An absolutely adorable game. The art direction is adorable, the environments are adorable, and the game play loop is addicting! I have 14 hours in 2 days because I just can't stop playing it!
its shockingly managed to keep my attention longer than most games can, i turned up the graphics to max and started playing, by far one of my favorite games, it has decent gorgeous graphics, plenty of things to do, and has quite a fun and creative fan base, i have still yet to actually reach the ending but my attention span requires me to play a different game so pretty good for a couple days worth of run around play, i would say its worth the money because its pretty fun.
A peaceful and wholesome game about slimes. It's definitely nostalgic too and I love the gameplay, not too complicated but not too simple while still being lovable and entertaining.
fun game, collecting slimes and building your ranch is awesome, pretty replayable until theres nothing left to do.
This game is amazing it isnt to complicated or to hard at all. To top all of that of is that this game has so many features that i can't even name them all. Just buy this game instead of slime rancher 2 way cheaper as well just 20 bucks for this. The one bad part of this game is its ending it is not the best but thats fine. Amazing game
Im trying to 100% this game, and it has been really fun so far, some of the things you access takes a little while, like how cracking the FIRST tier of treasure pods costs 4500 of the in-game money, although that takes a bit, its still a joy to see new slimes and pet them in, the cage thingies i forgot the name, and also to just get stacks on stacks of plorts and selling them. great game, oh and also get toys for your slimes, ;)
Slight recommend. Once I got a jetpack, I could just fly and parcour to every area of the map. I got a bit nauseous from the sound effects sometimes and after a while it was tedious to figure out which slimes to put where and to move them around
It very good.
But i think i've gotten too coplicated over the years for it's genre
When I first got this game I didn't really see the point, and due to that SR didn't really keep my attention. Revisiting the game a few years later I absolutely get it now. SR has a bright, bubbly visual style that pairs very well with this adventure/farm-sim like game. It manages to strike a balance between a cozy, chill game loop and atmosphere with tension and excitement that keeps things interesting.
This Is probably one of my favorite games. I love the art, the slimes, and the map design! Very easy to play casually.
cute art and the lore is good, love the gameplay as well! very good game overall (watched markiplier play it as a kid and ive been obsessed ever since)
I am new to gaming and this is one of my favorites! I am a fan of cozy and non-violent games and this is exactly the type of game I enjoy. There is lots of choice for how to play and the day cycle format makes it easy for an adult with a busy schedule to find a good stopping place for their gaming session. I prefer to play this with my mouse and keyboard though I did try it with a controller as well.
Just 100%-ed the game, and I'm happy to report that Slime Rancher is an utterly fantastic game! It's such a lovely experience taking care of cute, happy-go-lucky little slimes, all while listening to an amazing soundtrack that never gets old and looking in awe at all the different environments! Love all the side characters, too, especially Hobson, with him being the one who sold his ranch to your character and leaves a ton of digital notes around to give you advice or just tell stories about his time on the Range! I haven't played the sequel just yet, but I'd say this game is well worth your time to play first!
I think it needs a Mouse to play better. Still an amazing game and will buy a mouse soon since it does not work well with a Touchpad.
I adore this game. It's cute, fun, and often very exciting. Learning the lay of the land can be tricky, but rewarding. The characters are really fun and engaging (especially Bob), and the story that goes on in the background is bittersweet. I love it! It is one of my favorite games to play when I'm stressed or upset.
It's not a bad game, but I expected a bit more.
- You have to commute too much. There should be accessible quick travel from the beginning.
- The map is pretty useless. You can't make your own marks, and nothing important is marked on it basically.
- I expected more complexity on the breeding and farming of slimes. They pretty much work all the same. There is no potential in automation. Also there is no free building.
- Exploration could be more challenging than just walking around.
I think it could be cozy and relaxing while offering some complexity.
I like this game :) My computer struggles to run Webfishing, but some sort of Slime God(Slod?) allows me to run this game at like 40fps! I like the gameplay and the designs, too :)
This is the most cutest-cozy game I've ever played I've gotten so addicted to this game that I am going to 100% it. This game is for people who like easy, fun cozy games.
I love this game to death, it's genuinely fantastic!
Perfect combination of collecting things, exploring and overall pretty and cute vibes.
This was such a lovely game. Everything was super cute and I really wasn't expecting to complete the story in forty hours. It really holds your attention with the exploration. Looking forward to playing the second!
