good story and fun to play
Enjoyed this game when i first played it ages ago on my Xbox 360 and still got the same feeling when i replayed it on PC really liked it and can recommend for some nostalgia
this game gets me to another level of horny after i smoke up a gorilla finger with a philly cheesesteak. everything about this game is peak and its just as good as fucking WAW. I would absolutely watch woods and mason clap with no hands. this game makes me want to grow another umbilical and rip that motherfucker out cuz this game is so good
absolute blast from the past. Playing this in 2024... was moved to play this, since Black Ops 6 release, and wanted to follow the series timeline. It's an incredible game, and has aged v. well.
There was nothing wrong with this one I still just play this one. I don’t know why they needed to make 10 other ones. Plus I like killing nazi zombies better than killing regular zombies
campaign is top tier, as it is based in the cold war, and it is really fun to play
Still the best call of duty game to date. Man I really wish Activision would just remaster black ops 1 and 2 and release that instead of constantly giving us bad call of duty games each year.
There is zero reason for this game to cost $40 so long after release.
I remember playing Black Ops with friends on Xb360 years and years ago. Campaign was a blast, one of the better ones right up there with World at War as far as I'm concerned. So I saw it on a steam sale a while back and picked it up! Was still running Windows 10 at that point, it was shaky and crashed here and there, but it still ran regardless. Great!
I had to upgrade my rig this year 2024 to Windows 11 after my C-drive shat the bed, and finally, a while later in the year (NOvember as I'm writing this) I decided "Y'know? I want to play that campaign again" so I re-downloaded it, hit the start button aaaaaaand....nothing. "Updating executeable" is all I get. It sits there, does that for about 5 minutes, and then just goes back to "PLAY". Well Steam? I'd like to but apparently I'm not allowed to.
If you're on Windows 11, don't bother with this game. Unless there is some trick that I don't know about that I'm not doing. I wish that Battlefield Bad Company 2 was still up on the Steam store, I'd suggest that over this, as at least that one still works.
W game. But do NOT try to beat the campaign on max difficulty.

this is my childhood game, i remember playing with my older brother and dad, this game brings nothing but joy to be, i would recommend, i only have a few hours on it bcus its the pc version, a true black ops 1 experience is on the ps3 or xbox 360 10/10 game
Fantastic game, sadly unplayable now due to the risk of your machine being infected with malware, even when playing campaign or offline zombies. Absolutely incredible that Activision has not taken it off the Steam store yet in light of this. Sleep well, sweet prince - still the best COD ever.
The original. It still holds up and I still think the story is one of the better Call of Duty storylines.

Do not download this if you're planning on playing Multi-player mode. You can be hacked and it's filled with cheating modders. Go check out Steam or Reddit posts on this subject if there is any disbeliefs. Now I can't play more than 1 vs 1 in the training mode which is my only option as I don't feel safe playing multi-player mode, the only reason I bought this game! Not sure why but I select 9 vs 9 and the games starts 1 vs 1 every time.
really good game, enjoyed the campaign and zombies a lot, great lore and story, great exposition of the story and whole game aesthetic, game design, mechanics, and graphics
Amazing game. I first played this game at launch and it was a game I'd play over and over again. If you are looking into some gritty shooting games, I'd recommend this game as it has aged wonderfully.
It definitely has one of the best campaigns in the CoD franchise. The zombies mode is also great, and I like the weapons in BO1 more than the ones you have in BO3. But if you only play CoD for zombies, then you should probably get BO3 because it has more maps, perks, and features. I recommend buying this game on sale though, like any other CoD game.
Come on guys its black-ops, need i say more, this is the version that's meant to be played over and over again alone or co-op or pvp if you desire, online community is slimming down with a hopeful steady player base of real gamers who dont like any of the garbage that activision has in there bag of spoiled treats with its newly released ground up fresh call of duty deliverance that is being boasted over the community of terribly uninformed cheating players that ruined all new cod titles, so please dont remaster this, just get these classic cod communities back up and running with freshened and more strenghthen goals and replayability
Amazing campaign to play on Veteran difficulty other than two shitty parts that are luck based. Best cod campaign other than og mw2.

