If I’ve become the person I am today, I owe it to Undertale. I first came across this game when I was a middle schooler, and its world pulled me in so deeply that I started seeing the characters as parts of myself (except Jerry!!! I hate you Jerry). The friendships and experiences I gained from the Undertale fandom became one of the main things that shaped my life.

Toby Fox crafted the music, characters, story, and emotions of the game in such a way that they blend seamlessly with the player’s own feelings. The first time I played, I genuinely felt like I was living in that universe. Without any doubt, I can say Undertale is a flawless work of art.

Don’t be fooled by the 2 hours recorded on my profile, I spent countless hours playing a pirated version of the game (so I can beat Sans whenever I want :] ) before eventually purchasing it on Steam out of respect for Toby Fox (and of course, to write this review).

Play Undertale, make others play it as well.

Anyone who has even touched video games NEEDS to play this absolute piece of art of a game.I literally cannot describe this game with words, it is that good. As im writing this review i am listening to my playlist of this game's music, that could be the first point of this game, the music is actually so good. The music helps the game in many ways, weather it makes some areas of the game sound intense and epic, while others sound sad and nostalgic. Also the characters, you cant talk about undertale without the characters. The characters also have this balance of funny and serious, and I think this is what made the game popular in the first place. Last thing ima talk about is the story, to, not spoil anyone, it's actually insane. As i said, words cannot describe what you will feel playing this game. This game is literal PEAK and if you havent played it yet, then please do.

PEEK GAME, PEEK STORY, PEEK GAMEPLAY, THIS GAME WAS PEEK, I LOVED IT(this is my 5 time beating true pacifist btw, the first time on this computer on steam tho) i loved the desighns, and how your choices matterd and what not, the charecters are funny, and all have unique personalities, i cant wait for Deltarune (realeasing in 4/5 days from this reveiw)
Words cant describe how good this game is, even small secret less known dsuff, like if u buy spider donuts in the ruins, its way cheeper then in hotland. if u buy, you skip the muffet boss fight, little things like that is cool
even the refrence to deltarune, like how we will meet susie soon, or the promise in your heart letter from sans room.

I love this game, and the funny thing is, my two siblings have the same name as temmie and toby fix, just spelled diffrently even tho i lo0ve the story and whatnot, playing the game over and over unless its modded can get a bit boring and repetitive, but its short, so im not complaining! the game is nice.....yeah

This game has a lot to express. Sometimes, you have to do things you really don't want to do.
Sometimes, you must suppress your emotions and make choices that will help you move forward!
Sometimes, you have to sacrifice a lot to make progress.
And sometimes, you must befriend someone who was once your enemy!
JUST LIKE REAL LIFE.
Every moment in this game is incredibly surprising. you never know what will happen next!

One of the most influential games of the 21st Century, and just by taking old things and making them new with an amazing spin, there's so much depth to a story that can last you like 7 hours, multiple playthroughs and their lore are being discussed even today.

Truly a masterpiece of indie gaming.

this game does so much with so little its incredible
you don't need realism or a big file size to make something truly stick with someone, unlike a lot of AAA games.
only problem is you cant crack Toriel, so sadly I have to give this game a 1/10.

I recently just replayed the game with a multiplayer mod with a couple friends, sounds boring but its really funny totally recommend.

I really liked this game. Played it on front of friends who're were very shocked at the sheer amount of stuff i knew nothing about in this game. Interacted with everything i could, doing all the fun side stuff was really fun and silly and I'm very thrilled the humor has stood the test of time given this came out in a VERY rough year for humor not being at it's best.

While there're some characters i do not enjoy at all; however i am very pleased to say they're greatly overshadowed by the ones i do love. Each one being so distinct certainly helps bring out the best qualities of each other. Not to mention the other characters having their own relationship and dynamic with each other is always something I love to see expressed.

I don't even need to speak on the soundtrack, every song is a banger and even the silly "bad" songs are still full of care and talent. Never once did a song feel too repetitive for a boss fight or a given area. However the Annoying Dog Song might've not been the best song to have playing on stream while I went to get up and grab some food; I drove half the group insane.

But overall the gameplay is easy, not very challenging and fulfilling enough that by the end of the game I'm seasoned enough to not be too stressed out about the boss battles. So overall the experience was very relaxing and enjoyable.

I'm glad i got to see the what the hubbub was about and see that the actual game was as enjoyable as people said. That you didn't have to be some teenager with an easy rotten brain to actually take something away with this game. I recommend this as something everyone give a chance for themselves; Play with friends, play alone-- but I think it's important YOU play it for yourself.

Dont do what i did and not read the description of the game and kill everyone in their first play through. I was very confused

Toby Fox probably did not expect the amount of love and tears this game would bring to the players, since his own description to advertise the game is unserious—joking about dating skeletons and dogs appearances. Yet the simplicity of his production reached millions of hearts in a way few games ever do.

At first glance, Undertale seems like a quirky, retro-style puzzle game . But it quickly becomes something more—a story about kindness, choice, and the consequences of your actions. It doesn’t just let you spare your enemies; it makes you wonder why you would want to hurt them in the first place. And somehow, in its quietest moments, it reaches your heart in the gentlest way.

Soundtracks are fun, super fun, a little sad, heartwarming, nostalgic to many, and so much more. I have a hard time not getting mist-eyed over ost 071 of this game, simply titled “Undertale”. This simple melodious and heartfelt ost is how Undertale feels, and what Undertale is. I retreat my words from earlier, probably Toby DID know how moving this experience would be, it just seems right to assume so, why would the most soul-stirring ost that you cant just simply ignore the tears building up as you listen, share the name of the game?