This is a game to play when you don't wanna decide what game you want to play. 8/10, points off for getting repetitive at times.
This is a city and fun game to play if you just want to chill and have fun. It's really cute and also has a interesting story to the game. I love playing it so much!

Cute game, my ass. These little shits ruined my life.
Everything was fine until one slime decided to jailbreak, eat the wrong plort, and unleash hell. Now my ranch is a dumpster fire of bouncing chaos, and I’m waist-deep in shiny slime turds, wondering where it all went wrong.
Tarr slimes? Fuck those guys. Puddle slimes? Useless. Pink slimes? Absolute menaces.
10/10. Would lose my sanity to a bunch of jiggly assholes again.
I've known this game since early access and it still brings me joy to this day.
Slime Rancher is a chill experience for you to step out of reality for a bit, sit back and relax taking care of your little slimes, explore and sell their "poop", but don't relax too much, since it has some threats for your buddies and mechanics that forces you to think fas. Not a big deal, though.
It runs on almost any computer these days. Like... literally potato. Just put on low/lowest graphics and you're good to go.
Cute graphics, calming soundtrack and atmosphere, easy controls and no bugs to be seen that easily. This game ensures a smooth experience for anyone that's into farm games and/or has nothing else to do or play.
The only thing I have to complain is the early-game "slowness". While you're stuck with 100 stamina and haven't unlocked The Lab and its teleporters, having to walk all the way to a zone just to get one thing and come back (specially the pumps, drills and apiaries loot) is a PAIN, but, probably it's just me and you don't mind it at all.
Overall, this game is a huge YES. Play it, enjoy it, unravel everything that it has to offer you. Definitely a must.
My friend was disappointed that there is no multiplayer in the game.
Incorporating a satisfying gameplay loop in addition to allowing player-created pacing is not an easy feat to get correct with so many variables, and yet Slime Rancher succeeds and even excels in doing so. The player controls how slow or rapid ranch responsibilities are based on your decisions. Furthermore, there is an excellent balance between the relaxing gameplay and the humorous and rambunctious nature of slimes. Each mode allows you to jump straight into the adventure without hindrance, and you are encouraged to discover and experiment with assistance from the in-game encyclopedia. This is some great fun. Go ahead and add this to your collection!
Nice cozy sandbox game that gives a good rewarding feeling. The slimes are so cute. You learn from your mistakes along the way, but the game is very forgiving IMO. Which is good because I don't want games like this to feel grindy.
Slime Rancher is such a strangely compelling game. It combines slime ranching and farming mechanics with exploration in a way that's really enjoyable and effective. I started playing this game just wandering around and collecting resources. And then I ran into a locked ancient door. And then I found giant slimes. and then I found locked treasure chests. You just keep discovering new resources and zones. The level design is great because it always hints at there being deeper gameplay mechanics just around the corner, and the game always delivers.
This a cozy kind of game where you are more alone than anything. I never engaged with the ranch exchange until nearly the end of my game so I really played the game largely isolated, just me, the environment and my slimes. I think this feeling of isolation while exploring the world is a really great component to this game. You aren't talking to or romancing NPCs or anything. You are collecting slimes to get more resources to upgrade your facilities to get more slimes and explore. This gameplay loop kept me playing for hours. I didn't need any direct quests, I was able to create my own objectives.
And then, I unlocked the science lab and it felt like a whole new game. It literally changed the way I viewed the world. Now I could place machines to extract resources, I could build drones and teleporters. This was outside my goals in my own gameplay but its fascinating to get so invested in a game for so many hours and then unlock such a wide array of new game mechanics.
After about 12 hours, I collected all the slimes I could, explored every level, and had the credits prop up. I didn't do much in the science lab, and since I didn't use the ranch exchange I didn't explore The Wilds until after I saw the credits. I'm sure there is a lot more game to be experienced here, but I've found my time with this game to be extremely enjoyable. This game could keep going for me for hours but I am happy ending it here.
Game is so beautiful and the slimes are so cute. Love the relaxing vibes and love streaming the game to patrick!
I've played Slime Rancher numerous times and on various different devices and I can say with certainty that each playthrough is different from the last.
Typically I'm someone who tends to struggle with "cozy farming sim" type games as they can get quite repetitive and quite frankly boring but Slime Rancher really puts a unique twist on the cozy farming sim genre, just when you think you're finished there's so much more to do, explore, farm and optimize.
