South Park™: The Stick of Truth™

If you are a South Park fan, it's just one of those things you have to experience. It pays homage to key moments throughout the series time & time again. The game is full of a ton of collectibles, people to talk to, an endless supply of content, and an infinite amount of laughs.

They couple all of these positives w/ a narrative that fits seamlessly into the universe & gampelay elements that keep you engaged. Highly recommend.

played it for the first time in 2014, and have replayed it multiple times over the years and still do it until now. i dont even watch the show its just a damn good game.

With a replay in the year 2025 to finish the achievements, this game still holds up being over 10 years old. Solid story and enjoyable combat makes this game the wonder that it is.

Fun game if you know the show. The hunting quest targets are not as obvious, but start on them early. The best weapon is the Broken Bottle (a weapon, not a junk item) because it causes bleeding and gross-out on a hit, plus you can add a fire damage weapon "strap-on" to it, and then the target gets all three damage types in one hit. The effects stack when hit again, so if you hit someone twice with Bleeding, they have Bleeding x2. This stacking of lingering effects is the key to winning. Stack effects on each turn by hitting with the bottle and watch enemies go down on their own. You have to fight someone to get the Broken Bottle, in a filthy place (which is why is has the gross-out built-in).
Butters hits really hard, and has an electrical attack for multiple targets. Opponents always attack him first, so he is a great companion. You stay healthy while you feed him potions to keep him going. We wasted dire bears like crazy. Stan was good too, especially early in the game. Kenny comes back to life, so that is handy. The enemies' armor goes way up as you gain levels, so you have to use powers instead of weapons once you gain levels. For that reason, focus on patches and strap-ons that put lingering effects on your targets. Use the dragonshout fart to clear the swarms of rats on the map edges. Near the end of the story at high level, when you get the Rebirth patch, use it, you will need it. It makes you come back to life when you die in combat. I didn't even know what it did until it happened. Also, keep the highest armor class possible. Some gloves give a great boost, and there are patches for armor too, use those. AC can go up to well over 100. Keep the 4th level alien armor the whole game, it is the best because it absorbs two hits, regardless of strength. Wish the game was playable with a controller.

Absolutely comical, easy turn-based combat with a handful of challenges. Mostly a game to play for a good laugh which was well worth it!

This game still holds up after a decade since its initial release.
Whilst being locked at 30fps, it being turn based doesn't need a high refresh rate, especially since it is identical to the television show!

Awesome Game!!! The movement. The Storytelling. The character designs. The Controls. Just everything is perfect. Only "complaint" i have is that it wasnt even longer. The lil details everywhere. The Abilities. The different areas to explore and the combat is so fun and relaxing. I really enjoyed this game and i cant wait to replay it with all the different classes. I can defiently recommend this!!! (Dont waste your money on the sequel tho. its nothing like this so dont get your hopes up to high...i was highly dissapointed)

the game still holds up well humor wise but.... the switch version runs better than the pc version. idk what yall were thinking with this port but it wasnt opimized for pc or play tested. character lines play out of sync, game needs to be reopened to sync sound effects back up with cut scenes, sometimes doesnt register blocks, etc. other than that its great still

I don't think you need to be a South Park fan to enjoy the game. But I do think, in order to get the most out of it, you do need a certain sense of humor. And it helps to enjoy turn-based games. While it's not really for me, I'm glad that we have funny RPG's! It's nice to play something that doesn't take itself too seriously, while having some pretty in depth combat.

Good game. A South Park extended episode with good gameplay, lots of charm and love put into the game you'll notice . The 4 class choices are excellent considering you're probably going to have to do 3 playthroughs to get all the achievements .

