Game is generally pretty good... Except for the fact that they decided to "patch" the game a year or so ago and COMPLETELY BROKE HOLDOUT AND CRIME SPREE. Good luck getting every achievement when entire modes crash quite literally 95%+ of the time.

It WAS perfectly fine. So WHY did we need to change it? Why did we need to 'fix' it? Development was halted years ago and yet the team felt the need to 'fix' the game all of the sudden when Payday 3 reviews were terrible? Coincidence? Personally, really doubting it.

All in all, I'd love to recommend the game. I love the game. It's great. But with devs deciding to still put patches in the game that 'fix' certain builds they think are too overpowered or 'fix' game-modes by making them unplayable..?

Just go back to the way things were. Sure it was a buggy mess but it was a PLAYABLE buggy mess. Now, a large portion of the game is so unstable that it frequently crashes and completely locks your mouse requiring you to literally create a new desktop and task manager the game without using your mouse in order to get it back or to just restart your entire pc.

These are FREQUENT issues. I have not had a single play session in YEARS that didn't have multiple people crashing multiple times in just a few hours. All of this was without mods too. In fact, we even installed mods for the sole purpose of trying to make the game crash less.

Revert to the way things were a few years ago and it's great. But don't stop development of a game and then give half-assed patches that completely break the game and then say you don't have the resources to fix what you broke because they're all focused on the other game.

game says stealth on some missions but stealth is literally impossible unless you like to repeat a level 15 to 20 times. game is complete trash

This is not a game about epic heists, it is game about getting twerked on by cloakers restarting stealth heists and a bag throwing simulator!

The game is overall fun, and I like the fact that you can have mods. I have a bit of performance issues but I think it's just because my laptop is old.

I guess this was something that was fun back in 2013. But it's just a goddamn boring zombie horde shooter, police edition. You can run between bullets but you won't die cuz zombies don't really do much damage, even when they do have bullets. They never stop spawning either. Zzzz.

If you’re looking for the ultimate co-op heist experience, Payday 2 is where it’s at. I’ve put hundreds and hundreds of hours into this game, and even now I find new builds, new strategies, and new ways to make the cops’ lives miserable. There’s just nothing else like it — and that includes Payday 3.

This game is loaded with content. Dozens of heists, hundreds of weapons, perks, mods, masks, and playstyles. Want to go in loud with LMGs and full armor? Do it. Want to sneak through a bank without anyone knowing you were ever there? Good luck — but yes, you can. The freedom is wild, and every mission feels different depending on your crew and your loadout.

The progression system is incredibly rewarding. You’re constantly unlocking stuff — new gear, skill trees, infamy levels — and every change you make actually affects how you play. Combine that with a deep modding community and endless build variety, and you’ve got a game you can play for years.

Now… about Payday 3.
I wanted to love it. We all did. But let’s be real: it launched with a fraction of the content, way fewer features, and somehow removed a bunch of things that made Payday 2 great. No real offline play, basic matchmaking, shallow customization — it just felt half-baked. Meanwhile, Payday 2 is sitting here with 10 years of updates, polish, and chaos that still holds up incredibly well.

Sure, it has its rough edges — the engine’s old, and some stuff can be janky — but it works, it’s fun, and it’s been supported like crazy. Even now, it gets love from both the devs and the community.

If you’re new to the series, don’t start with 3. Start with 2. It’s cheaper, deeper, and just straight-up more fun.

Its a perfect game, although you might want to just gouge your eyes out after trying the hardest difficulty, but its just a great game in general.

Payday 2 is a great co-op shooter with tons of replay value. The action is intense, the variety of missions is impressive, and working together with friends to pull off a loud heist is a blast. There’s a lot of depth with the weapons, skills, and gear customization, and it’s really satisfying to build your character around a certain playstyle.

That said, the stealth missions are bad. Not just tricky - they’re frustrating. The detection system is inconsistent, guard paths are unpredictable, and the margin for error is way too small. It feels out of place compared to how fun and flexible the rest of the game is.

If you stick to loud heists, Payday 2 is absolutely worth playing. Just be ready to either skip or suffer through the stealth parts.

I think this is one of the most fun i have had in the past years playing a heisting game, even if overkill fucks us big time they at least manage to fix things up as much as they can. might be a weird thought but this is my Garry's mod with the amount of mods you can add to the game and how much support they are getting (or at least used to) so even if you don't like the smallest thing, someone has you covered. The heists in my opinion don't get boring even after countless rotations to grind xp for infamy. this game is where i made most of my friends and where i met truly special people both negative and positives. There might be a shit ton of dlc's but the legacy pack has everything you need to enjoy the game a lot, everything else is experimental or just achievement grinding.

