The CSAT camouflage patterns are extremely based
This is a great game, BUT not the best. Still great thow.
Arma 3 exile is prob more fun than rust ark and tarkov and no one knows about it sadly its dying
The admins consistently let other players ruin the experience for everyone else. Spent a lot of money on this game and the mods to have a terrible time in game. I've taken all necessary steps to alleviate this but they just do not care. This game brings a horribly toxic and hateful crowd. There is no hope for it.
Absolutely recommend this game! Little jank on some of the things it does but what game doesn't! A blast with friends or randoms!!!!!
Damn, I never expected a game this old to be so impressive. It's fantastic if you want to play single-player, but the game truly shines in multiplayer. The modding community is amazing, offering endless possibilities and ways to play. I highly recommend picking this game up during a sale, as it’s often discounted to 80%.
Absolutely amazing game with loads of customization. Its a very complex game with alot of keybinds and nuances you have to learn but dont let that stop you from buying this! I got this and squad at the same time, and so far am enjoying this more
Very good, very tactical. If youre looking for team based shooters this is it, Communication with your teammates is important. This aint yo grandpas FPS
playing a out of breath middle aged guy getting head shot from 300m away just to do it again 3 minutes later and die to the same guy 10/10
it cool game most fps ive gotten is 50 but still cool game
A little buggy and pretty hard if you don't know what you are doing
We literally spent 2 hours to just to host our own private server to play with my buddy together; crashed 4 times, had downloaded more than 40 GBs of maps & mods, ended up removing some of the mods, installed 2 software to arrange the LAN connection in between, had to manually allow the game in firewalls to connect with each other...
But you know what? After all that, we had a blast and I ended up enjoying the game and the moments with my buddy. It did worth it.
What did my friend said? ''Welcome to Arma, Batu''
10/10; will be revisiting this ancient beauty.
A slight learning curve, but once you get it you cant get enough of the game and can play for endless hours.
Very good game, but only for a very specific type of person.
The servers and community are great people. That said, Arma is a milsim; if you go in with the premonition that you can just go around shooting bad guys, it isn't that simple. A lot of servers have certain types of etiquette and many of them use mods that change up the experience of Arma. Not like it is a bad thing, but it is very overwhelming for a new player. There are also a lot of DLCs and many of these DLCs are required for certain servers. They do go on sale, but if you're looking at just getting Arma without the DLCs, you may not have as good of an experience.
Arma is slowly losing player counts but it is still an active game. If you want a chill experience with a group of people and some elements of milsimming, then I would look towards Squad. Arma is very much for those who want the full experience.
i really like this game. it has a high quality, but the only thing is that it is hard for new players.
ARMA 3 Review: The Simulator That Thinks You Have 12 Fingers
ARMA 3 is not just a game; it’s a lifestyle—or a deathstyle, depending on your grasp of military tactics and keyboard shortcuts. Bohemia Interactive’s magnum opus is equal parts brilliant and bewildering, offering you a detailed sandbox military simulator while occasionally reminding you that you're just a clueless civilian trying to crouch behind a bush.
Graphics: War Never Looked So Good… or So Confusing
ARMA 3’s visuals are like a soldier's meticulously polished boots—stunning when they shine in the sun but filled with hidden pain. From its sprawling, hyper-realistic terrains to its beautifully rendered sunsets that make you ponder the futility of war (and your life choices), it’s a visual treat. That is, until you’re trying to locate an enemy sniper who’s just a single pixel on the horizon.
One moment you’re admiring the scenery, the next, you’re face down in the dirt, wondering why your character’s legs are twisted in an unholy yoga pose. Turns out, ARMA 3 doesn’t just simulate war; it simulates the tragic beauty of not having eyes in the back of your head.
Gameplay: The Thinking Gamer’s Meat Grinder
If you thought first-person shooters like Call of Duty were realistic, ARMA 3 will slap you across the face with its manual. This isn’t your typical "run and gun" game; it’s more like "run, crawl, prone, check your map, forget which button is crouch, and die."
