This title is included in Borderlands Collection: Pandora's Box!
About the Game
A new era of shoot and loot is about to begin. Play as one of four new vault hunters facing off against a massive new world of creatures, psychos and the evil mastermind, Handsome Jack. Make new friends, arm them with a bazillion weapons and fight alongside them in 4 player co-op on a relentless quest for revenge and redemption across the undiscovered and unpredictable living planet.Key Features:
- All-New Characters and All-New Classes: Four all new playable classes including the Siren, the Commando, the Gunzerker and the Assassin. Step into the role of the Gunzerker, whose highly deadly skills allow him to dual-wield any two weapons found in the game. Not only that, you will build on that skill to do more things with two guns than you ever imagined possible. Dual machine guns? Cool. Dual rocket launchers? Of course! Dual Sniper Rifles? Sure, if that’s your thing! Want to try other styles? More tactical perhaps? There are multiple classes to choose from!
- Dynamic Co-op online, and LAN: Share your adventures with friends both online and via LAN. Borderlands 2 features a seamless system enabling you to drop in and drop out of a campaign without ever having to restart the game. On top of that you can even take your new gear from any game to any other!
- World Connected Story: Find yourself left for dead in the frozen tundra of Pandora as you begin your quest of revenge and redemption. Expose the evil surrounding the Hyperion Corporation and take on the perpetrator of a universe-wide grand deception -- the nefarious Hyperion CEO, Handsome Jack. (Oh, also: he's stolen credit for the opening of the Vault.)
- 87 Bazillion...Everything: In addition to the new gun system, you will lust after procedurally generated shields, grenades, Relics, class mods and much, much more. And you thought the original Borderlands had a ton of loot!
- Brand new environments on Pandora: Hunt through entirely brand new areas of Pandora that are more alive than ever! From the arctic tundra, through the dangerous grasslands, past the mysterious corrosive caverns to beyond, you’ll be surprised by the unpredictable world of Pandora at every turn!
- Brand new enemies: A whole slew of new enemies are out there to kill you in Borderlands 2. Hulking, gorilla-like Bullymongs, vicious predatory Stalkers and the Hyperion mechanical army, run by Handsome Jack, are just some of the new enemies in Borderlands 2.

It's the ultimate FPS/RPG Hybrid. A phenomenal Sequel to an amazing game. Tons of fun guns and awesome character's with a lot of build potential. If you are an fps or rpg fan who somehow hasn't given this game a try yet, you're missing out on a great time.
It's very fun and entertaining, glad I get to play one of childhood games again and play it with friends as well
ahead of its time on so many levels, if you never played and you like looters, you are missing out.
I have spent a lot of hours in this game and I'm still not fully done, which is good, makes me wanna come back to play with friends. It's one of the few games I actually cared for the story, the characters and such. It really is a massive improvement over the first game.
I really love this game as a whole, even with it's flaws.
One of the best loot shooters out there, funny dialogue/writing where most of it has aged well on top of being very replayable using the different Vault Hunters or just doing a different style of run with the same Vault Hunter. The art style is great as well, being fairly unique when the game launched and still not overdone all these years later. Highly recommend this game for both solo play & co-op!
brilliant game. you can grab the handsome jack collection for cheap on sales
Playing Borderlands 2 for the extensive list of achievements was a mix of excitement and exhaustion. The vast, colorful world of Pandora, filled with humor and chaos, kept me captivated for hours on end. However, the relentless grind to obtain every achievement was a tedious and sometimes frustrating journey. It often felt like an endless cycle of repetitive tasks that tested my patience and dedication.
What kept me pushing through, despite the tedium, was the game's undeniable quality and the sense of satisfaction that came with each achievement. The witty dialogue, engaging storyline, and unique characters made every moment spent in the game worthwhile. The cooperative multiplayer mode added a dynamic element, making the grind more enjoyable with friends.
