Stardew Valley is a delightful and relaxing farming simulator that quickly became a beloved classic in the gaming community. Whether you're a fan of cozy, laid-back experiences or you're looking for a game that lets you escape into a peaceful rural setting, Stardew Valley offers hours of content and a world filled with charm and heart.
In Stardew Valley, you inherit a run-down farm and are tasked with transforming it into a thriving agricultural haven. You'll plant crops, raise animals, mine for resources, and craft various items—all while interacting with the colorful townsfolk who each have their own unique stories and personalities. The game strikes the perfect balance between relaxing routine and rewarding progression, where every season brings new opportunities and challenges.
What makes Stardew Valley so special is its depth and attention to detail. The farming mechanics are simple to grasp, but the game also offers complex systems like fishing, cooking, and even a rich farming economy. The townspeople are not only fun to get to know but also provide emotional depth, as you can build relationships, attend festivals, and even marry one of them.
There's always something to do in Stardew Valley, whether you're focusing on making your farm more efficient, improving your skills, or exploring the local caves for treasure and combat challenges. And with a peaceful soundtrack and beautiful pixel art, the game’s atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it easy to lose yourself in its world for hours at a time.
Stardew Valley is the perfect game for anyone who wants a soothing yet immersive experience. It's ideal for players of all ages, whether you’re looking to unwind after a long day or embark on a new farming adventure. The game’s charm, depth, and sense of progression will keep you coming back time and time again. If you haven’t experienced it yet, now’s the time to start your farming adventure—you’ll find yourself hooked before you know it!
This game is amazing like the wind inbetween my buttcheeks, it flows like water below the otter. This masterpeice is a beast, feliz navida chacha. gatcha feelin like a bunch ah salsa all up in my call ah baller feelin like a real father dont bother to fauster a whole bunch of mountsters. Got touched by linus only to find the finest bait in the whole highness got me feelin tinest bite on the rod. The wizard looked pizard when I notioned the lizard in his gizard casting a blizard on my whole Hibbard.
It's just the perfect game. No matter how much I play the story over and over again, I never feel bored. It always finds a way to make me feel like I'm a new player.
There is so much joy in playing and relaxing. I love the deep story lines, and just everything makes me happy. I love the game!
This is probably the best birthday gift I got!
Very slow chill game, not for me. You have to walk to every place manually, you have to sleep very frequently, I spend 90% of the game walking back and forth.
praying to get reincarnated as david barone in my next life but yeah this game is GOOD like so good bro and my taste is impeccable so give it a shot hehe
Stardew Valley is an absolute masterpiece. its relaxing yet engaging gameplay loop, it's a game that can easily steal tens of hours. The farming, crafting, mining, and exploring are all incredibly well designed, and the sense of progression is really satisfying.
However, if there's one thing that could be improved, it's the relationships with NPCs. While giving gifts and seeing heart events is enjoyable, interactions outside of that feel a bit shallow. This is especially noticeable after marriage, where your spouse has limited dialogue and doesn't evolve much over time. It would be great to see more dynamic interactions, evolving relationships, and deeper character development in the future.
That being said, Stardew Valley remains one of the best indie games ever made, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who enjoys cozy, life-sim experiences.
Before deciding to buy this game on PC, I had already spent countless hours playing it on my Xbox. Now, I’ve decided to share my thoughts and write a review of this amazing game—because it would feel wrong not to give it the positive recognition it deserves.
Stardew Valley is more than just a game; it’s a tranquil escape. Taking over my rundown farm, I quickly got hooked on planting crops, fishing, and exploring the mines. The freedom to play at my own pace was refreshing, whether I focused on farming or building relationships with the villagers. The pixel art and seasonal music created an atmosphere that felt nostalgic and relaxing. One highlight was connecting with the characters—forming friendships and even marrying felt surprisingly rewarding.
For anyone looking for a cozy yet engaging experience, Stardew Valley is a must-play. It’s simple, personal, and enjoyable.
One of the best games I've ever played. This gave has saved me a lot. concernedape is a treasure for making this! there isn't one negative comment, even the mods are really cool too. the soundtrack is phenomenal!
