This game is in a terrible state. Nothing but skin gamblers, bot farmers, and millions of cheaters still playing.
Full of cheaters, Anti-Cheat doesn't work, Not Optimized, full of bugs,The mechanics are faulty and many more.... .
Bring Back CS:GO. It doesn't worth it to play.
Too many wall hack cheaters!!!!!!!!! The game is nice and all but its not really nice when u get into a match with wallhackers. There has to be a good anti cheat out there!!!!
Pros:
1. Improved Graphics: The Source 2 engine elevates the visuals significantly. Maps feel more alive with better lighting, textures, and environmental details, while still maintaining the clean design essential for competitive gameplay.
2. Responsive Gunplay: The core mechanics feel as sharp as ever, with weapon handling and recoil delivering that signature CS experience. It’s satisfying and skill-intensive, rewarding precision and practice.
3. Dynamic Smoke Grenades: The new volumetric smokes are a game-changer. They react to gunfire, grenades, and the environment, adding new layers of strategy to every round.
4. Enhanced Matchmaking: A better ranking system and reduced wait times make finding matches easier and more enjoyable.
5. Free Upgrade for CS:GO Players: Valve offers Counter-Strike 2 as a free upgrade for CS:GO owners, ensuring the player base transitions smoothly.
Cons:
1. Optimization Issues: While the visuals are stunning, some players report performance drops even on high-end hardware. Optimization needs further tweaking.
2. Lack of New Content: At launch, the game primarily updates existing CS:GO maps and mechanics rather than introducing substantial new content, leaving some players wanting more.
3. Cheating Concerns: Despite Valve’s anti-cheat improvements, the game still faces issues with hackers, particularly in casual and lower-ranked matches.
4. Steep Learning Curve: As with its predecessors, Counter-Strike 2 is not beginner-friendly. New players might struggle with the mechanics and the unforgiving nature of competitive play.
5. Community Issues: Toxicity remains a significant problem, especially in public lobbies and lower-ranked matches.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely, especially for fans of competitive FPS games. Just make sure you have the patience (and a good team) to survive the grind!
A Great Game Stifled by Cheaters and Underwhelming Updates
Counter-Strike 2 offers thrilling FPS action with tight gunplay and competitive gameplay, but cheaters have become a major issue, ruining the experience for honest players. The game’s anti-cheat system struggles to keep up, leading to frustrating encounters with aimbots and wallhackers. This undermines the integrity of the competitive scene and drives many players away.
The recent Armory update, meant to breathe new life into the game, falls flat. Instead of delivering meaningful content, it feels like a shallow cash grab with overpriced skins and little to no impactful gameplay changes. The updates increasingly prioritize monetization over player experience, making it harder for dedicated fans to stay invested in a game that’s losing its charm. The game's potential is still there, but the cheater problem and disappointing updates are slowly ruining it.
A good game, but due to a bad anti-cheat, it is impossible to play it((
Nah man the brain rot you get is immaculate plus a loads of hackers in matchmaking. The game is fun to play but if you really wanna play you can play on faceit servers much better.
this game will change ur perspective towards life plz dont play this game!!!!!
This game used to bee so good, im talking abt cs1.6 and csgo, cs2 is a complete failure, except for graphics, they are really good, but hitboxes and bullets suck, hopefully they will fix this game for once.
The previous game was much better than this. 128 tick servers for matchmaking and a better anti-cheat was the only things that players wanted but they came up with legs and 3D smokes. awful shooting, awful movement, awful game.
I cant recommend CSGO2.... The amount of cheaters in every game... even casuals, makes the whole experience a big NO NO... Wallhackers, aimbots, its impossible to have fun.
full of cheaters on new accounts even with prime enabled. no spin botters since they updated server side detection more wallers and aimbot with magic bullet has been infesting comp.
