I. A Tapestry of Tales: Narrative Mastery
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not merely a game; it is a living chronicle where every choice reverberates through a world teetering on the edge of chaos. The story of Geralt of Rivia, a grizzled monster hunter navigating political intrigue, fractured loyalties, and existential threats, unfolds with Shakespearean gravity. The central quest to find his adoptive daughter, Ciri, intertwines with morally ambiguous subplots—such as the haunting saga of the Bloody Baron, whose tragic duality between tyranny and redemption remains one of gaming’s most profound character studies. Even minor side quests, like uncovering the secrets of a cursed village or mediating a peasant’s feud, are imbued with emotional weight, ensuring no thread in this vast tapestry feels inconsequential.
...
II. A World Alive: The Art of Immersion
From the rain-soaked alleys of Novigrad to the sun-dappled vineyards of Toussaint, The Witcher 3 crafts a realm that breathes. Its open world eschews hollow expanses for dense, purposeful design—a crumbling fortress might hide a monster’s lair, while a roadside shrine whispers forgotten lore. The game’s “sense of place” is amplified by dynamic weather, day-night cycles, and NPC routines, creating an ecosystem where even a stray wolf’s howl feels intentional. The recent next-gen update, with ray-traced lighting and DLSS 3, elevates this beauty into a painterly vision, where fog-cloaked forests and candlelit taverns become scenes from a medieval illuminated manuscript.
...
III. Combat and Alchemy: The Dance of Steel and Sorcery
Geralt’s combat is a ballet of preparation and precision. Each encounter demands strategy: oils to weaken foes, signs to control the battlefield, and dodges timed to the millisecond. While the system lacks the fluidity of pure action games, its depth lies in asymmetry—a Griffin’s aerial dive feels distinct from a Drowner’s swamp-bound ambush. Alchemy, often a tedious chore in RPGs, here becomes a ritual of survival, as brewing potions under moonlight or decocting toxins from rare herbs ties gameplay to the world’s gritty authenticity.
...
IV. The Symphony of War and Whispers
Few games marry audio and visual storytelling as seamlessly. The score, a haunting blend of Slavic folk motifs and orchestral grandeur, swells during battles and fades into melancholic lute strains in quieter moments. Voice acting, particularly Doug Cockle’s gravelly portrayal of Geralt, anchors the drama, while ambient sounds—a blacksmith’s hammer, a tavern’s drunken chorus—layer immersion like brushstrokes on a canvas.
...
Amidst the wild hunt’s shadowed cry,
A witcher walks, where ravens fly.
Through blood and wine, through love’s sharp thorn,
A tale of hearts, both forged and torn.
The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt
"The song of blood, steel and decisions, that hurt more than an edge of a blade"
My rating: 9.5/10
🧙♂️ OVERALL IMPRESSION:
So, to start, this game was lying in my library for 4 years. Then I started and could not stop until I finished EVERYTHING the game will offer you. It is one of the best RPG games - a massive world that feels welcoming and easy to understand, a great story, and a fabulous atmosphere - this is my review of Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt (+ DLCs).
🎮 GAMEPLAY:
The combat system is unique, and it took me some time to get used to it. Once you do, you are a killing machine. Don't forget about runes you can cast, potions you can drink, food you can eat, tinctures you can craft, and your deadly two swords. Crafting feels nice after understanding it. Exploration feels fluent and rewarding. You have a feeling there is so much to do in any direction you move, but it doesn't feel overwhelming, which is a big plus. The only thing I wanna mention here is a healing mechanism. If you don't have DLC, you are missing some crucial skills to get in the early game. That can cost you a lot of nerves, playing on higher difficulties.
🎨 GRAPHICS:
This game was released in 2015, and it looks way better than some modern triple-A games. Its stunning colour palette is vivid and lively. It's very well made according to the mood and atmosphere of a game. It's gloomy when you are in a dark cave killing monsters and bright when you are with your friends drinking beers in Kaer Morhen.