The game’s controls are a full-body workout for your keyboard. There’s a button for literally everything: walking, jogging, sprinting, leaning left, leaning right, and probably saluting your mom in case she walks in. It’s like playing Twister with your fingers. Forget to reload your gun? You’re toast. Forget to communicate with your squad? You’re double toast.
Yet, once you survive the five stages of grief that come with learning the controls, you’ll discover a gameplay experience so immersive you’ll forget what daylight looks like.
Multiplayer: Where Chaos Meets Comedy
ARMA 3’s multiplayer is a social experiment in teamwork—or the lack thereof. In theory, you’re supposed to work together to complete objectives. In reality, you’ll be:
Driving a tank straight into a tree because Jerry from accounting wanted to “try driving.”
Getting shot because someone shouted “CONTACT!” but forgot to specify where.
Lying prone for 20 minutes waiting for orders, only to get bombed by an enemy who spotted your squad because Dave couldn’t resist lighting a flare.
If you’re lucky, you’ll join a group of ARMA veterans who treat the game like a sacred ritual. They’ll teach you the ropes, bark orders in NATO phonetics, and berate you for calling your gun a “boomstick.” If not, welcome to the wonderful world of uncoordinated mayhem.
Modding: Infinite Fun (or Madness)
ARMA 3 has one of the most robust modding communities out there. Want to fight zombies? Done. Want to roleplay as a medieval knight in a tank? Go for it. Want to create an entire campaign where everyone’s a chicken? Weird, but possible. The Steam Workshop is like a giant toy box filled with chaos, creativity, and too much power for one person to handle.
The Humor: Unintentional but Priceless
ARMA 3 isn’t meant to be funny, but the bugs, miscommunications, and sheer absurdity of its complexity often result in comedy gold. You’ll laugh as:
Your squadmate accidentally parachutes into enemy territory and insists it was "part of the plan."
Someone miscalculates an artillery strike and blows up their own team.
You try to revive a downed friend, only to realize you’ve been healing a tree for the past two minutes.
The game’s realism amplifies these moments because there’s nothing like hearing a super-serious military commander lose it after being run over by a friendly helicopter.
Verdict: War Has Never Been This Hilarious (or Painful)
ARMA 3 isn’t for everyone. It’s for those who like their games with a side of suffering, strategy, and the occasional burst of slapstick comedy. If you’re willing to invest time (and a small part of your sanity), it’s one of the most rewarding gaming experiences out there.
Score: 9/10
One point deducted for the physical therapy your fingers will need after a marathon session.
Arma 3 is the game where you feel like a military mastermind... until you accidentally blow up your entire squad with a grenade you didn’t mean to throw. The map is so big, you’ll get lost in five minutes, and that’s before you step on a landmine. Want to command a tank? Congrats, you’ll drive it off a cliff instead. Realism is off the charts, so is your incompetence.
Pro tip: Don't try driving anything. It will explode.
kinda mid, optimization is shit, so are the graphics.
maybe it will run good, when rgbtx16060 releases, at full 60 fps in 1080p.
didnt play much.
10/10
game of the century
I've had great fun with this. I've tried getting into arma since arma 2 because of DayZ and never really got into it because it was way too complicated. Arma 3 really simplified a lot of the mechanics from older games while mantaining what makes arma, arma. Also loved the campaign so, even without the multiplayer, I've had a great time with it ^^
Optional DLC's are optional, and the others are not needed for singleplayer but most mp servers require them so I'd recommend getting the Ultimate Edition if an offer it's available.
The best milsim game, lots of workshop content, hopefully the next arma should be included with eden editor. Its very crucial for us that like to make our own scenario. Lots of possibilities, wonderful game, if it possible they should update the arma 3 engine to make at least it not causing to much fps drop even on a light scenario.
Absolutely interesting game , lots of mods and game modes to play from , highly recommend it :D
Greatest Military Simulator-based sandbox game, where you can make your dream battles, adventures and DnD sessions as Game Master/Zeus come true.
Wanna fight against Soviet Union during Winter War? There is a mod for that.