I have never had a worse experience than playing this game. The solo queuing is horrendous and the ranking system is broken beyond repair. I went from 17000+ elo and dropped to 5.5k and have no chance of climbing back as my teammates have an IQ lower than the cockroaches that roam their rooms. Please turn the original counter strike global offensive servers on. I have valve and their anti cheat system and their ability to make fun mulitplayer games. I hope that every person working on this game finds a new job and that the game shuts down.
Bring Back VAC. CS:GO was a true gem, CS2 update turned this game into a cash grab and a frustration to play anymore.
I'll try to keep the salt out of this one:
First of all. I've been playing Counter Strike since the age of bulky PC monitors. Bulky as dishwashers. And mice had balls in them (no pun intended). I always loved the competition.
Hackers:
There are way too many hackers around. While they are getting kicked at casual games, they are NOT getting kicked at competetive/premier games. Throwing a game because a hacker is in your team does not happen. At all!
Connection:
I pay top money to get high speed / low ping (4ms) connection. However this seems to be completely useless in CS2. When playing against bad pings (80ms and more), you do not win most of your peaks and sometimes even die before you can spot the enemy. Frustrating to say the least. And maybe proof, that the tick-system does not work.
All in all, I am disappointed to say that Counter Strike is broken.
CS2? More like CSPOO 🤮
CS2 is a terrible direct replacement of CS:GO. It still doesn't have many of the maps and gamemodes that CS:GO had, and it's been a year since it's disastrous release. For the maps, all they'd have to do is port them overrr WTFF. I don't care if the maps still have CS:GO graphics, I and many others just want to play them again. 😭 The main thing they've been focusing on in the very few updates since release has been further monetization, they barely give a fuck about making the game as good as CS:GO was, even though they killed CS:GO (their masterpiece) to overwrite it with CS2, the very rushed supposed "newer and better" version of CS:GO. All they did was make the game prettier, but that barely matters when there is only a few of the maps and gamemodes from before, and the gameplay is worse. AND ALL THE HUNDREDS OF UNIQUE STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS FROM CS:GO ARE GONEEE. ALL THE ONES I SPENT HOURS GRINDING, WTF NEW VALVE. And Valve holding off fixing the bot problem in TF2 that had been plaguing the game for more than five years until finally only a couple months ago when the community made a petition with over 340 thousand people signing it is so shitty, I think they're forgetting they're a game company. Do they even care about their games at this point? If so, barely. I can go on for much longer yapping about their blatant laziness and lack of care for their own games and their respective communities. Screw what Valve has become, MAKE COUNTER-STRIKE GREAT AGAIN.
I was actually so hyped for Counter-Strike 2's release, I loved Valve, but then I realized CS2 was dogshit and that Valve doesn't give a fuck about their games anymore. Replacing one of their greatest masterpieces with a massive downgrade in every aspect other than the graphics, smh.
CS:GO was what I fell in love with, not whatever this is. My favorite gamemode, Flying Scoutsman... I won't forget you. Great job Valve 👏 great job fumbling this shit on a level no one has seen before, except maybe with Overwatch 2. I will never forget the hell of a time I've had playing CS:GO, my favorite FPS game. Thank you Valve for giving me the chance to meet so many other hilarious and goated people playing the game that I loved most. But please, don't forget to think about your community and listen to us. I truly believe CS:GO was better than Valorant, but CS2 is most definitely not. For Christ's sake bring CS:GO back, and if you don't, maybe consider bringing back all the features that CS:GO had before you start adding a ton more paid cosmetics, that's basically all you've done in the past year of updates. Why'd you have to force everyone from CS:GO to switch to CS2, CS:GO was a meticulously crafted game that was still owned by you, so why didn't you let people continue playing CS:GO and just make CS2 it's own separate game? Then people could've continued enjoying CS:GO and feeding you money while you get CS2 in a more acceptable and complete state, worthy enough for more people to then switch over from CS:GO to CS2. You've never directly replaced your games with a sequel like this before, why did you do that now when it's clearly a terribly poor decision. You could've just make CS2 a separate game and when someone unlocks cosmetics in CS:GO, it'd also unlocks them in CS2, and you could have CS2 exclusive cosmetics. Please stop killing your games along with your reputation Valve. Don't just make Counter-Strike great again, make Valve great again. Gotta say, Valve you're killing it with the VR gear and the Steam Deck, but could you please show your games a little more love? They deserve it, and we do too. Love your new "Major Update" on November 13th btw, so glad to finally see only one of the many classic maps left behind added back from CS:GO into CS2, what a major update thanks :) Took more than a full year but that's okay. One map returning is such great progress. And thanks for all the community maps as well, I know it's very difficult to re-release all of your own maps, thank god for the community mappers still making some actual content for you to release :D Maybe you should start hiring them again like you used to do way back when? Could help to fix and finish your game you know, just a suggestion. "We're happy to announce the return of the momentarily lost classic, Train." Wow, "momentarily lost" is a year in your eyes. Crazy. Valve time sure is real. We gonna start a #FixCS2? Guess it should be more of a #FinishCS2. Come on now, this game is seriously lacking in content, especially when compared to CS:GO, the game you replaced with this shit. Now I'm just repeating myself. Yap session over.
