Fun game semi accurate on pc building kinda how car mechanic sim is semi accurate on being a car mechanic lol the only downside is the game doesnt feel finished and feels they could have done alot more with it but with the low price tag and probably not enough sales to warrant the effort the devs have abandoned the game and no longer issue updates. Nothing game breaking disable vsync and you'll be fine
Edit: after putting a bit more time into the game i wouldnt reccomend it. it pets the itch of wanting to build a pc but honeslty i feel the people who made this have never built one ''replace hdd'' so you replace it and it shows incomplete and breaks the game and you cant complete quests it's just an insanley poorly bare bones game that runs out of fun pretty quickly. Don't buy because the Dev's havnt touched it in over a year and a half
Definitely a trip down memory lane. When RAZER made the Nagas, when EVGA made GPUs, When AIOs were worse than custom loops.
Game wise, it's a game where you can just chill. There are still a lot of weird quirks (wdym my aio cant fit because of ram sticks?? just move the tube aside??)
If you want to chill and perhaps have some nostalgia for what PC building was a few years ago, this is the game.
Great game for getting a better understanding of customizing PCs. A bit of a grind at times but if you enjoy the creative passion of putting together different PC builds, you'll love it no problem.
This needs to be played with tempered expectations, the nature of this game is to simulate the experience but falls short of doing so on a number of aspects. There is so much minutia that goes into building a pc that would be hard to cover... If I had to use other games to make a comparison as to "how simulate-y" the process of building the pc is - think less "my summer car" and more "gran turismo"
There is almost no crossover between how I would diagnose a pc in real life vs "diagnosing" a pc in this game. I have to remind myself though, its a game, not a training tool.
To me, the primary purpose of a game like this is to visualize a build in 3d space. For that, it is absolutely fantastic. You can build a pc in real life that looks more or less just like what you've built in game, as long as you are trying to put together a budget build with older parts. Obviously I've arrived at this title a little late, with that it's expected that the top of the line products would be two or three generations old.
The game it's self is fun enough. Emails with terrible spelling, unknown issues with customer computers, accidentally ordering parts you didn't need or weren't compatible. Managing several builds in a day can be very chaotic, especially if you found out you put an item you ordered for another customer in a pc you already collected on.
All in all it's good for what it is. If you are thinking about building an older budget computer and would like to see what those components would look like all together, pc building simulator is worth it's price as a visualizer alone. Thats why I bought it and thats why you should buy it too.
Some rough edges that could be improved but I recommend this as an education app to all schools's IT classes, especially during a time when kids get more and more addicted and reliant on smartphone and could not solve the simplest PC issue, let alone build one themselves.
Absolute fun, was not sure at first but once I started I was hooked instantly! 100% would tell everyone to get this game!!
Its cool in concept but i think it got a little to real (could be a good thing to others)
'PC Building Simulator' is a cheaper and more relaxing alternative to building computers in real life. There is no worry of breaking hardware and is inexpensive in comparison to buying computer components. In 'PC Building Simulator' you take over your uncle's PC repair shop and diagnose, fix, upgrade, and build computers for your clientele! The game's controls are very simple and relaxing, while also offering baseline knowledge of computer hardware to the player! There is also plenty of fun interactions to see in game and the DLC's offer new storylines and components to explore too! The game goes on sale fairly often for a good price ($5) so be sure to pick it up if you find technology, specifically PC hardware, interesting. Don't forget the thermal paste! ;P
Its the most effective way to start PC building, its easy and efficient to use and navigate through. There are youtube videos that can guide you through the process.

Its fun, cozy, easy, PCBS2 is a bit more in depth. but its on epic store.
Accidentally gave Uncle Tim $5000, went into -$3000 debt and didn't have another another save to go back, so I had to create a new game! But, overall PCBM is a fun game and became my only addiction besides GAMBLING, of course!
Got into it. Started jamming with the music. Noticed I ordered parts for 3-5 work days instead of next day and missed two repairs. _stress_

its alright for the price, only issue i see is the fact its missing newest gen GPU and stuff, but for what its worth it ight
The game is a decent way to get the hang of building a pc, but the career mode gets so grindy after a while, because after a certain point you've seen all the variations of tasks there are, but the amount of xp you get for completing them is so little compared to how much you need to reach the next level. I suggest looking up a way on the Internet for faster levelling.
