Best farming 2d game with lots of content, and from time to time added FREE updates (like really ginger island should have been a paid DLC but it was free)
Would reccomend to anyone :3
Stardew Valley is easy to learn, super addictive, and an overall cozy and relaxing game to play. I even got my husband to download it and play co-op with me! Would recommend this game to EVERYONE!!!
at first I thought this game is slow farming life. since I love harvest moon, its similar they have grandpa giving players farm etc, but plus simple combat. all is well until I unlock the bus, level 120 mines, and mastery level. holy moly the game is like a full package monster hunter g-rank!
it's $15 worth even though this game already 9 years old but still worth to play
"Just one more day," I said. 9 years later, I'm the wizards best friend and a married goat farmer. Underneath the simplicity is an incredibly rich and rewarding experience filled with charm, secrets, and emotional depth. It's a cozy pixel-art paradise. Time feels well spent.
Stardew Valley is so chill, honestly. The vibe is super relaxing, and it’s not one of those games that stresses you out. It’s easy to get into, and the whole atmosphere just makes you wanna vibe. Plus, the community in the game is fire.
The fishing part? Eh, not my fave. Didn’t really live up to the hype for me.
But overall, the gameplay is chef’s kiss. It’s fun, lowkey, and smooth. The story and characters? Literally felt like my ingame fam, and I got so attached.
It’s got that perfect balance of being easy to play but still keeping things interesting with enough challenges to make it fun.
100% recommend this game to anyone looking for a chill time!
Not comfy at all. Stress stress stress have to finish the community center within the year or eternal shame to my family.
This game is really great! I highly recommend for those who want to find something to do with their friends, I wouldn't say that the game is a chill as everyone thinks but afterwards it's very chill and I fully enjoy it every time I go through Stardew Valley phases and I'm excited for further updates!
Cute, fun, good action (sometimes chaotic), amazing lore and depth, interesting characters. Stardew definitely has something for everyone!
(You don't have to focus on farming if you don't really want to either. There's a ton of ways to play, so don't mistake it for a standard simulation game :) )
I mean, it is 2025 (3rd time buying this between pc, mobile, and xbox and thousands of hours), why haven't you played this!
Amazing game. Amazing Dev. Free content and updates for years. New game on the way?
Yeah. Buy it. Play it.
I hate how addictive it is. Bored or farming? Go to the mines. Mines are bugging your mind? Fishing. You hate it now? Woop, you can forage things. Also boring? Cooking is fun. All of this is getting too simple? Guess what, you can befriend the worst people you've ever met by giving two items a week and storming into their room at 8 am. Hate capitalism? There is a anti capitalist route. Want to be capitalist? GUESS WHAT... This game is so in dept you will forget you just spend one month playing it non stop. ''But how about my friends? I want to see my frien-'' Boom, buy them the game and now you can multiplayer it on your farm or theirs. Same default farm is boring... THERE ARE MORE FARMS TO START WITH OMG I LOVE THIS GAME.
I love this game so much, its so peaceful and captivating. Time passed by so much and I still got a lot of things to do.
I bought this game back in 2021 and couldn't get into it, or more like I didn't really give it a chance. Now, 4 years later, I must say it's one of the most fun, relaxing games I've played. You can either play it at your own pace or be incredibly sweaty, min-maxing your run. I installed it wanting to play something I didn't really have to think for, and ended up accumulating almost 100 hours of playtime in less than a week. I kept telling myself I'd play only one more day and subconsciously kept going over and over again. Very cool!
never play a new game until 46 hours streak. it's indeed saying farewell to social life
Stardew Valley is such a well made game. Though the graphics isn't HD hyper realistic the art style I feel is a part of its charm.
For just 15 dollars you get a lot of content within the game, along with it's replay ability as well. Its well worth the price.
It can be a very relaxing game along with a challenging game depending on the goals you set for your play-through. But overall I love this game I had this game originally for my Xbox but when I had gotten a computer I knew I had to get this game again right away.
Overall 100 out of 10 would play buy again.
One of the few games I've continually come back to and played over the years - so peaceful and enjoyable. Plenty of content to keep it interesting and an epic developer who pours a lot into it.
This has honestly been my favorite game to come back to for years now, the base game alone has tons of stuff to do; and when you add any Nexus mods or whatever else into the mix it makes it even more fun knowing as a community the game will continue to be loved and grow as time goes on. If you enjoy a farming sim, awesome they got that for you, do you like fighting monsters and leveling up your gear and uncover secret letters, gems, and mysteries; stardew valley has that for you too. Love a good romance simulator, this game emits an age appropriate romance that build over time as you slowly uncover more about the amazing people in this town. I pick Penny every time to marry as I love how sweet, kind, and patient she is with teaching children, and its so sweet how she grows to care for the player. There are so many other people if Penny isnt your style though. Each and every character has been amazing to learn their story. Except Clint, bro is a creep.
Very chill game which can become an adiction. My go-to chill game when I don't wan't to play FPS games.
