Oddly satisfying masochistic platformer with some good synthwave ost and cryptic puzzles. Main challenge is understanding how non-intuitive platforming physics works. After you get hint of how moving platforms conserve your momentum after jumps and how you move faster diagonally it becomes not that challenging as it seems at first glance. Checkpoints save you only while game is open, when you restart the game you have to go through level from the start. It really can be completed in 4-5 hours, the main time waster is an absence of quick saves.
Don't buy it. Its garbage.
Kinda confusing, but I like it
honestly i was looking forward to an enjoyable tron like game but with this i got a puzzle game that
-resets u way to often
-has a static 3 second respawn screen(which is way too long) (also the static destroys my ears and no way to turn down)
-has horrible motion sickness inducing running(side to side)
-platforms are impossible to land on because of how you have to time it and can only use double jump in same direction and speed that u were going before so pretty useless
- honestly fix all this(which is way too mush) and i'll consider re-purchasing the game but until then this game isnt even worth my $3
1.5/10 worst game ever
(liked the music tho)
This game has plenty potential in it's setting and core gameplay.
The game is that of a rage-platformer, and can last quite awhile while being very difficult (on my end at least)
[Pro's]
*Great soundtrack- i loved the first level soundtrack, and the other levels were just as good
*Game has BEAUTIFUL visuals, and rarely has Fps drop unless starting a mission.
*simple understanding of what to do, and tutorials are not at all annoying and if anything they can be avoided!
[Cons]
*touching a death barrier is so sudden that it can almost be a jump scare, as i myself have jumped from the sudden fuzzy tv death screen
*Certain jumps you don't make feel very unfair at times, and sometimes increase the annoyance the game makes
*Very small QOL (quality of life) changes would greatly help the game and make it seem much more enjoyable
[Suggestions}
*Player checkpoints- Game checkpoints are very spaced out and can often ruin the player's motivation to push on.
*Better momentum handling- Often when in air of a jump you can glide much too far and completely miss a jump.
[My Conclusion]
For a game made by what seems one guy, this is very impressive! i'm eager to see if this game would be updated more and get better recognized for it's core gameplay. It may not be the most perfect game, but for a game less than 5$ that's beyond your money's worth. So if you're interested in a medium sized platformer game, look no further than the DEEPWEB
A neat but hard puzzle/platformer Where your trying to escape an AI who's taken you prisoner in a tron like world, you'll likely die a'lot trying to beat courses but once you get the hang of jumping, timing, and solving the tricky puzzles you'll come out on top (until the next level) >:). The levels runs suprisingly smooth on good graphics for me on ultra. The few issues thou are "spoilers up ahead" at the first level spawn area the glass platforms don't respawn and they lead to the answer to the first puzzle forcing a restart, in one level the cubes can get stuck to the walls and fall in deadly pools forcing the player to restart (thankfully its at a checkpoint), and there's a moving death field under a button in the ceiling that you have to press under a moving jump pad in the start of level 8 that is almost impossible to get past even if you slow it down ("almost" impossible because i did get past it once(oops, seems there's a trick to doing and i was doing it wrong the whole time)). I've finally beaten the game and it was a nice journey, if your looking for a challenge this could be it good luck.
9/10 would play again
The controls are crippling. This game requires a bit of precision but I found out that no air straifing exists. This makes platforming frustrating. Also, no way to remap buttons. I use an XInput controller (XBox 360 or Xbox One controller) and I find it hard on the fingers to run by holding a shoulder button. It should be one of the trigger buttons or like old school Mario games like Super Mario World. That would pair up nicely with the jump button.
Head bobbing can be nauseating for those prone to motion sickness (I'm not but I can see it happening). There should be a way to turn that off.
I skipped the opening cinematic and no way to make it reappear.
Unreal Engine 4 game. Smooth on a GeForce GTX 1050.Music has a nod to Eye of the Tiger reference, which is cliche in not just games, but movies and TV too.Couldn't stand this game for more than 20 minutes. Refunded.
On a whim checking for something to pass the time during the day I searched for puzzle platformers. Found DeepWeb and it tickles my fancy quite well. The platforming is tight and the glass platforms are just this side of frustrating! I'm still on level 1 but I see myself playing through the end of the game. The sound track has that hypnotic feel similar to playing Hotline Miami which is the kind of feeling I was wanting today.
As a bonus this works well on low quality settings for a laptop with Intel HD graphics so thats a major selling point for me. I feel like I can't rave enough about the game. Also excited to run it on my main rig and notch up to Ultra.
A great Indie game with exellent graphics and a decent price, it's a short game that you'll complete in a weekend. But there are just some rage-inducing flaws in this game. Overall, one of the most difficult games I've ever played. There are no custom saves at all. If you die, you fucking die. You either restart from the beginning of the level or the level's checkpoint. Also, If you quit the level halfway through, you have to restart the enite level. A good and solid game. 7/10
I enjoyed 98% of this game. The graphics and aesthetic are great. It really has a sci-fi feeling to it. The music is also top notch with my favorite track being from level 4. I don't really have a problem with the controls at all, and the platforming in this game can be challenging, but not unbearable.
I found I was able to get through the seven or the eight levels in about two days playing it on and off. Then I got to level 8 and was completely stuck. A few days later a friend was able to point me in the right direction. This was the only time I was truly stuck and had I never figured out how to beat level 8, I would probably give this game a negative rating. But there is a solution; it is just difficult to understand.
My only real issue with the game is some of the solutions to the puzzles seem hard to figure out on your own. The majority of the puzzles can be solved via trial and error, since the clues don't really help. This doesn't stop you from progressing (except in my case of level 8).
All in all, I can't complain too much about this game since it is only $7. I totally feel it is worth $7, probably even more. The aesthetic and soundtrack really sell this game hard. To give it a score, I'd say 8/10 for me. Really enjoyed my playthrough of it.
