I LOVE this game! It's so cozy and good vibes but also quite grindy too! The character quests are so fun, you have combat in the mines if you want it and then also just the great nature of farming. 10/10 one of my favourite games ever! (don't let the graphics throw you off, you'll grow to love them <3 )
In all of my gaming history there isn't a game that compares to Stardew Valley. In a time where so many games fall short of expectation this one never has. The creator ConcernedApe has time and again shown us this is a game made out of love and not for just profit. It's been 8 years and I haven't paid anything for the updates that have so thoughtfully been provided over the years.
This game plays on almost every console, phone, or PC and has endless replay value, especially when they added multiplayer and modding. What more can you ask for? All the hidden treasures to discover and the bonus updates provided over the years, with nothing asked in return. You have set the bar high here. While this game may not be top of the line graphics, or the most expansive story I've ever played, it has an unmatched charm and integrity that is sorely lacking in the games coming out of late.
Thank you for the years of entertainment and for continuing to update this gem and show it the love it deserves. All the profits you receive are well earned and I wish you the best @ConcernedApe. Worth every penny.
Sincerely,
Willow
This is genuinely one of the best purchases of my life. 1st playthrough was probably the most enjoyable lore I have ever experienced in any game I have played. All the others that followed, with friends were as fun. I love the dev of this game, similar vibe to the Terraria devs, pouring their heart into a game they just can't stop developing. In summary, buy this game. Buy it full price, or buy it on sale. Either way it's a steal.
I AM THE GREATEST FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARMER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 (greatly enjoy this game and its very comfy vibes as well as how i am also politely stressed out by timed missions, would highly recommend)
This game has become one of my favorites. It's both relaxing and stressful depending on how you play. Whether it's focusing on making your farm as cute and efficient as possible while getting to know the people around town or trying to unlock all the floors in the mines while fighting different monsters before the clock hits 2am, StarDew Valley is a work of art! And that's just the tip of the ice burg. You can complete quests to progress the story or just chill and explore the valley. This game has way more to it than I initially thought. Amazing lore! It's easy to see how it became a cult classic game.
Back when Stardew Valley came out, I bought it on the spur of the moment - just because I read an article about this guy who made a beautiful game that he would want to play himself. Even though it's not my cup of tea, genre-wise.
Didn't play it much either, even though it was installed at all times. Over the years, I just looked at the patch notes, appreciated the screenshots, and thought "this is nice” and liked it to be the one wholesome thing in the steam news feed.
Now, almost ten years later, another interview popped up about how he does not want to see the game fizzle out, but instead wants to keep improving and expanding it - so far all with free content updates and patches.
The least I can do now is leave a positive review, because this attitude and appreciation of fans and his own creation deserves respect. This is not just a game but an achievement.
I sacrificed my soul for this game. I love it. It's the beginning of a new torturous ritual. A religion will commence from this - mark my words.
very good to just chill and take mind off stuff and all that, you prolly wont want to get on but when you do and hear the soundtrack you dont want to get off, very fun though and there is constantly new stuff to explore and when its all explored thats when you mod
Stardew Valley is an absolute gem that brilliantly captures the charm of classic Harvest Moon games while adding its own fresh, modern twist. The gameplay is incredibly addictive, with endless activities like farming, fishing, and building relationships with townsfolk, all set in a world that’s both relaxing and full of surprises.
The pixel art style is nostalgic, beautifully crafted, and gives the game a timeless feel. What makes Stardew Valley even more impressive is that it was singlehandedly developed by Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone. The amount of passion and dedication he poured into this game is inspiring, and it truly shows. Highly recommended!
One of if not the best game to play. Fantastically made. A work of art.
Over 200 hours in the game, and I've never completed the main story.
I don't know what that says about me. I have a lot of fun whenever I play it, I get addicted to it for weeks at a time and finding all the new content that drops in updates while I'm away is always a treat. When I'm bored of single player, there are mods and multiplayer to enjoy; I think about half of my total playtime was spent on co-cop farms, which is a testament to how enjoyable the game is to share with friends.