This game is gold. I'm not a big fan of the series, I've only seen a few episodes and I know the general idea, four boys, a small town and making fun of everything that's nonsensical. That's why I didn't have high expectations, but I gave this game a chance and I don't regret it. I played the entire game on steam deck where it works great and for three days I couldn't tear myself away from it. If you don't have a stick up your ass and are open to merciless humor, it doesn't matter what age you are, this game will win you over.

its like actually playing an episode of south park, super fun, and a ton of references, the combat can be tricky sometimes, but still very enjoyable 8 out of 10

Great fun. Lots to do, lots to explore, funny dialog and good combat. If you are on a potato computer, drop your graphics a little or you will have delays for inputs which is important for blocking and attacking.

This game was good, shame its somewhat censored here in Australia but its not world ending. I love the humor and the gameplay whist janky is well made

Both of these times I had alot of fun and injoyed the crazy things they did, the story was fun and the combat was very well made! The final boss was cool but after killing it twice the boss got boring. Seeing chef in this game was also a massive suprise the first time I played it!

Will be coming back to this game at the end of the year!!!

South Park: The Stick of Truth hasn't aged a day since its release. It is an absolute must play for fans of the show. It's uncompromising in its storytelling as always and as grotesque as it gets with its perfect blend of dark humor and social commentary that somehow manages to remain relevant to this day.

Worth buying even at full price

It's a time capsule of amazing overly edgy humor and a great, well-executed and not unnecessarily complex or bloated RPG with features that make turn based combat engaging and interesting. It's not hard, some moves are busted as all hell, some mechanics don't feel worth engaging with, but it is fun.

I never thought that I would like a south park game even if I've never watched an episode before. This is comedy gaming at its best. If its on sale, its 100% worth it, you'll enjoy every minute and dollar spent.

I recently replayed Postal 2 (2003), and it really brought back a lot of memories. The dark humour and satire are always excellent, and it's the kind of comedy you don’t see much these days because people seem more sensitive and "fragile" now.

So, when South Park™: The Stick of Truth™ came out in 2014, I honestly didn’t expect much. I assumed it would tone things down compared to the cartoon version. But I gave it a shot, and I was surprised; it actually turned out pretty great, I love it!

The combination of of turn-based combat and quick-time events (QTE) in South Park™: The Stick of Truth™ is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Have you ever played a turn-based game where your characters get so strong that all you do is click a few buttons and win easily? It gets boring pretty fast, right? But in this game, even when your team is powerful, you still have to stay focused and time your moves. That keeps every battle interesting and fun. I think more turn-based games should think about using this kind of system, it really keeps things fresh

This game is basically a playable episode – no, a whole season of South Park, packed into an RPG that’s way better than it has any right to be.

The writing is hilarious, the voice acting is original, and the combat system is surprisingly fun and tactical. Every single quest drips with absurdity – from fighting Nazi zombies to surviving alien probes (yes, that part).
It’s short, but sweet – and if you're a fan of the show, it's pure gold.

South Park the Stick of Truth is a very well made, rude, vulgur, disgusting and depending on your region, censored Masterpiece from Obsidian, to keep it simple, if you love South Park? You will Adore this game, this game is commonly said to be a Playable Episode which isn't too far from the truth.

You play as The New Kid, a customisable boy who is moved to South Park by their mysterious parents for unknown reasons, before long he gets involved in a Massive Roleplay between The Kids of "Humans versus Elves". Both sides fight to maintain dominance of The Stick of Truth, a holy artifact of extreme unimaginable power. Before long Cartman enlists you as a Royal Member of The Kingdom of Kupa Keep (The KKK!) and as is standard with South Park, lots of things go horribly out of proportion, involving Aliens, Zombies, Nazi's, Internet influence, smoking, drugs and that just barely scratches the surface. The Story is hilarious and genuinely well written and acted, no questions, no deny, hands down Obsidians masterful writing combined with Matt and Trey helps to deliver a great story.