Ranking system is not worth playing also they took off fun map in rank yes the game look a little bit better but they change it too much
CounterStrike: Where the only thing more reliable than your terrible aim is the endless cheaters spinning around like they’re auditioning for Dancing with the Stars. You’ll learn real fast that the only thing more accurate than your gunshots are the cheaters aimbots, which somehow always seem to have perfect aim. But hey, at least you’ll get to experience the sweet, sweet thrill of a game where everything looks fine until you die in 0.1 seconds to someone who’s clearly not from this dimension. But don’t worry, Valve’s totally on it. I’m sure they’re working hard on that anti cheat system. Any day now. In the meantime, enjoy getting headshot by a guy who’s both floating and twerking through the map.
10/10 would totaly throw my keyboard across the room again.
Never start playing this game! It's like a toxic relationship: spend money, get mad and aggressive, quit, and then come right back to repeat the cycle once again because you cling to that one or two happy memories you've had with the game.
Just buy Animal Crossing or Minecraft or something. That sh*t is actually good for your mental health.
fantastic game. Just needs to work on, cheating, movement, matchmaking, networking, community maps, cheating, anti-cheat, maps that have been gone for years. cheating. and add back signatures to trade ups
Spend Hundreds by Accident, You are Always Best Player and its Always teams fault that you lost or ping. Its definetly not your 300 damage in whole match. You are Always enjoying to play with Russian players, and they enjoy playing with Polish players. You are shooting head but not even touching him even if his whole head moved and blood came out. Sometimes you even not hitting him at all but it counts as headshots. Well its physics haha. Enjoy your day!
10/10
Great game , took my 27 hrs time played to realise its not just a gambling game , there's shooting!
if you want to have fun then dont ever play this fucking game. It's full of cheaters for a 10+ years game. it's just sooooooooooo bad broooooooooooooooooo. what is the use of the report button really. I want to know. Its useless.
Valve clearly doesn't give a damn about players. As long as cheaters will buy armory passes, they won't fix the anticheat system. Fk you valve. You're just a bunch of jews
Alright, I've been playing CS since 1.6. I know CS:GO had a rough first year after release, but CS2 really is something else. As someone that used to do tournaments and events with a team as a former semi-pro back in the day, this game has steered so far to terrible that it's just not worth wasting time on until it's in a proper playable state. It's a shell of what once was one of the most optimised FPS's out there and many other current pro players and former pro players will tell you the same thing. If you have a ping above 20, forget about it. The glitches, the cheaters, the lack of network utilisation, the lack of support for content creators, the deceit etc.. There's just so much wrong with this game right now. This review may change later, but I'm dead sick of trying to enjoy it as it once was. Perhaps it's my fault for moving over to Starlink, perhaps I'm getting old, or perhaps the years beforehand were my imagination, but no, it's not the case because others have the exact same issues and it seems Valve has turned a blind eye to them.
