play definitive edition
It is a beautiful game with great plataforming and fantastic design. Very fun to play, challenging enough to keep you engaged, but not so much to frustrate you. Excellent for casual gamers with adult responsibilities
What a shame for such a beloved franchise to be tarnished by the studio execs posting bigoted, hateful content online and treating their employees so poorly, including sexual harassment and hate speech. Thomas Mahler and Gennadiy Korol are fascists, bigots, and tyrants as bosses, and they deserve no quarter in our industry. If you haven't heard about their escapades as terrible humans, look it up before you purchase anything from Moon Studios. They got laughed out of their German audience online, and lambasted - rightfully so - by former employees. Buyer beware. Bigotry and oppressive work culture ahead.
A really awsome game with a chill atmosphere
definitely a back and forth game as you later on obtain new skills to then unlock new areas
This is my first time to write an evaluation. I am extremely excited and unable to control myself. Although this game has received high praise on Steam, I still want to praise it. Ori is a game that has kept me deeply immersed for a long time. After buying it, I played it immediately and kept playing until I finished it. This process took me one day, and it was well worth it. The game was so good that I forgot about time. I bought it yesterday afternoon and finished it tonight. The last game that made me so immersed was "The Memory of Edith Finch". Although they are not of the same type of game, they are both called the Ninth Art.
Listen, I wanted to love this game. I tried. Everyone told me, “It’s a masterpiece!” “It’ll make you cry!” “The art! The music! The feelings!” And yeah—Ori and the Blind Forest is stunning. It’s like playing a painting. The soundtrack? Straight-up soul massage. The intro? Crushed my heart in the first ten minutes like a Pixar movie with unresolved childhood trauma. But then... the actual game started. What followed was a gorgeous, emotional, and occasionally rage-inducing platforming gauntlet that slowly chipped away at my will to live. I knew it was a "challenging Metroidvania," but I didn't expect to spend so much time swearing at spikes, drowning in water, or watching Ori explode into glowing spirit dust because I missed a jump by a pixel.
The platforming is tight—too tight. Demanding. Sometimes punishing. You get one frame wrong and boom, start again. There are escape sequences that feel like trying to thread a needle during an earthquake while on fire. I could see the beauty, I just couldn’t enjoy it. Like watching a breathtaking sunset from behind a locked glass door while your eyebrows are on fire. And the save system? Manual. In a game where death happens constantly. You forget to drop a save point? That’s 15 minutes of your life gone. Again. And again. And again. It’s heartbreaking, because I respect this game. I see the love, the craftsmanship, the vision. But it feels like Ori didn’t want to hold my hand—it wanted to slap it away and yell “git gud” while I tumbled into a spike pit for the 47th time.
Final Verdict: 6/10 – A beautiful, emotional experience... that I wish I could recommend without caveats. I loved looking at it. I loved listening to it. I just didn’t love playing it. And I’m really sad about that.
Simply put, one of the greatest games of all time.
An Incredibly beautiful and fun metroidvania. Among the best of its genre.
PLAY IT NOW!!!
This is the most annoying game that i played. double jump works every other time. The gameplay itself evokes vary bad emotions because of annoying control. It's a shame i wasted the money
Ori and the Blind Forest is a beautiful and emotionally rich game with a great soundtrack - I still hum the theme to myself. The world is visually captivating, and the game play has a great balance of challenge and reward. An unforgettable game.
Lovely graphics and gameplay
Story and artwork are beautiful. Soundtracks are amazing. Mechanics are challenging, but fun and intuitive. It's one of the best platformer games there is.
Müsst ihr wissen
GREAT
While it's nice that they still give you the non-definitive version when you buy the game there's really no reason to play this version... besides getting the steam trading cards which is pretty annoying that you have to play THIS version in order to earn but I'm not mad. Just a little annoyed. 8/10
Beautiful story and game play. 10/10.
Im playing this through for a second time because it is a happy place.
I liked it.
First game I got on steam
Fantastic, beautiful platformer. For some reason the "Definitive Edition" lagged my computer to death no matter what I did. That's ok, nothing wrong with the original version.
Ori and the Blind Forest is a beautiful and emotional game. The art and music are amazing, and the story really touched me. The gameplay can be challenging at times, but it feels fair and rewarding. I loved exploring the world and unlocking new abilities. It’s one of those games that sticks with you even after you finish it.
my type...

