About the Game
The SCP Foundation has gone dark. Disturbing intel from one of the many Foundation sites, Area-12, a biological research and specialized containment facility deep underground in West Virginia, has been forwarded to the FBI, who send operatives from their anomalous branch, the UIU (Unusual Incidents Unit) to investigate before initiating the Faultline Protocol.Upon arrival the UIU are ambushed and trapped within Area-12 by a facility wide lock-down, leaving you alone and without backup. For reasons yet unclear, Area-12 has adopted a new agenda creating weaponized hybrids of anomalies at this facility, and now the UIU must get to the bottom of “why” and stop them before these monstrosities are unleashed on innocent civilians.

It's got good potential, it is pretty bare-bones after the revamped chapter 1 though so keep that in mind.
Amazing Work by the Developers!
I had an absolute blast playing this game with friends—it's both fun and terrifying! There are so many different areas to explore, and I highly recommend teaming up with a friend like I did. It only takes two to dive in and enjoy!
The voice acting is fantastic, and the overall experience is immersive. One suggestion for improvement would be to add more dialogue between mission areas, perhaps involving Crow or backstory about the UIU team and how they ended up in this situation. It would also be great to hear more reactive dialogue from the SCP units, like commands such as "Freeze!" or "Get down!" or shouts during combat like "Taking fire!"
These additions could make the storytelling even more engaging, especially for players like me who love unraveling the story just by playing through the first map. Amazing job overall—highly recommended!
This keeps your enthusiasm intact while refining readability and flow. Let me know if you'd like any changes! 😊 also one more thing im really big on dialog and story so with the scary part it help so much to understand the story as a player.
Over all a great game. I cant wait to see the finished version. very realistic and combat accurate. a couple of complaints is how long it takes dead bodies to despawn in wave mode and the reload speed on some guns could be a bit quicker. great campaign. only complaint with the campaign is it is not dumb dumb proof. me being a dumb dumb i get stuck in places sometimes and cant continue. maybe they could make some kind of tutorial. but overall a absolute banger.
I've played through all the content of the raid on area 12 (the campaign) and some of the antarctica campaign. Area 12 is by far the most developed part of the game and has a good number of hours of story, especially if you take it slow and enjoy the environments the game has to offer and the various journal entries scattered across the map. The graphics are incredible and I've seen people complaining about that being the main focus of the devs rather than the gameplay or adding new SCPs. Honestly I do think the game could benefit from having more SCPs but you've got to remember that this game is an FPS as much as it is a horror game, so having lots of enemies to shoot at is a good thing imo (this means a lot of zombies or other scps that multiply). This game does it's job as an FPS very well, the movement is smooth, the guns look good and feel good to shoot. There's lots of guns to choose from and the attachments are cool and useful. It also does a good job in the horror element too.
I will say I've got some constructive criticism for the game. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason as to when you spawn with a single clip of ammo or with a full 5. This gets to be pretty annoying when you die on a level and get kinda stuck (especially if you're like me and played the game solo). On that note, this game is definitely better with more people but can be done solo. Also the AI is erratic as hell, sometimes they don't notice you when you're standing 10 feet from them and other times they go around a corner like Jynxzi and pop you in the head before you know what happened. They can also shoot through walls sometimes.
I'm a huge fan of SCP games and I'm used to half of them I play being buggy as hell or incomplete so what bothered other people didn't bother me as much. I feel this game has a lot of potential and will be awesome when it gets fully released. You should definitely get the game even if it can be a bit buggy at times and is not done yet. Support the devs! I'm really looking forward to what this game becomes.
SCP Reveal spoiler (don't look if you want it to be a surprise) :
The SCP in the education center on the monitors was probably the frustrating part of the game I encountered. Sometimes I'd just drop dead after having hardly looked at a screen. It took me a good amount of deaths to get through this level. The devs have acknowledged that this is a WIP and it's a pretty neat scp but definitely needs some work.
So, all I have to say is, it's clearly an alpha. But that's not a bad thing.
The fundamentals are there, especially the guns, since they might be one of, if not the best guns I have ever seen in any game. Their impact, the gun feel, how they look—it's all amazing. The setting is also amazing since I am a big fan of the SCP fandom, and since it's set in that world and has a lot of references to things in SCP pop culture, it's just perfect for me.
But there are some clear drawbacks I see, most of which, if not all, are a result of this game being in alpha.
