Super fun, ample playtime and replayability. Fun and challenging find and collect all of the items! 👍💕
As a 3D platformer, this game is actually nice. Already made me forget the experience I had when playing Yooka Laylee, with an actually fun and challenging platformer game.
Like any 3d platformer game, this game has a hub with stages in it. Those stages you play you have to collect their clovers, to unlock new stages and stuff, and each stage, except for the boss fight stages, have 3 extra side objectives that give you a clover:
A secret clover, which you must find how to get it.
A coin clover, which you get from getting 300 coins in that stage.
A Lucky clover, which you need to find all the letters of the word Lucky to get it.
The game itself is actually a bit challenging, but not that much. You can end up dying a few times when
trying to play or get something, but the game is also very forgiving too. It doesn't hoard on the lives you can get, and unless you are terrible at the game, will probably not fall under 5 lives later in the game. I believe collecting a certain number of coins gives you more lives or something, but it's subtle, so I didn't noticed.
The biggest antagonist of the game is its collision system. It was enumerable the cases where Lucky was flung arond when I tried to hit an enemy, or fell from platform because the collision failed. Without counting a moment where a platform was shrinking and Lucky was glued to it, falling to the pit.
A good number of the cheap deaths I had in the game were because of the collision system going haywire.
Anyways, the stages contains a small variety of them, being either 3D platformer or side scroller, which alternates depending on the stage. There are also side stages that show up on the hubs, after you unlock new stages. Those side stages contains side activities, that will award you with a clover upon done, and maybe even coins depending on it.
There are some puzzle activities, including one of moving blocks, but with some freedom when moving them, one where a mad scientist cat shrinks Lucky, to place him in a sphere, and in a maze that can be rotated with the keys to move him around.
The third special stage type is an auto runner. Lucky is constantly running, and you have to either jump or burrow to proceed until the end, while trying to collect as much items you can on the way.
Speaking of movement, beside the basic running, jumping and also the tail whip attack Lucky can do, he also can burrow on soft soil too. Might not look that much interesting, but there are some cases where burrowing ends up being part of what you must do to collect some item, and the result of burrowing + jumping + running ends up in a really cool platformer experience. And the best thing is that it's easy to master.
A oddity I found on the game, is that beside it allows you to play with keyboard, and even allows you to change keybinding, the game shows controller keys on the signs in-game. At least on the sign that was saying like "A, LT", I had to figure out that it wanted me to make Lucky jump, then press the key to Burrow, so he charges downwards.
The boss fights of the game are something, because they do have difficulty, and most of that is because they involve a bullet hell session. Seriously, every boss fight in the game has a moment where turrets spawns somewhere and begins firing, and you have to run and jump from the fireballs. It feels really odd when it is repeated on new boss fights, including on boss fights that doesn't really make sense that being a thing (first one is an example).
So far, I managed to play and beat the base game. I wouldn't say I 100% it, because I didn't bought all outfits, but there are 4 worlds in the base game, and I got all the 99 clovers in it. There seems to be dlc worlds too, but I'll play them later. I just found kind of disappointing that there was only 4 worlds in the base game, but at least the game was fun.
If you want a nice 3d platformer, this game is a good option. Go for it.
It has even a bundle with another game of the serie, which I haven't played yet, so I guess I could try it once I'm done with this one heh.
This is not a bad game but New Super Lucky’s Tale is the remastered version of Super Lucky’s Tale which is definitely the version I’d recommend. One big downside to Super Lucky’s Tale is that you only have three limited camera angles which is extremely annoying. New Super Lucky’s Tale has the camera unlocked which is way more fun. Runs perfectly local on Steam Deck.

i played this for like an hour and then forgot about it. 10/10
Muito divertido, lembra Super Mario 3D Land e Battle for Bikkini Bottom, dificuldade na medida certa também.
Pretty nice game, challenging bosses, good music, simple but fun gameplay....overall it's a nice 3D Platformer. I just wish that we could move the camera freely but other than that, I think it's a pretty good game

It's a pretty fun and chill mascot adventure game. It makes me remember when I used to play this kind of game as a kid. The challenges added to the Foxington stages had that extra difficulty that, if you missed in the main game, it will be there.