Its an AMAZING farming game, its a little bit like animal crossing but pixely, more farming-focused and 10x better lol :D
Stardew Valley is by far one of the best RPGs on the market right now. Endless hours of content, incredible and smooth co-op mode, and the developer regularly updates the game. This is an instant cult classic if you're a cozy gamer, but even if that isn't your type of typical game, I would venture to bet you'd still love playing Stardew Valley. Farming, fishing, combat, exploration, it's got a bit of everything. The story is engaging, the music is calming, and the art style is a great touch. It's easily a 10/10 for me, which you can read more on here [https://offtheshelfmedia.com/2025/04/24/one-more-day-stardew-valley-1-6-review/]
I always come back to this game and I can't wait for yet another game from ConcernedApe <3
Sincerely my favorite thing ever. I played it to death on Switch, then PC, then I added a ton of mods and it feels like the first time all over again. Just an incredible piece of art with super interesting characters, a stunning art style, and the most passionate creator I've ever witnessed.
I seriously love every single aspect of this game, especially the combat, which was pretty shocking to me. I typically despise combat, even when it's super easy, since I just get super stressed and upset even if I win. it never feels satisfying to me, except in Stardew. it's not super complex, but I love the amount of strategy that you can put into it, preparing foods with buffs, special weapons, or wearing better rings or boots. combat isn't even mandatory, mind you, I just find it surprisingly enjoyable.
The best part of Stardew is that it can be whatever you want. I really enjoy minmaxxing every aspect of the game (prioritizing efficiency and maximizing profit), but I've also had playthroughs where I only farm or fish or interact with characters and it's just as fun, if not more for the sake of variety. This is seriously the ideal game for perfectionists, though. The official wiki is insanely detailed and the in-game menu tabs have neatly organized collections with all the information you could want.
As someone who has over 1500 hours between PC and Switch, has beaten the game to Perfection twice, and listens to the soundtrack on a daily basis: please play this game. Once you do, please also look into the developer of the game, Eric Barone. He is my idol and I desperately need more people to know and support him. <333
an immersive yet cozy game that's hard not to adore. with or without mods, there's much to see and explore. easily one of the best games to come out in the 2010s in my opinion.
4/10 it's really boring. everything is just so happy all the time. and barely anything else. I bought this game recommended from friends, and kept playing trying to enjoy it, but it just felt so dull. a lot of the characters are one-note, just sticking to their core personality trait and having barely anything beyond that. along with a repetitive game play loop, that refuses to deviate much.
the only time the game isn't so happy is when you actively try to be a jackass, like giving garbage to people almost every day, or dumpster diving in front of them. but even then, they just immediately forgive and forget. the only not-so-happy thing in the game is the "big bad corporation" that feels so poorly shoved in there, it doesn't do anything. and most of the time the game completely forgets it's there. almost as if the game is apologizing for having the slightest bit of emotion besides happy.
on top of that, the gameplay can be summed up as "go get stuff -> sell stuff -> buy seeds -> wait way too long for said seeds to grow -> get crops -> sell crops -> buy/get upgrades to get more stuff -> rinse and repeat" it gets dull really fast. there are side quests, but most of them are just "get specific thing". and if you're really lucky, you'll be able to do a festival. which just boil down to, do a limited time task, or watch a lame animation.
TLDR; imagine the premise of barney the dinosaur, put into a farming sim. that's this game.
Started as the local weirdo, made an empire off of selling booze and sold my soul to Tesco's. Now, I'm a millionaire that owns multiple properties, a bunch of sheds and some cool ass shades. 10/10 would definitely ruin the economy again.
(Played with the Stardew Valley VERY Expanded Modpack, HIGHLY recommended for returning players)
After 100 hours of playing together with my best friend, he divorced me and went on the next day to marry another woman and have a child with her in OUR house.
The game drew inspiration from Terraria, and offers a farming experience, on the surface. While playing, you discover a multitude of different things you can do, that include gaining new tools, and getting to explore more and more of the game. Literally.
Great game, I would recommend. If you are a fan of a farmer turned jack of all trades, with lore sprinkled throughout the game, and hints about anything that is needed to reach 100% completion, you should enjoy this game too.
I just got this game 3 days ago and have already put in many hours. The game is very enjoyable and relaxing to play. There's a ton to do in each game day and you won't feel that things are repetitive as there's always challenges to work towards. Overall great game and 10/10 recommend.
I'm still at the beginning of my journey in the Valley but I already love it to bits! It's a relaxing game that really lets you immerse yourself into the world of Stardew Valley. I play it whenever I have a bit of time and my progress is slow, but it is extremely wholesome. The mods make it even better however as you can add little perks to the game and even to the characters. Stardew Valley really unwinds me whenever I feel a little bit deflated from life
total playability and fullness of content
super cute farming sim that's "relaxing" and fun. Grow crops, raise animals, and enjoy the cute graphics!! Highly Recommend!!
