As a sucker for pretty visuals in video games, i enjoy this game so much. Grande music arrangement matches the magical and intense vibes of the story. I also did not expect the gameplay would be that HARD but still fun, it takes accuracy and high concentration for me lol~ anyway great game, definitely will try to play the sequel: Ori and the Will of Wisps!
This game graphics is just insane, Really recomended
It's fun. The game is challenging but not too hard to play. I can never get bored of this game
Beautiful art, great music.
Simple and beautiful game. Not too difficult, but still challenging enough to be entertaining.
It was very fun, I am somewhat a beginner gamer, I developed a lot at gaming while playing and playing "blind" was very possible and made it a lot more fun so I recommend :)
Super fast :D Soundtrack is amazing too
this game is awesome but just buy the definitive edition
gorgeous game that only serves to validate my visceral hatred of birds
A great metroidvania, took about 5.5 hours to complete. Some of the platforming really reminded me of Celeste. A good little challenge at points but not too hard.
The graphics are stunning and breathtaking. The gameplay is incredibly immersive and well-designed.

Ori and The Blind Forest, a platform action game released by Microsoft Studios on March 11, 2015, for PC and Xbox One. The game was developed by Moon Studios, delivering an emotionally engaging and artistically refined adventure.
I’ll admit, I put off playing this game for quite some time. I thought it was just another platformer with pretty graphics but no real depth. To my surprise, I was completely blown away. This game captivated me, and I must emphasize – don’t judge it by screenshots alone, as they don’t fully capture its magic. The story of Ori is an emotional journey that hooks you from the very beginning and keeps you invested until the end.
We begin the game in the mystical forest of Nibel, which is slowly dying due to an unknown catastrophe. We take on the role of Ori, a small spirit tasked with restoring balance to the world. Ori is accompanied by Sein, a small glowing entity that serves as a guide and an attack source. While the game starts as a simple platformer, it quickly reveals itself as a challenging metroidvania, where exploration and skill progression are key.
The core gameplay is fast-paced and skill-based, with RPG elements. Ori gradually unlocks new abilities, such as double jumps, wall climbing, and quick dashes. The save point system, allowing players to create their own checkpoints, adds a layer of strategy—poor management can result in replaying long sections of the game.
One of the game’s strongest aspects is level design. Each area in the forest is unique, requiring new skills to navigate. The platforming challenges are demanding but rewarding—precise jumps and obstacle dodging feel incredibly satisfying. The game also features spectacular escape sequences, which truly test your reflexes.
Visually and musically, Ori and The Blind Forest is a masterpiece. The hand-painted 2D art style, stunning animation, and beautifully crafted backgrounds make every frame look like a painting. The soundtrack, composed by Gareth Coker, is phenomenal—melancholic, atmospheric, and emotionally powerful.
That said, the game has some frustrating aspects. Some sections require extreme precision, and the lack of difficulty options may discourage casual players. The combat system, while interesting, could be deeper—many encounters are reduced to button mashing.
Final Score: 9/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 10/10
Sound: 10/10
Pros:
✅ Stunning, hand-painted visuals
✅ Emotional and engaging story
✅ Addictive gameplay with excellent level design
✅ Atmospheric and immersive soundtrack
✅ A great challenge for platformer fans
Cons:
❌ High difficulty level can be frustrating
❌ Slightly limited combat system

Jeśli chodzi o oprawę audiowizualną, to Ori and The Blind Forest to prawdziwe dzieło sztuki.
Grafika: 10/10
Dźwięk: 10/10
Plusy:
✅ Przepiękna, ręcznie malowana grafika
✅ Emocjonująca fabuła
✅ Wciągająca rozgrywka i świetny projekt poziomów
✅ Klimatyczna muzyka
✅ Wyzwanie dla fanów platformówek
Minusy:
❌ Wysoki poziom trudności – może być frustrujący
❌ Nieco ograniczony system walki

I'm sure 99% of people don't read reviews. That's why I confess that I love young, beautiful women.
had to play through it twice, such a good game.
Magical! Cozy and gorgeous but perilous.
An absolute masterpiece.
This game is a masterpiece of its genre. After nearly a decade, I'm still moved by its graphical and audio elegance.
10/10
great sound and visual effects
A fantastic game with a perfect balance of adventure, platforming and action all wrapped up in a beautifully emotional story and a gorgeous art style. Ori and the blind forest gripped me immediately and I can't wait to play the 2nd game! 10/10
best game i ever played
Beautiful visual style combined with a great, emotional story creates a mix of positive feelings.
The soundtrack composed by Gareth Coker is a masterpiece for ears (sometimes I just want to sit down and listen to the songs than play).
I'm a huge fan of Ori, always feel relaxed and kind of free from the world when I play.