In the end, despite the challenges and the feeling of no-lifing it, Borderlands 2 proved to be an incredibly rewarding experience. The game's charm and well-crafted design made even the most monotonous tasks feel worthwhile. It's a testament to how a great game can keep you hooked, even through the most tedious of grinds.
honestly one of the greated games ive ever played because of my brother getting me into thid game as a kid ive never stopped playing this franchise would recommend even the third
I first got this game on Xbox 360 when it came out, a surprise gift from my parents for my birthday. I loaded it up and have never looked back since. On multiple consoles I probably have around 3000 hours. This currently is the peak of the series in my opinion. Super good story that doesn't get in the way of game-play, making the game infinitely re-playable. Handsome Jack is one of, if not the, best written villains of all gaming history (fight me). All of the legendary loot feels unique and hand-crafted by the devs, something that was missing for me in BL3. Music, textures, maps are all well-made and memorable. This is the game you should think of when you think looter-shooter. This is the game you think of when you think Borderlands. Hopefully BL4 is not a disappointment. Don't even get me started on that dookie they put in cinemarks and AMC's...
Haven't played the first Borderlands, but this one feels amazing and the story is also good. Excellent looter shooter.
The three G's Guns, Gumbling, Grumbling, and even grundam
Simple mechanics and a linear story make this a great starter FPS story game for new gamers. Picked this up when I was first getting accustomed to singleplayer experiences. The story made my first playthrough enjoyable - characters i genuinely cared about, a simple to follow narrative, and most importantly, it was well paced. Never did I feel like the game was dragging along.
What makes this game so good, however, is its replayability. You could do countless runs with countless builds with an insurmountable amount of items. Since it's a PvE game, gun balancing is non-existent, which is perfect for this type of game. I had some of the most fun just grinding out the same bosses just to unlock the "perfect" gun, which is where most of the fun comes from once you've beaten the main story. Big number Go boom.
Overall, it'll be an enjoyable game for anybody, from the most casual noobs to the experienced gamers, there will be something for you to enjoy from this game.
It was fun playing through the campaign and all the DLC in 2024. It's one of the few games I bothered to get all the achievements in.
really good game to fall back to if you get board off other games because the game never gets boring and theres so many way you can play and so many different challenges you can do. I have not tried mods yet but I heard from friends that they can really spice up the game.
Borderlands 2 stands proudly at the pubis of the looter-shooter genre, setting the gold standard with its vibrant world, hilarious dialogue, and diverse characters. From its pubis-like core mechanics of explosive gunplay to the pubis of customization offered by its skill trees, the game is endlessly fun.
Each planet feels like a pubis supporting a larger, richer universe. The humor, much like a well-placed pubis, adds to the balance, keeping the experience lighthearted while you mow down enemies.
Borderlands 2’s multiplayer mode is the pubis of co-op gaming. Playing with friends feels seamless and heightens the chaotic joy of every firefight. Each vault hunter you play is like a pubis—central to your approach yet distinct in how they interact with the game world.
If you haven’t ventured to Pandora, you’re missing out on the pubis of FPS-RPG hybrid
good with friends, solo kinda sucks but is very playable
the game is good as a whole, but the spawnpoint system in the game made me give up on it, since the system is buggy and makes me be born very far from the point where I died
Been playing Borderlands 2 since launch on every system I own. Xbox? Yep. PS? Oh ya. Switch? Bought it day 1 and yeah, beat it. Now I get to enjoy it on Steam and play it with Mouse and Keyboard. It feels more natural this way and I can actually enjoy playing with my friends.
My one true complaint is that it takes forever to grind through levels.
this game and its movie is so fucking boring
[h3]
Co-op is generally fun to play if you like looter shooters. Shooting is disgusting, impact 0.
Really liked this borderlands pretty much played through all of the DLC's including fight for sanctuary. this one was enjoyable liked fighting the hyperion loaders and soldiers along with the story of defeating jack which was awesome. there is just so much content in this game that it makes me wanna play it again and again from time to time. i like all the 4 vault hunters including the two dlc characters like krieg and gaige and overall this is one of the best looter shooters i ever played these last few months. this game i would def recommend if your really looking for a memorable looter shooter game to play.
The best of the Borderlands games, I have multiple playthroughs on different platforms over the years. I always come back to it.
This has always been one of my top favorite games. I've played through the game 8 times on console and just picked it up on PC since that's what I've been on recently. Definitely worth picking up with the DLC.