The main story, while interesting for me as a big SCP fan, was too subtle or hidden behind a wall of text for my friends, who are not big SCP fans, to enjoy. There is an improvement from the previous update with the addition of TOC; however, adding voiceovers to the UIU character that the player controls would be a huge addition. I'd say the best approach to implementing UIU voiceovers would be something similar to how Ready or Not handled player voices. There doesn't need to be a lot of them—maybe 4 or 5, or even 3—and adding some random background chatter or reloading/action voice lines would go a long way. Features like that would bring more life to the story and action.
Additionally, some minor cutscenes would significantly improve the storytelling. They could be rare and only appear in a few key segments of the game, but they would still make a massive difference for me.
Another thing that I think should be addressed is discouraging rushing. When my friends and I were playing, one friend decided to just rush ahead and ignore the enemies, and nothing happened to him. The horde didn't care and focused on us instead. This ties into my next point, which is the enemy human AI. I think, given how the health system works, they should either deal less damage (getting one-shot is not fun) or the player should have more HP. This would work perfectly with another issue: there are no real consequences for dying in the game.
I think making respawns more rare—only occurring after clearing an area of enemies or moving onto the next area—while giving the player more HP so they don't die in two shots, would be the perfect way to balance things out. It would make the game both less forgiving and less frustrating. A feature I'd like to see alongside this is the ability to pick up meds for later use—maybe one or two—so this system could work more effectively.
Even though I have some valid criticisms of the game, I clearly see the passion put into it. The fundamentals are absolutely amazing. And since this is an alpha, there is a lot of development ahead, and most of my concerns will probably be addressed in the future.
So, would I recommend buying this game?
Yes. In order for the game to come out of alpha, it needs support. If you're a big fan of SCP or just love cool guns and shooting zombies, it's definitely worth it.
very cool concept has some real stabillity issues. fun to check out but i would wait till the full release for your first time unless your blown away
in love with this game great game all around good job devs keep up the updates and it will only get better
Would love to continue playing once the game is fully finished, campaign was very fun and intense, wish there were more checkpoints though, recommended playing with others even though I did it solo.
+Played Mission 1 with two friends
+got Minor jump scares
+spent 5 minutes trying to crouch jump for smg
+fought chickens and dogs
+fought the combine from HL2
+did a cod zombies Easter egg step
+got jump scared so hard from a wooden door, i scream bloody murder
+watched a friend die to same door

The Devs love their game and are working hard at it which is a breath of fresh hair.
When i first tried this game out it was good and the music was firee🔥and at the start we were kind of seperated but found eachother which is a cool thing. and the SCP-3199 looks like a raw turkey and the screen anomaly was a little bit scary. And the details where beautiful for a game like this. I recommend to play this game with friends.

Animations 9.8/10
Maps + Raids 8.9/10

Fun game with modern graphics and animations.
This is the 1st time I legitimately want to refund a game. Usually, people create a quick mock up to see if game mechanic is fun and only then proceed to create detailed assets. But here it's vice versa: team created cool detailed assets and brought bare bones to the gameplay table. It is simply boring and not worth the price tag. Feels like guys created a gun simulator instead of a game. Level design of old levels is a pain in the neck. Content is pretty limited. I know, this is an alpha version. But it's so god damn raw, "it's not even rare, it's unheard of" raw level.
Can't explain so high rating at this point. Totally not worth your time AT THE MOMENT. Maybe in the future.
games absolutely the best game to come out in 2022 tbh, i bought it when it released been playing it off and on sense its a lot more active, mainly bc stuff works 100% better then release. god i have so many clips of my buddy's and i getting clipped by peanut. buy this game if you love guns, the GUN GAME PLAY IS LIKE BODY-CAM graphics but way better aiming system (like battlefield). i play this with like 6 people i convinced them to get it and they absolutely agree amazing scp game.
I genuinely wonder if all those positive reviews are playing the same game as I am, because genuinely - this is unacceptable, even for a 25$ game, but to be selling a 65$ deluxe edition, already, when it is this badly unfinished? Good god.
Really tells you where the dev's priorities are, when they have what feels like nearly a hundred guns fully functional and with some beautiful graphics, yet the enemy AI, level design, UI and actual, yknow... game, just is an unpolished, shitshow of a game. This feels like trying to implement a janky, unfinished version of RoN gunplay, into a unity asset flip made in 6 hours. It just doesnt work.
I REALLY hope this game takes off and gets a lot more attention in the future. While there isn't a lot of content right now, what's here is top quality. Gunplay and atmosphere is amazing, and I much prefer the less hand holdy type of progression. This has the potential to become one of the best COOP games out there if they play their cards right.
3 hours in and I am enjoying myself with this one. It's a little buggy in some spots but it's early access and nothing game breaking.
