Overview:
Slime Rancher is a first-person farming game with a straightforward gameplay loop: explore the world, return to your farm with new resources and slimes (collectible, farmable pets), harvest resources at your base, expand your farm, and repeat. It should provide around 20-25 hours of gameplay, depending on how efficiently you manage resources and how much extra content you want to explore after completing the main objective (which is broadly defined as reaching the final area of the game).
The plot is delivered through text notes you find along the journey. The game’s focus is on building a stable farm with a variety of slimes that produce plorts after feeding (the primary source of currency and, later on, crafting materials), establishing a food supply, and optimizing the production of a range of plorts. There's no seasonal system or NPCs; it's just you, your farm, and plenty of side content and horizontal progression to enjoy between collecting plorts and exploring.
The game is highly intuitive, anyone can complete it or, at the very least, have fun building their own farm. The relaxed, lo-fi art style and soothing gameplay are the game’s strongest points.
Why I reccomend it?
Slime Rancher breaks the usual farming game tropes in several ways: there’s no seasonal schedule, it has a physics-based first-person gameplay style (slimes can jump, explode, rush towards you, and even have quantum properties, teleporting out of their enclosures). To maximize resource production, you’ll need to understand the behavior of each type of slime, as you'll eventually need to fuse them and manage any issues they cause on your farm (like escaping, damaging you, or even corrupting other slimes). The gameplay is truly unique, and I feel it gives players all it has to offer. My only complaints are that the last hours can feel a bit tedious, and the crafting system you unlock halfway through requires farming materials that feel disconnected from the slime-related gameplay. Many of these materials are necessary for useful items and decorations but aren't essential for finishing the game, so I found myself ignoring them as I neared the end.
In conclusion, achieving platinum is quite manageable (except for a few repetitive farming and crafting achievements). All DLC is purely cosmetic, buy it only to support the developers. If you are interested in this game I encourage you to wait sales, because you can find this game with even a 60% disscount. And take a look to its sequel, as far as i know it recycles pretty much everything of the original with a few addons. I hope this review helps you!
it says i've only played for 5 hours but i've played it on a different account as well, i love this game to bits, i've beat it multiple times, its so cozy and fun, it's so easy to lose track of time when you are playing. the mechanics work well, its not so easy its boring but its not hard, the art is appealing and cute, and caring for your slimes is the best (honey hunter largos are my personal favorites <3), plus the other things you can do add to it a lot. one of the best adventure/management type of games i've played

One of THE BEST relaxing games I have ever played, and one im close to fully completing achievement wise just from my relaxed playthrough alone!! Stunning artwork and worldbuilding, and really sweet subtle story, as well as just an overall fun solo adventure for winding down!! Def Reccomend it! >:)
Ust To Play this on my ps4 and now on my pc its a really good game to waste time on and u wont bored until hours later after uve player for a good 5 hours good game worth it

I know this game has been out for a long while, but my god I can't recommend this masterpiece enough. It is the PERFECT game for just relaxing, it has an absolutely amazing vibe and it's just so fun. Everyone should play this game it's beautiful
a very fun and laid back style of game. you can play at whatever pace you want. there is a reason this game is overwhelmingly positive.
Good for people looking for cozy and relaxing game, require some grind but not too bad definitely made for me.
This is a really relaxing game, cute, and may give minor scares when you almost fall of a cliff. Its relaxing until you rage but overall good game.
10/10 Extremely cute slimes with the option to dress them up or buy dlc to make them look cuter
barely took me 3 hours to finish getting every location(other than range expansions)
Minigames are just something to do and are entirely optional(im referring to the mochi miles range expansion and all the others)
with 50+ hours on switch i can say i dont regret anything i did within that time.

It's a very relaxing and fun game, getting 100% achievements is not very difficult but it's enjoyable, overall it's a cozy experience, I'm looking forward to the 2nd game coming out completely to try it out.
I think its great. Once you unlock the Glass Desert, theres not much to do anymore. Its a fun game if you want to relax, but not something to make much content out of sadly.
It's really fun, you don't even have to complete the main story, you can just explore! I love how it's free roam and you can do basically whatever the game allows you to once you unlock it!
This is absolute peak my friends. The lovely idea of a soft and calming game to play and beat is just amazing, and I have enjoyed every second of it. I will beat this game, and I hope in the near future, other people realize the beauty behind games like this.

one of my favorite games to sit down chill and explore everything it has to offer which can be a lot but overall its very nice and relaxing (the slimes are SO CUTE!!!)
Finished every 57 achivments in 32 hours I loved the game even if its little old but I had great time and its a calming game no stress...extept in rush mode ;D . I would recommend dowloading the game and also try playing it with frinds there are mods for that :3
I like the subtle foreshadowing in the cacti looking like tangle slimes. The scene where Dervish Slime kills Tangle Slime by shoving her into the cactus is so tragic. 10/10.

