Being a huge Little Nightmares follower and Tarsier Studios, this game was amazing. The style of the game especially is what draws me in, the cool designs of the characters and environment creates a horrific and atmospheric game. Compared to the first game, this game fixes a lot of bugs and peeves I've had in the previous game. The sound design is also amazing. Even if you have depth perception problems like I do and walk off things constantly, this is still an incredible game. Cant wait for the LNIII even if the companies changed.
Great game, amazing atmosphere, superb sound effects
This is legit one of my favourite games. If you liked the original, this one builds upon and improves upon that one - visually it's stunning, and the story, and lore, for me, is gripping. Definitely heavy liminal space vibes, that feels like you're in a dream.
This game is fantastic. Moral of the story: Don't brainrot with Instagram reels too much or else the Hat Man will take over the world. My biggest gripe with this game was the movement which I found to be super wonky and pretty frustrating at times. I think the developers could also improve the 2D/3D-hybrid platforming in the next game, it added to the chunkiness and frustration combined with the controls. Also, fuck that last elevator puzzle with the TV's.
Little Nightmares 2 is a very good and atmospheric story.
Just like the first game, the sequel does not disappoint!
Instead the mystery only grows and we can't wait for part 3 to come out and be just as decent!
(please Tarsier Studios, don't FK this up)
LN 2 is a very beautiful and short game.
5 chapters for 5 hours (not counting achievement hunting).
No additional DLC content and I remember a delay at release.
(which makes me very concerned for Little Nightmares 3 as it got delayed too..)
I highly enjoyed the story, graphics, music and sound, but I had some issues with the gameplay and performance.
The game is much larger than the 1st part, and technically more demanding. While I only encountered only a few minor bugs, the rare stuttering lag was annoying and I believe could have been patched out.
The gameplay part that concerned me was the combat and little leeway high precision movement and sequence requirements.
1) The combat was clunky and even playing with controller was frustrating as enemies would swarm you (hospital!).
Typically units are following a script to avoid locking the player down, in this game each unit is free to act out their programming, despite it putting you in an unfair dead-end situation where you are checkmated.
It becomes an RNG game as progress depends on luck and favorable positioning. I hate that.
2) The reason I dislike the horror genre is that everything is scripted and failing a sequence forces you to replay the same learned sequence over and over. It is not scary anymore and becomes a frustrating Groundhog Day situation.
So it does not help if the game demands high precision with weak controls and gives little leeway to make up mistakes.
It adds to the horror stress yes, but even when not fumbling in panic on your 34th try of a sequence, the game won't let you pass.
No worries, just DIE and TRY again right? Wrong, that only accentuates the issue with repeating scripted sequences.
Weaknesses of the genre should be covered, not played into.
Despite its few forgivable flaws, LN2 is actually one of the best stories and games ever made.
An amazing work of art!
Love to the artists! To the devs, work harder on LN3 !!!
Highly recommended! Would get Rachel'd like in Tower of God again.
Little Nightmares II is still a good time, but it's missing the spine-chilling charm of the first game. The puzzles and locations start feeling like déjà vu—like wandering around a spooky house you've already been in. Even the creepy vibes that made the original stand out now feel a bit like reheated leftovers: tasty, but not as fresh.
Visually, it's still cool, but it doesn't quite hit that detailed, nightmare-fuel perfection of the first game. The environments are nice enough but don't suck you in quite as deeply. Those terrifying creatures that once made you jump now seem like old friends—scary, ugly friends you've already met. And while the new enemies are pretty neat, let's be honest: none come close to those unforgettable, nightmare-inducing Cooks.
It's a great game and objectively better than it's predecessor.
It maintains the essence of Little Nightmares while adding new mechanics.
That eerie feeling when yo're exploring the different places and scenarios and the sensation of being at mercy of a bigger world full of giant, creepy threats... Nice.
Piece of art.
It's definitely one of my top 3 favorites. Very well made game. It has the creepy factor and scary factor, both of being chased but also the fear of getting caught. Puzzles are not hard to understand, collectibles are not impossible to find, although i did look them up on the internet in order to have 100% completion of the game.
It's great.

it being so hard kills the beauty of the story and the atmosphere
A little scary, these people know how to handle horror game unforcefully. i loved this game. worth time and money if you like short and precise story and fun puzzles(though you could use help with some).
The game is alright - VERY INFURIATING!! This goes especially to the hospital, with the limited character movement making it difficult to focus on each mannequin before it moves. Overall a static screen concept for a game seems cool but deffinitely has its flaws.
it does better with character movement than the first game, as catching on game assets trying to climb can be annoying, so it's nice that the maps are significantly larger. Whilst I understand you can change keybinds, it would be nice if hand-held movement could be trailed for mouse, as per tradition in various other games.