📖 STORY AND ATMOSPHERE:
The story unfolds after the events of "The Witcher" book series, continuing the tale from "The Witcher 2" video game. It's masterfully written, with a main questline that feels both monumental and deeply immersive. The characters are richly developed, and forming a strong emotional connection with them comes naturally and quickly. Sidequests are another thing that makes this game stand out so much. They are not repetitive and give you an incredible feeling of the fantasy world, its people, nature, creatures and atmosphere. Lastly, the music is majestic, outstanding, atmospheric and mesmerizing. Indeed, a masterpiece.
✨ YES / NO:
I wholeheartedly recommend it, but take my advice: Do not make the same mistake I did by playing the first half of the game without the "Blood and Wine" DLC. Get it because it's absolutely stunning. It also unlocks essential skills that make a significant difference in the early stages.
🗡️ ACHIEVEMENTS:
If you're an achievement hunter like me, you'll need both DLCs. All of the achievements can be unlocked in a single playthrough, but many are missable, so either prepare for a few extra runs or consult a guide.
⏱️PLAYTIME:
Main game: 78 hours (normal difficulty + side quests)
Main + DLCs: 110 hours
100% completion: 122 hours + one additional NG+ playthrough on highest difficulty
played it when it released and thought it wasnt for me. wtf was i thinking, i was missing out...
First time, playing this kind of game. Little bit of scared at first, but i really enjoy this game. Btw, Yen is so pretty :)))
After finishing every possible choices in this game, every other game seems bad compared to the witcher 3, a seriously great story rich gameplay, not just the story quests, even side quests and random quests!
Incredible game, rich story and world to explore, quite a few builds to try out, everything a RPG should have. Geralt is a good lad.
One of the best rpg experiences I've ever had. I've been playing since the ps5 version and this game has really grown on me. Definitely an incredible atmosphere, characters, an amazing ost, but above all, GWENT
After hitting 100% completion in The Witcher 3, I honestly feel like I’ve finished a journey, not just a game. I’ve done every quest, explored every corner, beat both expansions, and yeah—even finished my Gwent deck. It’s wild how much this game pulled me in.
What stood out the most was the storytelling. The characters felt real—Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, even smaller side characters had depth. Every choice I made actually mattered, and I found myself thinking about the consequences long after I’d made them. Some outcomes hit hard, in a good way.
The world is massive, but it’s also full of detail. It’s not just big for the sake of it—there’s something meaningful almost everywhere you go. I’d get sidetracked constantly, and I didn’t even mind. Riding through Skellige or watching the rain in Velen felt peaceful sometimes, like the game gave me space to just be in its world.
The expansions were another level. Hearts of Stone had one of the best villains I’ve ever seen, and Blood and Wine felt like a whole new game on its own. I took my time there just soaking it all in.
Combat took a bit to get used to, but once I got into a rhythm—mixing signs, potions, dodging right—it felt great. I wasn’t just swinging a sword, I was preparing for fights, thinking like a Witcher,
Honestly, finishing everything felt like closing a great book. It’s rare a game sticks with me like this. If anyone’s wondering whether it’s worth fully diving into The Witcher 3, I’d say absolutely. It’s more than worth your time. :)
Don't get me wrong the game is amazing. At this point I think everyone knows that. But jesus christ how many bugs there are
Recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (187+ hours played)
If there’s one game that defines what an open-world RPG should be, it’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. After 187 hours, I can say with confidence—this game is a masterpiece.
✅ Pros:
Unmatched storytelling. Every quest, even side quests, feels meaningful and well-written.
A breathtaking world. From the war-torn lands of Velen to the bustling streets of Novigrad, everything is stunning and full of life.
Geralt is an amazing protagonist. A badass monster hunter with depth, wit, and choices that actually matter.
Combat is satisfying. Once you get the hang of dodging, signs, and potions, every fight feels like a strategic duel.
DLCs are better than most full games. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine add incredible content and a perfect ending to Geralt’s story.
Gwent. What started as a simple card game in a tavern became an obsession.
❌ Cons:
Controls can feel clunky at times. Geralt has a mind of his own when trying to navigate tight spaces.
The inventory system could be better. Sorting through gear can be a bit tedious.
You might lose your real-life social life. Seriously, this game sucks you in.
After 187 hours, I still want more. The Witcher 3 is one of those rare games that delivers an unforgettable journey. If you haven't played it yet, you owe it to yourself to experience it.
⭐ 10/10 - Toss a coin to your Witcher, and another 100 hours to your playtime.
