i'm sure this game is great when you really get into it; unfortunately, i just can't. time-based mechanics are very stressfull for me, and my impression is that stardew valley has a LOT of those. how could i possibly feel relaxed when i have to remember to water the crops, talk to everyone in town, figure out what gifts they like, and check out whatever seasonal thing is going on at the moment, every single day, and find whatever i need for the community center?! if i want a game to relax to, i boot up celeste, because a having a simple, predictable wall to repeatedly mash your face against is relaxing to me. evidently though, a lot of people aren't like me. but if you are, stay clear of this game
This game is pure comfort. You start with a rundown farm and turn it into whatever you want – a thriving crop empire, an animal sanctuary, or just a cozy place to fish and relax. There’s no wrong way to play.
The townspeople all feel unique, and getting to know them is surprisingly rewarding. I didn’t expect to care about the stories and events, but they’re really wholesome (and sometimes funny).
The gameplay loop is so addictive – plant, grow, harvest, repeat – but it never feels stressful. You set your own pace. Whether you're farming, mining, fishing, or decorating your house, it’s just fun.
If you’re looking for something chill but still engaging, Stardew Valley is 100% worth it. Plus, it’s made by one person. That’s just insane.
Stardew Valley is a game that lets you immerse yourself in a world filled with charm, tranquility, and freedom.
The game doesn’t punish you for taking your time, giving you the freedom to do what you want each day. Combined with characters who feel like real friends and a world full of discoveries, it creates an engaging and heartwarming experience that invites you to explore everything.
From cultivating crops to exploring the town and building relationships, there’s always something to enjoy. It’s the ideal game to relax, have fun, and find joy in the simple moments.
This is a very fun but also highly addictive game. You need to do so much for the achievements and the content is great !
You can explore caves, garden, grow friendships and build the community up! They have little events every season and lots of fun ways to gain hearts with the towns people!
I honestly love this game and have been playing for a while now!
In this game, I’m more successful than in real life. In the game, I have a wife and kids, a business, friends, and loads of cash. I don’t know who programmed real life, but they definitely need a consultation with ConcernedApe.
This game is basically free therapy!
Thanks to ConcernedApe for providing us with endless hours of entertainment and for creating a timeless masterpiece that set the standard for farm sims for many years to come. To this day, it can't be beat - the passion that was put into creating every single detail in this game; story, gameplay mechanics, art, characters and the absolutely iconic soundtrack is almost overwhelming at times.
10/10
Very enjoyable game, so much to do. You can make it easy no fuss or you can set goals to get things done by and make it more challenging. Farming, animal husbandry, friendship and family, mining, fishing. You can even ride a horse!
this game is the best farming simulator ever , It's easy to lose track of time as you grow your farm and watch the seasons change. If you’re looking for a game that’s both relaxing and rewarding, Stardew Valley is an absolute gem . it’s a must play for fans of simulation or indie games!
Working in the farm, building relationships with the townsfolk, and engaging in mining feel peaceful. Adding something new to the farm every day is enjoyable.
A masterpiece of the pixel graphic farming sim genre. Play your own way as you harvest and collect things to sell, craft or give away as you expand your farm and explore the island. This game is great and has plenty of content to keep things busy and fun.
Other games might try, but none will ever surpass this one. One dev, an extensive modding scene, continuous updates.
A real labor of love.
I've played this game on four different platforms and feels most at home on the Deck. The game just keeps pulling me back in and the free updates are unparalleled. I can't wait to play again with mods!
Game has been a comfort game for me and my now wife for many years.
The mod community adding as much love and longevity to the game just as much as ConcernedApe has.
cozy in the late game, too much grinding in early game
Stardew Valley, the farming sim you didn't know you needed. It is one of those games where you tell yourself, "I'll just plant a few crops and go to bed," but five hours later, you're knee-deep in a conspiracy involving your good ol mayor with his purple shorts, a talking bear, hoarding gold bars like a dragon, and debating who to marry. It's not just a farming simulator; it's a life simulator—because who needs real-life responsibilities when you can grow virtual watermelons?
At first, the game lures you in with its pixelated charm and relaxing vibes. "It’s so peaceful," you think as you plant your crops. Then, reality hits: you’re broke, Pierre is overcharging for seeds, and some drunk guy just called you a loser at the bar. Before long, you're grinding in the mines at 2 a.m., desperately trying to find iron so you can upgrade your watering can before summer. And don’t get me started on the fishing mini-game, which is less “relaxing pastime” and more “Dark Souls with a rod.”
Relationships in Stardew are another level of emotional manipulation. You can spend months wooing a villager, gifting them precious amethysts and perfectly cooked meals, only for them to say, "Thanks, but I don't really like this." Excuse me, Haley, that diamond was worth more than your entire personality. But hey, it's all worth it when you finally get a reluctant "I guess you're okay" at two hearts. At least Abigail appreciates the amethyst, in her own way of course.