It really itches that want to build PC's when you don't have money for new parts. I used to have to troubleshoot PC's and it feels like I'm at work but I only have to do the fun stuff (aka not responding to emails). :)
game is unplayable with no fix in sight and all steam wants is to refund you no help what so ever and epic games was just as bad
Great game, great content and fun to play! I just wish it was multiplayer so i can play with friends
great game but fix slow and glitchy walking
i recommend
PC Building Simulator is like that time you watched a YouTube video of someone assembling a computer and thought, "I could totally do that." Then you tried, and your computer exploded—metaphorically, of course. But with this game, it’s more like a safe, virtual explosion where your dignity remains intact, and you only need to reset the software every 45 seconds.
Let’s talk game play: The premise is simple—you’re running a PC repair shop and your job is to build, upgrade, and troubleshoot computers. Think of it as House Flipper, but with a lot more dust and wires that seem to have a vendetta against you. You’ll start by installing a graphics card the wrong way, probably fry a few components, and then realise you’ve just spent 30 minutes trying to figure out why the power button isn’t working (pro tip: it's not plugged in).
The “Realistic” mode is an absolute thrill, where you get to deal with customer orders that are just vague enough to make you question your life choices. Is it really the power supply that’s busted, or are they just saying that because they’re secretly running Bitcoin mining software and don't want you to know? The suspense! The drama!
And let’s not forget about the impeccable customer service. There's nothing more satisfying than receiving an order for a computer that “just needs a little tweaking,” only to realise you’ve been sent on a wild goose chase to install a 10TB hard drive and “optimise the airflow,” all while trying to figure out how the heck to clean a case without accidentally damaging everything in sight. Pro tip: Just vacuum everything with your laptop running, it’s fine.
But honestly, the highlight is the actual building process. You get to play around with different components, click on things, and watch as they either magically fit together like a perfect Lego set or fail miserably like your last Tinder date. The real kicker is when you successfully boot up the computer and it actually works. It's the most satisfying thing in the world, even though you might not understand why.
And then there’s the “Free Build” mode, where you can go wild and build your dream rig without the pressure of customer expectations. That’s when the true chaos starts. You’ll throw in the latest GPU, slap on 16 sticks of RAM, throw in a few RGB lights just to spite your bank account, and then try to figure out why your PC sounds like a jet engine taking off. But hey, at least it looks cool, right?
In conclusion, if you’ve ever thought about building a PC but feared the chaos of real-world mistakes (or the guilt of actually spending money), PC Building Simulator is the perfect way to prepare. It’s a hilarious, oddly therapeutic way to embrace your inner geek while quietly avoiding the inevitable disaster that is “replacing the thermal paste.
10/10, would accidentally install a 10,000 RPM fan again.
Fun game, You learn new things about pc components and other stuff.
PC Building Sim. is quite an amazing and incredibly fun and relaxing experience. I would liken this game to Powerwash Sim. in how addicting this game can be. I'm currently playing through the story mode and find myself playing for hours after saying "I'll just upgrade a few PC's then log off". Fast forward 5 hours later when I've completed more than 30 missions and have gone through multiple in-game weeks.
This game not only showcases how fun (and sometimes how frustrating) PC building can actually be in real life. Not to mention, the PC parts in this game such as the CPU, Fans, Cases, RAM, etc, are all based on actual components that you could use IRL. Like Intel for CPU for example.
I find this game very therapeutic and would definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun experience!
if you are looking for a game that simulates pc building, then this is the game for you
Very fun to past time. i used this to supplement my studies for IT support. all around very great game
A fun way to distract yourself if you like build fix or tinker with things without the headache of paying for it yourself.
great simulator for brushing up on computer hardware knowledge
I do like it, don't get me wrong, but its taking too much ram for my laptop. The only time I've ever played a game that preferred a cooling pad or my fans in turbo just to play in low settings is freaking baldur's gate. and this is trying to do the same?? seriously? even sims 4 doesn't need those extra cooling.
I really enjoy this game! It's pretty fun, and the fact that they even have a free build option is crazy enough. And I also want to say that this PC Building Simulator, doesn't have full-on mod support which sucks, and the developers are stupid to go from Steam to Epic.
But all in all it's a great game, I wish that I knew how to mod this game though..
It's a fun time waster if you want to build PCs, but for learning, it's useful to a point, it oversimplifies, overcomplicates and just flat out chooses to be visibly wrong at times, sometimes only to an expert, other times to anyone with common sense.