I can’t believe this game is turning 10 years old this year, it takes me back so long ago, the old memes, the gameplays of many youtubers, people getting mad that Sans was hard to beat, the Amv’s, the AU’s, the AU’s soundtracks, the cringe OC’s that we used to meme about— you couldn’t escape the fandoms best and worst moments, I wonder if we were too judgmental on this cringey phase some in the fandom shared, we were younger, and much were just kids being kids that shared the same passion as the others.

Now we look back with a nostalgic feeling, and i intend to always remember this game for what it was, for what it meant to many and to me, for what it offered and delivered, a fun, heartwarming, inspiring, engaging and beautiful experience, that brought me laughter and tears equally, rage too for many hehe.

Ten years of history and an unforgettable game that will be in our hearts as long as time goes by. Thank you Toby Fox—forever.❤️

I just finished the True Pacifist route, and I am in TEARS. It is SO BEAUTIFUL. Words cannot describe the happiness and joy I get from this game. It has such a mix of jokes and feeling. Incredible.

Best İndie Game Ever. I did all the endings and i did my fav a ending second time and know what? i didnt get bored. This is so good. But the most important thing about the undertale: Toby is made this game all by himself. He made the OSTs, he made the characters and he made this game. Yes God Of War is better than Undertale but you cant compare God Of War to Undertale. And undertale lore's so big and good. And Undertale has so many Iconic Characters like "Sans". This is why Undertale is my fav game.

it's good, a bit too sickeningly quirky at times but tackles a very defining meta-based concept about how we treat games (even if I think there's a lot of obvious red herrings) and has laid out a product that still gets talked about and has an interesting world that has strong theories made to this day

Started off thinking it was a cute little indie game. Ten minutes in, a goat mom offered me pie and unconditional love. Adorable. Accidentally killed someone? Congrats, now you’re on the Neutral route™. Got the "I'm not mad, just disappointed" speech by a skeleton and emotionally manipulated by a flower. Great.

Cue a reset and with that, True Pacifist. Spared everyone, became besties with a tall skeleton, a tuna with anger issues, a reptilian monster, etc. Got adopted by a goat mom and emotionally destroyed by backstory and friendship speeches. 10/10 therapy session.

Naturally, knowing that every choice I did altered the game, I followed up by murdering everything and everyone. Welcome to the Genocide Route, where you commit atrocities against monsterkind and the music slaps way too hard for how morally bankrupt you are. I defeated a skeleton, so he naturally decided to take my sanity. The game judged me. It remembers - forever.

Tried to be nice again. A red-eyed child decided we’re sharing a save file now - they remember. Cue the Soulless Pacifist run, where although you do everything right, the game remembers. Dust is stuck onto my hands. It'll never leave them.

The flower still laughs.
The save file still breathes.
The pie’s still warm.

Since i was a kid, i watched hours and hours of undertale content, bossfights, playtroughs, comics ,ect... Yet i never had chance to play it, nor it ever came to my mind to try it. but now that i did, best 12h spent in my entire life

This game was one of the key factors that got me into game development. The fact that you can make such an amazing game that is written (as in code) so horribly should be a true motivation for every person that wants to start making games.

I've dedicated around 30 hours of my life to the switch version of this masterpiece and loved every second. Those initial 30 hours were spurred on by an around 2 and a half year obsession with everything Tobey and his fans had to offer, AUs and all.

This game is a pure masterpiece. From the music, gameplay, art style, and pure fun. This is the game for all sexy goat lady fans. Annoying Dog / 10. Would recommend~

I heard all these good things about this game. I heard that its a "must play" for everyone and that its the greatest game of all time. So one day, I bought the game and played it. Then I stopped playing. I was like "oh. This isnt fun to me". I didnt know why I didnt like it and how to fix it. Why did so many people like this game and why could I not enjoy any second of it?
I later realized that it wasnt my fault. It wasnt the games fault either though; undertale just isnt my type of game. Thats completely fine though!

Not the most engaging from purely gameplay perspective, but the lore, characters, music, artstyle and storytelling more than make up for it. The game has multiple endings, changing to the player's preferred playstyle. The game overall has a great way of telling the message: "It's okay to not solve everything through violence".

The game is getting close to 10 years old by now, and the characters, music and plot are still as amazing as it was in 2015.

I held my 100th review for this game specifically.

This game means everything to me and has been a major influence on who I am as a person.
I originally played Undertale in 2016, but I was pretty young and didn’t understand English at the time.

Coming back to it recently, it was nothing but pure nostalgia. Everything about it was amazing, and the endings were deeply emotional (the True Pacifist ending had me crying a little bit).

Thank you Toby Fox, for creating this masterpiece. You inspire me alot.

The fantastic music, unique combat style, compelling story, and memorable characters make it one of the best games I've ever played! If you're like I was before I wrote this review and haven't played it in the almost 10 years it's been out (happy anniversary by the way), I highly recommend doing so. Undertale is an amazing darling indie title. Its story is truly one of the best that I have seen portrayed in a video game. I highly suggest going into this game blind, or knowing the bare minimum, as it adds to the experience. Every character is written well, and the whole game is genuinely a masterpiece. This is one of the best video games I’ve ever played, and I would recommend to anyone who loves classic styled games, RPGs, and even platformers.

This game is by far the best game I have ever played-and I have played many, MANY games. The game's soundtrack is amazing. The gameplay is incredible. The characters are all unique and fun in their own cool ways. There are so many endings to get and it's so well made. I definetely would reccocmend this game to all players. 10/10.