The Community Center is where things truly spiral. Instead of enjoying your idyllic farm life, you're now a slave to the Junimos, grinding to find one random crop you need or a duck feather to appease their capitalist agenda. Sure, you could sell out to JojaMart and save yourself the pain, but then you'd lose the moral high ground—and what’s the point of playing Stardew without your farmer pride?
In short, Stardew Valley is the perfect mix of cozy escapism and existential farming dread. It’s the kind of game that makes you question your real-life productivity while also teaching you that friendship can be bought with mayo. Highly recommend it—10/10 would lose another 40 hours of my life. Even better with friends cuz you'd experience peak capitalism
F♡ck Pierre, he is the reason for the capitalistic parsnip-market in this town. Besides that; Harvey supremacy idgaf what yall think, doctors are f♡cking hot.
The game is very good, there is a lot of interesting content in the game and there is a lot to do
A game where you take care of your farm and grow it. You can also do mining and other activities, but this is such a simple concept yet there are so many things to do in this game that I can just sit back, relax and just play it without having a worry about anything else (except when you realize that you need seasonal plants and fishes to finish the community center). This game receives updates every once in a while, so there is always something to look forward to!
Genuinely one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. The soundtrack and graphics make for such a cozy experience. I've spent 5 in game years on one save file and I'm still having a great time, not to mention the updates are constant and always fun despite being developed by only one guy.
Pretty chill game with lots of things to do. The dev sure showered players with lots of content and you can see the love for the game. If you intend to 100% it, then it will take a while, but you can play with friends. Either way, I enjoyed it a lot and I do recommend it :D
This game is almost 9 years old now.
Hundreds of newer and bigger games inspired by Stardew Valley have been made since its release, pitching eye candy in the form of 3D graphics, a massive world, unique mechanics, etc.
But with 8+ continued years of free content updates and modding support to Stardew Valley's little village of Pelican Town, even more than a decade after Stardew Valley's conception in 2012, still no other game like it has been able to capture its cozy charm.

Great game with free lifelong update. :p Plus, the modding community is so large and always updated, so it's the classic game which you will be never bored with.
Stardew Valley is an absolute masterpiece. Every character in the game feels like they have a story to tell, with unique personalities, secrets, and backstories that make building relationships so rewarding. Whether you're befriending villagers, helping them with their struggles, or uncovering hidden details about their lives, the depth of each character makes the game truly unforgettable.
The game creates a sense of comfort and belonging like no other. It doesn’t just feel like a farming simulator it feels like a world you become a part of. Whether it's tending to your crops, exploring the mines, or celebrating festivals with the community, there’s never a moment of emptiness or loneliness. Instead, you’re constantly surrounded by a sense of warmth and purpose.
The pixel art is stunning, and the soundtrack is absolutely enchanting, creating an atmosphere that’s both relaxing and inspiring. Each season has its own charm, with beautiful visuals and unique gameplay moments that keep everything fresh and exciting.
What’s most impressive is how much love and care clearly went into crafting this game. For its price, it delivers an experience that’s worth so much more. It’s a game that’s easy to pick up but hard to put down, and it continues to surprise you the more you play.
Stardew Valley is my biggest discovery of the year. Why so? Because for many years, I couldn’t bring myself to try this game. Honestly, its visual style was off-putting. For a long time, I couldn’t get past the mental barrier that pixel indie games could actually be beautiful. But slowly, my opinion started to change, and eventually, I gathered all my willpower and bought it.
At first glance, Stardew Valley may seem simple, with its pixel art and straightforward gameplay. A typical indie game that might not impress hardcore gamers. However, beneath this seemingly simple exterior lies a true example of how games should be made. An engaging story, captivating gameplay, and an incredible atmosphere. It feels cozy yet never boring, offering players the freedom to use their imagination in what seem like ordinary daily tasks - tasks that, most importantly, you actually want to do. Eric Barone showed what it means to be dedicated to your craft, which is why the game was warmly received and, even after more than seven years, continues to enjoy overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community.
This game deserves everyone’s attention. Stardew Valley is a wonderful game, and I believe it suits anyone, regardless of their preferred genre or gaming preferences. The only thing I’d love to see added to the game is a Ukrainian localization.
I want to thank Eric Barone for an incredible and unique experience, as well as for creating a masterpiece that changed my perspective - not just on gaming, but on how one should approach their goals.

Контента много, для игры сильно включать голову не надо. Всё происходит настолько неспешно, что любое, даже минимально интересное событие будет восприниматься как праздник. Персонажи есть, привязаться возможно.
