This title is included in Borderlands Collection: Pandora's Box!
About the Game
A new era of shoot and loot is about to begin. Play as one of four new vault hunters facing off against a massive new world of creatures, psychos and the evil mastermind, Handsome Jack. Make new friends, arm them with a bazillion weapons and fight alongside them in 4 player co-op on a relentless quest for revenge and redemption across the undiscovered and unpredictable living planet.Key Features:
- All-New Characters and All-New Classes: Four all new playable classes including the Siren, the Commando, the Gunzerker and the Assassin. Step into the role of the Gunzerker, whose highly deadly skills allow him to dual-wield any two weapons found in the game. Not only that, you will build on that skill to do more things with two guns than you ever imagined possible. Dual machine guns? Cool. Dual rocket launchers? Of course! Dual Sniper Rifles? Sure, if that’s your thing! Want to try other styles? More tactical perhaps? There are multiple classes to choose from!
- Dynamic Co-op online, and LAN: Share your adventures with friends both online and via LAN. Borderlands 2 features a seamless system enabling you to drop in and drop out of a campaign without ever having to restart the game. On top of that you can even take your new gear from any game to any other!
- World Connected Story: Find yourself left for dead in the frozen tundra of Pandora as you begin your quest of revenge and redemption. Expose the evil surrounding the Hyperion Corporation and take on the perpetrator of a universe-wide grand deception -- the nefarious Hyperion CEO, Handsome Jack. (Oh, also: he's stolen credit for the opening of the Vault.)
- 87 Bazillion...Everything: In addition to the new gun system, you will lust after procedurally generated shields, grenades, Relics, class mods and much, much more. And you thought the original Borderlands had a ton of loot!
- Brand new environments on Pandora: Hunt through entirely brand new areas of Pandora that are more alive than ever! From the arctic tundra, through the dangerous grasslands, past the mysterious corrosive caverns to beyond, you’ll be surprised by the unpredictable world of Pandora at every turn!
- Brand new enemies: A whole slew of new enemies are out there to kill you in Borderlands 2. Hulking, gorilla-like Bullymongs, vicious predatory Stalkers and the Hyperion mechanical army, run by Handsome Jack, are just some of the new enemies in Borderlands 2.

This game is worth to play for the gameplay/gunplay not the story.
10/10 best game in the series, high replayability, some of the best feeling gameplay mechanics with meaningful upgrades.
best game in the Borderlands franchise, it's visuals still hold up and it's game play is still very enjoyable
What a fantastic game I just completed. It might've taken me quite a while to beat it, and more time spent than the average player, but I truly had a fantastic experience. This game is wonderful, witty, and wild. I love getting to explore all of Pandora, trying to stop the nefarious Handsome Jack, while he pops in your ear occasionally to taunt you about how you're never going to reach your goal. While I am still undecided on if I am going to 100% this game or not, I will definitely be revisiting this game. Such a fun game.
very funny game alot too do for missions so far its the best looter game ive played than elden ring and also skyrim as well, and the fact its a shooting game as well we need more games like this, borderlands 3 was alright but ever since its just been going downhill.
Fun Mad Max Looter Shooter with funny characters and quests. It's like Diablo but with guns.
This one is difficult to judge for me. Although I generally enjoyed my time with it, I would not play or even buy this game again. But then again, I bought it during a sale for next to nothing and got nearly 40 decent hrs out of it, before I quit. So, I guess it is alright.
peak game, much better than borderlands 3, honestly mostly made this review to cement my 69 hours in it. still, get this game, with friends, its so fun.
Always fun to play with friends messing around or tryharding some raid bosses on high levels. Love almost everything about it.
Some minor gripes: enemies and quests levels don't scale on lower difficulties, can't reroll quest rewards, rarely enemies are just reskins of others, some characters don't scale well for a late game(most of this is fixable in community patch).
Time well spent that's for sure.
Best storyline game in the series ( obv opinion based )
Bl2 is the Borderlands title to play, you can easily skip Bl1 if you want and Bl3 is a mess, but this game has it all. Good story? Yep. Fun gameplay? Slightly dated but not bad at all. Interesting farming for those that want it? Plenty of it.
What a freaking good game. I've loved it since I started playing it. The jokes, the characters and almost everything on this game is stunning. I strongly recommend it if you wanna play something with a great lore, funny and catchy.
A fun looter shooter game with a selection of different characters and abilities fun in single player even better with friends. I highly recommend you get all of the DLC not only because of the great story but because playing the game without Krieg unlocked is just not the same. Krieg has the kind of crazy we all need a little bit of! :D
SHORT REVIEW : the second Borderlands keeps the same ideas of the previous chapter, a frantic FPS with a lot of humour, quests and items to use. Unfortunately, it keeps also the repetitive formula of doing dozens of quests without interest, killing thousands of enemies that are just there to fill the maps and trying to follow a storyline that falls in the boredom of cliches.