For example:
- Your character continuously checks the mag. IDK why? He just does, even when interacting with other objects. What got me a couple of times was when he was checking his mag and an enemy jump scared me. The gun was in the animation but still allowed me to shot the enemy (thank God).
- Your character moves his arms like he's running when he's walking with a pistol. That's weird and annoying at times.
- Enemy Soldiers will sound like they are still dying after they are clearly dead...lol...they gurgle blood and it threw me off a couple of times. Maybe it's intentional.
- Another thing I noticed is that no matter what weapon I have it will give me ammo, even if the ammo box says 5.56 and I clearly do not have a 5.56. I have a 9m :) I mean I appreciate the ammo though, don't get me wrong.
- Character hit detection/notification could be improved I feel. The enemies would hit me and I didn't know how much damage I was taking because of the chaos and all the sudden I was dead. Maybe a stagger or a sound effect or visual on the HUD/UI?
- One other thing, it's minor, but maybe a yellow tarp or yellow spray paint where you are allowed to vault or climb would be nice. I literally jumped over a rail that was the same height from front to back in the back but it would not allow me to jump over the front.
I feel like these are all minor and really doesn't take away from the game play. The enemy types, gun play, puzzles, etc. are all pretty good. Look forward to playing it some more.
Very fun game! I and my friend had a great time trying to escape every place we got into. Can not wait for more content.
This game is going to be one of the greats... im tellin you omni version all mine totally seeing the vision must get but it is early access
Add save button please!
Great game with great concepts, constantly being updated and developed further. Even in alpha game is still smoother and better then 95% of console games on full release day.

omg this is actually peak
like actually
i usually dont review games like this, but even if it's in alpha testing, i absolutely love it!
The game is kinda fun with what is has but I could've sworn there was something that was actually finished. The Area-12 map you can soft lock yourself easily when dying because the crowbar disappears. There are a few bugs that are game breaking. Pressing the elevator button twice stops the elevator from moving for one.
I think the game will be very good down the line.
Nobody is playing. There is no player base. I'm not sure if they plan on canceling the full release. The idea of the game is great, graphics and atmosphere are nice, but the lack of players killed it for me. Uninstalling.
Enjoying the changes they're making to the game. Can't wait to see the finished product. If you like supporting development, consider a purchase. At $20, it's really not a huge investment into several hours of fun.
I like it, but you really need someone for more enjoyable experience
I see this game making BIG TIMES. Loved it, Fact that its Early Access and in Alpha Testing it is great.
Great game, excellent start for it and a lot of potential. The co-op factor of it was extremely fun! Being able to work together and clear areas, survive or essentially escape were finely combined in this game. There are workbenches throughout the maps or areas that allow you to modify or add attachments to your firearms (i did not notice any negative impacts from this) but if you add a flashlight be advised you cannot turn it off (you can only turn on/off your own personal flashlight, not one mounted on a firearm). You can peek corners, there is an element of surprise in every map or challenge. Communication is crucial and adds to the fun experience!
Impressive. Being a SCP game, i thought it was just going to be one of those buggy mess of a game that comes out to chase the trend, but no, this game is being developed by people who has a passion.
I'm no gun nut, but my little nephew is, so he appreciates every little gun mechanic that they added - from checking how much ammo you have left to checking out your gun - little guy gets a kick out of it. The realistic magazine swap from low to full back to low is a very cool mechanic that all AAA title companies shies away because they think normies cannot handle such "complex" gun mechanic.
AND, this game isn't easy by any metric. i died a few times, and i come from a long history of FPS, while my nephew is still young and plays your usual cod. what i am getting at is, for some reason, this game is well balance enough that a person like me can play and have fun, and a person like my little nephew, can also play and have fun without dying all the time.
also, the gun play is above average. its not your cod game where everything is laser focus. all guns has a weight and heft to them, and so does your character which i really like. again, no floating, fast, diving characters, just straight up semi-sim like military shooter that does required a bit of vector checking before proceeding forward.
they still have a whole lot of WIP going on, but again, the passion is there. i can see the little details that they have added over the years, and the level design has also improve by a lot. its hard not to recommend this to those generation that grew up with the scp hype as this game pretty ticks all those boxes.
i dont follow scp, but i know of it because of my nephew's dying passion for it.
This is like one of the few times I've actually been glad I spent money on a early access, or even Alpha product. If this is this good at this far in the development, and I know it has been a long time, then it has a very bright future. Hopefully some capital comes through to this dev team so they can really push this one out for us.