Best game I've ever played the story is Amazing.
And the graphics are so good for a game from 2015!
Looking forward to the witcher 4
I really really hate autolock in game. After playing DS 1 to 3 and Elden ring autolock in Witcher is so bad. I stopped using it but still Geralt turns to nearby enemy when i just want to run past them. And casting signs..... gl. But other than that i think game is pretty solid.
why?
-masterpiece of a game: dating-hunting-singlefather simulator with slavic european mythology on top.
-WILL improve your taste in men
-WILL make you finally read books
-PROBABLY will make you a better person or otherwise (because of how much game force you to question yourself)
DONT QUIT IF IN SOME POINT IT SEEMS BORING YOU MISSING OUT A GREAT STORY
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will always be in my top 5 games to play. I am replaying it for the first time in more then 7 years, and the game looks great. It is hard to believe that this game came out in 2015! It looks and performs better then most 2025 games that are currently coming out. The story is so engaging, it keeps you coming back for more. Looking forward to playing through the DLCs this time! Getting in my refresher before The Witcher 4 comes out.
If you have never played TW3, and you are reading this in 2025 or later, I highly recommend getting this game and playing it through, you will not regret it!
After ten years of development, this game still has something to say and is equal in many areas and parameters of game development that we have seen in this genre of games in recent years, and it is one of the best games in this genre and has its own fans. I am very eager for the fourth series of this series to have fun and adventure in the world of the Witcher.
زیر نویس بازی را از گیم ساب خریداری کنید و از این بازی لذت ببرید
Its excellent, one of the only games where DLC works really well and deserves the extra money. Almost 10yrs later, game still runs well and looks great. Gaben should send a citation to people that haven't played this yet.
I love this game so bad!!!!!!!!! The story, characters, music, and environment are everything I've ever wanted I love u the Witcher 3 this is my favorite game ever ^_^
I played this game for the first time on my friend`s laptop, then I bought a PC and played it there, then I`ve got Steam and started it here, then I tried it on PS4... and every time it is still entertaining and feels great.
I really love the storytelling, designs, characters and atmosphere overall.
Definitely this game is GOAT.
The game that has become the laurel wreath that crowned the gaming industry is not just entertainment, but a whole cultural phenomenon. It is like a symphony, where every instrument, every note, be it visual style, exciting plot or innovative gameplay, merge into a single harmonious whole. It is a work of art that has touched the hearts of millions, leaving an indelible mark on the history of the gaming industry. The success of this game is not an accident, but a natural result of painstaking work and talent. This is a game that will live in the memory of millions for a long time.
Just finished the game again on NG+ and finally unlocked all achievements. What a truly beautiful game.
Beautiful game especially after the update , the combat system feels a bit like Dark Souls if you play it on hard difficulties . The main story is amazing ,enemies are well leveled and per total game design and placement 10/10
incredible game I have bought this masterpiece four or five times across different platforms and never get tired of playing it You can easily spend over two hundred hours in this beautiful world and still find something new every time If you have not tried it yet whether you are an RPG fan or not you absolutely should This game holds a special place in my heart and always will
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — A Love Letter After 100% Completion
"Evil is evil. Lesser, greater, middling... makes no difference."
But this game? It’s greatness. Plain and simple.
I’ve played a lot of games. Some stick for a while. Others leave.
But The Witcher 3? It stays. It lingers. Like a scent of lilac and gooseberries in a world that forgot how to smell.
Death March is Not Just a Challenge — It’s a Philosophy
If you enter Death March expecting to button-mash, you're already dead.
This is a game that demands preparation. Every fight is a contract, and every monster a puzzle.
The Bestiary isn’t just lore — it’s your survival manual.
Reading up before a fight, coating your blade with the right oil, choosing the proper sign — this is what makes you a Witcher.
A real one. Not just some dude with two swords.
The Bloody Baron: Where Side Quests Outshine Main Stories
This quest broke me.
No villains. No heroes. Just people.
It starts with a drunken brute and ends in tragedy, sorrow, and that deep, uncomfortable place where morality gets blurred.
This isn't a side quest. This is the benchmark for narrative design in gaming.
When a game makes you question your choices long after the credits roll, you know it’s something special.