I would strongly recommend though, getting this version over the sequel, which performs terribly, somehow has even less selection than PCBS 1 in places and realistically only adds 40 and 70 series GPUs.
bro this game sucks, the movement never even worked bro i was moving in 2 fps but everything else was fine
It's amazing how games can make learning so much fun. This game has a lot to offer in terms of knowledge about computers. I love that it provides a hands-on way to understand different components and troubleshooting techniques. While it's great to learn through games, nothing beats consulting a professional when it comes to actual repairs.
I think this game is a fun way to learn about computer components and where they go and to get a idea of learning about their compatibility with each other. It has a pretty realistic internet of parts and pricing. It is also makes a challenge for working on multiple computers and dealing with customers and their corks. Not that you see actual people (characters, but with emails).
As far as the technical side of updating bios and other things I think your probably not going to learn a lot here. It gives a pseudo basic system, install this or that. My knowledge isn't really enough to even try to say what I am trying to say. But for the rest I think is great. I asked a young guy who was installing a new processor in my computer today, if he ever played the game. He said he had looked at it and thought it looks like fun but he has not play it. For me it is a game I play when I want to wind down. It's not to demanding but I think it plays well for what it is.
This game is surprisingly good! It teaches you how to fix or even upgrade the PC :)
I'm a real-life computer repairman.
I used this game for benchmarking at work.
I can play computer repairman while being a computer repairman at the computer repair shop.
nice
i'm gonna be an IT admin. this game can teach pros and entry-level geeks of how to build a computer. i totally recommend it if you guys have an interest of computers like i do
Currently learning about PC repair and this has been a great way to get secondhands-on experience, so to speak. It also helps to be able to fiddle with components of a PC after learning about them in a textbook without having to take my own PC apart for dissection and possible mucking up (I promised my bestie I would not mess with his glorious work that is my current build without him present).
Great to get an idea of PC components, where and how they fit, and would highly recommend this for anyone just getting into ITF+ or A+.
fun creative game, good for someone who is interested in building pc's ig
In the PC BUILDING SIMULATOR you can be sure that all the PC parts are there (I could be wrong), you can build any PC that can be built in real life, you can do graphics tests and more.
its as it says, a pc building simulator. its a total grind, you have to really think about which parts to purchase in advance and managing orders. Dont expect to be blown away its actually quite restrictive game in the sense that you mostly just press buttons and it does the work for you with little options to customize as you want. I know the second one is much much more detailed and you have lots more room to do things on your own but this is perfect as a start. I think the story mode is the only thing worth it as theres not much fun in having infinite spending on a game where it means nothing. Get to grinding at your new pc repair job.
PC Building Simulator – A Deep Dive into the World of PC Construction
Playtime: 25+ hours
Recommended? Yes! 🛠️
What I Liked:
- Extensive Library of Real-World Components: The game features a vast selection of components from well-known manufacturers like ASUS, Corsair, MSI, and EVGA. This adds an element of realism to the experience as you get to build PCs using actual products you can buy in real life, making it ideal for both enthusiasts and beginners learning about different brands and hardware options.
- Authentic PC Building Process: The step-by-step process of assembling a computer in the game mimics real-life PC building. You install the motherboard, add the CPU, apply thermal paste, plug in power supplies, and more. This makes it both educational and highly satisfying for those who want to familiarize themselves with the actual process before tackling a real-world build.
- Career Mode and Customer Requests: The game’s career mode is surprisingly engaging. You start a small PC repair and upgrade shop and take on jobs from clients who need anything from simple virus removal to full system overhauls. It’s fun to build PCs to specific customer requests and see their satisfaction (or frustration) with the results!
- Cable Management and Cooling Solutions: You can practice perfecting one of the trickiest aspects of building a PC: clean cable management. On top of that, you have the option to experiment with different cooling solutions, such as air cooling and liquid cooling systems, which is a great way to understand how cooling affects performance.
- Customizable Builds for Various Needs: Whether you’re building a high-performance gaming rig, a workstation for video editing, or a budget-friendly office PC, the game allows for a wide variety of builds. You can play around with overclocking and fine-tuning each PC to meet the performance requirements of the job.
- Realistic Problem Solving: Sometimes the PCs you’re working on won’t boot up, or you’ll have to troubleshoot issues like overheating or component failure. The game forces you to think critically, just as you would when encountering real-world PC problems, which is a great learning experience for those looking to improve their diagnostic skills.
