Borderlands Collection: Pandora's Box
This title is included in Borderlands Collection: Pandora's Box!
About the Game
A new era of shoot and loot is about to begin. Play as one of four new vault hunters facing off against a massive new world of creatures, psychos and the evil mastermind, Handsome Jack. Make new friends, arm them with a bazillion weapons and fight alongside them in 4 player co-op on a relentless quest for revenge and redemption across the undiscovered and unpredictable living planet.Key Features:
- All-New Characters and All-New Classes: Four all new playable classes including the Siren, the Commando, the Gunzerker and the Assassin. Step into the role of the Gunzerker, whose highly deadly skills allow him to dual-wield any two weapons found in the game. Not only that, you will build on that skill to do more things with two guns than you ever imagined possible. Dual machine guns? Cool. Dual rocket launchers? Of course! Dual Sniper Rifles? Sure, if that’s your thing! Want to try other styles? More tactical perhaps? There are multiple classes to choose from!
- Dynamic Co-op online, and LAN: Share your adventures with friends both online and via LAN. Borderlands 2 features a seamless system enabling you to drop in and drop out of a campaign without ever having to restart the game. On top of that you can even take your new gear from any game to any other!
- World Connected Story: Find yourself left for dead in the frozen tundra of Pandora as you begin your quest of revenge and redemption. Expose the evil surrounding the Hyperion Corporation and take on the perpetrator of a universe-wide grand deception -- the nefarious Hyperion CEO, Handsome Jack. (Oh, also: he's stolen credit for the opening of the Vault.)
- 87 Bazillion...Everything: In addition to the new gun system, you will lust after procedurally generated shields, grenades, Relics, class mods and much, much more. And you thought the original Borderlands had a ton of loot!
- Brand new environments on Pandora: Hunt through entirely brand new areas of Pandora that are more alive than ever! From the arctic tundra, through the dangerous grasslands, past the mysterious corrosive caverns to beyond, you’ll be surprised by the unpredictable world of Pandora at every turn!
- Brand new enemies: A whole slew of new enemies are out there to kill you in Borderlands 2. Hulking, gorilla-like Bullymongs, vicious predatory Stalkers and the Hyperion mechanical army, run by Handsome Jack, are just some of the new enemies in Borderlands 2.

Its an amazing game, could be argued that its the best in the franchise. Its got humor, its got a pretty good story line, its fun, the enemies aren't too hard, and if they are grinding isn't terrible. Its overall got everything that makes a game great.
One of THE BEST games out there. Too much fun, too much action, too much too muches
What is there to say? It's Borderlands 2. Great story, characters, dialogue, weapons, skills, sidequests, co-op, DLC... Just great everything. One of my favorite games of all time. My wife doesn't play games and she played through the whole game and enjoyed it. It's great for experienced players and casual ones alike.
People gush about this game all the time and it really is all it's cracked up to be. The gunplay is a little lacking compared to later titles but still good, and the character progression is great, with plenty of abilities to set your Vault Hunter apart. What really shines is the atmosphere and story, which has that crazy Borderlands flair that one might expect and doesn't always make sense, but the rule of cool prevails and the emotional beats are more resonant than in any other Borderlands title.
Not sure why its taken me so many years to write a review.
This is my most played game on steam, and probably of all time.
Game-Play may be a little stiff these days. But is still thoroughly engaging.
Each character is fun to play (though I mainly play as Siren).
The Gunzerker being the cream when you want to go charging through the game.
But its the story and the additional content that has had me playing this for many years over and over again.
The pacing slows in a couple of places, but overall the story is great, the villain perfect.
The side characters funny, unique and engaging. The Side-Quest are varied.
Then the DLC's, while not all perfect, are great additions with lots more content and unique items/weapons.
I never knew the appeal of Farming before playing this game.
I use some mods now to freshen it up a little.
But vanilla it still a perfect game.
Very easy to recommend. Its truly Lightning in a bottle.
Borderlands 2 Review: "Guns, Loot, and Glitches for Days"
Playing Borderlands 2 is like diving into a chaotic carnival of mayhem, humor, and loot—and occasionally falling through the floor because the map forgot to exist.