Triss vs Yennefer — The Veteran’s Choice
If you’ve read the books, you know.
Triss may be sweet, but she lied to Geralt. Took advantage of him during his amnesia.
Yennefer? She’s stormy, complicated, volatile — but she’s real. She’s destiny. She’s the one who would burn kingdoms to save Ciri.
This isn’t a dating sim. This is his story. And choosing Yen just feels right.
(Also, that Djinn quest? Pure magic.)
Combat That Respects Your Intelligence
The Witcher 3 isn’t Dark Souls — but it respects the same rules:
- If you fail, it’s on you.
- You didn’t prepare.
- You didn’t read.
- You didn’t think like a Witcher.
Start treating each fight like a hunt instead of a brawl, and the game transforms.
Gwent — A Side Activity That Becomes a Lifestyle
What starts as a simple tavern minigame becomes a full-blown addiction.
You’ll chase rare cards across continents, defeat legendary players, and build a deck more dangerous than most final bosses.
Gwent isn’t just a diversion — it’s its own game with depth and brilliance.
DLCs That Put AAA Expansions to Shame
Hearts of Stone
A tale of deals with devils, riddles, reflections, and unforgettable villains.
Gaunter O’Dimm isn’t loud — he whispers. He lingers. He haunts you.
Blood and Wine
The perfect epilogue.
Toussaint is a painting — beautiful, yet hiding something dark beneath.
It’s not just more Witcher. It’s the ending Geralt deserved.
(*Pro tip:* Don’t play these on Death March unless you really, really hate yourself. Enjoy them. You’ve earned it.)
Final Thoughts
The Witcher 3 isn’t just a masterpiece. It’s the standard.
A world of monsters and men, of love and destiny, of choices that never feel clean.
Once it ends, you don’t walk away.
You leave a piece of yourself behind — in the swamps of Velen, the streets of Novigrad, the peaks of Skellige, and the golden sunsets of Toussaint.
Bought it for the monsters. Stayed for the heartbreak. 10/10.
Imagine a game so good that even people who don’t like RPGs end up playing it for 100+ hours. That’s The Witcher 3.
You play as Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer, part-time detective, and full-time magnet for every trouble in the world. Your main goal? Find your adopted daughter before a supernatural death squad catches her. But let’s be real—you’ll probably spend half the game playing Gwent, hunting treasure, and getting into morally questionable situations with sorceresses.
The world of The Witcher 3 isn’t just big—it’s alive. Every village, swamp, and ruined castle has a story. One moment you’re helping a peasant find his missing goat, and the next you’re unraveling a centuries-old curse that makes you question your life choices. Every quest, even the side ones, feels like it belongs in a novel rather than a checklist.
Combat? Smooth and satisfying. You’ll be dodging, parrying, and using magic like a medieval Jedi. One second you’re gracefully cutting down bandits, the next you’re getting bodied by a pack of wolves because you underestimated them.
The characters? Unforgettable. Geralt himself is the perfect mix of badass and sarcastic, and the supporting cast—from the lovable bard Dandelion to the terrifyingly powerful Yennefer—is some of the best in gaming. Even the random merchant on the side of the road probably has a tragic backstory.
The soundtrack? Pure magic. The visuals? Stunning, even years later. The choices? Oh, they matter. One wrong decision, and suddenly a whole village is on fire, or some poor guy is cursed forever.
At the end of the day, The Witcher 3 isn’t just a game—it’s an experience. You don’t just play it, you live in it.
10/10. Would spend another 200 hours getting distracted from the main quest.
Epic story, engaging gameplay and interesting characters. A true Masterpiece.
The world and story are very engaging and immersive. I'd recommend to anyone who likes cyberpunk. Even though the worlds are very different both have that CD Project Red feel to them.
The setting and role playing elements are so cool but I fucking hate the combat/movement/camera system and some of the puzzles in this game. Wayfinding is often nonsensical and hinting if you're stuck from companion NPCs is non-existent.
This game is truly a masterpiece. Witcher 3 was one of my best gaming experiences, and I can't even explain how much I loved it. Thank you, CD Projekt Red, for this masterpiece!!
This is easily one of the greatest games ever made. Yes there are flaws but very very few. The replay value is amazing.