It's such DAMN GOOD FUN, although I'm fairly new... I suggest the Sociopath perk deck if u have the required Hotline Miami game.

Fun shooter game plenty of action lots of different levels of play cool DLC's

Absolutely solid gameplay with a wide variety of guns/equipment to choose from to use in the several heists that feature both guns blazing and stealth options, making replayability a good factor in this game. Online play is not a requirement but is strongly suggested to get the most out of the game as bots are kinda meh. Would recommend as a good game to play with buddies when you want to casually chat as normal difficulty is pretty simple on most of the heists with no overwhelming mechanics requiring hardcore focus.

I beat several men to death with a giant spoon well being shot by hundreds of more and shrugging it off and firing an lmg into cops and civilians. Than I went home and tried the game. Wasn't that fun

this game is basically a crack addiction. you get burned-out after playing this okay-ish at best game, only to have strong withdrawals later on

PAYDAY 2 is a classic that everyone should play a least once. It supports a lot of different play styles, you like some stealth? This game has you covered, you like to go guns blazing? Yep, you can, do you wanna beat cops up with a giant spoon, a minigun and a multi-shot 4 rounds rocket launcher? YES YOU CAN. and don’t even get me started with the mods.

The problems:

This game has some weird things that don’t make any sense, you can’t close doors(its not a problem but it’s just….weird), the AI is really random(especially civies), playing solo is really annoying if there is a lot of bags to move etc and the biggest problem im my opinion is that the game is HEAVILY DLC DEPENDENT, you can’t play 70% of the game if you don’t have the DLCs(and there are a lot of them).

Overall, PAYDAY 2 is an incredible game even if you don’t like heist games, its pretty fun and it’s almost perfect, also don’t play PAYDAY 3.

There's no other way to put it: This game is simply legendary. Over 20k concurrent players 12 years post release is all the proof you need that this is a one of a kind experience. Be it with friends or randoms, I had hundreds of hours of fun with this game as a kid. Just looking at the menus already floods me with nostalgia.

It was impossible to deliver a proper sequel to this game considering the sheer amount of content built up for well over a decade, and yet Payday 3 is so much worse than anyone could've imagined. Honestly, there's no reason for it to exist at all. This game is all you need. If millions can still enjoy WoW with its potato graphics, there's no reason why this game can't continue living on and on. Just look at Payday 3's player numbers compared to this game and try not to laugh.

This is the definitive Payday game.

1,000 hours… well 1,000.1 hours and i’m still in love with Payday 2, just so much fun, replayability and everything. just perfect top to bottom even with it’s flaws it’s still my favorite game and a classic worth a shot.

it's very addicting and some of the most fun i've ever had playing games, but there are too many dlc for too much money and they have clearly given up on fixing any of the numerous issues that plague this game (from bugs to severe balance problems) in favor of throwing all their efforts into the black hole that is payday 3. pirate the dlc's if you're going to buy this and save yourself the headache down the line.

I switch from PS5 to PC and the difference its insaned this game on PC its 1000 better

This game is pretty fun especially when you play with other people. The vast collection of masks and weapons makes it even more amazing. The only downside is the sheer amount of DLC.

They gave this game out for free years ago. Never really thought about playing it. Tried recently, and it is surprisingly interesting. I thought it would be just boring, "go in an rob" jobs. But there's a bunch of different ways to rob places, either stealthy like or just going in loud. Tons of guns, like TONS. More than in a lot of games. Tons of melee weapons all funny as well. It's an interesting game.

I remember looking for hosts with a modding site in their names, since they had cheats 90% of the time and would carry you through giving you large amounts of money and xp. Was fun while it lasted

I've heard about Payday for the longest time; my friend from school used to play it all the time, even dressed up as Dallas for Halloween. It never really peaked my interest at the time because to me it looked complex. I stuck to playing Team Fortress 2, Garry's Mod, and going back and forth on my console. Now I'm almost 21, and It wasn't until recently I just got bored of playing the same four games in rotation - I wanted to try something new. I did try to get into Payday about four or three years ago but for some reason it didn't open so I refunded it. However, I decided to give it a chance again, and for some reason it works now. I may have just started a week ago, but man, this game already has me hooked.