I never completed the community center bundle without cheats, though. I would either focus too much on the social simulation aspects and getting heart events with my favorite characters, or I would be modding the heck out of the game with my friends in co-op multiplayer and creating cozy cottagecore homes. The game is truly what you make of it - There is so much content to enjoy in the base game and even more ways to customize your experience via modding.
I go through cyclical periods of putting it down for months or even years at a time, but every time I pick it up again I know it will take over my life for awhile. Maybe next time, I'll actually complete the community center.
A must-play for a reason.
Stardew Valley is pure relaxation in game form. With its charming pixel art, soothing music, and a world full of activities like farming, fishing, mining, or simply unwinding, it invites you to explore at your own pace, dive in, and let the stresses of real life melt away.
Stardew Valley is an indie gaming treasure! From the moment you step into Pelican Town, you are embracing a charming, pixelated paradise. Gameplay is phenomenally addictive. Seamlessly fusing farming with mining, fishing, and crafting, it forms this one beautiful, continuous experience that begs for replay after replay.
Your farm can be tailored basically in any way, so it really is a space that becomes unique to you. Refreshing changes in seasons really differentiate each month quite differently in this game. The character interactions are sweet; there's a good variety of townspeople whose stories and friendships deepen with time.
The whole feeling of coziness and immersion with the graphics and soundtrack can easily make one forget about time. Planting crops, mining, or having fun with friends at a festival-all moments will be filled with happiness.
Stardew Valley is not just a game, but it's this wonderful little escapism that begs you to take the time out to relax, take a deep breath, and let go. I can recommend it more for anyone who's in the mood for mixing creativity, adventure, and heartwarming storytelling together. Jump in, and let the farming magic begin!
Superdope farming sim that seems heavily inspired by Harvest Moon. This game is a modern classic and with the recent 1.6 update, they continue to add more fun and interesting content. I highly recommend it if you like2farm.
Amazing game, there is so much content and I could easily play for hours at a time. Stardew is good to play while watching a show and it is extremely replayable. There is a lot to learn so you will probably need to use the wiki to be able to get the most out of the game. Overall a great game with lots to do. Still gets free content updates 8 years after it's release :)
This game has captured my heart, the music is so relaxing and the game itself is so beautiful.
fishing however is a pain XD and the time in game goes so quickly, but they are minor irritations, overall i would reccomend this game in a heart beat <3
I've been playing this game for quite some time. I can't say that I've completed the game itself, as I'm still progressing toward the ending. I played the vanilla and explored almost everything the game has to offer, nearing the end I got easily bored playing the game, maybe around 200-hours of playtime. Then I tried installing the mods, trying different things, and my playtime just doubled, and still ongoing. Thanks to CA for creating the base game, and huge love for modding community that I can enjoy the game more. I recommend playing the game with mods, instead of just the vanilla.
I just want to rant a little bit about the development of the game. Later, I found the news about the departure of Mr. Pondukian from SDV due to a dispute with CA, it makes me sad. The detail can be found in gaming news outlet. It just, I've been there, in his position. Pouring out so much, and was valued so little. I can't say what CA had done is wrong, as he is the owner of the game, and can just do anything he want, but I hope that he can respect those, who had supported him along the way, more instead of throwing tantrum over disputed matters, and try to settle things in a good manner.
OG farming game. A must-play.
I gave up on this game the first time I played it cuz I didn't know what to do. But if you play on, you will love it!!!
My hours don't reflect my full playtime on the Switch, but I would say that if you're looking up Stardew Valley, you already know the answer to your question. Yes. This game is as good as they say, and even better. It can be overwhelming a bit when you start because you only have a limited amount of time per day to mine, fish, farm, and try to talk to everyone in town. You'll soon have everything running almost automatically with time and patience, and you'll see why people can't stop talking about this game. It is for sure a 10/10, a must buy

I just love this game. Nothing else quite scratches the same itch for me.