I would categorize this as a good "MetroidVania"-style Game. I had fun, though some passages where a bit frustrating.
Avoid the 'definitive edition' if at all possible. I've met multiple people who accidentally followed the added content, got stuck, and ended up quitting the game. The original is perfect.
What grabbed me most when picking up this game was the incredibly fluid movement. It is a joy just to run and jump through the beautiful environments. The music being some of the best ever created for a game also helps.
It's sequel continues the trend and is well worth playing through after finishing the first one.
The Visuals and Story line of this game is just epic...Even the menu music is so beautiful and sad i can listen to it for hours
Worth every penny, i will never regret buying the whole Ori bundle
Great visuals, hard gameplay, lovely story
banger game
the game is a 8/10 but running it is a nightmare.
just play the difinitive edition
a very good game, set up to its sequel, one of the greatest games ever made, an excellent compelling emotional journey
rayman for masochists
As a sucker for pretty visuals in video games, i enjoy this game so much. Grande music arrangement matches the magical and intense vibes of the story. I also did not expect the gameplay would be that HARD but still fun, it takes accuracy and high concentration for me lol~ anyway great game, definitely will try to play the sequel: Ori and the Will of Wisps!
This game graphics is just insane, Really recomended
It's fun. The game is challenging but not too hard to play. I can never get bored of this game
Beautiful art, great music.
Simple and beautiful game. Not too difficult, but still challenging enough to be entertaining.
good
It was very fun, I am somewhat a beginner gamer, I developed a lot at gaming while playing and playing "blind" was very possible and made it a lot more fun so I recommend :)
Super fast :D Soundtrack is amazing too
fun
this game is awesome but just buy the definitive edition
gorgeous game that only serves to validate my visceral hatred of birds
Very aestheticaly pleasing
A great metroidvania, took about 5.5 hours to complete. Some of the platforming really reminded me of Celeste. A good little challenge at points but not too hard.
The graphics are stunning and breathtaking. The gameplay is incredibly immersive and well-designed.

Ori and The Blind Forest, a platform action game released by Microsoft Studios on March 11, 2015, for PC and Xbox One. The game was developed by Moon Studios, delivering an emotionally engaging and artistically refined adventure.
I’ll admit, I put off playing this game for quite some time. I thought it was just another platformer with pretty graphics but no real depth. To my surprise, I was completely blown away. This game captivated me, and I must emphasize – don’t judge it by screenshots alone, as they don’t fully capture its magic. The story of Ori is an emotional journey that hooks you from the very beginning and keeps you invested until the end.
We begin the game in the mystical forest of Nibel, which is slowly dying due to an unknown catastrophe. We take on the role of Ori, a small spirit tasked with restoring balance to the world. Ori is accompanied by Sein, a small glowing entity that serves as a guide and an attack source. While the game starts as a simple platformer, it quickly reveals itself as a challenging metroidvania, where exploration and skill progression are key.
The core gameplay is fast-paced and skill-based, with RPG elements. Ori gradually unlocks new abilities, such as double jumps, wall climbing, and quick dashes. The save point system, allowing players to create their own checkpoints, adds a layer of strategy—poor management can result in replaying long sections of the game.
One of the game’s strongest aspects is level design. Each area in the forest is unique, requiring new skills to navigate. The platforming challenges are demanding but rewarding—precise jumps and obstacle dodging feel incredibly satisfying. The game also features spectacular escape sequences, which truly test your reflexes.
Visually and musically, Ori and The Blind Forest is a masterpiece. The hand-painted 2D art style, stunning animation, and beautifully crafted backgrounds make every frame look like a painting. The soundtrack, composed by Gareth Coker, is phenomenal—melancholic, atmospheric, and emotionally powerful.
That said, the game has some frustrating aspects. Some sections require extreme precision, and the lack of difficulty options may discourage casual players. The combat system, while interesting, could be deeper—many encounters are reduced to button mashing.
Final Score: 9/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 10/10
Sound: 10/10
Pros:
✅ Stunning, hand-painted visuals
✅ Emotional and engaging story
✅ Addictive gameplay with excellent level design
✅ Atmospheric and immersive soundtrack
✅ A great challenge for platformer fans
Cons:
❌ High difficulty level can be frustrating
❌ Slightly limited combat system

Jeśli chodzi o oprawę audiowizualną, to Ori and The Blind Forest to prawdziwe dzieło sztuki.
Grafika: 10/10
Dźwięk: 10/10
Plusy:
✅ Przepiękna, ręcznie malowana grafika
✅ Emocjonująca fabuła
✅ Wciągająca rozgrywka i świetny projekt poziomów
✅ Klimatyczna muzyka
✅ Wyzwanie dla fanów platformówek
Minusy:
❌ Wysoki poziom trudności – może być frustrujący
❌ Nieco ograniczony system walki

I'm sure 99% of people don't read reviews. That's why I confess that I love young, beautiful women.
had to play through it twice, such a good game.
Magical! Cozy and gorgeous but perilous.
An absolute masterpiece.