Combat begins whenever The New Kid hits an enemy or they are hit first, the gameplay is strategic as enemies perform buffs on themselves and attack, blocking is timed based to mitigate damage, then once its the NK's turn they can apply buffs with potions (Food, coffee and whatnot), perform abilities with Mana (Too much gassy farts), perform attacks with their equipped weapon (Sticks, Stones, Toy bows and even proper weapons like Alien Rays, Katanas etc) or perform a Special ability dependent on their class using Power Points (Or PP for short). Animations are show accurate and well done, the funniest for me has to be the Circum scythe from the Jew Class. Companions involve Butters, Kenny to name a couple who have their own weapons and special attacks, whether its throwing a hammer, using imagination to summon a Unicorn or Cartman re enacting the ending from the movie with his V- Chip.

When you're not in combat you can explore the Town at your leisure and there is a LOT to see and do, one big component of the game is utilising special powers to explore previously locked or inaccessible areas, also by talking to the town residents you can unlock friends for Facebook or get special summons, Mr Slave's is by far the funniest, dirtiest and more disturbing but Jesus coming in spraying in M16 with shades never gets old too, Summons are one time use however and don't work in boss fights, exploring can also net you bonus items and weapons.

The Music is... unbelievably good, its very much a Parody/homage of Elder Scrolls while feeling like South Park, just brilliant, sounds too are also great. Farting never gets old.

The game has its negatives however, The Difficulty depending on the situation can be varied, sometimes its too easy and some characters are overpowered, Cartman is by far the most powerful companion especially cause of his fart storm which hits every enemy and sets them on fire, combined with armour reducing abilities or another AOE Attack it can usually wipe enemies in one turn, plus bosses are pretty easy to fight too, Sometimes playing defensively is better as it allows you to see the many unique attacks enemies have.

I also did not like the repetitive nature of the final act, it does have its highlights but man, doing those quests takes a while.

The biggest problem is that once the game is beaten there is unfortunately little to do outside of remaining quests, being able to fight former bosses or an unlockable New Game + or harder difficulty would've been great. And while this is an RPG your choices outside of one doesn't effect anything which sucks imo.

Regardless Stick of Truth is a great game, its probably the funniest game I've played. I highly recommend it.

This is a game where you ride the waves of your fever dreams. First you fight Elfs which are jews, the next moment you fight Nazi Zombies which are all german ofc. Then you can chose to side with the jews to fight the grand wizard of kkk. You go to sleep and gnomes attack you...

10/10 would drug again.

The game was fun, I liked farting and insulting Jews so this game is perfect for me, the pacing was fine, but it was pretty east to powercreep or I'm just a tryhard

Really fun game, its like a playable south park episode. Games locked at 30 fps to try and mimic the shows animation. Combat is really fun and challenging at times. Story is pretty good as well, there's a few episodes that tie into the game. Took me around 19 hours to complete the story.

Pretty good. I don't really like turn-based RPG's, they add some quick time events to attack and defend, which are hit or miss, a lot of interactions have extremely awkward timing which makes it not so fun, when it works it adds some depth, but it misses more than it hits. The "magic" (farting), is unbearably annoying to use in combat, I essentially never used it. The RPG mechanics are okay, but fairly basic and the variety of play isn't great.

Why is it a thumbs up if mechanically it's not great? It's a 10-14 hour interactive episode of South Park, and for that, it's great. I'd put it around a 7/10 if you're a South Park fan. Definitely skip if you're not

This is a very good rpg. The timing in the combat from Mario RPG makes this more engaging than other old school rpgs. I'm a mild fan of South Park but I think this game is great even if you don't get all of the lore. If you are a South Park fan this is probably going to be your favorite video game.

I think, as a person who had played all the south park games this is the best one. The fractured but wholes fighting system was horrible, and snow day is just in general bad. This is the best south park game of them all.

The Stick of Truth is a surprisingly good RPG, and I wasn't expecting that from a licensed game. However, it's made by the developers who worked on Fallout New Vegas so I can't be too surprised. It is a fantastic game all the way through, and one of the best ways I've seen someone describe this game was, "A 15 hour South Park Episode". Seeing the show before playing definitely clues you into jokes and running themes but I feel anyone could enjoy this game regardless of prior knowledge.
