A game that made my childhood, it was the first thing i bought on steam but sadly it moves in slowmo and is basically unplayable

Sonic Adventure 2 is fast, fun, and unforgettable. The split Hero and Dark stories, awesome soundtrack, and addictive Chao Garden made it a game I loved. Despite a few camera issues, it’s one of the best Sonic games ever.

Grew up playing this game. And while parts of it are jank, and the Treasure hunting stages make me wanna pull my hair out, this game will always be seen as a comfort game. Something to play when the goings get rough.

Sonic adventure 2 is a great game heck its story is even better the soundtrack top class but there is a small thing here,the camera's suck characters lips dont sink with their words and sometime is very annoying to play but at the end this game is a reccoment for me!

8/10 Decent game but SA1 was better. I do like the idea of being able to play as the evil side, but each character doesn't have their own seperate story like SA1. Plus, each side's characters have the same gameplay mechanics as the others. Sonic and Shadow are fast paced and have no true difference, rouge and knuckles are slow paced treasure hunting and aren't different, and Eggman and Tails are once again the same slow gameplay. I don't like how tails has a mech the whole game. I think it could have stayed but only in one or two levels. I did love the ending, but the struggle to get to the final fight are almost not worth it. The beginning portion of playing as all the characters is cool but tortureous. the chaos clones are unpredictable and almost are impossible to avoid and Eggman's block area sucks. I do like the character models though and I love the emotion put into each character. overall a pretty good game, despite there being various bugs. Would recommend

Great story, bad hit boxes but that should be expected for an older game.

Live and learn.

Despite this game being over 20 years old, I genuinely believe it to massively hold up in today's gaming age. Its occasional difficulty or unclear controls are a byproduct of the time it was made in, with occasional frustrations, but the highs of this game are unlike any other. If you enjoy fast-paced action platforming, this game is perfect for you.
I believe it contains the height of Sonic's story as well, and despite only becoming a recent fan, this game solidified my love of the Sonic Franchise. If you're a Sonic fan that hasn't tried this game, give it chance, you won't regret it. I certainly didn't.

10/10 Game. Live and Learn is the one of the best Sonic songs ever.

The controls and physics are kinda crappy cuz this is based off the GameCube version, but this game is still pretty fun and I can see why so many people like it. Not to mention it introduced Shadow who is objectively the best Sonic character

I bought this distinctly so that I could put mods on Rogue.
Now I have Skyrim levels in Chao Garden mods, and Shadow is in a dress.
This game, even after two decades, is still challenging to complete.

Live & Learn

Pure nostalgia, for myself, this game is like a warm blanket on a cold wintry day. Yes, it's not perfect, it's based on the GameCube build which SA 2 Purists will tell you is inferior to the Dreamcast version, but since I owned a GC and not a Dreamcast at the time, I'm more familiar with the GC version.

Despite that, there's a massive amount of mods you can find online that will fix much of the issues that were present in this Steam release, as well as making the game play and perform better than it ever did back when it was first released. The music, the voice work, all great stuff.

This game is often on sale on Steam, but either way it's worth it. If you don't already own it, get it.

Really great game, but it does have some big flaws. The game is pretty difficult to control at times and there was even a moment I clipped through a wall on accident in Final Rush for Sonic.

nostalgia at its finest for me lol. was obsessed with sonic as a kid, and playing this game modded is healing my inner child.

It's ok. I think it's heavily overrated likely because when people think of this game they think of the speed stages with Sonic and Shadow and not the rest of the game. I do think that's it's worth playing for the impact it left on the series and the speed stages are fun if a little janky at times. The story is definitely one of the best in the series if you care about that. Overall it's an ok game with some charm and a whole lot of problems.

This is one of my favorite sonic games! You get to play as many different characters on fun missions! I highly recommend this game.

At first the game was hard but it gets easier as you progress. After completing one story the next one is a breeze.

fun! once you learn the controls. it can run on a lemon battery and has very few noticeable glitches but there is a few annoying levels. final chase is fun but a little janky and a little bit annoying and route 280 is also really annoying but overall, 9/10 is fitting for it.

Was inspired to get this game and the original Sonic Adventure after watching the Sonic 3 movie, was not disappointed.

i don't know why i like this game. it just feels really charming even through it's numerous flaws. i just new from the first cutscene before city escape, it was love. if i was a man i'd literally just be sonic the hedgehog. rogue is also here and she's really cool

do get the SAModManager if you want to play this though. lots of fixes and stuff. this port is kinda rough around the edges, it literally took me years to finish this because i got tired of the game crashing my computer before using the manager

Hey, look: It's one of the best Sonic games!

There's not much I can say about such an old game at this point, but I can at least confirm: All the cool, jank, fun, infuriating, and absolutely amazing things that you've heard about it are probably true. I love this game a lot and it's got a lot of great replayability and some really cool speedrun strats. Definitely recommend playing through it multiple times, though wouldn't recommend going for all A Ranks unless you're a diehard fan.

Finally, SEGA, please give us more Chao Garden and Knuckles rap content

This is still one of the best 3D Sonic games and one of the best 3D platformers of its era. The Chao Garden alone makes this an easy recommend. However, it does show its age in several spots and this particular port is notorious among Sonic fans for its control and graphics issues, so I would recommend seeking out some helpful quality of life mods before starting.