The actual movement of enemies is much more entertaining, especially with some moving throughout a full map rather than an idle area that you will just move on from. I also like how enemies are now consistently showing up through the entire Chapter, than Little Nightmares I where there will be multiple enemies under the same concept, split into rooms/sections within a chapter. It's nice for storytelling that each keep to their theme within rooms whilst depicting how sad and miserable the world around them is.
I do like how much more creative achievements are, with changing how you interact with enemies to objects in the game. Plus, It's nice that each run-through a chapter can be different depending on what achievement(s) you're looking for. Collectables such as hats and remains are now harder to find and are in more creative spots, loving that you need to explore so much more deeper to find all.
Overall, very infuriating for game-play, but a gorgeous story to follow.
Little Nightmares II is a perfect (prequel) follow up to the original. The game is enthralling, and is once again a masterclass in environmental storytelling. It further cements the themes of the original and perfects the style of the series. The mechanics are more polished than the original, and it is nearly twice the length of the first game. The story is enthralling and the characters are a delight. The introduction of a companion makes the game less lonely and it really contextualises Six’s experiences and actions in the original. Additionally, it answers many of the mysteries left by the original game. It is certainly more horrifying than the first, the third chapter of the game in particular. Tarsier hit the nail on the head once again with this game. 10/10, one of my favourite games and a perfect instalment in the series.
great game i love it and it has a good mix of horror and puzzle solving but there's a bug where if you collect all the glitchy remains it doesn't give you the achievement but that's all i really can complain about
This is not just a sequel, it’s a massive upgrade from the first game in every way. The world is more immersive, the tension is higher, and the storytelling is even more captivating. It takes everything that made the first game great and elevates it into a masterpiece.
From the moment you step into the game, it grips you with its stunning atmosphere and incredible art direction. Every environment is meticulously crafted, seamlessly blending beauty and horror. The attention to detail in lighting, sound design, and animation makes every moment epic.
The story is deeply impactful, filled with mystery and symbolism that keeps you thinking long after each chapter. It masterfully builds on the first game’s lore, delivering shocking moments and emotional depth that few games achieve. This is truly one of, if not the best, indie game ever made.
It's hard for me to recommend this game. For all it's on-point atmosphere, good twists and good monsters, it has some really bad puzzles in the second half of the game, wonky "combat", and most importantly, a complete refusal to go beyond the most breadcrumb amount of story you could possibly imagine.
It's the definition of getting lost in the sauce. These guys were so much into environmental storytelling that they were actually just making immersive environments with no clear story.
If you liked the first one, you will probably also like this one, but I would do away with any semblance of answer for all the questions its story rises.
i am in the middle of this game and i feel like the character with the paper bag over their head. i am the bag. i feel like a plastic bag. drifting through the wind. wanting to start again. such powerful emotions have not been felt since the divorce
I love the game the graphics the gameplay I know I don't have so much playtime in little nightmares 2 because I had it on the switch but the game is so good I bought it just to do the achievements. Easily the most underrated franchise ever. I can't decide which is better the 1 or 2. I really recommend playing. No spoilers but the twist in the end is so good I loved it I was so shocked. Great game 100/10
Very creepy with standout audio quality. The game is short, but it's really the perfect length - you wouldn't want it to be any longer. Runs great on Steam Deck.
After having it in my library for years i finally played it, and i really should have sooner. Beautiful game, scarier and better (imo) than the first one. The atmosphere and soundtrack is amazing and really adds to the fear factor. i'm horrible at games but the puzzles aren't too bad- they're engaging and even when difficult didn't t induce a rage quit (little things like jumps or rope swings are more likely to get you on that part.) + If you've been doing something for a while the game gives you a reminder of certain controls and makes you feel very stupid for not trying that first. Overall very good. :)
tldr: yes. buy it
Wow, it was an incredible journey!
Even though I’m not familiar with the first part, I absolutely loved this game.
Pros:
- music and ambience
- atmosphere
- visual style
- gameplay (even though in some moments, the combat mechanics feel clumsy)
No major issues or cons
The game delivers on all levels and it was an absolute pleasure playing
This and Little Nightmares are THE BEST games ever developed - BY FAR! Atmospheric, psychologically dramatic, brilliant graphics, storyline, characters, music and sound effects, and gameplay. The only problem with this game is that all others fail to compete. leaving you craving the next instalment. A++++++++
To be honest I enjoyed the first game way more.
This one had a lot of great moments too, but I experienced quite a few bugs and annoying sequences.
But nevertheless it's still an enjoyable game.
Possibly my favorite horror game. The artstyle, sound design, environments, creatures, lighting and story are all wonderful and I'd personally consider this an upgrade to the first game in almost every way.
This game is magnificent. Beautiful story. Challenging game play. Fantastic music. Impressive horror atmosphere.
If you want to have fun and enjoy for a few hours, I suggest this game, which will nail you with its emotional moments and beautiful ending.