Nah, but in all seriousness. Good game! Very fun and relaxing. My only complaint is that it's a bit too easy, but I guess the reinforces my first statement.
I like that there's a post-game speedrunning mode (even though I never do it), it adds a nice bit of challenge for those looking for a more fast-paced experience.
The collision can be a tad buggy at times, but not at all annoying. Actually it'll help you more than anything. For example, sometimes wild slimes will try to eat something and it won't register allowing you to pick up the food item. And sometimes throwing slimes below you will launch you in the air. I managed to do a "No jumping" run thanks to this.

the game is fun interactive and lots to do plus just poking the slimes and hearing how happy they sound always bring me a smile and makes me feel better
Very fun game to play so far, i only have 2 areas of the map unlocked yet and i'm constantly exploring new areas. I love getting new slimes and have many different kinds, very fun and very addictive!
It's a really adorable game, i can take care of cute slimes and feed them and also get them toys, the landscapes are really beautiful and there are all kinds of slimes with different needs and favorite foods that are really cute, i truly love this game, perfect for cozy rainy days!
So addicting. If you enjoy grindy farmy games this is for you. Pretty nice little story as well. Cute little characters. Would recommend.
This game is really good for my adhd. It has lots to explore and tons of different slimes that just perfectly scratch that itch in my brain. I played it for a whole day today and plan to play more after work for the rest of my life.
Pretty fun but does not work proper in VR (using Pico 4).

It's basically a "grinding game" for those who love collecting stuff. It's pretty much that, with some exploration and combat. If that's your thing, you'll love this game. Graphics and design are awesome. Wish it was a little easier to unlock different zones.
Large, colorful areas, lots of EXTREMELY cute slimes, over 100+ largos, easy modding, great for begginers, adds challenges such as: The Tarr, Rare slimes, Rush Mode, and the game's 57 acheievements. A flourishing community and, for the ones who speak Slime: Haha! Wahoo!

this Game is Amazing, the Gameplay is Very Casual taking on a farming and exploratory Gameplay cycle. the Ending May be a Little Lack Luster but this is a Farming Game . with its massive Amount Smile's and Smile Combinations it bombards you with Cuteness 9.7/10
Wilx100% (Mar 29, 2023) - A very cute game where you kidnap slimes and put them in a cage so that you can harvest their poop for money. There is dozen of variations of slimes to choose from and each slime has their own favorite food which makes them produce more poop to sell. There's also farming and expanding you base for more space and upgrading tools. Only annoyance is that those little f***ers keep jumping out of their cage and eating my crops, can't wait to play Slime Rancher 2 :) I would rate this game a 7.6/10.

Fianlly completed this game after putting it off for so long. So cute, managing the ranch was fun, then frustrating, then after putting some actual effort into it, fun again. Not everyone is going to be as invested in the story since it only comes in the form of readable notes but it hit a surprisingly deep note towards the end. Good slimes!

It can be very relaxing or a very stress-full and tightly managed game, depending on how you play it. There is pretty much always something to do and entertain you!
To get the extra ranches it is a bit grindy and i tend to forget i need to do them. There is (for me) already enough space on the orginal ranch. But the new environments are also a fresh breath of air.
Also, I would die for Puddle slime. Greatest slime in the whole game
One of the best games I ever played, all the scenarios are so beautiful and the storyline is relaxing while also intriguing, a game to just spend your time and collect all different sorts of things.
this is a really fun game, i spent a lot of my time exploring and stuff and got through the story and all of the achievements that don't require a different difficulty in about 40 hours ish, i liked the story of it and the ending song for the credits was so sad, a real punch to the gut /pos, there are many small little areas that I didn't find on my first play through until I searched on the internet to find something else so that was a little annoying, but i could have just looked over ledges more in new areas instead of just assuming that just because theres something that looks like a border it is one regardless of size
This game is beautiful, adorable, and so well made. I've played this game probably 20 times over and still I haven't unlocked everything. I've searched far and wide for something similar to this game and I've found nothing to compare exactly to this game. I've also bought and played Slime Rancher 2 now and it is equally as good so far even for not being finished and I'm impatiently waiting for the final product. Absolutely a 10/10 game. Also if anybody has any games that are similar to this one please lmk.
"Slime Rancher" is a colorful, charming indie game created by Monomi Park studio. The game combines elements of a farm simulator, exploration and adventure, and its most characteristic element are, of course, cute, colorful slimes. The main game mechanics focus on slime breeding. The player uses a special tool called "Vacpack" to suck up slimes, plorts and other items and move them to different places. We can raise slimes in pens, feed them various types of food (that we grow ourselves or harvest in the wild), and then collect plorts that can be sold for various prices on the market.
Exploration plays an important role as the planet is full of different biomes, each offering unique slimes to catch, plants to collect and secrets to discover. Players have a large open world where they can explore new areas, unlock shortcuts, find rare resources, and experiment with different slime combinations to create hybrids.
Really good game, lots of places to explore, and adventure.
Good game and the graphics are really good for low-end devices.
Only thing i think should change a bit is probably the price, i dont think its the best deal but maybe its just because i hate expensive games lol

Then at one point you can feel the devs losing interest in the game and just padding the shit out of it
Then all of the sudden it ended, there was a Steven Universe ass song
I don't even sure why it ended, apparently the main story takes place in emails and other than your gf missing you it has nothing to do with the farm
didn't even get to use the gadget mechanic or find all the slimes, it just ended
It's not a bad game, it's a great concept and I had fun with it, it's just seems like it lost it's direction pretty early on which is a shame

I love this game .. but it does take some time to get to another part in the story which sorta sucks but for the most part the game is great and i enjoyed it.. just wish there was a little bit more guidance to where or what you need to progress to the other part

This was a fun game. Unique I think. At least I haven't played on like it before. I liked that I wasn't constricted to prescribed play. Which means that sometimes I didn't get the tasks done, but I had a blast just the same.