No need for many words. This game is the best farming game so far. Sorry, Harvest Moon
Worth it worth it worth it. Trust me, it's worth it. It's been a very long time since I've poured myself into games, and Stardew brought it back!
Just not into this kind of game. love farming, mining, exploration, and quests but not the limited to time, NPCs on schedules, story/dialogue, and not open-world stuff. Did this purely to see if steam would not recommend stardew-like games to me.
Relaxing farming game, in a beautiful pixel environment.
I mean relaxing in the beginning, until you want to achieve it all. Get everything ready for the community centre in the season, to be done with it after the year and after a while grinding to get all skills to full level for later on things in the game etc.
But it is so much fun and so much to do. You can also decide what you wanna do in your pace.
And also playing with friends works incredibly fine.
Total recommendation.
Imagine......
You live in the busy, foggy city in an old and rusty appartment. Life is boring the h3ll out of you and the average day feels just the same as any other. Nothing special here in the big city. Nothing but screaming sirens, yelling people, big crowds and polluting gasses of vehicles.
Then, you get an email. Your grandfather died and you inherited this old farm of his. You move to a town called Stardew Valley and it feels like you traveled time and was put into before the industrial revolution. Everything seems simple, people are on a slow-pace. Yet there are some annoyances like that-one Joja Market. You meet very hot people, like Sebastian and Maru, also some annoying ones like the elderly, but it doesn't feel as crowded as the city.
You make your DREAM life on the farm, get some animals and spend ours watering your still tiny a$$ land. Soon, you will discover secrets of other lands and you go deep below the surface of the mines. Every day is different and you deffo need to have the spirits on your side or else ur f-ed.
Embark on your farming journey, you won't be disappointed. I will never ever return.
Stardew Valley: All Is Infused with Love
Few games embody the concept of "love" as fully as Stardew Valley. From its pixel-perfect graphics to its heartfelt characters and free-flowing updates, every aspect of this game radiates the passion of its creator, Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone.
From the very first moment you step onto your grandfather’s old farm, you can feel the love that went into crafting this world. The visual style is nostalgic yet fresh, with colors that pop and animations that bring Pelican Town to life. Each season brings its own palette, music, and activities, immersing you in the rhythm of nature. The soundtrack, composed by Barone himself, is soothing and evocative, accompanying you perfectly as you till fields, fish by the river, or explore the mines.
The gameplay mechanics strike a fine balance between simplicity and depth. Farming—the heart of the game—offers an incredible sense of progression. From the humble beginnings of hand-watering a few parsnips to managing sprawling fields with sprinklers and automated systems, every step feels rewarding. Crops have varying growth cycles and profitability, inviting experimentation. The addition of animals, artisan goods, and seasonal events adds layers of complexity to farming that never feel overwhelming.
Beyond the farm, the game’s mines offer an entirely different pace with dungeon-crawling and combat mechanics. Here, players collect valuable resources while battling slimes, bats, and other creatures. These sections add variety and a sense of adventure, ensuring that no two days in Stardew Valley feel the same.
But it’s in the smallest details where Stardew Valley truly shines. From the rustle of leaves as you walk through Cindersap Forest to the unique quirks of every villager, you can tell that no aspect of this game was overlooked. Even mundane tasks like watering crops or chopping wood feel satisfying, thanks to the thoughtfulness behind the design. The open-ended nature of the game also fosters creativity, encouraging players to design their farms, decorate their homes, and pursue whatever goals resonate most with them.
Pelican Town is a community brimming with life and stories. The villagers aren’t mere caricatures; they’re complex, relatable people with dreams, struggles, and moments of joy. Building relationships isn’t just a gameplay mechanic; it’s an act of love. Helping Shane find hope, encouraging Emily to embrace her creativity—each interaction adds layers to the game’s emotional depth. Relationships evolve over time, with heart events that reveal each character’s personality and growth. The game’s inclusivity also deserves praise: you can marry any eligible character, regardless of gender, and the tone is consistently warm and accepting.
Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Stardew Valley is the way it continues to give. Since its release in 2016, Barone has poured his heart into free updates that add new features, areas, and gameplay elements. These updates aren’t just bug fixes; they’re gifts. Multiplayer mode, additional farm layouts, new crops, and even entire storylines have been added over the years, always for free. Barone’s dedication to enhancing the experience without charging extra is a rare and beautiful act of generosity in an industry often driven by profits.