This is a good game and it has come a long way from where it started but the one thing that is the most annoying thing is the check points, there isn't enough of them or they are not put in good spots. the garage is one of them, you get so far in that area just to do a spot that has you turn off some pipes so you can get into a new area but you can die a lot and if you don't do it then you get sent back to the very start of the garage. that is annoying as all ****, you fight all the way there then you have to survive a hoard while trying to turn off pipes just to get into an area where they follow you. your down on ammo and health and if you die you get sent back to the start. thats a great way to ruin a game. i hope that they fix it because its not fun to do something then die and get sent to the start again. I don't want to game to be made easier i just want better check points.
Played this with 3 friends, janky, but the still the most fun night of gaming ive had in along time. We still have several chapters to beat. We only finished the first one in the campaign. Genuinely terrifying at times.
EDIT, We beat the game so far. Aside from the first chapter of area 12, the rest of the game is absolutely awful. It needs alot of work, and because it literally says ALPHA testing on the game, I wont thumb it down, this is what an ALPHA should be..but it clearly needs alot of work i would avoid for now.
The Game is very cool, if you want a horror game with the gunplay from ready or not and with great graphics then is is the game to buy. It is still in early access tho and you will see some wierd clipping in for example the enemies but i was able tro look over it. In terms of bugs, in my playthrough to this point i could not find any gamebreaking bugs. The gameplay has multiple elements and i thick most of them are great!
For me its an easy buy, but i would higly recommend playing it with atleast one friend
So much potential, they've got the foundations perfected along with content already. With time more campaigns and content will come, if you like SCP and Spec Ops this is worth the buy.
its an alright game, but they keep changing it. i originally got it after it first became available, and they changed the story/ maps. i liked the newer version, but they changed it again and now it is worse and every time they remodel it it gets buggy. like unplayable buggy. i get that it is alpha, but you dont need to completly start over if you find it too hard to fix. it was really good a few months ago and i cant even get passed the first part in zone 12 now because something lags out and i get soft locked.
Guns are cool and graphics are great, but buggy and the missions don't work. Get stuck at certain parts (no further objectives, no enemies, nothing) - with how long this has been out I don't see it getting fixed. Do no recommend at anything above $10
Hopefully they finish this game and optimize it a bit (UE5 engine stutters are present), but as of right now, it is a lot of fun AND playing it solo adds to the horror tension! Also, it runs fairly well on the Steam Deck too, low settings 40 to 45 fps! Try it out, set a timer for 1 hour 50 minutes just in case you want that refund OR do what I did and keep playing it haha!
I never thought I'd see a game set within the horrid 5K storyline, not horrid as in badly written. Horrid as in it's truly the darkest timeline, and despite playing as the few trying to keep humanity in the light, those who read the entry for SCP-5000 knows how it ends. Regardless, I love this game for it's tactical action mixed with the broad list of SCP's that you encounter in Area 12 alone, I can't wait to see the abominable SCP-610. Taking it slow and steady is advised as the Foundation won't make it easy on you, any enemy with a gun is brutal. Yet, if you got a gun that works well and a good sense of paranoia to keep you alive, you might just make it. Might.
We Die In The Dark, So Humanity Can Live In The Light.
As an avid fan of the SCP universe, I was excited to dive into the alpha of SCP5K. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. The most glaring issue is the game's optimization. Even with a good rig, the performance was subpar, with frequent stuttering and frame drops, making the gameplay feel clunky and disjointed. This is something that seriously hampers the immersion, especially in a game that relies heavily on atmosphere. Audio is another major problem. Sound effects are choppy, and there were moments when audio completely cut out, which is frustrating in a game designed to build tension and suspense. Without proper sound design, the eerie atmosphere falls flat.
Awesome game. chapter 2 of the first level was kinda hard, i didnt really knew what to do without searching up a guide.
Especially fun with a friends.
Still needs improvement in terms of optimisation but overall gameplay experience is fun especially with friends
Gunplay & sounds are extremely satisfying. Always looking forward to the next update, keep up the good work👍
10/10 pvp. The MP needs to be ripped out of this game, finished, and sold independently. With the game that's there now, a finished, polished version would seriously be top 5 shooters ever.
Not sure why people upvote this game in it's current form.
The gunplay and the look of the game is nice, but that's kindof all it has to offer.
Enemy variety is like 4 different enemies, even those are barely visible throughout the entire game.
Most of the gameplay is about you running around to find what to do.
The gunplay= Amazing
Graphics= Amazing
Gameplay? Huh... Its a run and search with few enemies. The enemy encounters are good, but the amount is too few.
Play the atrantica map and you'll understand what i mean.
This game keeps blowing my mind with its updates, each one being better than the last
Sick atmoshphere, deep story, brutal combat and satisfying gunplay. What else would a man need?
This game has definitely become better overtime. There's not that many SCP game's that are on this level.