Great work from Tarsier Studios again! I'm a big fan of the franchise and Little Nightmares 2, exceeded my expectations. It's a longer game than the first, boasts improved graphics, and retains the series' signature. Unlike the first game, which was confined to the Maw, this sequel explores a variety of creepy locations.
My playthrough clocked in at 7-8 hours, as I thoroughly explored each area, took my time, and occasionally struggled with puzzles or challenging sections. Overall, the game's length felt just right.
Collecting hats and finding all the Glitching children added a fun layer of exploration. I enjoyed it so much that I immediately started a second playthrough to complete all the achievements. The secret achievements, in particular, were well-designed, and I even needed a guide to figure some of them.
Best Horror Game I've Ever Played: The Sequel.
This game is amazing in storytelling and visuals. It took Little Nightmares and expanded way further outside of it.
My only complaint is the combat, I guess, since it usually feels like your weapon doesn't have enough range. Other than that, I cannot recommend this series enough!
just as good as the last one. Although, I liked the missions in Little Nightmare 1 more, but this brings a new twist with the introduction of six, a new friend to help us survive through all the horrors.
There is also a suspense element in this game, which keeps it very engaging. Highly recommended!
Little Nightmares II is an amazing sequel to the original and also a great Puzzle-Platformer that perfectly captures the same eerie world design, gameplay mechanics and puzzles as the first game while expanding onto it with new mechanics, designs and ideas. Making Little Nightmares II still feel unique compared to the original.
If you've played and enjoyed the first Little Nightmares, Then it's safe to say that you'll enjoy Little Nightmares II as well. I know I did. (and I played start to finish on my SteamDeck OLED.)
This game is fun.
Horror puzzle is not very common this days.
Just as the first one, this game rises more questions than answers, but nonetheless is worth trying.
10/10
Runs extremely well on Steam Deck OLED
love the first game and the second is a lot of fun but theres still a bug where you cant progress as no key appears in the x ray room
2 time now and its a waste of time and really annoying saw posts about the bug from 2 years ago and still not fixed in 2025
after the 5th time managed to fix by grabbing a hold of npc and dragging her by hand over the vending machine fixed the bugg
the ambience and story are beautiful and haunting, and the gameplay is addictive, I've played it dozens of times over and got all the achievements, now making personal challenges to make excuses to keep playing. The things left unknown are wonderfully enticing.
tldr: ln2 changed my brain chemistry for the worse. 100/10 recommend
Terrifying and trilling, loved the adventure and puzzles, I was on edge the entire time waiting for a scare because I knew it would happen anytime.
One of my favorite games of all time. Little Nightmares is the only game series I have genuinely felt compelled to 100%. The music is masterful and the gameplay keeps an unsettling vibe throughout the story. The Hospital genuinely freaks me out, but I can't stop coming back. Gameplay on keyboard and mouse can be a bit glitchy, if you have a controller I would recommend using it.
Ngl I hated this game at first because of how much I loved the first one and my feeling that they almost ruined this one via more trash combat. BUT. The ending was spoiled for me and it's almost better than the first. The moral of this story is that I'm a fool.
The little nightmares series is my favorite of all time. I find myself coming back to play the first game along with this one many times. Cannot wait for the next upcoming games from this creator.
An improvement on all fronts. Tremendous atmosphere, terrifying encounters. Unfortunately had a few tedious moments too but these were never too bad. Story and themes carry on from the first game very well too. Great experience on the Steam Deck.
I braced myself for the horror but didn't for the story.
A horror game that unfolds a heart-wrenching tale of the inevitable loss of innocence and the instillment of evil traits into our adorable and beloved protagonist and deuteragonist, as they brave themselves through the nightmarish world, driven by the instinct of survival.
Having finished both both games, I'd say the developers outdid themselves in:
- Creating an impactful story, told without words, that truly shakes the players' core.
- Portraying powerful protagonists through their (either significant or subtle) actions.
- Formulating a stark contrast between the protagonists and the gloomy world/enemies.
- Representation of childhood fears. No matter if it’s a person, a toy, or any other weirdly specific object.
- The gameplay, which resembles an elaborate and lethal “hide-and-seek” rather than simple stealth (hide-and-seek, at its core, is a game of practicing for survival!).
- Brilliant soundtrack that captures and enhances the dire and edgy in-game situations.
[*]The “holding hands” mechanism in Little Nightmares II, it's cute and comforting!
The puzzle design pales a bit given how well the other aspects of the game were executed…but they’re still decent, to say the least.
I highly recommend this game. There is a certain class/style of game which very deliberately tells its story with little to no text or dialogue. This type of 'show, don't tell' storytelling is in my opinion the pinnacle of what gaming can be. Little Nightmares 2 is a crowning achievement of this sort of storytelling. The gameplay itself is mostly a sidescroller puzzle. The visuals are beautifully done.