I don't really have much nuanced critique to give, but the game is great, and I just wanted Concerned Ape to have my 'thumbs up'
Overall, I think it doesn't matter who you are or what you like in a video game, Stardew Valley has some aspect that can make almost anyone happy!
perfection. Amazing base game, but the huge variety of great mods means you never really run out of stuff to do.
A game for those who have moved past the eras of shooting, racing, fighting, and general competition, and now just want inner peace.
After spending 256 hours in Stardew Valley, I can confidently say that this game is a masterpiece in the farming simulation genre. Developed by ConcernedApe, this indie game offers an impressive blend of creativity, relaxation, and depth that keeps players hooked for hours on end.
Strengths:
Engaging Gameplay: Whether it’s farming, fishing, mining, or socializing with the townsfolk, the variety of activities ensures there’s always something to do.
Charming Graphics and Music: The pixel art style is beautifully nostalgic, and the soundtrack perfectly complements the relaxing atmosphere.
Freedom and Customization: You can design your farm exactly how you like, with multiple ways to earn money and progress.
Strong Community and Relationships: Building friendships and even marrying an NPC adds emotional depth to the game.
Endless Replayability: With different farm layouts, community center paths, and secrets to discover, no two playthroughs are the same.
Frequent Updates: The developer continues to provide free updates with new features, such as the recent multiplayer mode.
Weaknesses:
Repetitive Tasks: After many hours, some players may find the daily routine of watering crops or feeding animals a bit monotonous.
Learning Curve for New Players: Some mechanics, like fishing or optimizing crops, can be confusing for beginners.
Limited Late-Game Content: Once your farm is fully developed, the challenge and sense of progression may decrease.
Overall, Stardew Valley is a heartwarming and immersive experience that appeals to players of all ages. Its balance of simplicity and depth ensures you’ll keep coming back, whether for a relaxing session or a focused farming spree.
Final Rating: ★★★★★★★★ (8/10)
If you love games that let you escape into a peaceful and rewarding world, Stardew Valley is a must-play!
10/10 This game is in fact therapy - play how ever you want no time limit gather stuff grow stuff fish stuff talk to people and build relationships and the sense of progress you get when you do get far is great this game is a must have experience to any one looking for a good game a chill game a management game it really is a jack of all trade even has dungeon crawling
I LOVE this game! It's so cozy and good vibes but also quite grindy too! The character quests are so fun, you have combat in the mines if you want it and then also just the great nature of farming. 10/10 one of my favourite games ever! (don't let the graphics throw you off, you'll grow to love them <3 )
In all of my gaming history there isn't a game that compares to Stardew Valley. In a time where so many games fall short of expectation this one never has. The creator ConcernedApe has time and again shown us this is a game made out of love and not for just profit. It's been 8 years and I haven't paid anything for the updates that have so thoughtfully been provided over the years.
This game plays on almost every console, phone, or PC and has endless replay value, especially when they added multiplayer and modding. What more can you ask for? All the hidden treasures to discover and the bonus updates provided over the years, with nothing asked in return. You have set the bar high here. While this game may not be top of the line graphics, or the most expansive story I've ever played, it has an unmatched charm and integrity that is sorely lacking in the games coming out of late.
Thank you for the years of entertainment and for continuing to update this gem and show it the love it deserves. All the profits you receive are well earned and I wish you the best @ConcernedApe. Worth every penny.
Sincerely,
Willow
This is genuinely one of the best purchases of my life. 1st playthrough was probably the most enjoyable lore I have ever experienced in any game I have played. All the others that followed, with friends were as fun. I love the dev of this game, similar vibe to the Terraria devs, pouring their heart into a game they just can't stop developing. In summary, buy this game. Buy it full price, or buy it on sale. Either way it's a steal.
I AM THE GREATEST FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARMER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 (greatly enjoy this game and its very comfy vibes as well as how i am also politely stressed out by timed missions, would highly recommend)
This game has become one of my favorites. It's both relaxing and stressful depending on how you play. Whether it's focusing on making your farm as cute and efficient as possible while getting to know the people around town or trying to unlock all the floors in the mines while fighting different monsters before the clock hits 2am, StarDew Valley is a work of art! And that's just the tip of the ice burg. You can complete quests to progress the story or just chill and explore the valley. This game has way more to it than I initially thought. Amazing lore! It's easy to see how it became a cult classic game.
Back when Stardew Valley came out, I bought it on the spur of the moment - just because I read an article about this guy who made a beautiful game that he would want to play himself. Even though it's not my cup of tea, genre-wise.
Didn't play it much either, even though it was installed at all times. Over the years, I just looked at the patch notes, appreciated the screenshots, and thought "this is nice” and liked it to be the one wholesome thing in the steam news feed.
Now, almost ten years later, another interview popped up about how he does not want to see the game fizzle out, but instead wants to keep improving and expanding it - so far all with free content updates and patches.