Slime Rancher is truly a game for everyone as you decide your own pace from casual, adventure and hard.
I bought this game back in 2017, before it left early access, and never fully managed to beat it or make much progress collection-wise. So, I decided to give it another go before starting Slime Rancher 2, also setting myself the task of 100%-ing the game by earning every achievement, purchasing every rewards club upgrade, and finding every treasure pod.
The game is extremely relaxing and enjoyable to play, with little bits of story sprinkled throughout via text holograms or letters/mail. It's easy to lose track of time while playing; during this playthrough, I've had sessions that lasted upwards of eight hours simply because I got so immersed. Surprisingly, 100%-ing the game wasn't very difficult. aside from completing the Slimepedia due to some of the crops, but it didn't feel like a chore. While it was a time consuming task, I loved re-experiencing the game after seven years. I enjoyed it immensely and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes singleplayer experiences.
I'd give the game a 10/10.
Easy to follow and super cute graphics. With essentially a gather-then-farm style of play and adorable characters, its truly addictive.
Good game to 100% had a really good time
Worth it! It's always on sale so wait on that if you want It's very chill and relaxing. The only thing that I find a little frustrating is the progression. I expected it would require more work than it did. 9/10
good game but committing slime genocide when there's more profitable specimens to be bred is too time consuming
8/10
Game has an addicting gameplay loop but due to some design choices falls short on what could have been a pretty perfect game.
The complaints are mostly due to the fact that once you get to late game the automation is not able to really keep up so you have to do a lot of manual labour which takes the majority of the time you have in a day. There are also some minor ones like there being a stamina bar for literally no reason except the jet pack it feels like.
I also didn't unlock some parts of the ranch until it felt too late which would have helped late game because there wasn't any notice of there being quests worth doing that add content and upgrades after I had already done a lot of requests that only gave me minor rewards so they didn't feel worth doing anymore so I felt kinda sad missing out on new upgrades I didn't even know existed until I had to google what I was missing in the end.
Still, bought this for 2€ and it was made by a small indie studio so these are some of the things that I don't think are a huge deal since the majority of the game is very fun.
More to this game than meets the eye. Very addicting and surprisingly tactical and relaxing!
I got it on sale for 2euros, but with the things i know about the game i would have gladly paid more. A game that knows what it is and a damn good experience!
Achievements are grindy but manageable for sure.
9/10
Oyun gayet tatlı ve guzel yapılmış cidden, İki slime'ı füzyonlama mantığı da iyi olmus bence gayet guzel bi oyun alın aldırın baska yorum yok.
The game is fine. I just got bored with it when I realized there was no purpose to anything other than just getting more slimes and money. Unfortunately this was after I hit the 2 hour mark, so I'm stuck with it.
For people who can be happy doing the same thing over and over again without a greater purpose or story, then I recommend this to them. But to people like me, it's a 'no'.
Slime Rancher is an absolute joy to play! From the moment you step onto your little farm in the colorful world of slimes, it’s like being hugged by a big, squishy marshmallow. The slimes are adorable, each one with its own quirky personality—my favorite is the hunter slime, they're just so silly and get mad when they're not fed (sound familiar?). You spend your time collecting these slime buddies, feeding them, and unlocking new areas that look like they belong in a dream. It’s peaceful, except when a Tarr slime shows up and chaos ensues (I swear they have a vendetta against me).
It is so easy to lose yourself in the rhythm of it all. There’s no pressure, just collecting plorts and watching your slimes bounce around like they’re in their own little world. It’s a perfect balance of relaxing and satisfying. Plus, the soundtrack is so calming that it’s practically a lullaby. So yeah, if you need a break from reality and a good laugh at how ridiculous slime chaos can get, give this game a try. You’ll find yourself laughing, smiling, and possibly getting a little too attached to the slime family you build!
I would give this game a mixed rating if that were possible but alas, I don’t think it deserves its current “overwhelmingly positive” rating. If you get to pick it up for under 2 bucks as I did, then why not give it a try yourself.
Positives:
- The slimes are really cute and there is a good variety of them which makes you want to find more and try out new slime combinations.
- The worldbuilding has a lot of heart. You can choose to ignore it if you don’t care about it, or you can get invested in it.
- The core premise is really promising. Vacuuming slimes and harvesting their excretions in itself is an original and engaging experience.