The game’s impact extends beyond its content. The modding community has flourished, creating new experiences and extending the game’s longevity. From simple quality-of-life improvements to entirely new farm types, mods have allowed players to customize the game in ways that suit their preferences. Multiplayer mode, meanwhile, has turned farming into a collaborative effort, fostering connections among friends and family.
At its core, Stardew Valley is about love—not just romantic love, but love for nature, community, and creativity. It’s about taking something overgrown and chaotic and nurturing it into something beautiful. It’s a reflection of Barone’s own journey, creating the game entirely on his own, pouring years of effort and passion into every pixel.
Whether you’re tending to your crops, fishing by the ocean, or sharing a Stardrop with your spouse under the stars, Stardew Valley offers an experience that feels like a warm embrace. It’s a reminder that games can be more than entertainment; they can be acts of love.
Stardew Valley is proof that when something is made with love, it can touch the hearts of millions. If you’ve ever longed for a game that feels like home, this is it. Play it, cherish it, and let it remind you of the beauty that love can create.
By design a relaxing, 'comfort' game. There are not really any ways to 'fail' the game, and you can take as much time as you need to accomplish tasks without having to worry about missing content (apart from one event) or achieving perfection.
I do, however, think that it is not very beginner friendly, in that the game tells you very little. So much of my time was spent having to read the wiki right from the beginning (community centre route). I felt quite stressed at times, in that there is always an overwhelmingly large amount of tasks to do in such short days. Though this is most likely just due to my tendency to min-max each day, and again the game does not force you to accomplish anything at all. You can sleep through years of the game and still be completely fine.
Nevertheless, I've had an amazing time and have reached perfection in a 102 hour save (finding 50 Pepper Rex was a STRUGGLE). Looking forward to my next playthrough on a different farm layout :).
I got the game 4 days ago and I already have 47 hours in it, that should be enough to get the idea.
This is the greatest game I’ve ever played, I have not spent this much time playing a game, for comparison I got this game last week of me reviewing, and I already have OVER 100 HOURS ON THIS GAME
There’s so much content and you can play for hours straight without getting bored. Stardew Valley is extremely calming and relaxing, and is extremely fun for some reason, 10/10 game.
It's a very chill game. Something to play with friends or when you just want to take a break from high tempo games. Highly recommend for farming sim games.
Listen, I tried for 50 hours. The relationship building is quite mechanical - you're essentially "filling a meter" by giving gifts and having brief conversations, rather than having dynamic or branching interactions. Each character only has a limited set of dialogue that changes seasonally or based on heart events, which can feel repetitive over time. This would be fine if I thought the main game loop was enjoyable.
Love this game. I discovered this because my friend posted something about this and I'm instantly hooked.
I bought it in other platforms too, lol. Don't have the time now but it's easily the best game I've ever played. Fishing is challenging, BUT very enjoyable for me. The standard farm is very large even without mods. hngg~lablab <3
Really can't recommend this enough. I have +700 hours across all devices (got it on pc, switch, and mobile) and I still find things to do. It's SO fun and immersive, you will never grow bored of it. Only "downside" is you'll start playing and suddenly 10 hours will go by without you realizing lol!!
Well...I broke down and picked up Stardew Valley...finally. I thought a Farming/Crafting/Fishing game was more something for my children or wife. I ended up falling in love with this title, like most of the reviewers.
I highly recommend Stardew Valley for all type of gamers.
I LOVE it as a break from my more violent and stressful games...This helps center my mind...much like Meditation.
I have become attached to my little Farm.
Im going back in, and get some Fish...wish me luck.
Didn't want to play it because I was a hardcore Harvest Moon fan, but I def agree its Harvest Moon but much better. Sad there won't be any updates after 1.6, but I'm excited for Haunted Chocolatier!
Very relaxing but also pretty engaging still. Fun and a good way to wind down the day
The best farming sim hands down. The base game can last you hundreds of hours and modding is easy and adds insane amounts of depth and customisation. More than worth the price. The co-op is also a great experience.
