OneShot

I loved this game!! Its been so long since ive felt so delighted/ shocked by gameplay. The style was so cute and pretty, characters were so lovable, and ill miss my dear Niko!

I opned every game in my steam luibbabry and played all of the menu music at once. this game has the best menu misic, I decided this because it was the only one that i kepyt open at the end.

I may have only started this game because of Indie Cross, but man this was so peak. If I didn't play till 5 am, would have cried at the end. Nothing about the store page or indie cross could have prepared me for this experience. Highly recommend going in blind if possible.

My opinion

Absolutely loved this game, the story was amazing, but because I have a major skill issue when it comes to puzzle games, I had to use some guides. Once I originally beat the game I wanted to play it again to find out what happens if you destroyed the sun at the end of the game, but was not expecting a whole ass separate ending for the game, which made me almost tear up.

Its very hard to tell you why you should get this game in words alone so I'm just gonna ask you to stop looking at the reviews and buy the game, trust me this is an investment i'm sure you wont regret.

Saw this game on a video, though it was an amazing game. a year or so after that, I came across a OneShot video, i watched up until Niko arrived at The Glen, but i wanted to give the game a try, I bought the game and after finishing the entire game in 5 hours, i can say that this was the best game i've ever played in my life, 10/10
The story, the puzzles, the main idea! All of that makes this game different from the rest. I RECOMMEND PLAYING

This game is underrated. Not a new statement but its still true Its the only game i was near fully immersed in its story is just amazing.

Masterpiece 10/10

The gameplay connects player and character by making clues found outside the game. Highly participate and concentrate to the game that is able to complete first term of the game within 1 day.
It is a bit shorter than I thought but that means more time can be spent on achieving full achievement.

The art style and sound is impressive. Puzzles are creative and not difficult. The atmosphere is mysterious and calming.

Who like Omori or Undertale might like this game as well.

Probably the my best played game of 2025.

This game does not break the 4th wall, it doesn't have one to begin with. Absolutely deserves its incredible status among indie games. On par with Undertale, Deltarune, etc. Crashed a couple of times when exiting the game? no progress was lost.

This is by far one of my favorite games. The story is beautiful, and the puzzles are very well made and unique. I highly recommend this game!

The game makes us worry and care about Niko. I was genuinely worried when I found out that if you don’t put Niko to bed, it hurts Niko’s feelings. This game has a powerful emotional effect, if you truly understand it.

A fragile, beautiful world — and a story where Niko must save it, but cannot do it alone. The player, a godlike presence, becomes Niko’s guide and only hope. Together, they journey through a fading land, and in the end, the player must make a heartbreaking choice that decides Niko’s fate. The endings are very well done and beautifully break the fifth fourth wall. (No major spoilers, just general impressions!)

This game is amazing
I don't usually write reviews, especially long ones, but this game was so good and touching, i could not resist not writing a review after such a good game.

Barrens

This start of the game was super good, while the start was super boring and very cloudy with little to no info on what to do, you get comfortable with it after a few quests. the crafting in the game is SUPER flexible, i looked at a gameplay video, and saw people having items i never saw before. Every part of the game feels alive, with robots, and everyone in the entire game feeling like they have a lot of personality and charm, with some robots even following you, so that you get to your destination safely.

Glen

This was one of the best areas in the game, competing with Refuge , with it having many characters that felt alive, this part resonates with me a lot, being one of the most impactful areas in the game, having characters like Alula and Calamus , not to mention my favourite character Maize . Glen was one of my favourite area's in the entire game, having resonated with me a lot and having the most life. The puzzles are nothing short of simple but hard to understand especially if you are lost in that area, having NOT done a second playthrough this area will be one that i will cherish the most.

Refuge

This area was the most fun, having the best puzzles, and having the most emotionally connected characters in the game. Like any other area in the game this one was the most confusing by far, but you also reapt the reward of exploring a completely new area you haven't seen before and interacting with characters in it. This area was the best, with Niko interacting with YOU for most of this area. My most memorable moment in the game was when Niko went back into the cafe to get some pancakes, and when talking about her mom, she started crying, remembering the pancakes she made for Niko.

Extras

I remember when i saw the games description, and thought "wow gameplay mechanics that go beyond the game window? i gotta get it." And i dont regret a single cent. I was looking for a game that had more of that Undertale feeling, and that Doki Doki "scouring throught your computers files" feeling that i have not gotten since i played through the original Doki Doki. Absolute banger of a game. And if you have read this far, i suggest you DONT watch any playthrough video, and go in this game completely blind.

And remember, you have OneShot

Genuinely such an experience of a game. It's super immersive, and some of the puzzles are extremely clever. I cannot recommend this game enough, it's an experience that you'll never forget.

