This was a fun game. I really enjoyed it. Even though the battles were difficult, they made me think about how to win and that to me is great to see in a game. I don't like just grinding to win and this game shows that even if you have good equipment, that you still need to plan before each battle. The story is really cool and the gameplay does something different and I loved it. The visuals and the music are great. My only real problem with the game isn't even something that I can really complain about considering that the game was made in a month. It is that that the game had some really bad slowdown.
I highly recommend this game.
The instructions are vague and bosses are all but impossible right from the start. I do not understand all of the thumbs up. I really wanted to like this game but the main character starts out with little defense and hp for the bosses they need to fight. I was able to make it to the 3rd boss and from there hit a wall. The tools given or found/won is not enough. I love the concept and I do love a challange but need some kind of turtorial to make it less frusterating as well as the tools for a balanced fight.
This is one of those games you stumble upon and are like "What the hell?" XD I'll give it a a go.
This is a pretty decent, simplistic ( in a good way ) game. You are basically on a train ride to oblivion and move from left to right fighting monsters in rpg fashion. Not finished yet...

YOMOTSU is a great, short RPG Game that actually takes a bit of thinking and planning to get past the numerous bosses, but can be affected by dreaded lag input.

YOMOTSU is, well, linear. Incredibly so. But that's kind of the point: you're on a train headed to HELL. You wake up from a nice nap to find a creepy kid looking at you, and eventually befriend a zombie named Mark and have business dealings with a mimic named Chester.
Seriously.
The point of the game is to reach the main car to find the Machinist to convince him to stop the train and let you off, thus sparing you from having to watch reruns of House Hunters for all eternity.
There is a lot to love about this game. I mean, people before me already did: it was the IGMC 2017 Grand Prize Winner, so you KNOW there's some good stuff here. While it really IS linear, there are secrets and little easter eggs to find if you go back to cars you've already visited.
Another thing to love about this game is the amount of items. There are dozens of different weapons that give you different perks. See, you don't level up in a traditional sense in this game, and any abilities or skills must be purchased or bestowed upon you through skills you buy, or special abilities given to you by the equipment you wear.
And that also serves as a perfect segway into the bad stuff: finding the right gear to take down a certain boss can be tiresome, especially since money isn't exactly flowing like milk and honey in this game. If you want to buy things, it takes a fair bit of grinding (once you can) to earn the cash to do so (For the love of god buy the Mysterious Pouch as Soon as you can)
Not only that, but I encountered a terrible lag bug with my playthrough. It mostly happened whenever I would 'retry' a fight instead of just letting myself die, or if there were a lot of effects or enemies on the screen at once. It was annoying, but not quite a deal breaker for me.
Oh, and this game only has one save slot, so make sure you plan your escape carefully, so as to not lose progress like someone I know, who shall remain unnamed, almost did several times. *ahems*
+Snappy Humor
+Short, Sweet Gameplay that can be completed in about 2-3 hours
+Interesting Boss Mechanics that are challenging, but not punishing
+Quick Swap of Party Members in Battles
+Achievements! (Well, -I- think it's a plus :P)
=Linear, but that's the point
=Difficult at first, but eases up once you can grind on previous bosses
=Grinding can be bit boring
-
-No NG+ Mode (This game is BEGGING for it)
-No Werewolf (SERIOUSLY?!)
-While the items are great, Boss strats can be hard to figure out without a lot of trial and error and MONEY
-Only one save
I recommend this game, even with the annoying lag bug. It's a great price, it's got great humor, and it is just fun to play from one end of the train to the other. It actually left me wanting MORE.
Don't spend your money on this game
