Redneck Kentucky and the Next Generation Chickens will introduce into the world of cartoony humor and intense action, giving you an exceptional replayability factor. Players have a great array of weapons at their disposal, they can also collect eggs which are located on the maps and activate special bonuses. The UNREAL engine ensures outstanding audio and visual effects, KARMA provides realistic physics model, whereas the SPEEDTREE technology is responsible for the high quality of animated foliage.
- Clucking little monsters are hard to catch – you will have to do some serious running around.
- Chickens are no pacifists, either. Mind the dangerous flying potatoes.
- Quick selection of the shooting position, a peer through the scope and precise head-shot right in the feathery head will do just fine!
- Can you imagine a better bonus than depriving the ugly chick of their eggs?

cute game but it shows it's age. there are much better FPS's out there and i felt there should have been more things in the background to shoot. don't get me wrong there are some things other than chickens to shoot but with this kind of game i felt there should have been more. it's fun making chicken nuggets but it does get old after a bit.
p.s. this review is negative to counter all the fake positives ones.
accessed my microphone randomly at some point but otherwise it left my jaw on the floor from the absolutely stunning visuals, and the extreme detail in the textures of the chickens. they are also violently afraid of the weapons of choice you use to bring upon their untimely demise and run away when you are 6 feet away from them. all around i have been left in utter disbelief by the absolute ability at which man is able to create such stunning pieces of digital media.
one of the most shocking shooters I have ever played also the chicken models come from the back in the barnyard film LMAO
Was 10 years sober of wife beating and child abuse and this game made me relapse... THANK GOODNESS!

Surprisingly a much more engaging score attack shooter than I had expected. The basic premise is you have 5 minutes on each map to hit a certain score. You have a shotgun, a sniper rifle, a minigun, and a rocket launcher, and all four weapons feel pretty good, though you'll mostly stick to the shotgun and sniper since the minigun and rocket launcher have scarce ammo, but are still useful in places (ammo pickups do respawn but not every level has every kind of ammo). The shotgun in particular feels a lot like the Quake 3 shotgun which is awesome and it does feel satisfying to lob a rocket into a huge group of chickens all congregating around a bag of feed.
Getting the basic score requirement to beat each level isn't particularly hard, and I only had to retry the the "last" level of the main campaign once or twice and passed the rest on the first try, but I'd argue simply getting through the basic campaign isn't the real point of the game. The real game kicks in when you realize that to unlock the final level you need a total of 70,000 points across all levels to encounter the true final boss and this is where the game's nuances really start to shine.
Getting the kinds of scores needed to unlock the final level is actually a challenge and I found myself replaying the levels several times, which I didn't mind because grinding for score is actually fun. It's also nice to revisit the early levels with your unlocked weapons which again points to the idea that hitting 70,000 is the real game, because those earlier maps open up a lot more once you have everything unlocked. As I played each level over and over, I found myself becoming more attuned to the game's strategies. Shooting a chicken from a farther distance gets you more points, but chickens also drop eggs sometimes which can be just as valuable, so making sure you have a way to get to your kill easily from a distance is important. Each level has different elements and gimmicks that can also add up to big bonuses, such as the eight beer cans which, if shot, grant an extra thousand points (which is a big deal when you're trying to grind an average of 10k points per level) and the final can is usually pretty well hidden. One level has a conveyor belt that needs to be attended to that feeds eggs into cartons (for extra points) and some levels have scarecrows you can shoot to scare out extra chickens. All the different elements really keep you busy running around the maps attending to different things that either need to be found, shot, or protected and it's an enjoyably active game. In addition to chickens, there are also ground varmints that will try and sneak off with eggs or other important items, and these can be kicked which is also hilarious.
The game generally ran well, though the two video cutscenes didn't have any picture so I had to look up the opening and ending on Youtube, and the resolution selection is pretty limited so I just kept it at 1280x1024 (I usually play 4:3 games at 1920x1440 but this wasn't an option). Other than that it ran fine.
This might look like a corny shovelware game, but it's actually an engaging, satisfying score attack game and I actively enjoyed trying to beat my best scores to eke out those last few points to unlock the final boss. The weapons are fun, the maps are thoughtfully designed, and there actually is a good sense of challenge to it once you start trying to really score attack the game. I always appreciate a good cartoony shooter and I really enjoyed the wacky vibes it offered. It might not look like much at a glance, but this really is a fun hidden gem that's worth playing if you want something short and sweet.
(also I'm pretty sure I heard some duck noises during the final boss, what are they up to?)