Want a break from late stage capitalism and the soul crushing job you have? Have no fear, Stardew Valley is here! Come to the middle of nowhere and start your own farm with nothing but a few tools and a dream :D I love how relaxing this game can be at times, and the connections you make with the locals and the memories you create are also something so sweet <3 20/10, would recommend with a cup of hot cocoa
great fun game with a good balance between story line and game play with a very unique system for everything
Literally best game ever created, everything you would want and need in a game. Farming? Yes. Mining? Yes. Fishing? Yes. Lore? Yes. Friendships? Yes. Marriage? Yes. Purpose? Yes.
If I could only play one game for the rest of my life it would be Stardew
Probably the best game I've ever played, from the diologue, to the story, to the beautiful scenery; it's just perfect. Recommend to anyone who'd like to feel happiness!
Delightful cozy game! If you enjoy games like Animal Crossing, this is similar, but, like, one level of intensity higher. Interact with the villagers if you enjoy social or romance games, build up your farm if you enjoy efficiency maxxing, or check out the mines if you like to beat up monsters. A good level of challenge and reward if you like to try for perfection. (Plus, there are loads of mods out there to make things easier, more challenging, or more aesthetic, if that's your vibe.) Also very fun as a multi-player!
Stardew Valley is such a chill game where you can farm, make friends, and just soak in the good vibes. I love that it lets you take your time, whether you’re planting crops or going on little adventures in the caves. Watching my farm flourish and adding my personal touch is incredibly satisfying. The music sets a relaxing tone, and each season brings its own unique feel. It’s a blast to play solo or with friends, and whenever life gets a little overwhelming, Stardew Valley helps me find a level of calm that few other games can match. This cozy escape is one I keep returning to, time and time again.

Stardew Valley is an absolute dream! You start with this cute little farm, and before you know it, you’re growing the prettiest crops, raising adorable animals, and making the sweetest friends in town. Everything is just so wholesome—the pixel art is super cute, and the game just feels like a big, warm hug. 💖
There’s so much to do, from fishing to exploring, but you can take it nice and slow. It’s relaxing, cozy, and just SO addicting!
I have 450 hours in this game, modded and unmodded, and it's a game I constantly go back to. Worth the hype and it's endless amounts of praises. Please play this game no mods, no wiki, just sit back and enjoy.
This game is an absolute masterpiece, especially by a single creator doing his best to make a good game.
The story is interesting and has layers that can expanded upon with mods, theorizing, or otherwise perhaps later on in the game's development; the relationships are all unique and interesting, and the gameplay can appeal to anyone because of the varied tasks.
It's a chill and one of the best games I've ever played in my life. It's like real life but in a game. This game deserves a big "yes"
This game is an unhealthy drug addiction. It will consume you. I can't stop watering my plants. My first sitting was 9 hours long I played through an entire season.
Honestly, in my view, Stardew Valley is more for a niche audience, especially those who appreciate old-school charm. I played it just to tick it off my gaming experience list, and because of its fascinating development story, which was covered by Jason Schreier and which you might not know.
Eric Barone lived off his girlfriend’s income while they struggled to make ends meet, renting a modest house with friends, all while his family doubted the project’s success. Yet, through four years of determination, he taught himself everything from coding to art and music, creating what became an indie sensation and a modern tribute to Harvest Moon. His dedication resulted in a game that has since captivated players around the world.
After Stardew Valley gained popularity, Eric Barone, the game's creator, had the opportunity to meet Yasuhiro Wada, the original creator of the Harvest Moon series. This meeting was significant, as Wada had been an inspiration for Barone during his development of Stardew Valley. When they met, Wada expressed admiration for Barone's work and how he had successfully revitalized the farming sim genre. This encounter was a touching moment for Barone, as it felt like a full-circle experience—his childhood inspiration acknowledging his hard work and success.
I like such kind of stories. Such cases are crucial for understanding gaming, the nuances of the industry, and the involvement of individual creators and their dedication. They highlight how personal sacrifices and passion for beloved games can drive innovation and inspire future generations of developers
As a mental result, Stardew Valley is the only game where you can leave your soul-crushing corporate job to find inner peace by... growing parsnips. It’s part farming, part small-town gossip simulator, where your toughest decision is whether to plant cauliflower or finally talk to the brooding guy at the saloon.
I feel my time hasn’t come yet to fall in love with this game, and I believe, that time will come one day.