> Gameplay ( 6.8 / 10 ) : classic fzirst-person shooter, really dynamic and easy to play. Like a RPG, you can find many weapons of different rarities and stats, you gain experience when you kill enemies and complete quests to level up and gain new skills. However, game becomes repetitive soon: weapons and quests are always the same things recycled and adventure summarizes simply in "from point A to B, kill enemies, loot, take quest reward" and repeat. There are many improvements with items, statistics and abilities, but nothing noteworthy for a new chapter.
> Story ( 4 / 10 ) : storyline is pretty basic and unfortunately, even if there are many characters and missions to complete, is still empty and flawless like the previous chapter and there is no point to follow it.
> Aesthetics ( 6.4 / 10 ) : game has a nice toon style that matches perfectly the light and crazy mood. Many areas of the game lack details and sometimes maps are too empty, but there has been a nice improvement from the previous chapter, especially in cities and main zones, but there was needed a better work.
> Audio ( 6.3 / 10 ) : sound system is on the same line as the graphic. Few music tracks are repeated until exhaustion and sound design is generally mediocre. Nothing special to hear in this game. At least the characters' dialogues are of good quality.
> Difficulty ( 5.5 / 10 ) : I didn't find a real challenge in this game. Both in normal game and NG+ enemies' number and health make the game not more difficult but just more time-consuming. Few skills are notable, weapons look always the same, some are overpower, some others are just basic; most of the quests are simply boring.
> Overall Rating ( 5.8 / 10 ) <
Borderlands 2 is an incredible sequel that takes everything I loved about the first game and elevates it to new heights. The art style is stunning, with its vibrant, cel-shaded graphics that bring the chaotic world of Pandora to life. Every environment feels unique and engaging, making exploration a joy.
The game length is impressive, offering a wealth of content that kept me hooked for hours. With a staggering number of quests—main missions, side quests, and challenges—there’s always something to do. The endless farming for loot and challenges keeps gameplay fresh, making every session exciting. The replayability is fantastic, thanks to different character builds and the variety of playstyles.
One minor annoyance is the way you lose more money when you die, especially since the more you have, the more you lose. However, I never felt the need to hoard money, so it didn’t impact my enjoyment too much. Plus, collecting iridium as an alternate currency is a fun addition, giving players another goal to chase.
I really appreciate the developers for giving players infinite golden keys after the game fell out of rotation. It’s a great way to keep the excitement alive and reward dedicated fans.
The story is engaging, filled with humor and quirky characters that make each mission entertaining. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the dialogue and interactions. However, I do wish there were more RPG elements, like romance options, property purchasing and upgrades, or even weather changes to add depth to the world.
Borderlands 2 is a fantastic game that offers a rich experience filled with humor, challenges, and endless loot. It’s a must-play for anyone looking for an action-packed adventure that keeps you coming back for more!
More loot, more laughs, and way more explosions! Dive into Pandora’s mayhem with a cast of quirky characters, insane weapons, and Handsome Jack as the best villain ever. It’s fast-paced, hilarious, and packed with co-op chaos. If you like shooting things and collecting shiny loot, this is your paradise.
Borderlands 2 – A Hilarious and Addictive Journey in Pandora
Borderlands 2, released in 2012, is a masterclass in blending action, humor, and RPG elements, solidifying its place as a beloved title in the gaming community. With its unique cel-shaded art style, engaging gameplay, and unforgettable characters, this game offers an exhilarating experience that keeps players coming back for more.
From the moment you step into the chaotic world of Pandora, you’re met with a vibrant and visually stunning environment that perfectly complements the game’s quirky tone. The cel-shaded graphics give the game a distinct look, making every locale—from dusty deserts to lush highlands—feel alive and dynamic. The humor is woven throughout the narrative and dialogue, with memorable lines and absurd situations that provide plenty of laughs as you traverse the wasteland.
The character classes in Borderlands 2 are diverse and well-crafted, each offering unique skills and abilities that cater to different playstyles. Whether you prefer the brute force of the Gunzerker or the cunning of the Siren, there’s a class for everyone. The skill trees provide a satisfying depth to character customization, allowing players to develop their own playstyles and strategies as they progress.
The gameplay itself is where Borderlands 2 truly shines. The combination of first-person shooting mechanics and RPG elements creates a fast-paced and rewarding experience. The loot system is one of the game’s standout features, offering an incredible array of weapons, gear, and items. The thrill of discovering a legendary weapon or upgrading your arsenal is incredibly satisfying, and the randomized loot keeps players engaged and eager for more.
One of the most significant strengths of Borderlands 2 is its engaging storytelling and memorable characters. The antagonist, Handsome Jack, is particularly noteworthy, providing a charismatic and often hilarious foil to the player’s journey. The quests are well-written, often filled with humor and clever dialogue, making even the side missions enjoyable.