There is so much to do and the story is incredible and moving at times. If you enjoy RPGs or if you enjoy a great story this is the game to play. If you have not played it by now do yourself a favor and play as it is on of the must play games in the history of gaming.
Very addictive card game with some RPG elements on the side.
10/10
i am posting this review at what Steam says is 32 hours, but in reality it's more like 400+ across only two playthroughs. i first played The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch in 2020 (i know, i know, but i didn't have a gaming PC until recently!) and even with the downscaled graphics and reduced like... everything... of that port, i was obsessed. it has everything i have come to want in a video game: open-world exploration, soooo many sidequests, loads of things to find and collect, meaningful interactions, and even ✨fashion✨ (you cannot tell me Geralt isn't stylin' sometimes).
anyway, i recently acquired a proper gaming PC and purchased TW3 for the second time to start a new playthrough with a few cosmetic and QOL mods and i think it's safe to say that even for a now 10-year-old game, it still has what it takes to be enjoyable. i am also feverishly looking forward to the fourth installment in the series and am beyond excited to take on the world of Witchers from the perspective of Ciri.
all this to say, if you, somehow, like me, are always very late to playing the video games that everyone else was excited about playing 9 years ago, and you haven't played this game yet, Do It. this world is is worth every penny.
a game that stung the rpg genre, an amazing and exciting story that is interesting to follow (like a movie to watch), a combat that is easy and at the same time interesting, then just developing of the characters and changing their emotions to according to the events, what I really like about the witcher is that there is a goal in the game that seems like it will be fulfilled quickly but the game always says "it's not over go there", a huge map with too many things to explore, too many types of monsters to kill, and not to talk about the music itself, this game is known for many famous and good soundtracks, then the dlcs, which are amazing (especially blood and wine), seem like a continuation of the original story, even if they have no connection. Definitely a game that marked its genre and definitely a game worth buying and playing. 10/10
The Witcher 3 is an absolute classic, and it’s not just nostalgia talking. The world, the story, the characters—everything still holds up after all these years. And if you’re playing in Polish? Pure perfection. The voice acting, especially Geralt’s, adds a level of authenticity that no other language can match.
It’s the crown jewel of CD Projekt Red, proving that Polish studios can create RPGs that stand toe-to-toe with the best in the world. If for some reason you haven’t played it yet—seriously, what are you doing? Go fix that mistake.
The Witcher 3 is a rare gem in the world of gaming. It masterfully combines deep narrative, compelling gameplay, and a beautiful open world. With countless hours of content, including the brilliant expansions "Hearts of Stone" and "Blood and Wine," it offers an unparalleled experience that no RPG fan should miss. If you haven’t played it yet, do yourself a favor and dive in. The world of Geralt of Rivia awaits.
Witcher 3 is truly one of the best games I've ever played. As a single-player, I highly recommend giving it a try. Even though I never played Witcher 1 and 2, I quite enjoyed the story in this game. The game's story is rich and immersive, filled with compelling moments, including captivating romance scenes. It's undoubtedly one of the greatest RPGs ever made.
oh my god what an game jus love the story it feels like an complete netflix series with everithing in it it was an movie like experience the game was very enjoyable to me like i have never had an experience like this the make some time makes you feel really exited for what will happen next and i loved the ending it is one of the best choices based game it totally depends on your choices i was an roller coster experience if you want an great game for cheap this is the best game ever :)
One of the peak storytelling experiences of gaming, beautiful, rich and well optimised.
I really love the game! Everything feels and looks incredibly realistic. The graphics and immersion improve even more with some mods, like Henry Cavill's face mod. Definitely a 10/10! :)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a legendary game that sets the standard for storytelling, world-building, and player choice. With unforgettable characters, thrilling combat, and a breathtaking open world, it’s an experience that every RPG fan must play. 10/10.
Well, the pure masterpiece of RPGs. Actually spent over 100h in it.
Story 20/10
Graphics 10/10
Mechanics 10/10
Music 20/10
It is a must-have game with both DLCs.
Every character on the side of the road feels like it's a main character due to its story. Probably the most "Alive" game.
Best game ever, your greatest adventure!
The attention to detail, the amount of masterful work, love and passion went into this game is insane.