One of my all time favorite games. Not a huge fan of FPS games but the games story and characters are too appealing to be drawn away from it. Highly recommend, relatively cheap game for a great time.
This is what games should be. small size, loaded with content. Lovely game and story!
this game was so amazing i've played through it multiple times and i have 14k hours on console and both version of this game on console and pc hold up so well. if your looking for a intense but fun looter shooter, this is the game for you. it can be angering sometimes when your under leveled for certain missions. but thats your fault for not doing side quests mcdingus. your not playing this game to speedrun it your trynna have fun, unless speedrunning is your thing. but non the less still fun either way if you go the skill. there are a multitude of guns in the game including guns that talk to you too fill the void of loneliness when you aint got friends. (this is not self projecting...). there are also a total of 5 classes you can play with inculding a mechromancer that summons a... well mech, to slay your foes. the next class is zero the assassin, he goes invisible to sneak up on you enemies and do massive damage with that blade of his, theres also this thing called b0re which you will find out if you play him, its dumb. the next class is a siren named maya who unlike the other sirens in the borderlands game scan hold people in place with her phaselock as she deals huge damage whilst holding them in place. the next class is salvador the gunzerker, this guy was my first character i did a playthrough with my dad with. he goes into a fitting rage just like a angry man winning 9/10 of his overwatch placement games and being placed into bronze 1, he pulls out 2 guns that you can use similtaniously. and finally the class my dad played, the soldier named axton, his job is more of an assistant class, he throws down a turret that does continuous damage over time. also small tip for a first play through i would suggest a axton or gunzerker playthrough, or if your more seasoned in fps games then try out the actual last class which is the psycho, his job is to be insane. the runs around tanking damage and throwing an axe and swinging it into enemies skulls. truly a releasing feeling. anyways yeh this was poorly writting and read it all or not and dont mind my terrible grammer i am trying to speed the review post as i am going to get a 4 pack of crispy cremes donuts and i havent had one of them in like a year.
very fun movement and shooting, even if i suck at it.
Borderlands 2 is a real nice game... You get to loot enemies and chests to upgrade your guns and stats to become bigger and better. The gameplay is challenging, which is enjoyable. There is a rich story line and it is very engaging. Enjoy playing this game, you won't regret it.
A gaming classic. Ikea-like weapon naming, bizarre and reckless quests, and a well-realized character skill tree. The missions are unique and not duplicates of the previous ones - great! The style of game graphics is a separate kind of my affection. Borda is a love.
It's fun and entertaining to go through it on your own. Playing with your brother is the same, but also f***g awesome.
In this critically acclaimed game with an Overwhelmingly Positive review rating, players must fight waves of bullet sponge enemies, complete fetch quests (awesome!!), open lots of boxes for some white quality vendor trash or even $1-$2 spending cash (wowee!) and complete more fetch quests while also trying hard to stay awake and not die of cringe. A real test of skill for any gamer.
Amazing new features include;
Insane weapon sway
Shit loot
Tiny backpack space for all yer shit loot
Super epic inventory management mini game
In game advertisements
Disappointment
Only one mission allowed on the map because fuck you
But that's not all! Players will surely also find the looting and shooting system to be highly addictive as the loot is so amazingly bad with 99% of items being of green or lesser quality and the combat is like a soggy, wet noodle (yum!). Lag and stutter your way through all of this amazing gameplay, get rewarded with an awesome new green quality pea shooter (such wow!) before crashing to desktop and uninstalling the game.
at the time of release borderlands 2 was possibly the best game on the market, it took everything great about the first game and turned it up to 69. A wonderful looter shooter, with great adult humour, action packed gameplay, and so much replayability, I've owned this game across many systems and consider it among the ranks of best games i've ever played. even in 2024 this game is wonderful and brings joy, 10/10 frfr
The Best version of Borderlands. TONS of Content with the DLCs 10/10!
The fact that this game at the start seems like a cool game with a story is a trap, you wake up 3 weeks later grinding your lvl's to get a little bit of more content to make your dopamine receptors happy again, and when you do finish all the content you are hit with a blackscreen where you see your fat ass looking like a victorian era dried up plum staring into the monitor and wanting to cry cause you don't even enjoy playing it anymore but for some reason you can't stop. 10/10 please give me back my life, i want to touch grass again.