The incredible impressions guaranteed.
Challenging game play alongside a compelling story told through a unique artistic experience.
very nice, very beautiful game imo
Must try in any timeline
If aliens come and ask me what's about this games people play and can I show him some good game, I'd pick Ori. It is the best game I ever played. It is beautiful, it is hard even on normal settings, it has a great story, it has wast worlds that take ages to explore. I bought this game to play with my kids in the time of lockdown and pandemic and we all were captivated by it. I wish they work on 3rd sequel.
No obvious fault but the solid arrangement of the keyboard.
Ori and the Blind Forest walk so that Will of the Wisps could run, but that doesn't make the Blind Forest a bad game. Between its beautiful art design, breath-taking soundtrack, and gripping story, the Blind Forest is an experience you will not forget. I would recommend this game, if it weren't delisted.
Hats off to Moon Studio. This is an amazing and heart-warming game. The visuals and soundtrack are breathtaking.
In my 1st playthrough I died so many times (100+💀🤦) that I feel sorry for Ori, so I decided to do an immortal run and that was insanely difficult, as well as satisfying. It balances the amount of challenge well.
Anyways, I highly recommend this wonderful 2D platformer to everyone.
brilliant game
good
This game is not for me. I'm surprised it has such a high recommend rating. I completed the story before I posted (11hrs of game play).
The game locks the abilities behind content; this means back tracking and being unsure if you have the tools for a particular section.
Most of the challenges I found frustrating rather than rewarding when completed. The "timed" sections are stupid; the scripted
environmental changes include unnecessary camera shifts and shakes. Complete in 1 go requirements mean you can't wait to complete it.
I don't care for the story - no idea what that stupid bird antagonist wants. The cut scenes (note the prologue is good example) are unskippable every time; occasionally requires you to move in them slowly, so that wastes more time.
To summarise the frustration, this game does not respect your time. You have to do everything at the pace "as designed". As a platformer, it doesn't reward or aid mastery of mechanics.
TLDR much better to watch as a Lets Play.
One of my favourite games. Amazing touching story. The art is breathtaking. The hard mode makes it very challenging at some places
I’ll be honest, I played the last 2D game was Sonic the Hedgehog, after playing Crysis I was never a 2D platform gamer. The genre never really pulled me in, and I always gravitated towards other types of games. But then I stumbled upon Ori and the Blind Forest, and let me tell you… this game changed everything.
From the moment I started playing, I was completely mesmerized. The visuals, the music, the atmosphere—it all blended together to create something truly magical. I came in as a skeptic, and I left as a huge fan.
A Visual and Artistic Masterpiece
I don’t think words can do justice to how stunning this game looks. Every frame feels like a living painting, with breathtaking environments that are rich in color and depth. The way light filters through the trees, the movement of Ori, and the sheer attention to detail in every level, it’s a feast for the eyes.
Even if you’ve never played a 2D platformer before, the art alone will keep you invested. Whether you’re exploring the lush greenery of the Sunken Glades or escaping a raging flood, every moment is visually unforgettable.
A Soundtrack That Touches the Soul
If you ever want to feel a game through music, this is the one. The Ori and the Blind Forest soundtrack is a masterpiece on its own—melancholic, uplifting, and perfectly timed with every moment of the game.
The orchestral pieces tug at your heartstrings, and the way the music swells during emotional moments is nothing short of perfection. I found myself just pausing at times, letting the music wash over me. It’s that powerful.
Gameplay: Challenging but Rewarding
For someone who never played platformers, I won’t lie, this game challenged me. It’s fluid, fast-paced, and at times, brutally difficult. But every challenge feels fair, and when you finally nail that perfect jump or make it past an intense sequence, the satisfaction is unreal.
The movement mechanics are smooth as butter, and Ori’s abilities evolve in a way that makes gameplay feel fresh throughout. The game teaches you without holding your hand, and that sense of discovery is something I deeply appreciated.
An Emotional Story That Stays With You
I didn’t expect to feel so much while playing this game, but here I am, still thinking about its story. Without using much dialogue, Ori and the Blind Forest tells a deeply emotional tale of love, loss, and perseverance. It’s simple yet incredibly powerful.
This is the kind of game that makes you reflect, not just on the story itself, but on themes of sacrifice, belonging, and the beauty of life. And when a game can do that? That’s something truly special.
Pros:
- Absolutely gorgeous visuals – Every frame is artwork.
- A breathtaking soundtrack – Emotional, immersive, and unforgettable.
- Tight, fluid gameplay – Platforming feels smooth and rewarding.
- A story that truly resonates – Deeply emotional without needing much dialogue.
- Perfectly paced progression – Unlocking new abilities feels natural and exciting.