Very good game. The story is very interesting and unexpected
I absolutely loved this game and personally enjoyed it even more than the first (The first is still great!) It's so atmospheric, creepy and yet a little cute. It can be a little frustrating at times with a certain mechanic (Chapter 3. Iykyk) but I think 75% of my struggle was simple skill issue on my part. I got through them when I adjusted.
Some of the shots were so visually stunning that I just had to stop and take a moment to enjoy it. Eerie but beautiful music, and fun game play. Definitely recommended.
Same as the first game, I genuinely love that atmospheric horror. This game definitely gave me more of a fright than the first one, but they are both very precious. This one is a bit longer, but still worth every minute.
How the stories line up between both games is amazing. It doesn't tell you the story, you kind of have to connect the pieces yourself. If you're lazy, or just don't want to, people have made videos on it.
Once you understand the story, I hope you come to enjoy this series as much as me.
Better than the first game and has a good story.
I pre-ordered this game but only got around to playing it now.
It sucks. It somehow is just a worse version of Little NIghtmares 1.
It's a buggy mess. My character gets stuck on so many objects, the AI characters stops responding, keys don't work until I leave and go back, jumping while grabbing fails 25% of the time, and worst of all sometimes objects needed to progress just don't spawn? like in the area where you need to get a key from inside the stuffed animals, only 1 spawned, and it took me over an hour of playing before I looked it up online and learned 3 of them are supposed to spawn. My game was just glitched and I had to start the chapter over. Other people seemed to have this issue, too.
The game expects you to do everything in a VERY specific way with very specific timing, but never tells you this or hints at it, so a lot of the game is running into a room, dying, respawning, waiting for the long animation to stand up, try again slightly differently until you keep progressing more and more each time. The whole time you just sit there and cross your fingers hoping the checkpoint isn't 5 minutes back in time (hint; it usually is).
Each chapter is almost the same gameplay loop. Run through the game (usually walking right), encounter that chapters "monster", avoid the monster by hiding in the shadows, end the chapter with the monster chasing you to the next chapter start. Rinse and repeat.
The finale was also the same gameplay loop. No spoilers, but it began with "oh, neat" to "oh, again?"
Not to mention despite me pre-ordering I don't have the hat unlocked. Looking online it seems like some other people have the same issue, but there is no resolution. Even for those who never pre-ordered, having to look at a black "?" box forever as if you missed something is ridiculous. Indefinitely punishing people for not pre-ordering.
Just play Little Nightmares 1. It's a better game with scarier monsters and fun unique gameplay the whole way through.
It brings very little to the game that the original doesn't, but the atmosphere is just as captivating and so there's still plenty spooky fun to be had, even if the frequent restarts in certain sections can get annoying.
Played for 28 hours. Amazing experience, story and graphics make it so much better. I would definitely recommend it to players who are trying to find a enjoyable game.
this is an awesome game. i would say better than the first one. and i love the first one.
i like running around a room while the adult does their cycle of tasks so i can grab a key to do it all over again. i love the chase sequences because even though they're terrifying they're so cool visually, especially the doctor one where i had to put the old chap in the incinerator. poor guy.
the art style is really disgusting and slimy but thats what makes this game so unique i feel. the tv people were the grossest thing i've ever seen. when the teacher first appeared and elongated her neck to look across the room... oh my god...
the story is also pretty rad but i feel like im not smart enough to understand it... six drops mono into the abyss... so mono turns into thinman... so thinman can kidnap six... so six can drop mono into the abyss?? thats awesome. theres probably more detail that im missing.
i got it during the winter sale but i think its worth the og price.. thank u little nightmares. god bless!
A good game with good story line and great graphics and smooth game play, helps in explaining the little nightmares lore this game definitely has its charms and the hospital level was definitely the most scariest and the most annoying due to limited controls on keyboard but on a controller its fine and fun. As someone who plays on keyboard and mouse only the controls were definitely annoying and painful which requires a lot of patience. This game just proves that a game without dialogues and fast paced action can be fun. The game may not have the highest replaying value but Little Nightmares 2 and Little Nightmares are those games that you will never bored off and definitely will play from time to time plus its offline which is great, i wished that this game had multiple ending.
Wow, I didn't know I would enjoy this series that much. The ending got me goosebumps. The story and the puzzles are very good implemented.
It was an up and down journey for me and after both finishing the first game and this one, I needed some time to get myself together cause I WAS SHOCKED.
I definitely recommend this series and I am looking forward for the third game.
I liked the first game but this one just got me bored, horror scenes are good but once you get used to them is me, puzzles fell unfair rather than hard only some most of them are easy. After 3 hours I got tired of running right the whole time. Art still is great characters and music, but gameplay was very repetitive after the first hours. The story and mystery are just too messy to get hook up with.
