Pretty sick. It's different from what I expected, but not in a bad way, it was really fun! Not a very long game though, only took me 3 1/2 hours to finish, and I died a ton, and I felt like I was doing pretty bad lol

I'm not complaining though, got it for super cheap, and I had a good time! Might have to replay again soon though to get any secrets and lore.

So I made a review about how Hotline Miami 2 was really good, but, the first game in my opinion is better. The only thing hotline miami 2 beats Hotline miami 1 in is how it has more characters, and the menu music. Overall both Hotline Miami games are masterpieces and I loved playing as Biker even if it was only for two levels

you NEED to play this

Easily one of the best games that I've ever played. It's a unique experience that makes its own place in the industry. Whether it's the presentation, the atmosphere, the gameplay, the music, the visual design, or the pacing - everything just works. It's like a lightning strike - it doesn't happen twice in the same place, which can be seen in the much inferior sequel.

I originally played it on the PS Vita, but decided to buy here too due to how much I liked it. Highly recommended, one of the rare cases where I assumed something might be overrated but it wasn't.

this is a 10/10 game, i've never really been into top down shooters but this game is amazing. After beating the game I tried to complete every achievment just for the fun of it. overall I would highly recommend trying this game.

The game is kinda hard to play but when you get you used to the mechanics its like you can do it with out one of your eyes

This game is for masochists. To be honest, it's been a while since my ass burned like this. In this game, almost everything is terrible - disgusting aiming, superintelligent enemies who see what is happening behind their backs (they literally have eyes on their backs). In general, the artificial intelligence of the enemies is so-so. There are also bugs (enemies can kill through the wall and so on), "poisonous" graphics that make your eyes stick together. The game has a pretty stupid gameplay - just run and kill, and in the end you suddenly get a bullet in the forehead from an enemy who has his back to you, and now you're going through the stage again. The only thing I'm really happy with in this game is the soundtracks, they're really good. 3/10

POST 100%:
This game is infuriating, but quite obviously. This game is intended to provide a challenge (as of writing this it's part of Perfect Random's Difficult Games Bash sale) which is probably why I still enjoy this game even after the CBT-tier levels the late game throws at you.

The story (in this game, at least. HM2 does seem to build upon it) is quite lacking, but that isn't really the reason people came here. The graphics too are quite ugly in places (mainly the dialogue sprite faces) but in a similar fashion to Cruelty Squad, it adds more charm to the game's experience. The levels are designed quite well and you can pull off some quite satisying stunts if you spend enough time with this game (I haven't) as well as a vibe that at the time was quite untapped in games.

Overall, I do recommend this game. It is fairly short if you are going for a straight shot through the story, and it is fun yet also torturous to go through and 100%. At any price point it is worth the money, however if you are a stickler for low prices and sales (like me) it does frequently go on sale throughout the year at an even lower price.

I really loved this game. Gameplay, story and soundtracks were all amazing. I really liked the fact that after you finish the main story you can play as Biker and find out who was doing those calls. I highly recommend this game to everyone who enjoys action games.

Oh wow after many short but gut wreching hours i finally got all A+ and achievements! Time to do it in the sequel all over again :'D

A very violent game to say the least, this game will have you slashing, beating and gunning down enemies for a long time, I have to be honest that it drained me trying to complete the "Achievement Whore" achievement but in a good way, I've never had so much panic, confusion and fun at the same time.

Very addicting game-play, from the start they put you to a very action packed level design with tons of fun. Variation is not very notorious but the different levels, character masks and guns are enough for having multiple ways of getting through the levels. The game is pretty short but you can get a lot more from the achievements it really makes the game reusable, the platinum of this game is short too if you´re a try hard. In conclusion this is a must play.

I don't know who I am. I don't know why I'm here. All I know is that I must kill. This meme fits the game perfectly. I don't understand what the story is talking about even after two runs, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying the beauty of pure violence. This fast paced game is straight to the point, to kill or to be killed, hesitation is defeat.

Achievements requires some effort but not really that difficult. Chapter 5 is your best friend for collection related achievements. Don Juan + wall kill will help you to get A+ rating in most of the levels.

Overall very recommended and it deserves to be an overwhelming positive game.

Hotline Miami is one of those singular pieces of art that formed core memories in my mind. Constructed crucial neurological pathways on my brain. Releasing in 2012 when i was 14 years old, balls deep in high school and desperate to form an identity around transgressive artwork that eschewed the mainstream. the pounding soundtrack and hyper violence instilled in me a love for french dark synth and grimy nontraditional storytelling. the game immerses you in a non stop rhythm of kill and be killed that perfectly weaves subtle surrealist worldbuilding and (barf) ludonarrative to tell a dreamlike tail of hurt and desperation. twelve years later the archaic gamemaker studio feel may come off as janky, but give it time to breathe and i promise it'll hit just as hard as it did when i was a hormonal child

Magnificent. A retro-fitted, surreal nightmare with a brain-warping soundtrack turned into a Gauntlet-esque top-down shooter. Both inspired by the past and absolutely its own thing. Difficult but almost never unfair. I will play this forever.

A brainwashed hyper-nationalist on a murder spree while wearing animal masks with non-stop synthwave music and vibrant neon colours paired with blood splatter flashing before your eyes, makes for a disturbingly cool game.

Absolutely love this game. The difficulty on some of the levels was a little tedious but the soundtrack for this game made up for it. I loved 100%ing this game so much. although this game is a little short, highly recommend to play because it's just so much God Damn fun.

This game has a mask that's whole purpose is to change almost all of the dialogue into french.

Unfortunately, there's a game-killing set of technical issues that force me to recommend not buying it. Launching the game is INCREDIBLY frustrating, with it often freezing on launch and/or loading in the wrong resolution (which results in the window extending well outside of your monitor). These issues have presented on multiple computers, leading me to believe it's not just my machine.
