best game recommend <3<3
This is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. The colors are vibrant, the soundtrack is breathtaking, and the controls are simple enough to understand yet provide a fun challenge. The ending, especially, moved me to tears. I've played games that made me cry, but none of them made me cry happy tears like this game. I would play it again and again, as long as my voice doesn't give out from all the singing.
The game is wonderfully made, but the core selling point / mechanic of the game, the singing, was extremely tiring and quite demanding. If your voice wavered even a little bit, the indicator would go haywire and thus not fill the bar/circle/puzzle accurately and you spend way too many attempts trying to get it right. After 3 hours, my throat kinda hurts. I imagine for this game, you should only play one level at a time.
The sound design, graphics, platforming and NPCs draw you in easily, with the puzzles themselves being enjoyable, *if* you can get the indicator to cooperate. While there are reminders to adjust the range settings on the fly depending on the requirements, it feels as if the team did not playtest some of these puzzles with a layman who is not as good at holding a long note, or carrying a tune. As someone who only sings for fun, I had the most difficulty with the downward scales in the desert area, which *sounded* correct in real life but the bar would not pick it up, and I would fail the task multiple times.
Overall, I still did enjoy this puzzle game, but my strained vocal chords find it difficult to agree. Seeing as I got it for under a dollar, it was definitely worth the novel experience.
My throat hurts ..
It's an interesting concept, and I expected the audio gimic to be somewhat janky. Unfortunately, I didn't expect the fatal bugs to begin within the very first four minutes of the game on Steamdeck.
At the very first point with the boxes that are supposed to float when you sing, the boxes wouldn't float. I rebooted the game, recalibrated the mic, tried another save, and confirmed in YouTube walkthroughs that that was indeed what you're supposed to do. No dice. All the other elements like the lights, elevators, etc. worked OK, so it clearly wasn't an issue with the microphone system, but some sort of bug with the boxes in particular.
Very disappointing because it's a unique idea that I was excited to try out. Unfortunately, it's simply not playable. Fortunately, I found this out immediately and not after I had progressed further through the game, otherwise I'd be much more irritated.
Tone recognition just doesn't work.
I tried with two different headsets and a freestanding boom mic and the ingame indicator just jumps around wildly. Me singing has no discernible impact. To emphasize: it's not about good or bad singing, it just has no impact whatsoever. I've struggled through the first few levels and am now stuck at a flower sequence.
If you're not playing this in a room alone, be ready to draw some laughter from other people who might overhear you singing at the top of your lungs. That in combination with the platformer controls being a little tricky to master and interspersed swearing at the screen and you've a pretty good time waiting to happen. I've only played almost 30 minutes at the time of this review, and so far the game hasn't demanded that I hit certain notes, only that I sing whatever I like randomly. This game is almost impossible to play if you're trying to not draw any attention to yourself. I recommend it. I picked it up for under $1, but I also waited over 2 years for that price. From some of the other reviews my jury is still out to find out if the game has trouble when it becomes more demanding that you hit specific notes, so I'll have to reserve some judgment for now. Still, I think it's fun in any case. Nice twist.
A puzzle game that is so brain draining. A game that is so innovative, fun, but on the one hand it is also quite tiring. A game that should be intended for a singer or someone who has a perfect pitch. Otherwise, there will be a little difficulty in adjusting the vocal pitch.
DO RE MI FA SO LAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I messed up the boss levels because I was emotional and my voice broke.
10/10, beautiful game.
Okay, this is rather clever! It's really simple and you have flexibility to how you choose to vocalize. The boards are colorful and You can even make up silly songs as you try to find the right tone.
I loved this a little too much. Very cute
It had a hard time picking up my pitch because my voice is higher than usual and there is no custom calibration -but it was okay
It's good but it doesn't have a certain vocal range. I'm trying to sing along with it but the detector it just keep going up and down wrong like I sing high it goes low and I sing low it goes high.
took me a bit to figure out why my pitch wasn't matching, turns out it wasn't a game issue it was a microphone issue. if you happen to use nvidia broadcast for your mic, don't use it for this game, it'll mess with the pitch detection. once i figured that out i had a great time!! a lovely little game, well worth the price, and a beautiful theme.
I think One Hand Clapping is a great game and very fun to play, though there is one downside. The game doesn't seem to hear the notes i sing very well. At first i thought it because i had a bad microphone, but now, with a better one, it is still an issue. I can sing the exact note the game tells me to sing, and it just won't register.
It can be fixed by recalibrating, but i do have to do it often in order to actually progress.
But besides that issue, it's very fun. I love the art style of the game, and the different ways it teaches you how to sing. The music is also great and i love the characters. So overall i do recommend it!
Had a mental breakdown figuring out the puzzle and accidentally solved it while laughing hysterically
10/10 - would breakdown again