And now to the negatives, starting with the progression system and pacing of the game which are completely off:
- The world is quite big, and the game only provides you with one-way teleporters to get back to the farm. This results in you running through previously visited areas constantly to pick up new resources which your four slot limited inventory wouldn’t allow you to pick up the first time. There are two-way teleporters which you can unlock later. However, they are so expensive and tedious to craft that by the time you will be able to get them you will have probably already unlocked the entire map and found everything you needed with no need to ever return.
- You can simply forgo multiple closed doors with some clever platforming action. Which might as well be a plus, because trying to circumvent the intended level design was probably more enjoyable than shooting carrots at a big slime.
- The slimes which give you the keys to unlock said doors will eat any type of fruit, veggie or meat; meaning you can unlock everything, including late game content, with the same starting resources that you find right in front of your farm. You don't have to progress to progress.
- Your inventory is limited to four item slots (you cannot hold the same item in two slots). While you can upgrade the capacity of each slot, this still isn’t enough to keep you from running from A to B all the time because your item limit was reached the first time. There is no good reason not to allow a bigger inventory. The limitation only stretches out the tedious gameplay but does not prevent exploits or make anything more challenging.
- In the end, there is no point in getting better resources besides that certain slimes’ plorts (aka poop) are more valuable. You can craft useful gadgets and cosmetics but that requires you to use resources extracted via machines that you can build; an overall very unsatisfying system which requires you to slap some machines down all at the same spot and wait 12 minutes for them to extract said items before they break. In the end, the process of getting all the needed resources to craft something seems to outweigh the benefit of it all way too much. You can handle and expand your ranch just fine without any of these things.
Exploration is not being rewarded due to a multitude of reasons:
- There are treasure crates but, like the teleporters, by the time you have the needed resources to unlock the upgrade needed to even open them you have no need for their contents anymore, if you haven’t already forgotten where the crates were located to begin with.
- There are some minor puzzles but they can be completely ignored with no detriment to the player. E.g. you can activate some oases in the Glass Desert to create shelter from the fire storms in that area. However, the fire storms are completely harmless, easily avoided and you will have explored the entire area in the time it would take you to activate even just one oasis.
- Once you have sucked up the new slime species and their foods from a new area, there is no need to ever return to this area again. You won't find anything worthwile which you would need for your ranch or story progression.
Slime Rancher is underwhelming as a farming sim and far outdone by games such as Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley or the recent Fields of Mistria. Slime Rancher is also underwhelming as an adventure game as there is no engaging quest system or rewarding exploration. Slime Rancher certainly does not compare to any big sandbox titles out there as your creativity in this game is greatly limited. Slime Rancher is also not a great managment sim as your farm remains static once set up. Slimes don't breed and if you are using at least one braincell you will not struggle to set up a farm in which nothing bad would happen even if you didn't feed them. I don't know what else Slime Rancher wants to be but you can easily find better games in each category.
Fun game to 100%, more difficult than i thought as i really needed to lock in for the rush plortmaster achievement! Also fuck quantum slimes
A wonderful game it was worth my 50 something hours. I got to perfect the game! It is an amazing cozy game to play in the background when trying to chill out!
Weirdly addicting, I really enjoyed playing this game, I tend to let myself get overwhelmed pretty easily by trying to do way too much and then having to maintain it. Some automation is available, but not to the degree I would prefer.
the nostalgia of this game is real i love it so much, like a full world to explore and so so beautiful too.
Top 3 of all time favorite games. I used to play this when i was little on a big screen TV. Every time i come back to this game, a wave of nostalgia hits. Virtually one of the best life simulation, exploration games ever made. Its on sale right now (1.99$)
if you don't get it, you're missing out. 20$ is the original price, and is still well worth your money. Running around and seeing all the different varieties of slimes is the best feeling ever. Personally I've never really gotten far in this game, but for how far i have seen it, i have no doubt the rest is amazing. I cant say it enough, if you don't get it, at all, no matter the price, you are missing out. GET IT!
Its honestly really fun to play, but with mods it makes it even better you can travel the world, look for rare slimes, and with mods you can mix slimes!
the game is rlly fun to grind resources and making farms, but its kinda tiring i can barely play for more than 2 hours everytime i join
I very much enjoy this game, the more time you spend the more there's to do and for now I am nowhere near to be bored of it :D