Amazing game! Just the right balance of structure and freedom to keep each play through interesting. ConcernedApe is the best! The music, the art style, the story lines - he did a fantastic job.
Great cozy game, fun characters, cool dev.. what else can you ask for?
It's not as tedious as I thought it would be and the interactions are so cute :)
If you are looking for a chill games to play over the weekend or holiday. Stardew valley might be for you and also your friends since its CO-OP but at this current time of this review it is not cross plat form, please be aware. This games brings catchy soundtrack that you'll find yourself humming and unique mechanics such as fishing and completing bundles to progress. As much as it is a farming game it also has a ton of NPC interactions some odd like eating rocks and other really cool ones such as watching rock concert. Stardew Valley is not just a farming simulator but also a game about a world or valley should i say, were you with or without your friends can enjoy the art, challenges, interactions, the small stress about preparing for next season and most importantly the feeling of accomplishment that you earn from your buildings and friendships that you obtain. I hope you find yourself having as much fun as i have, good luck!
Possibly the greatest cozy game ever made. There is SO MUCH to do in this game and it's so relaxing to play. And the mods you can get make the game play even more endless! I would EASILY pay double what this game costs. If mods aren't your thing, I still highly recommend getting the fishing one to avoid the fishing game because it's super annoying if you can't get the hang of it lol. This game has so many cool things:
- interesting storyline
- fishing
- farming
- husbandry
- you can have your own pet(s)
- cooking
- mining
- exploring
- romance
- having a family
- different zones/areas
- different mines
- sharing farmland with up to 3 friends
- stardew valley expanded adds more locations/towns and a lot more people! Which means more romance options
This game is one of my favorites and it's so much more fun with friends! You won't be sorry you purchased it! And it's crazy to think the entire game was made by ONE GUY!!!!
BUY THE GAME NOW!!!!
расслабляющая игра с нотками разрыва жопы от рыбалки, потери голоса от криков когда тебя кошмарят непонятные летающие твари в шахте, а так, в целом очень расслабляет
I LOVE THIS GAME. I come back to it every time, it is my comfort game. Some of my favourite parts of the game are the storylines and the complex lives of the Pelican Town NPCs. Their is a surprising depth to the game and to its characters. I also love the simple pixel art style and the warm colours and cozy feel. There can be a bit of a learning curve if you've never played, a lot of hindsight moments if you decide to play blind (which can be fun in its own way) but the Stardew wiki is extensive and there are MANY mods available on Nexus mods. I have played exclusively vanilla until about 3 days ago and I am loving the mod expansions (SVE + Ridgeside). Love love love, can't recommend enough. I recommend Nexus for Stardew mods.
I loved the graphics most of all. I also loved the characters and the backdrops, which were most diverting and totally applicable to the imagination. Do you want to be a male or female character? Does this main character marry a male or female. You can choose who you want to be with and must learn about them in order to woo them. This was a fascinating process. The backdrops, in the meantime, helped the process to bloom with many a unique glimpse into the daily life of the characters.
Game of the Decade. Just buy it, it will destroy your real life productivity, but Linus deserves you more than your actual family.
I was told about this game from my best friend and fell in love with it. I love all the work ConcernedApe done for this game, truly best game in my opinion. He cares about This Game with new content wonderful muics and stories, and he listens to his player and does his best to to make sure the game is and stays enjoyable
I’m obsessed with this game – it’s like wrapping up in a cozy blanket with my favorite cup of tea. It’s my little escape when life gets too much. Whether I’m playing solo or teaming up with friends, it never gets old. I’ve already sunk over 500 hours into it, and I know I’ll keep coming back for more.

super good but would be better if it HAD ACCOUNTS AND YOUR SAVED GAME CAN BE PLAYED ON EVERY DEVICE CAUSE IM SUPER CRACKED AT MY PHONE AND PLAY FOR 3 HOURS EVERYDSY, thanks conceredape
Honestly one of my favorite games to Co-Op of all time. Really helped get me through some tough times this year with a friend of mine!