The cooperative multiplayer mode enhances the experience, allowing players to team up with friends to tackle challenges together. The synergy between different character classes adds a layer of strategy to gameplay, making cooperation not just beneficial, but essential for success in the more challenging encounters.
In summary, Borderlands 2 is a thrilling and entertaining adventure that masterfully blends action, humor, and RPG elements. Its vibrant world, diverse character classes, and engaging loot system create a captivating experience that resonates with players long after the credits roll. Whether you’re a solo player or teaming up with friends, Borderlands 2 is a must-play title that offers countless hours of fun and laughter. Dive into Pandora, embrace the chaos, and prepare for an unforgettable journey!
10/10 if you havent played it before whatre you doing with your life its a classic and a must play especially with friends
its not cracking any greatest games of all time lists but its a really solid and polished shooter. think we need more of those. would do some good. love morty
one of the best all time games lots of fun lots of laughs while playing best of the borderlands games in my opinion
This is one of the best games i've ever played. I've bought it on every console i've owned. in my opinion, this will always be a classic game
One of my first games on the 360, the godfather of looter shooters. Gameplay is great, a bit aged but still great. Skill trees and characters are all very interesting. I could play this game 100 times. 9/10.
i just want to run around with friends shooting bad guys with cool guns and fun class builds but the characters in these quests wont stop talking :(
if youre looking for a non-stereotype game this is what you want, to be added to your bucket list of badass games. It's fun, cool and surprisingly unexpected to be a game, although your in a game but your the real hero in this game you could stitch on how things would end, the game play. Keep playing until you've completed ton's of mission and test your first-person shooter skills. I highly recommend it.
I. Hate. This. Game.
It's terrible. 2k jerked supporters around for years with stingy key distribution and annoying nerfs. The characters are interesting but as the game evolved they were nothing like they were in the original release. Some of the DLCs are fun but most are just awful. If you can get a deluxe edition with all of the content, go for it if you like shooters, you might have fun.
I sure didn't.
One of my favorite games of all time. The guns, the characters and the game in general its really cool
Boderlands 2 is hands down the bext in its series. Every single thing that came after it is substantially worse.
After lots of started runs and drops, i finally finished it in 2024. Good game, old graphic. I played online years ago but prefered the offline campaign. Lots of side missions
Had around 1300 hours on the game on xbox and came to pc just to see the game still holds up, another situation in which a single game is better than any of the sequels .
peak game so good i love how fun it is with mods and without em.
This game is terrible. I honestly don't understand why people hold it in such high regard. I tried so hard to enjoy it, but I couldn't bring myself to finish the videogame. The music isn't good or memorable (other than Short Change Hero by The Heavy), most of the guns and items are worthless, the enemy design is repetitive and uninspired, the driving is janky, none of the characters are likeable. In fact, most of the characters are unbearable. The graphic style is mediocre and the character animation is crap. The story painfully basic and the 'comedy'. Holy sh*t, tell me this game was made between 2010 and 2014 without telling me. This was a complete waste of money and time. If you enjoy this videogame, I wish you the best. I wish I could refund this game, but no. I'm stuck with this mistake.
This game was probably fun to play when it came out but it has not aged very well. Boring gameplay if you don't play with friends.
If you havent played this game yet, do it. I have like 1000 hours in this game combined across my xbox and playstations before i got a pc and this game has so much replay-ability imo its so worth the investment, that i bought it like 4 times. Being able to mod it also adds more fun. The story is amazing, i would also recommend playing the other games in the series. (play BL4 at your own risk though, the story is.. a thing) The one thing i have a problem with this game would be trying to get past level 72 seems to require some farming to get a good enough build to actually fend for yourself (coming from a siren player btw), but i dont mind as much since theres still so much to do in the game before you even reach the point i did.
Its a classic game thats loads of fun with your friends. Dont miss out on the amazing gameplay funny charcters and incredible stories. Buy it BUY IT NOWWWW!!!!
been playing this game sense i was a little kid and have always loved the story and multiple different approaches you can take to beat the game, hopefully the next BL title gives BL2 some competition
IMO the ultimate Borderlands game would be 2's story/characters/world design with 3's movement, combat and graphical clarity. I guess what I really mean is a BL2 remake on the new engine. It's a no-brainer if BL4 flops but even if it doesn't I'd personally love to relive this childhood classic with modern graphics & gameplay.
Borderlands 4 should combine the gameplay of Borderlands 3 with the storytelling of Borderlands 2, and it would be the ultimate game of all time.
All time top 5 game. Loved it to bits. Fun, funny, in places challenging, many hours of gameplay and it rewards repeat playthroughs. 100% recommend.
Amazing game 10/10, would absolutely recommend to anyone who is into looter shooters.