Wanna fight against the horrors of far future and burn them with purifying flames as a Imperial Guardsman? There is a mod for that.
Wanna execute the 'Order 66'? There is a mod for that.
Wanna finally settle that age old question: 'Which faction would win'? There are tons and tons of mods just to do that.
Be sure to explore the DLC's during sales, some of them are not that great or polished.
Great game, fun multiplayer, and and mods make the fun even better.
This game is great for casual, semi serious, and hard core military simulation players.
The only issue i have, in order to use every weapon and attachments you need to purchase the dlcs. Best option is to purchase everything during a steam sale
Overall a very janky game with a lot of different mechanics barely put together with duct tape. While it can be fun sometimes, more often than not it makes for a very frustrating experience.
controls are confusing but you can fight in basically any army (e.g., Galactic Empire, Starship Troopers, Imperial guard from 40k)
great game, great mutliplay and campinge

first time playing arma, got given a M60 and told to shoot anything that moves.

2800 hours of single-player ARMA 3.
I mean, I have a family, a job, friends, a live. I don't know how I managed to sink that many hours of gameplay into this game. This is my favorite single-player game ever (and I am playing computer games for more than 35 years).
I can not rate the multi-player aspect of ARMA 3, just because I do not have the flexibility to be a regular in a community. ARMA 3 is not Battlefield where you can match up with strangers to have mindless fun for an hour. ARMA deserverse more. It deserves being played with a group that you know and that you can trust.
As for single-player, the possibilites are endless. You just want a quick fight before going to the gym? No problem. There are ton's of scenarios out there and setting up a fight in the editor is no rocket science. You want a more involved mission? No problem. Lot's of missions and dynamic mission generators are out there, with Dynamic Recon Ops still being my favorite.
But for me, ARMA shines when you are going on a long term mission. Be it an whole island war head to head with helis, jets, tanks, infantry, or an assymetric war where you are the invading force going against the lokal "terrorists" and try to install "peace". Or the other way around, where you start as a bunch of freedom fighters that try to fight their oppressors and liberate your country. In these modes I spend weeks on one playthrough.
Don't let you turn away from comments, that the AI enemies makes for no fun gameplay, or that your AI teammates can not be controlled. Configure the AI in the options, install one or two AI mods, learn how to really control your AI teammates and you are good to go.
If you are a single-player like me, buy the base game and at least the Apex DLC, play the base game missions and then go to YouTube and watch videos about essential mods to play with. Play scenarios by other peoples or go look for scenario generators like GlobalOps, ALiVE, Antistasi Ultimate, Ravage, Dynamic Recon Ops or RIS.
This is worth to play if you like war simulators. Many different mods gives a big replayability that returns you to this game alone or with friends. No matter wether you like PvE or PvP, once you got in this game, it will be hard to take you out from it, even if you will have longer break periods between gaming Arma, you will be back ;)
Good game love everything about it. However, all of the server near me that is low ping is empty (no player). All of the server that has player is far from me and the ping is 200+, so I can't really enjoy the game.
very fun game had a blast with other people and with the mods everyone created
This is an incredible game - you can look up all the amazing things that it has...
But the reason I dont recommend this game is because the community (or at least what i have seen so far) is a bunch of sad, sadistic, apologetic and lifeless people out there.
After asking a teammate what a "CSAT" is I got called a bunch of names and they responded (an admin) with
"I hope your mother gets r***ed.
This game is awesome for the game, but avoid public servers.
its fun and rather realistic but i got it to play warhammer 40k, if you do as well it is incredibly confusing to find modded servers with good ping, and downloading the required mods takes hours, without being part of a larger unit like Ignis Corp that organizes events for playing modded its not worth it
Immersive and Realistic Gameplay: "Arma 3" excels in providing a highly immersive and realistic combat experience. This keeps the experience fresh and constantly evolving.