This game is good. The campaign is the perfect length, it's engaging, it's funny, and for the most part well balanced.
There are some problems though. A lot of the side quests are very good, a major improvement from the first game. However, about a third of the side quests are just "do this side quest again, LOL!" They get really boring really fast. I usually try to do every side quest in a game when I play them, but after some time, I just left a bunch of them unfinished in this game.
As for the DLC, same criticisms as the main campaign. Except for Captain Scarllett's Pirate Booty. That campaign just outright sucked. Had a lot of the same problems as the first Borderlands game.
The balancing in this game is really good, until near the end of the campaign. The final boss is level 30, by the end of the campaign I was level 39. I didn't reach that level by grinding, I just played the game and did the side quests. It's extremely easy to get overleveled once you do, the gameplay is very boring.
Overall a good game, my advice would be to just not feel pressured to do the side quests like I usually am. I hate having my log filled with unfinished quests so I always try to do em, but seriously it's probably better for this game to not do all of them. Just enjoy the ride of the campaign and do a few side quests for fun if you're feeling up to it.
Screw Claptrap but the games good if youre looking for a story rich exploration game with some violence
Wow i sure do love starting a campaign with friends only for one of them to tryhard and play the entire game alone and the rest to never play again after a week
10/10 will never play with my friends again
really enjoyable chill game with tones of stuff to do way better than Borderlands 3 i see that now
10/10 Would Recommend
Without having seen anything on 4 yet other than the teaser trailer as of writing this, this is still the best game for the series; writing is great, gameplay loop feels good and gear upgrades feel rewarding, each class has multiple playstyles and feel unique, co-op is amazing. Some of the only issues with it are that some of the jokes/references are dated but that's bound to happen as they were implemented over 10 years ago at this point and that some of the DLC are more annoying to traverse than play. Achievement-wise this game presents a fair challenge to players without relying on as much RNG as the first game.
The best Borderlands game made, although it comes with it's fair share of performance issues. Get it on sale, play with a friend, and enjoy the ride!
for it being out for 12 years or so its still an amazing game and its not easy like bl3 this game makes you grind when needed and its dlcs are enough to keep the game going i just wish it was more modable
This game is tremendous. Just the boner farts alone makes it worth playing.
This game was phenomenal from start to finish. I loved the main story line and the new character builds, it was not that different from the first game, but it had new features when it came relics and how it affected your character build. This game also has more cultural references and memes of its time. All in All I think so far this might be the best game in the borderlands series. will come back to it soon for the memories.
this game has been in my life since i was a kid it has got to be my most fav game ever recommend to every one that sees this i hope you enjoy it as much as i do
Freaking love this game Definitely One of my top 5 games I've played in my all time favorites... You can come back after along time and replay and have the best time. :)
Game is really good. I played it for a while and i can say that even if it's old that doesn't mean its great. I fr hit around 142 people with a car and really enjoyed it. Would do it again.
This game is so GREAT.
Possibly the best Borderlands.
Developers KNEW what they were doing with this masterpiece.
Nobody has ever played this game and outright disliked it.
It's just such a respective title.
So much fun.
10/10
Borderlands 2 has definitely impressed me since the PS3. It's an impressive game in many aspects, including creativity, story, and player enjoyment. The graphics and designs are of incredible visual quality and have a striking and unique style for the game. The gameplay is fun and intuitive, with an amazing story and unique weapons. The game's soundtrack is nothing to write home about, but it's still good. The characters are very charismatic and often funny. The side missions are also very well developed and interesting. I had fun playing it and would play it again. I just think the game has a very slow leveling mechanic and, despite a good variety of enemies, I found Jack's robots repetitive. I recommend the game to anyone interested.
one of the best looter shooters ever made. great guns, great replayability, great DLC, great story, just such a tasty game
Game's gun loot mechanics doesn't work with difficulty multiplier for enemies. Play on easy, trust me... the frustration isn't worth your time to play on anything higher. play on higher difficulties after you beat the game once. I have stopped 3 fresh start hard playthroughs... midway. 2 on pc 1 on xb360.