You can clearly see that the devs enjoyed working on this.
Nothing barely comes close to this and I fear nothing will.
I am deeply saddened to think, "This is IT, we have reached peak gaming, there is nothing to look forward to".
I highly recommend this game. It took me a couple tries to get into, but once I got into the meat of the game I was hooked. The story is amazing and the writing is great throughout most of the game. The gameplay can also feel great, but can be clunky at times. If you haven't tried the game so far, I recommend it.
Nothing can make you feel like playing as Geralt Of Rivia!
Intense battles, amazing story-telling, GWENT the best in-game card game of the world.
Badass armors, weapons, characters.
100% would play again and again and again!
This may very well be the greatest game that has ever been made. I am 52 hours in and have only scratched the surface of this breathtaking world. The main story has been so eloquently crafted and done. I'm no where near the end of the main quest line, because the side quests are just as engaging. I literally can't stop playing this game, it is perfect in every regard. It looks better than 99% of the games being released today, and it's story is unmatched and incomparable to any other game. I cannot recommend this game enough. This game has legit taken a hold of me in a way that no other video game ever has. Play this game and it will quite literally change your life.
Masterpiece. Just perfect.

There is no better game.
I am Polish, and bc of this, this will have some bias.
I played this game with all the dlc's and a special launcher, the game was able to make me cry on multiple occassions, additionally the gameplay and how beautifull CD PROJECT RED made this game is impossible.
The fighting beetwen both monsters and humans seems immaculate, the tens of builds u can do in this game under the mechanics is awesome, the DLC's are expansion packs that give u multiple hours of gameplay, i have played this game for over 300 hours and i do not wish for it to be any longer, i didnt 100% it at all, there is a lot of endings and one of them makes u both extremelly sad at the start, and very happy at the end.
The decisions u make along ur journey affects the best characters ever written, Geralt himself is a protagonist u would never expect to see urself in, but the game devs made it possible to humanize Geralt even tho he is a witcher.
the easter eggs, music and songs, quests, size of maps, how beautifull the land is and ofc the voiceacting is the best i ever saw, i highly reccomend putting on English subtitles and Polish voice-acting.
The witcher 3 isnt just a game, its a story with the best endings and even better gameplay, i would love to have amnesia to play this game again and get all of the secrets.
as of writing this review, i am crying, this game shouldnt be possible, but it somehow makes u feel like u are reading the best book ever.

Amazing game. Took some questionable path to finish the game, therefore I didn't really complete all the quests thereby rushing it. My main gripe with the game is the main story line which is okay although not spectacular by any means, I did enjoy the DLCs more. The open world is amazing, the crafting is very creative, love the skill tree but it's overdone. In terms of graphics, I liked it a lot. The Toad King was my favourite boss to beat.
I have tried to play this game 3 times on the easiest difficulty, the medium difficulty & the hardest difficulty. I want to love this game like so many other people do, but I can't. I play all types of RPGs, old & new, I love JRPGs like OMORI, UNDERTALE & Mother, I love CRPGs like Morrowind, I love ARPGs like Dark Souls & Elden Ring; but I simply cannot enjoy the Witcher 3.
I find the world fascinating, but the combat floaty & frustrating. I find the map pretty, but trekking across it a chore, & any form of exploration beyond quest markers is incredibly boring; the open world feels tacked on. I find the story (some of) the quests tell quite interesting, but the design of the quests unoriginal & boring. I want to care about Ciri, but I really don't.
Ultimately, this game cannot keep me engaged, & I genuinely cannot comprehend why people think this game is so incredible. Don't get me wrong, I can understand liking this game, but the idea that this is some sort of game of a decade or game of all time boggles my mind. It feels like a hyper-polished Ubisoft game transposed onto the legitimately cool world of something else.
The only thing I have to say is that I've purchased this game on practically every platform bar the Switch (I'm not *that* much of a masochist), and any time this game is on sale, I always recommend to friends and family. It's a staple at this point and I pretty much guarantee there's something about it that will appeal to everyone.
Best of all, you don't have to have read the books or play any of the previous titles to be able to enjoy this, the game is that accessible. Despite it being the 3rd installment, it's still a great entry point into the Witcher franchise.
Also, Yen is best girl, fight me.