Its scamy that they keep the reviews from GO and add the playtime from GO too. Its alot worse then CSGO and there is basically 0 content after more then a year
If you want to try spinbot, aimbot, wallhack, triggerbot then this game is best for you.
Clean gameplay?? Go play faceit.
Pathetic money hungry devs
Poor optimization, cheater everywhere. quit since cs go, came back at cs 2 just to see the game in a worst state. 0/10, would rather revert the game back to cs go so i can at least play its custom community map
Great game but needs a lot of improvements like, better anti-cheat and overall gun physics because shots are not consistant.
making billions while releasing nothing but shitty cosmetic updates and not actually fixing the absolute fuckery of a game they released 3 years before it should have been? where do i sign up
Counter-Strike 2 has been heavily impacted by hackers, with players frequently encountering wallhacks, aimbots, and other cheats, especially in competitive matches. Valve’s updated anti-cheat system hasn’t quite managed to control these issues, which can make some games frustrating. On the positive side, CS2 brings updated graphics, more realistic smoke physics, and smoother gunplay that add a lot to the classic experience. If Valve can effectively handle the hacking problem, CS2 has the potential to shine. Until then, it’s an exciting but sometimes flawed experience for fans.
Current game state is a joke. Valve adds skins and new ways to spend money but there is no working Anti-cheat, game has terrible bugs and problems in almost every aspect
Nothing works there. I have 600 hours and playing againts players that has 10 year badge and 3.5k hours. It is doesnt fair and i dont recommend it.
Trash ass game, full of bots, hackers and bad optimization. I play because i am addicted... not because the game is good.
Very fun game but the mechanics are not like CS:GO, they don't feel as smooth but it's still good. Really like the new things Valve is doing with the armory pass and all that, it allows people to profit from the skins that they earn
The worst successor to a game I have ever seen. The decision makers at Valve suck hard for ignoring the integrity and stability of a competitive game
it could just be so much better...
1. This game still has so much cheaters... I wonder how literally every other shooter uses softwares that spot cheaters and cs is just FULL OF CHEATERS. At least support the overwatch system more....
2. Bring back bots when player leave NOT get kicked. There are so many leavers that just get half hours penalties and mess up the grind.
3. How tf did Cs2 manage to just take away the prime status from people that earned it through playing before that just seems greedy af
4. Finally bring back fun modes like flying scouts or missions, we got the arsenalpass without any missions or coop missions
5. Pls bring back oldschool maps at least for casual play
6. You just reworked the whole Prime Competetive system without making the ranks on the single maps transparent, i just won 40 rounds on mirage and im still silver elite master and i got a win chance of like 80% that makes no sense to me since i was MG on my old acc...
If valve installs a proper anti cheat and stops with battle passes the game would be much better. Game is 9/10, however until the fix the anti cheat and put back the gamemodes they took away im giving the game a 5/10
This game will end friendships, break desks, and leave you feeling frustrated, tilted, swearing and sweating whilst you delete it only to reinstall an hour later.
Game 10/10
Valves input since release 2/10
New update has significant packet loss and framerate issues not present on previous updates rendering game unplayable at times. When Valve puts all of their development effort into lootboxes and nothing into playability, why bother playing?
With over 10 years and 3,000 hours playing Counter Strike, I would not advise investing into this game. It is inaccurate to combine the positive ratings from CS:GO with recent ratings of CS2, as these steam reviews currently are. Since the launch of CS2, we have taken several steps backwards which all together incrementally add up to a subpar experience with no line of sight to resolution.
When moving to CS2, we have lost game modes (i.e Danger Zone), while others have become BOT farming centers not viable for actual play (i.e Casual). Community server game modes do not work as they did in GO (KZ - Movement inconsistencies remain, Surf - Player models clip into edges and dont travel properly). Valve has not addressed these concerns a year into this new iteration.
It would be unfair to note the issue of cheating and the inability for VAC to curb them. As much as an issue this remains, it existed in GO and will likely always exist in competitive FPS games. What is unfortunate is that the most competitive gamemode supported by the developer, Premier, has these problems while other competitor games offer more intrusive anti-cheat solutions for those that desire the competitive experience. For this reason, third party vendors like FACEIT remain the best place for proper competitive play.