The least I can do now is leave a positive review, because this attitude and appreciation of fans and his own creation deserves respect. This is not just a game but an achievement.
I sacrificed my soul for this game. I love it. It's the beginning of a new torturous ritual. A religion will commence from this - mark my words.
very good to just chill and take mind off stuff and all that, you prolly wont want to get on but when you do and hear the soundtrack you dont want to get off, very fun though and there is constantly new stuff to explore and when its all explored thats when you mod
Stardew Valley is an absolute gem that brilliantly captures the charm of classic Harvest Moon games while adding its own fresh, modern twist. The gameplay is incredibly addictive, with endless activities like farming, fishing, and building relationships with townsfolk, all set in a world that’s both relaxing and full of surprises.
The pixel art style is nostalgic, beautifully crafted, and gives the game a timeless feel. What makes Stardew Valley even more impressive is that it was singlehandedly developed by Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone. The amount of passion and dedication he poured into this game is inspiring, and it truly shows. Highly recommended!
One of if not the best game to play. Fantastically made. A work of art.
Over 200 hours in the game, and I've never completed the main story.
I don't know what that says about me. I have a lot of fun whenever I play it, I get addicted to it for weeks at a time and finding all the new content that drops in updates while I'm away is always a treat. When I'm bored of single player, there are mods and multiplayer to enjoy; I think about half of my total playtime was spent on co-cop farms, which is a testament to how enjoyable the game is to share with friends.
I never completed the community center bundle without cheats, though. I would either focus too much on the social simulation aspects and getting heart events with my favorite characters, or I would be modding the heck out of the game with my friends in co-op multiplayer and creating cozy cottagecore homes. The game is truly what you make of it - There is so much content to enjoy in the base game and even more ways to customize your experience via modding.
I go through cyclical periods of putting it down for months or even years at a time, but every time I pick it up again I know it will take over my life for awhile. Maybe next time, I'll actually complete the community center.
A must-play for a reason.
Stardew Valley is pure relaxation in game form. With its charming pixel art, soothing music, and a world full of activities like farming, fishing, mining, or simply unwinding, it invites you to explore at your own pace, dive in, and let the stresses of real life melt away.
Stardew Valley is an indie gaming treasure! From the moment you step into Pelican Town, you are embracing a charming, pixelated paradise. Gameplay is phenomenally addictive. Seamlessly fusing farming with mining, fishing, and crafting, it forms this one beautiful, continuous experience that begs for replay after replay.
Your farm can be tailored basically in any way, so it really is a space that becomes unique to you. Refreshing changes in seasons really differentiate each month quite differently in this game. The character interactions are sweet; there's a good variety of townspeople whose stories and friendships deepen with time.
The whole feeling of coziness and immersion with the graphics and soundtrack can easily make one forget about time. Planting crops, mining, or having fun with friends at a festival-all moments will be filled with happiness.
Stardew Valley is not just a game, but it's this wonderful little escapism that begs you to take the time out to relax, take a deep breath, and let go. I can recommend it more for anyone who's in the mood for mixing creativity, adventure, and heartwarming storytelling together. Jump in, and let the farming magic begin!
Superdope farming sim that seems heavily inspired by Harvest Moon. This game is a modern classic and with the recent 1.6 update, they continue to add more fun and interesting content. I highly recommend it if you like2farm.
Amazing game, there is so much content and I could easily play for hours at a time. Stardew is good to play while watching a show and it is extremely replayable. There is a lot to learn so you will probably need to use the wiki to be able to get the most out of the game. Overall a great game with lots to do. Still gets free content updates 8 years after it's release :)
This game has captured my heart, the music is so relaxing and the game itself is so beautiful.
fishing however is a pain XD and the time in game goes so quickly, but they are minor irritations, overall i would reccomend this game in a heart beat <3
I've been playing this game for quite some time. I can't say that I've completed the game itself, as I'm still progressing toward the ending. I played the vanilla and explored almost everything the game has to offer, nearing the end I got easily bored playing the game, maybe around 200-hours of playtime. Then I tried installing the mods, trying different things, and my playtime just doubled, and still ongoing. Thanks to CA for creating the base game, and huge love for modding community that I can enjoy the game more. I recommend playing the game with mods, instead of just the vanilla.
I just want to rant a little bit about the development of the game. Later, I found the news about the departure of Mr. Pondukian from SDV due to a dispute with CA, it makes me sad. The detail can be found in gaming news outlet. It just, I've been there, in his position. Pouring out so much, and was valued so little. I can't say what CA had done is wrong, as he is the owner of the game, and can just do anything he want, but I hope that he can respect those, who had supported him along the way, more instead of throwing tantrum over disputed matters, and try to settle things in a good manner.
OG farming game. A must-play.
I gave up on this game the first time I played it cuz I didn't know what to do. But if you play on, you will love it!!!