Stardew Valley is my ultimate go to for relaxation !!!!!!!!!!!! After intense CS sessions, I love unwinding with this cozy farming sim. The music is super chill and brings back so many nostalgic memories of times that’ll never come back. I adore tending to my crops and taking care of the animals on my farm, it’s so satisfying and peaceful. The town and its people just make me feel at home. But, gotta admit, the mine does give me a little bit of the creeps lol haha All in all, Stardew Valley is my perfect way to detox and escape into a calmer, more wholesome world S2
i'm sure this game is great when you really get into it; unfortunately, i just can't. time-based mechanics are very stressfull for me, and my impression is that stardew valley has a LOT of those. how could i possibly feel relaxed when i have to remember to water the crops, talk to everyone in town, figure out what gifts they like, and check out whatever seasonal thing is going on at the moment, every single day, and find whatever i need for the community center?! if i want a game to relax to, i boot up celeste, because a having a simple, predictable wall to repeatedly mash your face against is relaxing to me. evidently though, a lot of people aren't like me. but if you are, stay clear of this game
First impression: its calming, good, nice ost, nice artwork. Overall i love it.
harvest moon/10
My number one escapism game. You can literally feel the love and dedication of the developer. It never gets boring and I love the farming and social aspect of the game, plus you can fight monsters, fish, attend events, build your home, raise animals...
I literally don't have a single negative thing to say about this masterpiece of a cozy but addicting game.
This game is pure comfort. You start with a rundown farm and turn it into whatever you want – a thriving crop empire, an animal sanctuary, or just a cozy place to fish and relax. There’s no wrong way to play.
The townspeople all feel unique, and getting to know them is surprisingly rewarding. I didn’t expect to care about the stories and events, but they’re really wholesome (and sometimes funny).
The gameplay loop is so addictive – plant, grow, harvest, repeat – but it never feels stressful. You set your own pace. Whether you're farming, mining, fishing, or decorating your house, it’s just fun.
If you’re looking for something chill but still engaging, Stardew Valley is 100% worth it. Plus, it’s made by one person. That’s just insane.
Stardew Valley is a game that lets you immerse yourself in a world filled with charm, tranquility, and freedom.
The game doesn’t punish you for taking your time, giving you the freedom to do what you want each day. Combined with characters who feel like real friends and a world full of discoveries, it creates an engaging and heartwarming experience that invites you to explore everything.
From cultivating crops to exploring the town and building relationships, there’s always something to enjoy. It’s the ideal game to relax, have fun, and find joy in the simple moments.
Truly one of the best games of all time and one of my most-played. Has enormous replay value, and mods add to this. The developer loves this game and gives it massive support - including mod functionality. I've even bought this for friends and family. It's a bargain to pick up on sale, and IMO is worth double normal price with how much enjoyment it's brought me. Thank you Eric for the years of fun. I hope you win the Labor of Love award.
Yes, I recommend this - highly.
Absolutely wonderful game, phenomenal soundtrack, great artstyle, my friend tried to name a chicken dahmer so we killed him behind a denny's, 10/10
Addictive game. You can easily play it for many hours and not get sick of it(Until you run out of content). By many hours, I am talking about hundreds. You can also install mods which enhance the gameplay, add story, new characters, new areas, new items and many many more.
It is also a great game that you can play with your friends & family. Super fun & highly recommended.
Stardew Valley is a game where you start with a little patch of land and end up married, rich, and best friends with the whole village. At first, you plant a couple of seeds, but soon you’re watering them at 3 a.m., thinking, ‘Please don’t wilt!’
The graphics are simple but so cozy that you’ll want to wrap yourself in a blanket and sip tea while fishing or digging through the mines. And the music? It’s like a warm hug for your soul—even when a slime eats you.
I have Stardew Valley on every platform (missing an Xbox) I don't know if that's enough to tell you much I love this game or how much I spend money on games lmao
Jokes aside, the only experience I had to a farming game prior to Stardew was the Harvest Moon DS. I remember vividly how much I loved to farm, take care of my animals, talk to the villagers, restore the community there. With Stardew I got to feel the same experience but telfold!!
ConcernedApe not only made the best predecessor to HM but a game with a still active community where I am lucky enough to say I've made amazing friends from. To this very day it keeps being entertaining and most of all, inspiring.