Overall, in terms of beginning and playing with some friends - its a really fun game and I can see why my friend loved it so.

Would recommend for people with spare time.
You can play however you want, just be warned, if you want everything in the game, you kind of have to get your wallet for that too...

I've sunk hundreds of hours into Payday 2, and it's still one of my go-to games when I'm in the mood for some high-stakes heists.

The game has its quirks, but the thrill of planning and executing complex robberies with friends is unbeatable. The variety of missions and play styles keeps things fresh, from stealthy takes to all-out gunfights.

The community is still pretty active, so finding crew members or servers isn't usually a problem. If you're a fan of tactical co-op gameplay and don't mind some repetition, Payday 2 is a great choice. Just be prepared for some intense moments and possibly a few frustrated rants from your crew members.

The game keeps crashing. Every time, there is an error during the 2nd or 3rd day of the heist. When I reconnect, the game progress is gone. Offshore moneys keep pouring out. I just don't understand why it's not simply recorded. Is my time wasted? Or my investment in the heist is worthless.
I advise those who want to buy PAYDAY 2 to think carefully about whether you are willing to spend time on half of the heist and then quit and start over. Now I just enjoy the sense of accomplishment of solving achievement and play with my friend but annoyed by constant crashes.
(The same not recommended goes for PD3, but it is because of the gameplay. )

Even so many years after release the community is still thriving which should speak for its quality. Just one of the greatest games ever made. Lots of fun with friends too

Payday 2 is a really great if you play with friends,but if you join want to join a random match,be prepared to be kicked because if you are not infamy 100,they wont let you play modern day payday 2 people and be prepared to lose connection all the fucking time,that honestly annoys me the most,I want to pull my hair out when i lose connection for the 100th fucking time today.

Amazing game. This is the ultimate heisting game, and started the genre itself. It is a perfect game with amazing stealth mechanics, lovable characters, fun multiplayer, and a story that rivals that of Half-Life. Worth all the money paid for it, would recommend. Happy Heisting!

Funny that being a criminal in a game is okay but being one in real life is not.
Also it is sad that Payday removed the Boiling Point heist,that was probably one of my favourite heists

If you are looking for an indepth game with near endless replayability, or a fun classic experience of a great game with you and some friends there isnt a better pick than Payday 2. As someone who's been playing on console sense 2014 with over 2,000 hours I can say without a doubt this is one of the best games I've ever played and despite payday 3's repuation, payday 2 is still a stellar game. It goes on sale frequently, so I'd atleast recommend picking it up to plat with a couple mates. With a fantastic modding community and vast amounts of dlc content you will NOT run out of things to do. I find myself continually comming back to this game, and loving it every time.

Definiatley worth it, and while being a new player may seem daunting, I know myself and may other community memebers enjoy nothing more that sharing a game we're passionate about with new players. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask!

Payday 2: The Art of the Heist — A Review by Donald J. Trump

Let me tell you, folks, I've seen a lot of games, but Payday 2? It's tremendous. Absolutely tremendous. You're part of the Payday Gang — a group of professionals, very smart, very tough. They wear suits, they wear masks — very classy, very intimidating. Reminds me of my rallies — the energy, the excitement, the commitment. People say it's just a game, but I say it's a movement.

Now, the equipment? Top-notch. The weapons, the gadgets — very advanced. But let's be honest, nothing beats American-made. We need to make sure these in-game items are subject to tariffs if they're imported. Protect our virtual economy, folks. It's about fairness, it's about strength.

And GenSec? Don't get me started. They're supposed to be the best in security, but they can't stop the Payday Gang. They're too focused on being politically correct, too woke. They need to toughen up, get back to basics. Security is about strength, not sensitivity.

Some people compare the Payday Gang to the January 6th crowd. I see the resemblance — passionate, determined, fighting for what they believe in. It's about making your voice heard, about standing up to the establishment. Very powerful.

The best Payday games there is today and yes normal this game is more fun with friends but u can find it fun to play with your sefl and it only 10 eur now better then payday 3. i love this game

The gameplay is literally the same thing over and over and over. That being said it is fun learning to do the mission perfectly with a group.

I like cheese. I put cheese in my sandwich and in my burgers. You can even put cheese on fries, melt it and put bacon. Cheese also can come in strings,flat and in a ball form. although American cheese is nasty. CHEESE!!!

Best co-op PvE game ever made. Endless content. If you haven't played this game you are missing out.