Cons:
- Can be quite challenging – If you're not used to platformers, expect a learning curve.
- Save system takes some getting used to – The manual save mechanic is unique but can catch you off guard.
[*]You might cry – Not really a con, but this game will hit you in the feels.
Conclusion:
I went into Ori and the Blind Forest not expecting much, after all, 2D platformers weren’t my thing. But this game proved me completely wrong. It’s a work of art, a journey of emotions, and one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had in gaming.
If you’re even remotely curious, play it. Even if you’re not a 2D platformer fan like I was, this game will win you over. Trust me, I came for the visuals, stayed for the music, and left with a new appreciation for an entire genre.
The music is super rubbish and the jump mechanic is total trash
Przepiękna grafika, historia i postacie 11/10
Thanks the Moon team for the expertise
A metroidvania masterpiece. It's a great game, visually, narratively and gameplay wise. I ended up chasing all of the achievements, including the 3 hour speedrun and immortal. This thing runs perfectly on the Steamdeck and was a joy to play.
I've heard others so the definitive edition is better overall but I never ran into any of the bugs others have reported and the new quality of life additions like the zone teleporting between the wells never really bothered me.
Beautiful game
Doesn't even launch anymore on newer systems.
Oscar Bait: The game
very good game escape missions are epic, music is very epic, platforming is great and atmosphere is good
A must check out for passive game play.
I adore the art and theme . I can play hours and enjoy my time spent on this game.
This was my 2024 go to for working on assignments and having a good game to refresh you mindset.
I have recommended to friends.
Ori and the Blind Forest is a game that feels like a labor of love from start to finish. Developed by Moon Studios, it’s a breathtaking Metroidvania that combines stunning visuals, an emotional story, and refined gameplay into an unforgettable experience.
At its heart, Ori and the Blind Forest is a tale of love, loss, and redemption. The story begins with a powerful emotional hook as Ori, a small guardian spirit, is separated from their caretaker and must navigate a dying forest to restore its balance. The game’s storytelling is minimal yet deeply impactful, relying on beautiful animations, evocative music, and heartfelt narration to convey its emotional depth.
The art direction is simply mesmerizing. Every frame of the game feels like a hand-painted masterpiece, from the glowing blues of the Sunken Glades to the fiery reds of Mount Horu. The lush, vibrant environments not only look incredible but also feel alive, drawing you into the world of Nibel with every step.
Gameplay in Ori and the Blind Forest is a perfect blend of platforming precision and exploration. Ori’s movement is fluid and graceful, and as you unlock new abilities, like wall-jumping, double-jumping, and the exhilarating Bash attack, you feel increasingly empowered to traverse the world’s intricate levels. The game’s Metroidvania structure is superbly designed, with each new ability opening up new paths and secrets to uncover.
The platforming challenges are where the game truly shines. Ori isn’t afraid to test your skills, with sequences that demand precision, timing, and quick thinking. The escape sequences, where you must flee from rising water or collapsing terrain, are heart-pounding highlights that showcase the game’s perfect balance of challenge and reward.
The combat, while simple, is effective and serves its purpose well. Ori’s Spirit Flame allows you to fight off enemies while focusing on exploration and movement. However, it’s the environmental hazards and platforming that present the real challenges, making each victory feel earned.
The game’s emotional core is amplified by Gareth Coker’s incredible score. The music is as much a part of the experience as the visuals or gameplay, with hauntingly beautiful melodies that evoke wonder, sorrow, and hope. The soundtrack elevates every moment, from quiet, contemplative exploration to the game’s most dramatic and emotional scenes.
If there’s any criticism to be made, it’s that Ori and the Blind Forest can be quite challenging, particularly for players who aren’t used to precision platformers. However, the game’s generous checkpoint system ensures that even the most demanding sections feel achievable with persistence.
Ori and the Blind Forest is more than just a game, it’s a heartfelt work of art that stays with you long after the credits roll. It’s a story about resilience, love, and the beauty of the natural world, told through some of the most gorgeous visuals and gameplay in modern gaming. Whether you’re a fan of platformers, stunning art, or emotional narratives, Ori and the Blind Forest is an absolute must-play.
> i get kidnapped by giant storm
> single parent takes me in
> single parent dies
> i get voices in my head
> i use the voices to blow sh*t up
schizo/10
Well, the game itself is very good. I don't know that it is included with the definitive edition. Sadly, there are some crazy things like MISSABLE COLLECTIBLES on several places, which was crazy because I need to do the game in another save files. Just play the definitive edition, its less buggy and have a really great story coverage with extra stages.
I've played this game far more than Steam shows. It's phenomenal.
classic
This series has changed my life. A narrative that moved me to tears and amazing artistry that has inspired me to become the artist that i am today. ♡
