Fun short Rpg. worth checking out
I've played for about 2.5 hours at this point...but it feels like 10. I bought the game on super sale for $2 and it's the only reason I'm not furious. The main flaw of the game is that it's just too small. The world is small, the enemy list is small, the number of locations is under-developed. Decisions rarely impact anything. Night mode is just stupid... all of the people out during the day are still there. There's almost no "sneaking" involved. It's just a boring grind in a boring game that could have been SO much better. 2/5 stars
very cute! they made me kill an iga delegate though, and i feel really bad about it (was there another way?)
One of the RPGMaker hidden gems I've played in a while. While the combat is just your typical RPG Mechanic, I like the smooth, cute visuals and the casual feel to it. It's engaging without me feeling lost or helpless whenever I'm stuck.
At first I thought this was going to be a great retro kind of game, however a lot of the time it is difficult to figure out what you're supposed to do next. Some of the in game text can be misleading and make it virtually impossible to progress.
In the end, because of the difficulty moving forward in the game, it becomes very boring very fast. A waste of time and money.
Fun gameplay, well made sprites and creator himself reacted to a message of me.
Worth the money and also available as mobile game for android.
This wasn't a really long game. However I thoroughly enjoyed it all the way through. A thing of taste maybe.
It's a real RPG Maker game - nothing fake. Unique story, unique environment, sounds, gots it all. Not amazing but worth it. I like variety of games more than difficult games before bedtime?
This is 8-bit style and a particular taste of very distinct story and character you will either really enjoy or may not have a taste for.
RPGMaker game. You are an Iga ninja/spy sent to get close to Oda Nobunaga and learn all you can. Upon arrival, though, you find that things are not all that they seem. Will you continue your mission? Or will other loyalties start to grow? And can you get out of this alive either way?
Decent for its price.
A hidden-gem game with a humorous story (reminded me of Horrible Histories) featuring murder, conspiracy, power struggles, spying/infiltration/working undercover, backstabbing, frontstabbing, lots of stabbing in general, literal cloak and dagger, multiple endings, a ninja protagonist, pixelly enemies so cute (especially ashigaru) you feel (sort of) bad for killing them, ample grinding opportunities (the province is teeming with wolves, bears, and bandits), a shady get-rich-quick investment scheme that works, day/night cycle with weather changes (rain is great for dramatic effect), and equippable omamori.
Pretty fun indie RPG with a feudal Japan theme.
very cool!
I enjoy playing this game, just beat it.. will be playing it again to see if I can get different storyline.. I love the combat system, it remind me of old rpg like Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy series.
Interesting RPG and I can't stop playing it until I finish it once.
Pros:
- Story helps player to keep on playing. Not a ton of dialog so things get dragged on, but good enough to present a nice short story. A good pace.
- The graphic (I mean pixel characters) makes me feel back in the days and I'd say fitting with the atmosphere and historic theme of the game.
- Multiple ways to finish quests, sometimes with different varieties of rewards.
- Instructions are minimal (don't need to go through an hour of tutorial to play this).
- Interesting monster encounter system that makes sense (walk on road you meet bandits, walk on grass you meet beasts).
- Multiple endings are definitely a plus.
- Small but vital character customization adds in variety of battle tactics and replay value.
- NPCs sometimes provide nice background of the game.
- The font fits the game background nicely.
- Some grinding was done, but not much is needed to proceed with the storyline.
- Game still has potential to fit in more content. (might be just me, but I found some unique NPCs had no quests, or maybe I didn't trigger them right)
- Game is not very expensive.
- Some easter egg references to anime.
- Environments change (day/night, sun/rain) NPC behavior and dialog.
- Player status changes NPC behavior.
Cons:
- You will need some serious grinding if you want to get the best weapon.
- Numbers are sometimes harder to differentiate (due to font).
- Ring slot kind of useless at the moment (I didn't find any equipable ring in my first playthrough).
- No dash (but isn't really needed).
- This is probably the RPGMaker engine's problem, but in full screen mode sometimes graphic feels a bit off (kinda of like 0.1 second late or something when character moves around). Use max enlarge window rather than full screen should make it better.
