This VN really took me on a epic trek.
Loved the story, with its different working components, the concept, and the depth of the interactive functions.
There may be images, as the options menus provide an activation button, my computer didnt respond.
Half way through the game, I understood more what the 'Stats' menu was about, and, when finished, played thru a second time, to see how high i could get my percentages, and to see where the other choices will take me.
The only critique would be about the inability to have save points.
While the auto save is more efficient, from the perspective of the reader, we are taken directly to the story, where left off.
IMO, the downside is, if wanting to explore different endings & outcomes from trying out new actions, quite a lot of dialogue wd have to be skipped thru.
The dialogue/ action options are semi frequent and have a choice of 3 or 4 decisions, which is great in a 'choose ur path' VN , with the exception of wanting to discover the other story arcs, without save points, and the pureness of directing a story without the 'redo' ability is refreshing.
This story, imho, however, is worthy of throwing caution to the wind.
Thumbs up to the Author.
Thank-you for this experience.
I can't recommend this. It's incredibly short (Yes it only took me 64 minutes), has no actual choices that impact the ending, and the other characters are never actually touched.
I haven't been this... apathetic for a while. Going to ask for a refund.
The primary grievance I have with this game is during some of the trials others are always given unfair advantages even if you did everything right. And sometimes (maybe due to scripting errors), you don't receive the rewards you are promised at all! Also the male romance options are less than female ones and they are not attractive both in personalities and appearances, that is so unacceptable considering the LGBT and gender equility policies Choice of Games and Hosted Games always seem to advocate in their game descriptions.
The trials were kinda good but there was almost no interaction between your character and the rest of the chosen ones. At times I thought they were going to give us some kind of respite between the trials to get to know the others but that break never came. I'm sad to say that it disappointed me to no end. The idea had a lot of potential.
No. You waste time going through a bunch of pointless mediocre 'trials' with superficial cosmetic choices to give you the illusion of choice, but really lead you to the same ending circumstances with minor variations. In the end, everyone is still a winner. From slaying cylops to empowering rebellion, to throwing parties, to stealing from vaults, none of it actually had any significance in the end as the spheres of influence you and your fellows could possibly become differed from the task you're forced to run making them pointless rat races/busy work. And don't get me started on the 'romances'. There might as well to not have been any romance in here to begin with. You spend one afternoon with someone you pick from a multiple choice list and any further hint of your 'romance' with this individual is given as a small side note in the ending epilogue that they hold a special place in your heart. Hell with this drivel, I want my 2 dollars back.
It was really great to not play to become a hero, or a king/queen, but to uptain godhood. The story was capitvating and it was nice to see your choices really mattered and had an inpact on the story. Your choices really matter as it can determine what kind of god you will become.
The text is easy to read and udnerstand, there is a nice balance between the length of the text and language. Not to mention all your choices that keeps you engaged and on your toes.
I can reccomend this game greatly, i really enjoyed it and i hope you will too!
The best of the god-oriented games from Choice of Games or Hosted Games, hands down. Rather less like classical Greek myth than I expected, it captured the feel of many of the tales without the less pleasant bits. (Presumably, most players do not want to see their character turned into a spider for irritating a deity, for example.) If you are interested in a text adventure where your character tries out to join a pantheon, this is the game for you.