For me and for now, it's more about the story of the game than the game itself.
They all said Stardew Valley was the best game in the world. I had to be the tardy idiot that I was until 2024 to prove them correct. This game is every bit a masterpiece of pure gameplay fun they all claimed it was. This is what sandbox video games should be like. This is proof that hard work and dedication never betrays you.
All hail ConcernedApe. I hope there are more Stardew Valley success stories out there. I wish I could play a game like Stardew Valley again, and have at least the same amount of fun. Until then, I'll just continue playing Stardew Valley.
One of my favorite non FPS games, very easy to play for hours on end but still have fun/enjoy the game
no more words than "this game flipping rules". possibly the best crafting game for a chill out session i've ever seen
10000/10 game! vv cozy and addicting. i divorced leah tho bc she cheated on me. when i went co-op she slept w my friend every night :'( anyways, best game ever!!!!!!!! <3
Just start playing for a couple of hours. I must say it is a soul-healing game after all those hardcore online games.
I have this on gog too - so the hours should be about 200.
IT is a peaceful, tranquil, boring waste of time. Does it do it well? Fuck yeah! If you play a little bit before bed then cool. But it is a time waster, that is, a waste of time. The play loop : Character goes to bed - "I'll just do x y or z." There is no intra-day save, only at bedtime is a save put down (though you can go to bed at any time), so you spend the day doing stuff. Go to bed to get a game save - "I'll just do y x z" RINSE AND REPEAT.
"It's not you - it's me." I liked Stray as it was short and sweet - played, had a great time, then it pissed off. I dislike infinite games that go on and on and on and... with marginal changes. I'm not sure if SV has a win state: if it has it is beyond the 100 hours i put into a single game save.
It is charming and zen and and has an OCD game loop - it's just not for me.
this game is chill, good music. lots of things to do and has honestly interesting npcs. If you dont like this game you must seek mental health, thank you.
I love this game! not only is it relaxing and zen to garvest and take care of your wild life, but you get to enjoy getting married and following a storyline as well! I recommend this game to all ages!
Stardew is love. Stardew is life.
You WILL buy an overpriced, purple turtle. You WILL enjoy it!!!!
There's nothing else to say about Stardew Valley that no one has ever said before. I just wanted to say that it's the perfect game for the Steam Deck. The pixel graphics and colors look sooo good and bright and, well, colorful on the OLED; so good you want to lick the screen (for the record, I didn't lick it). Gameplay-wise, it's insanely addictive, infinitely replayable, and you can pick it up and play everywhere, whether on the bed, the couch, or even a jog (if that's your jam).
Cozy but not boring game. Gives me the same satisfaction as minecraft and pokemon.
Stardew Valley is a game I keep coming back to. Whenever life smacks me down, Stardew Valley helps me maintain a level of calm and sanity that other games can't come close to.
Even without mods, Stardew Valley has tons of things to do, and with over 400hrs played, I think that says a lot about a game!
Literally any time a friend expresses interest in SV, I buy them the game, because the price point is easy for me to take. Super enjoyable game 10/10 recommend.
I started playing this in 2016 just after I had seriously broken multiple bones in my leg and ankle. It was my constant companion while I was recovering. I figured after I recovered I'd never play it again, but lo, it's 8 years later and I'm still playing and discovering new things. I love that this game is still receiving new content and that it is still a perfect little gem. After a hard day at work, this is a nice little world to jump back into and play for awhile.
My only objection is that the steam deck standard controls aren't great and it feels like this should be easier to fix. (like, I should be able to configure cycling my tool bar to a key?)
I have played this game for 690 hours, 450 on the switch, 250 on my computer. My cat in real life is named Junimo. I love this game so much, and little Junimo is the light of my life.
I didn't enjoy it, and don't get the hype. If I wanted to grind out the same chores every day to survive in a world where people are slow to trust or like you, I would just live real life.
INcredibly highly contented game, high replay value, free DLC. Music absolutely iconic.
My favorite game of all time. Great balance of repeated farm activities and larger goals, and some of the best support for mods I've ever seen. Utterly charming.