The gun variety is insane. Want a shotgun that shoots rockets? Sure. A sniper that screams insults? Why not? The story is top-tier, with Handsome Jack stealing the show as one of the best villains ever.
But let’s be real—this game isn’t perfect. You’ve probably experienced a bug or two (or twenty). Got stuck in terrain? Check. Enemies glitching into immortality? Classic. But honestly, the chaos just adds to the charm.
Despite the quirks, Borderlands 2 is a masterpiece of co-op fun, loot grinding, and sarcastic robots.
9/10—would glitch through a wall chasing loot again.
Both this and the Pre-sequel are severely busted. This one you have to legit downgrade to get to not loop in the start menu due to an update to use SHIFT their cross play feature breaking both this and the pre-sequel. I played a lot with friends on these games before and it is sad how broken they are. You have to legit do a lot of modding and adjusting to get them to run. Also you need to launch this to fix issues with the pre-sequel not launching prior to launching the pre-sequel. These should be working from the get go right from install and let you play co-op without these issues. Also local co-op should have been a thing like consoles for all these entries cause using a 3rd party app to play local co-op is insulting.
As for the game its fun to do the single player story but not enjoyable without friends.
i own the switch port and it was good but this one is better because the dlc an the fackt i got it with the pre sequal and its dlc
10/10 definitely a top 20 story game of all time

This game created the idea of loot shooter and B2 remains my favorite entry. I think it has the best villain in Handsome Jack. I found the over-the-top visuals of Borderlands 3 completely distracting, if not blinding.
All around the Sta-actus plant, the stalker chased the bandit. The stalker thought 'twas all in fun. POP!
...
Goes the bandit! :3
(really good game if u like shoot em ups with corny out dated jokes, a annoying robot, and undefined loot tables!

Enjoyable and fun to play with friends. Collect, collect, collect!
Hundreds of hours on PS5. Still one of the greatest games of all time, even in 2025. PC benefits from even faster load times for farming bosses.
Just get the game. If you have to play only 1 Borderlands game, play this one. It contains all the meat and juice and potatoes that you need. The core of the story is there. The best of the gameplay. The best weapons. The best ambiance. The best music. They peaked here. The other games were just trying to reach that level of perfection, but you can only fly to the sun once.

It's been said before and it'll be said again, BL2 is one of the greatest games of all time. It certainly has it's issues, but there's a reason it's been one of the games that have kept Gearbox alive.
Dunno how i never reviewed this game. While the writing gets more and more dated each year, this was and probably always will be the overall best BL2 game. Lets hope they learned from BL3 and keep the good systems but not the writing
Borderlands 1 man?? HELL YEAH DUDE. Borderlands 2 with all the DLC?? HELL YEAH DUDE. Borderlands 3 and the announcement of Borderlands 4? HELLLLLL NOOO DUUUUUUUUDE. The fact I have to sign up for some BS "ShiFT" service?? HELLLLLL NO DUDE
Playing the game from the start with friends again. It never gets old.
Played originally on PS3, on/off since but did most of my hours in my teenage years.
Brought my first NON gaming laptop to its knees, good times.
Great game, was able to recover my oldest save! However I still have an issue with my internet not being picked up so I can only play with wifi (that isn't mine and that is utter shit). Gearbox pwease fix it meow !!!
If you haven't played this game I highly recommend it, things go boom boom, music goes hard and it's kinda funni. However, the humor is a bit silly at times, so it might not be for everyone..
ALSO It's not hard to play even on solo, maybe UVHM can get rough but still fun!
Story: Well written story with memorable characters and funny dialogue.
Visuals: Amazing cel shading style that makes it feel vibrant and colorful. Beautiful environments all across pandora.
Gameplay: Engaging and fun combat with an amazing skill tree system thats lets you create cool builds for your characters. Along with nice customization for characters. Like every other game, Co-op with a friend can make things so much more fun.
Cons: Some people might find it repetitive with the whole shooting and looting.