- Overclocking Mechanics: The game provides you with the tools to experiment with overclocking, letting you push components beyond their stock speeds. It's a fun and educational way to learn how overclocking works without risking your own hardware.
- Graphics and Visual Presentation: The clean, realistic graphics make it easy to identify and interact with parts. The 3D models of components are detailed and accurate, adding to the immersive nature of the game.
- VR Ready Mode (for VR Edition): If you opt for the VR edition, you get an even more immersive experience, where you physically interact with components using motion controls. This adds a whole new level of engagement, making the building process feel more hands-on.
- Constant Updates and New Content: The developers regularly update the game with new components and features, keeping it fresh. This is important for a simulator where staying current with new hardware releases is key to maintaining realism.
- Educational Value for Beginners: This game is an excellent way for beginners to learn the ropes of PC building. It breaks down the entire process into manageable steps and teaches players how to safely install components, troubleshoot issues, and configure settings, all in a risk-free environment.
- Custom Workshop and Personalization: The game allows you to customize your workshop to make it feel more like your own space. You can also create and customize PCs with specific paint jobs and LED lighting, making the aesthetic design as important as the performance.
What I Disliked:
- Repetitive Tasks in Career Mode: While the career mode is fun at first, it does become repetitive over time. After a while, many customer requests feel very similar, such as repeated requests for virus removal or simple upgrades. More variety in the types of tasks and challenges would have been a nice addition.
- Limited Advanced Features for Enthusiasts: Although the game does a great job for beginners, experienced builders may find the lack of depth in some areas a bit disappointing. For example, more advanced water-cooling loops, complex cable routing, or more detailed software diagnostics could make the game more appealing for hardcore enthusiasts.
- No Multiplayer or Competitive Mode: It would be interesting to see a multiplayer mode where players can compete to build the best-performing or most aesthetically pleasing PC. Co-op building with friends or timed challenges would add a new dynamic to the experience.
- Lack of Software Complexity: While you can install operating systems and run benchmarks, the software side of things feels pretty basic. A more in-depth look at things like BIOS tweaking or diagnosing more complex software issues could add another layer of realism to the game.
- Slow Progression in Career Mode: Earning money to upgrade your workshop or buy better parts can feel slow, especially in the early game. It would be great if there were more ways to accelerate progress, such as taking on bigger jobs sooner.
[*] Limited Post-Build Features: Once you’ve built and booted up a PC, there’s not much you can do with it beyond testing and running benchmarks. It would be fun if you could use the PCs you build for in-game tasks or mini-games, making the final product feel more interactive.
Final Thoughts:
PC Building Simulator is a fantastic educational tool for anyone interested in learning how to build, repair, or upgrade PCs. Its realistic approach to assembling systems using real-world components makes it a valuable resource for both beginners and seasoned enthusiasts. While it can get a bit repetitive in career mode and lacks some of the depth that experienced builders might crave, it offers a solid, enjoyable experience overall. If you want to gain confidence in building PCs or simply have fun creating custom rigs without the cost or risk, this game is well worth your time.

I love simulators and tinkering with PC's so I may be a little biased but this is one of the best I have ever played. Love it!!
Super fun game especially if you have any experience with building PCs. Even if you don't, you can easily learn what's needed by following the tutorials. Love all of the variety that comes with the various expansions.
bruh building or fixing pc in this game is harder than real life....
but fun to play without worrying that you will fuck up the pc :p
Good and relaxing simulator game. Shame the 2nd one is only on epic games, still a good purchase, just don't get the E-sports DLC
"PC Building Simulator is a wild ride into the chaotic guts of tech, where silicon dreams meet the hard edge of reality. A digital toolkit for maniacs chasing that perfect rig. Pure, uncut hardware euphoria!"
Fun game, def worth it on sale, just annoying when some bug that doesn't allow me to remove a PC part prevents me from progressing further into the game.
I LOVE this game it's super realistic very good graphics i have only 8GBs of ram and a intel CPU irl idk what graphics card and its turning me into my dad lol but overall 10/10 it is second place for best games on my library thank you SOOO much devs for putting in the dedication and time to make this game you made it one of a kind. thank you

I want to do this professionally one day.
Not only is this a good teaching point, the parts available in the base game alone are so varied that you really can't have the same two builds unless you really try. And that's not all either: the genuine problems that you have to face in the game are very much real world scenarios that can happen with PCs, and since I have experience behind PC management I've been able to plow through those problems with ease.
1000% get it if your passionate about PCs. It's so good.
