The cursor for lock-on is displayed above your plane. While pushing the shot, the cursor zooms in. You can lock-on by matching the cursor with enemies. The range of cursor and the number of lock-on increases by taking the power-up item.

Pretty fun, definitely not too difficult
game too simple, bgm is very good
Dev refuses to port over the superior Switch port AND randomly decided to over triple the original price whilst offering nothing in return. Not at all worth buying.
Simple but fun.
Introduction
MissileDancer is a minimalistic retro style vertical shmup. I bought it after having played RagingBlasters, a new game by Terarin. Since I enjoyed that game a lot I looked for his previous games. The recently released Switch version of Missile Dancer has improved visuals but I don't mind the simpler Steam version, it actually looks more clear to me and it's ridiculously cheap.
Gameplay
Like most vertical shmups the playfield is narrow. You fly a jet with lock on missiles and autofire to destroy incoming enemy missiles. There's a radar you can check for approaching enemies. You keep your lock-on button pressed and then your available missiles wil lock on one by one. Once they're all locked on they'll launch automatically but you can also launch any locked on missiles by either letting go of the lock-on button or by pressing the missile button with the latter being more convenient.
You can pick up Range and Missile items, Range items will increase the lock-on range while Missile items increase the number of missiles you can deploy.
Destroying the bigger enemies will award you with a bunch of crystals you can collect, they are worth bonus points after you complete the area.
When you destroy enemies in short succession your chain increases. When your chain meter times out your chain resets. The higher your chain the more points you get for destroying enemies.
Game modes
You can choose between two game modes: Arcade and Caravan. Arcade is the story mode featuring 8 areas which you can play in three difficulties: Easy, Normal and Hard. Caravan is a 3 minute score attack mode. To help keep your chain going in this mode there are occasionly blocks you can hit in between enemy waves.
Conclusion
The story mode is well done and only takes about 15 minutes to clear. The lock on missiles add an unique twist to the game. All areas are quite different from each other and so are the bosses. I found it quite fun and relaxing to play. Once you understand how to use the lock-on system and take down enemy missiles even a beginner should be able to clear the game on Easy difficulty. Hard will provide you with a decent challenge.
The in-game side panels are black with control and game info, it is helpful at first but it would have been nice if it could be removed or replaced with a bit of artwork.
The music is really catchy and fits the theme and style of the game.

It's a fun little shoot 'em up with great music. The primary feature of this game is the lock-on missiles. Controls are simple as it's a mobile port. There is a traditional stage-based arcade mode as well as a caravan (score attack) mode. The game is pretty easy but it still fun. I don't have much playtime on Steam but I've played it a lot on Android.
I bought all of Terarin's games on Android and would be happy to see them all on Steam someday, too.
Good fun shooter with tight controls and a simple but handy radar. Definitely one that won't take too long to practice and memorise to go for a perfect run. My only complaint would be that the enemy missiles can get a bit lost in the visuals since there's only a few colours, they could do with standing out a bit more as they tend to blend into the background which has often got me killed on the first try at a stage. Can't fault it for the price though, hopefully the devs will go on to create an even bigger game. Would be nice to have a pause function rather than the escape key exiting the game though!