Humor can sometimes feel forced lol
One of the best sequels in gaming history !
I have been playing this since the ps3 and now i have been playing it on the pc i have to take breaks from it but it is still an amazing game
Very good game, great story, guns and bosses
It’s a little bit dated now but still an absolute classic. I buy it every time I get a new console. Just bought recently since I’ve gotten Steam to.
I have owned this game on multiple consoles plus PC so I definitely enjoy it every time I play. It is a fun game that you can definitely have fun on your own but the best experience is when you run it with friends on subsequent playthroughs if you already are well acquainted with the story. There is endless fun to be had plus so many guns and builds for each character you play that you will keep coming back for extra playthroughs.
This game is the best I had so much fun on play station with my dad and it is also lots of fun on pc 5stars.
I personally perfer just about every aspect of the original, but gameplay wise this is solid, there are some great classes to play as and it is an exspansive game.
But if you are coming to this from 1, maybe do so being aware that the tone of this (and all future games) is very different, they lost any ability to be subtle and so often beat singular jokes over your head time and time again and the villian (and his many, many reincarnations not just in this game and dlc but in sequels/prequels) is to me one of the singular most overrated villians of all time. He's a worse version of Lucien from Fable 2 (down to how they handle the end even) a game released a couple of years prior to this. Frankly I go into this game for the gameplay alone (which I still maintain takes some missteps from 1, with the gun play and even loot parts system being less robust then its previous entry), thank heavens for the mute button because replaying this would be far too grating otherwise, and even then is a little because there is a bit much of this game, not just the 3 playthoughts or the 10 "OP levels" across 6 characters, but far too much DLC repeating identical quests stories and jokes.
i love this game and all but screw you if i can get disconnected for playing single player, for god's sake just add a offline mode that way i dont get sent right back to the main menu right in the middle of doing something. like i said, love this game, played it by myself on my xbox and it was great, but not only does it send me back to the menu but it also keeps trying to make an online session for literally no reason at all and then it goes on literally forever. so i have to restart the damn game and lose progress because of something out of my control. screw you gearbox. Add. An offline. Mode. And whats even worse is the fact that ill probably keep playing it.
Masterfully written story with some amazing co op elements attached, and one of the best video game villains!
Great gunplay, excellent characters, and the villain might be the best in video game history.
An all time classic and the best the looter shooter genre has to offer. Unique characters, crazy guns, and almost endless variety for builds... at least until you hit UVHM.
UVHM is really the only downside to the game, at least depending on how you view it. You trade in variety for strategy, playing a numbers game instead of a looting game.
Personally, I enjoy both styles of gameplay. It's just as fun using whatever random gear you get and making it work as it is to sit down and theory craft viable builds to outpace health regen and ensure survival.
I truly don't think BL2 will ever be topped, it's one of the games I always find myself itching to start a new character on.
Alright, listen up, vault hunters: this game is bananas. Borderlands 2 is basically what happens when a first-person shooter and an RPG get smashed together at a rave, and then someone throws in a truckload of guns and a psycho yelling, "MEAT BICYCLE!"
First off, the story is chef’s kiss. Handsome Jack is one of the best villains ever—he’s hilarious, smug, and you’ll love to hate him while he’s roasting you mid-mission. The humor in this game is top-tier. Claptrap’s still out here being an annoying little toaster, and the NPCs? Pure comedy gold. I’m looking at you, Tiny Tina. Explosions + tea parties = iconic.
But let’s talk gameplay. The gun variety is insane. You’ve got guns that shoot fire, guns that explode, and even guns that insult you. Found one that screamed at me while reloading, and honestly, I felt judged—but it was worth it. The skill trees for each class are super customizable too. Wanna be an invisible sniper ninja? Done. Prefer a turret that does all the killing while you watch? Easy.
Oh, and co-op? Absolute chaos. Solo’s great too, but trust me, this game shines when you’re yelling at your friends because they stole your legendary loot drop.
The visuals still slap, even years later. That comic-book style? Timeless. And the music? Gets your blood pumping while you’re mowing down bandits or taking on a massive raid boss.