In CSGO, these third party companies also hosted better servers with better response times (128 vs 64 tick). However, in CS2, support for 128 tick was entirely removed as develops do not want to support it. At face value, understandable, developers choice. However, after a year of development on CS2, Valve remains unable to meet the expectations of the player base on game and server quality. Many players were patient, understanding the development for GO took a long time get right. Some remain patient, but we still have no line of sight to resolution timelines.
Moreover, recent updates have had a significantly negative impact on performance. FPS drops and networking issues make the game less enjoyable. Many people smarter than me can properly explain the reasons for this, but i shouldn't need a degree in computer science and a deep understanding of networking and all the technical settings within the game in order to be able to play properly. Developers and/or other community members attributing these issues to poor internet is unfair when these issues didn't exist before the update, in GO, or currently in any other competitive FPS game.
The straw that breaks the camels back - Valve has also taken a further step to over-monetize CS2. I have been of the belief for some time that Valve has put more emphasis on the skin economy and collectable cosmetics than the quality of the game which brought value to these cosmetics in the first place, but it comes as a slap in the face to take extra steps to earn more while not only failing to address game quality issues, but by actively doing changes to decrease performance and make the experience less enjoyable.
For these reasons, CS2 is not a game i can justify putting my time into any further, Any cosmetics of value i had were sold off, and my time and attention will be moving to other games.
TLDR: Since the release of CS2, the game hasnt been brought back to the standards set by Go. Updates decrease performance and make the game not fun. Valve has taken their already predatory monetization approach a step further instead of focusing on game issues. Do not recommend at this time.
only updating the game to further monetise it while there is no effective anti-cheat in sight and it's in this state is egregious
The worst game in the world. 0% implication of the staff, shit networking, shit gameplay, shit servers, lag everywhere on the map. DO NOT PLAY THIS CRAP !!!!!!!!!!!!
Update has absolutely busted my game with packet loss. No its not my rig, no its not my internet. I've never had these problems with any other game, and never had this problem with this game until now.
The amount of cheating is ridiculous. Valve doesn't care. They just keep putting out stupid features that no one asked for and ignoring what their players really need.
fucking cash cow dumb game. Bring back community browser, bring back surf, bring back overwatch, bring back spectate.
Why would you release a replacement for CS:GO, but remove so many features and not make it a separate game? I have to jump through hoops to go back to csgo..
Recent update is the worst update in recent memory. Added no real content, just skins and greediness.
bugs, cheaters, poor and broken rating system, money grab updates, no actual content
Counter Strike was once a great game, still good, but too bad its full of cheaters and scammers.
Anti cheat system is a joke. This game would be amazing, if it was free of cheaters and scammers.
After nearly 8,000 hours in cs:go, I think it's only fair to commit to saying that I am thoroughly disappointed with CS2. The game has taken the gripping core concept of a counter-strike game, and built around it with the primary goal of building esports and cosmetic frameworks to generate revenue. There have been numerous requests for changes that should have been prioritized, with no exaggeration, since 2015. Anti-cheat and tickrate have been eschewed to spend time developing cosmetics and designing gameplay within the skins economy rather than engaging with the gameplay of the core game. And with all this extra revenue, you really can't afford 128 tick, even just for premier or paying premier players?
The disrespect the continued non-development of the game itself reflects upon the community and the spirit that keeps the game alive should long ago have fractioned the playerbase, but the way back has been walled off by removing csgo from steam (possibly one of the most dishonest, anti-consumer moves i've ever seen). There is nothing honest going on at valve when it comes to cs2, and nothing elevating this game beyond a general shooter other than the allowance from valve for us measly customers to still interact with the core mechanics of counter-strike. perhaps they'll slowly sculpt this game into something decent, but the philosophy and principles pushing the counter-strike project at valve have long since left the realm of mechanics and passion for greener* pastures.