This game has a really fun gameplay loop. The farming is the best part of the game by far. The parts aren't difficult to learn like it was in BL1, nor is it unnecessarily complicated like the anointments in BL3. OP10 is probably the worst part about this game, as it's just "Instead of making enemies have special attacks or higher quality guns, let's just make them bullet sponges and do 3 trillion damage". The story is good, but it's not something i pay attention in my playthroughs anymore.
Overall, the best game in the series, easy 8/10, only because vanilla without mods can provide unstable performance on modern hardware.
Also, fuck the Commander Lilith DLC. It massacred Voracidous and Hyperius.
TBH I don't play these kinds of games, but I got it for a college course (on video games). Violent and funny and violently funny, it definitely did what it set out to do.
The normal difficulty story was doable single-player, but the experience was definitely made for playing with others/friends. If only any of my friends played games in this genre. Definitely there's endgame content that's impossible without others.
Probably the best story in the franchise, and solid FPS gameplay. Worth every penny.
Great for loot hogging from sussy players who do all the work yes im refering to you nicco
The Game still holds up in 2024. It is an allaround great Game with a funny and interesting story.
Borderlands 2 is a complete game and one of a kind experience if you love shooters and fun gameplay. From the first borderlands where the story was average this time everything makes sense and is a lot better, Jack is a cool villain that breaths life in the single player story and if the first game had some great dlcs this time i believe they were even better.. but more of that later.

In terms of the single player campaign i think they did a really good job,i didn't expect from a game like this to provide this quality and depth for the single player experience. Yes i know it's the same concept where they focus on the fun gameplay and coop adventures but at the same time they improved a lot the missions and world design. And the improvements keep on rollin .. i really liked the voice acting, the humor and hilarious jokes are funnier. Some of side quests have plenty of references to other games and the Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage DLC is just Mad Max on steroids for me.
I really like the length of campaign, i think it might be the longest story of the series and arguably the best one. Shooting feels smooth again, picking a different character and talent trees provide a lot of replayability.
Speaking of length, the sidequests of the game are excellent and provide maybe 50% of the entire content so don't ignore those. The main campaign is about 30 hours long and if you add the dlcs and the time you'll spend playing co-op with friends you better prepare yourself for a long journey.

I need to mention also the graphics ,this game made me take so many screenshots because it's just beautiful ,the cartoon art is so good. I'm playing this in 2024..yes i know it's a little late but i'm lucky to play it with all the dlcs released ,without bugs and it doesn't feel or look old. I want to add the perk of getting this in a complete Borderlands bundle at a great price so if Pandora Box is getting another discount maybe you should buy it too because it's great value.
Earlier i praised the dlcs and i just wish we receive this level of content and quality in other games too. Each dlc is great and unique but in this short review i can't cover them all so i'll just talk a little about my favorite: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep.
This is a rare case where a content expansion can be at the same level as the main game and maybe even better. The concept of a game in a game is just great, the fun is just visceral. The mix of borderlands and D&D elements is a unique flavor, the jokes and the absurd story is a lovely chaos that i was so pleased about,Tiny Tina as a Bunker Master narrating was so funny for me.
In conclusion Borderlands 2 is great game that aged like a fine wine so if you're looking for a new adventure give this a chance and have fun!

Pros:
- Good story and excellent dlcs
- Enemy variety ,loot and huge arsenal of weapons
- Humor
Cons:
- Some enemies are bullet sponge later on the game,it takes too much time to kill them
- Difficulty can be harsh if you're a new player ,but that can be fixed if you spend some time learning builds and strategies
My review score
Story - 9
Gameplay- 10
Graphics-9
Sound - 9
Overall - 9.25
Absolutely phenomenal. Tremendously fun, a good challenge, and the sheer joy of opening several thousand boxes, lockers, other boxes, and crates.
Genuinely one of my favorite stories in a game, and the DLCs provide a good range of experiences; whether it's more plot you want, or farming for drops, or ramming against the wall of a new, frustrating boss fight with your friends, it's all around a good time and I think it's aged extremely well!
So go ahead! Grab it and go explore Pandora with your friends! :D
After playing Borderlands3.... Awesome Jack is so well written antagonist. Game has nice story (best of franchise), a lot of quests and story rich DLCs (with pirates too!) and good amount of really nice jokes.
Borderlands 2 is a great looter shooter, while the shooter aspect leaves a little to be desired in the moment to moment, the characters, world, and depth make up for it in spades.
The definition of looter-shooter. 9/10
Some of the funniest one-liners of any game I've ever played, laugh when you least expect too!
Enjoyable, but a little repetitive and music could be better for boss fights (there should've been more bosses). Otherwise a lot of fun with friends and artstyle is top notch. Lot's of weapons and accessories to choose from, places to explore and drive to. The night sky looks lovely.
Just wish I could travel to the ship in the sky near the moon...
A solid 8/10.