TL;DR: If you like ridiculous fun, crazy guns, and jokes so dumb they’re genius, Borderlands 2 is THE game. Just get it. You can thank me later. (And don’t trust Claptrap, seriously.)
10/10 – Would loot and shoot again.
Loved this game, time and time again. Fun to play solo, even better with friends! Lots of fun adventures, lots of guns, character customizations, funny lines and quotes, and great story. The DLC's are worth the buy, either at full price or on sale if you enjoy the game. They add loads more content and hours of more fun game time.
The game is mostly a treat, with some mechanics I didn't like. The looter-shooter mechanics are certainly a treat, a little like a single-player Fortnite. And I found the characters very compelling indeed. But I felt that the weapons had zero weight, which made gameplay a little unnatural-feeling. And I couldn't write a review worth its salt without mentioning the unique art style, which I loved. Overall, I'd recommend it pretty confidently with a 9/10 score.
It is a lot of fun and while I may only have a few hours on PC I have played hundreds of hours (if not thousands) and have had fun all the while.
I hadn't played a Borderlands game since Tales from the Borderlands on the Playstation 3 with the free version.
And I can say that I got to know the franchise better thanks to Borderlands 2.
Because it's one of the most satisfying games to play, you have your character, your weapons, evolve, climb XP levels... It's really fun to play.
By far the best in the franchise (so far)

Great game, very great game. The jokes are funny, the gameplay is fun and engaging, the graphics are stylized and help differentiate the game from other games from it's time, and my favorite part was when I was told to kill myself by the main villain 5 minutes into the game! Doing a second playthrough to get the most outta this.
I've put too much effort into trying to enjoy this game. I couldn't find out where to go in basically every place I went. There was this one mission (forgot it's name) that I couldnt find out where the hell to go. I searched and searched but I couldn't. I checked the map, followed the Objective Marker, and there was no way I could get to there, it's so diififcult. I tried restarting the game from the start, but then I got stuck on the second (or first if you exclude tutorial boss) bossfight because it was too difficult to beat. Definitely wouldn't recommend this nobody.
Awesome game, have had some issues when switching what monitor i play on but other than that the game runs perfectly.
Borderlands 2 has always been one of my favorite games of all time, let alone the Borderlands franchise. I love the gameplay, the characters, the writing, and the replay-ability. This is a game I've come back to time and time again and I don't see that stopping any time soon
Still plays just as well as when it came out. Love this game after all this time and can't recommend it enough.
Fun with friends (fun if you are alone too). Really brutal, and just fun overall
I absolutely love this game. When it was given away on Epic Games, I grabbed the DLC. I’ve played through it a couple of times and decided to complete my Borderlands collection on Steam. And you know what? Not all the DLCs are available for the Ukrainian region. You buy the Pandora Pack, but you don’t get all the content for the two Borderlands games. It's disappointing. I kindly ask the developers to fix this, as the money is spent, Borderlands is loved, but I can't enjoy the full experience.
7/10
Game is great but the Final boss forced me to lower my resolution to 1600:900 and put minimal on everything.
love this game so much, my dad and i used 2 play, i have so many great memories with this game, the story is so good, This is truly one of my favorite games ever created!!
Still great - crazy good DLCs as well
Borderlands 2 is straight up chaos in the best way possible. I jumped into this wild, cartoony world full of psycho bandits, epic loot, and non stop action. The humor? On point handsome jack is one of the most savage villains ever. The story isn’t super deep, but it does enough to keep you going. Honestly, the boss combat is where it shines. The shooting feels smooth, the abilities are fun to use, and the loot system had me grinding for hours trying to get the best gear. Playing with friends makes it even better because the co-op is fire. If you’re into over the top shooters with insane weapons and vibes, this game is a total W.
when you think of looter shooter you think of destiny, when i think of looter shooter i think of minecraft.
borderlands doesn't even come close, we are not the same.
I noticed that 10 DLCs are missing for Ukrainians in the Borderlands Pandora's Box for Borderlands 2.