You can also run this game on just about anything, so if you're stuck with a potato laptop like I was when I first got this game around ten years ago, then you won't have to worry about the game running poorly. That being said, my boyfriend ran into the issue of the game running a little too well on his 144hz monitor which caused it to run at double speed. Watch out for something like that, unless you wanna go really fast.

Sonic Adventure 2 is a nostalgic ride that truly captures the essence of classic Sonic gameplay while introducing some modern enhancements. The game’s variety of characters and levels keeps things fresh, and the graphics and soundtrack still hold up well, immersing players in its vibrant worlds.

One of the notable improvements over its predecessor is the camera system. It feels much more responsive and intuitive, making platforming and exploration much smoother. Additionally, the game has done a good job reducing the number of cheap deaths, which previously could be frustrating and break the flow of gameplay. This makes for a more enjoyable and less punishing experience overall.

However, the game does have its downsides. The Knuckles and Rouge scavenger hunt stages can become quite tedious. Repeatedly searching for Chaos Emerald shards or hidden items can feel monotonous and sometimes detract from the overall fun. These sections could have benefited from a bit more variety or streamlined objectives to keep players engaged.

In summary, Sonic Adventure 2 is a solid entry that benefits from improved camera controls and a more forgiving gameplay experience. While the scavenger hunts can be a bit tedious, they don't overshadow the game's many strengths. Fans of Sonic and platformers will find plenty to enjoy here.

Amazing game, you got a blue freak and a black edgy freak and tails...

I'm not gonna lie this game truly is a product of it's time... Or is it? Honestly I'm not very sure about how justifiable the clunky playstyle really is but I can say that I definitely enjoyed it regardless, it's Shadow's introduction after all. And for a price of ten euros I definitely wouldn't expect a lot more. The chao garden is a feature I definitely miss in more recent Sonic games... Also could we PLEASE finally have Shadow the Hedgehog for PC???

I really want to love this game as much as so many others seem to, but this game is ass, the final boss took me 20 minutes because most of my hits wouldn't work, the final level of both the Hero and Dark stories are extremely hard to enjoy due to unfair deaths, and overall the game is not a net positive for me, even with the presence of Shadow the Hedgehog and Live and Learn. It with a heavy heart that I must say, I do not recommend playing this game. If they ever make a remake though, I'm there, this has potential to be amazing but is held back by poor controls, frustrating level design, bad cutscene animation and voice acting.

I’ve heard good things about this game, and now that I’m about 3 hours in (which, by the way, is roughly the amount of time it takes to beat Forces—yeah, frick Forces), I can already tell: you’re not a true gamer without this masterpiece in your library. The vibes, the music, the chaos—this is peak Sonic.

Buy it. Play it. Live it.

It's so much more interesting than Sonic Adventure 1. The story is still a mess, but I can tell Sonic Team figured out how to make a 3D Sonic game by now. Most of the camera bugs that plagued the first title are gone, and overall it's more cohesive. The big problem is Shadow. I really just don't care about him; he's the evil twin trope and despite efforts to make me care about his backstory, I can't. Despite this, it's an essential experience and I recommend it.

Getting straight to the point, this game is not the HD port from gamecube/ps3/xbox era. This is the original Dreamcast version. I did not know this. It's a terribly broken mess that plays like absolute GARBAGE without mods. Highly (VERY HIGHLY) recommend getting mods to make the game function. If you like the ancient crusty jank that is the OG, more power to you, but personally I couldn't even touch this game without QoL fixes.

The camera was the worst offender of everything. But again, mods fixed all my issues. I turned the game into the Chao Sim I wanted most as Sega will never make another sonic game with a new Chao Garden Mechanic. I specifically only play to raise Chao and that's about it.

The game is almost unplayable. The sensitivity is awful and too fast, I'm playing with a PS3 controller and the camera angles are bad too.

A childhood favourite! The story mode is fun, the chaos are cute, and the game runs good once you figure out some settings.

Before buying be aware of some issues:
When I initially bought the game it had a problem with loading voice lines too fast, making them overlap. The gameplay itself seemed to be at double speed, even the timer was running at double. This made it annoying and hard to control anything, Others seem to have this issue and I tried their advice but ended up asking for a refund.

I've since tried borrowing my brother's copy from our family library and messed around with settings and now it seems to work fine!

For those having this issue, try reducing your computer's frame rate. I had to change max FPS to 60, turn on vertical sync and turn on low latency mode. I also had to make sure the game was set to using my NVIDIA GPU in the windows control panel to make these settings take effect.

A bit of a work-around, and of course will have to change to these settings and back again whenever I play something else, but I'm not too bothered about having to do that as I really do enjoy this game.

Keyboard controls can be a bit weird, I recommend pressing shift and tab together and setting the keybindings to a controller.

If you are like me, a big sonic heroes fan and disappointed in everything else they released, then this will be an exception. So far this is the closest in similarity to heroes imo and i love it. What makes it even better is that the fandom makes really good mods on gamebanana, so if you dont like something about the game (camera, character models, ...) you can just look for a mod to make it even better. :)

Изначально сравнивал эту игру с шедевральной 1-ой частью adventure. И было небольшое разочарование..
Потом если абстрагироваться от сравнений (которые явно будут не в пользу 2-й части) а просто играть и не думать, то в целом хорошая игра.

Сложная, враги выпрыгивают в очень странные тайминги, где без хита их невозможно задоджить, только если заранее знать и переигрывать. Такой способ реиграбельности основаный на закреплении.

Сюжет как в фильме Соник 3, после просмотра прикольно поиграть чтобы закрепить впечатление