One of the best open world shooter that I've played with. It's fun simulating and repeatedly trying different ways to approach the missions/scouting.
editor is the best part of the game which constitutes all the endless fun and customization, no wonder people use this to make fake war footage its too realistic for realz. very good game. would recommend to bored people.
arma 3 offers a level of realism that is unmatched in military shooters. the tactical depth, large open-world maps, and variety of vehicles make it a unique experience for strategy lovers. :)
14 hours in tutorials only just to see that getting into a game is impossible unless you buy a bunch of DLCs. Campaign is... dated.
If this game had more players it would be fantastic or just a little more user friendly.
I have played Arma 3 for a long time. It didn't feel right to make comments on the game for a long time because I'm rather biased. To say it simply... This is my favorite game.
I've played Arma 3 for a long time. I've been in so many different units and played so many different gamemodes. I enjoy many aspects of this game, my personal favorite of which being to Zeus. This game has one of the toughest learning curves of any game known to man. I get that. However, once you make it past that, this game has some of the Highest Highs of fun that you can have out of a videogame.
I recommend this game for everyone to try, for it is possible to find a community that you mesh well with, that you spend time with, that takes much of your free time, because you love hanging out with them. I've found my places, not every one is perfect. I know this, people in the communities know it. Yet I still go back, week by week.
Despite any changes in my life that have occured since I bought the game back in late 2014, a year after the game came out. I've made my way through this game, I've found a place to call home on multiple occassions. I recommend all to try for this game has nigh infinite possibilities.
There's something that you can enjoy in this game, you just gotta find it.
This is such a creative and flexible game. Even though it is an old game the mods keep it current and fun. There are glitches and crashes but overall it still is a good time.
i like making ai battles and seeing maps people make. thanks dad for getting this for me
Great game even in 2024, theres nothing better than Koth. Yes it has bugs, but it is an older game and still beats most of these arcade shooters popular now.
Please Bohemia, give us an Arma 4 with great scripting and modding support on a less buggy engine :D.
ARMA 3 is the peak of military simulation games. Simply put there are no others quite like it.
Mod support is great, sound design is peak, and gameplay is fun. I highly recommend buying this game if you're into milsim, or just want some casual fun with friends, there are a lot of missions to choose from on the workshop, but if you want to create a mission the game has a really well made scenario creator/editor.
Combat Sim..
This is such a good game and with everything that the developers have put into this you can tell they cared for it. It is in all of the sense of a combat simulator making sure that you have your team and they are equipped properly to make sure that you complete your mission and get out with all of your gear and your personnel. The realism that you feel playing this game will make you question what is going on. Now that they have made so many games like this and have put out on the market trying to match what this is. This game and the maps is very time consuming trying to get to your destination. It is very much of a grind and a learning curve if you have not played these types of games before, just be prepared for that.

I've only played singleplayer content in Arma 3 because the online community is WAYYYY too complicated to get into. However, I believe Arma 3 is still great for solo players. The campaigns that come with the game and DLC are alright, but the real Arma 3 experience is when you get into the mods.
There are mods that generate entire operations for you too play solo or with AI allies. Some mods put you in unique scenarios like having to put together a milicia to liberate an entire island from an oppressive regime or having to survive in a warzone by scavenging all your gear from zero. There are also tons of weapon mods and gear mods for those who love to customize their loadouts and build cool-looking guns.
It's the best sandbox for people who like milsim stuff. If that's you, Arma 3 is probably in your library already.
I had this in my library and neglected it a lot. Decided to pick it up and play with mods after seeing some youtubers play AntiStasi. By far my favorite mod and I've been having loads of fun. The campaign is also good too.
graphics are stuning and game is good mecanics
The king of shooters.
DISCLAIMER: If you are impatient, or have a low attention span, this game is not for you. Go back to the small arena kill-box shooters.
Arma3 adds on to its predecessors with new mechanics and other improvements that work well for anyone wanting to play a great cooperative shooter.
Do note, if you don't have a group to play with, or don't want to find one to play with, you should probably skip this game, because singleplayer is a joke in this game.
Arma3 is a simulator, which means victory is about formations and cooperative strategy, not diving through a window shooting two pistols akimbo style and tanking large numbers of bullets.