This is one of the best games I've ever played.

I don't usually leave Steam reviews, but I feel like I need to leave one here. I played OneShot for the first time blind 9 months ago, and it's stuck with me so much that I often find myself coming back to stare at the Steam page, or listening to the soundtrack and reminiscing on the game. I even bought a second copy on Switch just to experience it again.

Get this game. Go in with as little information as possible. The less you know, the better. When you open OneShot for the first time, you become a part of the world--in more ways than one. The characters are lovable, the music is iconic, and the story is so beautiful you'll just wish there was more once it's over. I can't stress enough how amazing this game is, even with how short it is. The world will reward you for your time in it; even if you have to fight against the will of the game itself to play.

Charming to no end, OneShot is the type of game you'll beat in a day or two, and think about for years after. If you're having doubts, just get it; you won't regret it!

great game if you are someone who is a undertale/deltarune fan I will definitely suggest this one and this exact version over the world machine.

This game will stick with me for the rest of my life, my heart and soul got touched and I'll never feel any different after the ending of it all. This was an experience of one in a million, a rare gemstone, and I cannot recommend this more highly than I can express now. And it was a pleasure playing this fantastic game.

I found this game through memes/artwork/media that I kept seeing throught the internet, I got really eager and I wanted to buy it for a long time now.

Well, I never expected it to lead me to cry in the end so much.

The puzzles, the storytelling, the characters, all of these things have really left me with many emotions.

I never thought that a silly *cat* such as Niko, that I found through the internet media would lead me into another yet great game. I can't wait to get the World Machine edition.

Genuinly one of the, if not the best story i have ever experienced. The whole game leading up to the finale is just wonderful.
If i could play one game again with no memory of it, it would be this one. It's just that amazing.

I don't think I have ever been as emotionally invested in a game, let alone any piece of media, as this game made me. Even the soundtrack alone was enough to make tears start building up in my eyes, that is how impactful this game truly is. It teaches you about making a choice, choosing your own path, and learning to guide yourself when there is no light to do so. This game was truly one of the best I have ever played in my life. 10/10 in every category.

Best 10 hours of my fucking life. I've played many life-changing games like Undertale, but this was, wow. I wouldn't even say life-changing. It's more. I went into this blind, and it made me, just. I can't even put into words on a screen how good this game is. You just have to play it for yourself.

Absolute Cinema.

despite the fact i haven’t beaten solstice yet, this game is AMAZING. it’s so cool how it works within your computer, the characters are wonderful despite their small presence, and then there’s niko who is easily the most relatable out of the cast, the art is eye candy. the soundtrack makes me feel so many emotions at once like it’s a smoothie. the story is beautiful— and holds up extremely well. if you have the money for it, it’s a great purchase.

Love this game, has interesting puzzles and captivating story which will really make you question if you're making the right choice. Feels like a steal for the price and even though it might be a little short the game makes an impact on its short run.

I remember buying this a year ago on a deal and only today felt like finishing it - Yeah im stupid 10/10 story I hate myself so much for not playing and finishing this the day I got it

Alula is the most precious bean

Peak game play, I gifted Oneshot to 2 people because of how good it is. My game bugged at a point toward the end so I've never finished it. I would genuinely buy a whole new computer to finish this game all the way through.

A short but amazing experience, well worth the 5 or so hours it takes to beat it.

*Small spoiler* This game is such an interesting play. I felt so bad every time I closed the game😔and doing the replay weighted so much on my conscience but in the end it was such a good story.

this game is so peak, i cried multiple times, i would rate this game a 10/10, absolute cinema, please i need a sequel to this going more in depth into Niko's homeland, the artstyle is amazing, the music is amazing, everything is perfect down to the last minor details, please get this game and try it for yourself, it's worth more than what you actually get it for.

This game genuinely made me cry. Especially the Solstice Ending, I've played this before or at least remember it a few years back, but I never saw THE ending. I regret not playing through all of it sooner. This is one of the most amazing use of the meta genre I've seen, alongside the story. There are just so many twists. Overall, absolute cinema. I'm glad I bought this "game" again, if you can even call it that. Because it's more than that.

if you are looking for a game that captures your heart. this is the one. it takes fourth wall breaking elements and makes it into a puzzle/story game. this game is not just good. its amazing. and you really build a strong deep connection with niko as you go along. i would strongly recommend. 10/10

Very compelling story, meta elements very well incorporated imo ^^ I love games that include the person behind the screen into the story, and OneShot is no exception! My only problem is one of the endings doesn't work for me, but I think that's a problem with my computer :( Anyways great game, made me cry :)

there are a few technical flaws for a game which presents itself of being very aware but that is only if you are very keen eyed and it is not really any distracting from gameplay or story