Despite it is a console port, controller support is very limited with no aim assist so stick with KB/M
Cold War is a soft reboot so everything in the terminal, half of the Black Ops 2 and the PS Vita's Black Ops Declassified are no longer canon to MW2019/Warzone timeline.
Honestly the best call of duty ever, insane crazy story,
very fun zombies, one of, IF not the best multiplayer's for call of duty. The economy/with the contracts is fun, no useless over the top grinding, unlock the weapon, buy any accessory/setup you want and just get going.
Its also the best zombies ever imo, before it got convoluted with weird stuff and over the top EE
One of the greatest campaigns along with one of the greatest zombies hands down, the zombies maps are manageable but also all the maps are fun to play, bored of zombies? challenge yourself, try to get a higher round than your best, take on one of the many community challenges such as no power, one box, and one wall weapon.
Campaign is really cool and the story line of the zombies mode is very interesting. I don't play a lot of multiplayer in cod games but this one was really good for the short time I've played it. 10/10 it's worth the 40 dollars.
Z-C Jim Bowie is a freak of nature holding up five lobbies, besides that its a great game when that abysmal shitter is offline.
I don't think i can put into words how much i love this game, brings back good memories; and if you play this game you most certainly will make memories to remember just like I have. The campaign's writing is that worthy of Shakespeare's time. The multiplayer was ahead of its time and would have you staying up late to get that next prestige. The zombies storytelling picks off here from what was started at world at war and does not fail to impress zombies fans. So would I recommend this to others? Absolutely even in today's times the love poured into this game is still felt while playing, something you cant get from games in today's age.
Regular price on steam is $54 CAD which is absolutely not worth it, especially since multiplayer is completely dead, but if you can get it on sale zombies and the campaign are fantastic.
The Black Ops series all started right here, and this game is a gem in the COD series as a whole. Most of us have already played this game for hundreds of hours on the 360 or the ps3, but for those who have never played: definitely purchase this (when on sale, or not, your choice), make sure you have a free weekend or maybe a few days off work, and just grind some multiplayer or zombies and you'll find it hard to shut the game off. Campaign is amazing, but the definite highlight of this game is the insanely fun multiplayer and zombies (more fun with friends 100%). It's a must buy, pretty much. 9/10
I think this is definitely the best among the rest of COD: Black Ops series.
It has awesome plot, though fictional and more like a bunch of conspiracy theories. But all facts can be stranger than fictions sometimes.
The cast of VAs are excellent!

What more can you ask for?
Less is more.
Unaltered, uncensored, raw form of the originals will always stay in demand, no matter what.
This one is the ultimate and point out that the classics will never be beaten. At all.
Plus, any kind of wars should be done only in gaming, spread peace, be kind and understanding more in real life.
Because war itself is ugly. There are no true winners. Both sides are equally suffering, especially the civilians.

The dedicated servers are unable to be rented anymore and the only ones remaining are grandfathered in, it’s only a matter of time until this game dies unfortunately.
It’s still got a couple servers that aren’t psychopaths (crouch servers i’m looking at you) but if an aimbotter hops in there’s nothing much you can do. Combat training is fun, if you don’t mind playing against bots, as you level up independently from MP, and you can play all of the glorious old maps again. Nostalgia aside; avoid this game unless it’s on a big sale.

I played this on the Wii for years in the past. The original Modern Warfare trilogy was pretty good fun outside of its multiplayer being hacked to Hell and back even during their prime, however... Treyarch's games during this same time period stood out yo me more, and I found myself spending more time on them. For me personally, Black Ops was Call of Duty's peak, and its sequel is also fantastic. Outside of campaigns, those two are the only ones I find myself going back to and enjoying in their entirety.
Highly recommend if you want to experience a great, non-predatory Call of Duty entry... Or even if you aren't somehow familiar with the franchise and just want an arcade-y military shooter in the style of an ~80s action film. Every mode is a fun time with plenty of content to keep you entertained, even without considering DLC.
An engaging campaign and the fun of multiplayer zombies. One of the best COD games.
40$ is a crazy high price for a game this old, multiplayer is by far cheat free which is a huge plus, ive found that the zombies playerbase seems to be rather small but it doesnt take a long time to find a squad. overall would reccomend especially if the price drops in the future.

It has been my favorite game since I was a little kid. It has a good plot and ending. This game and 2, will be the only good campaigns that aren't just some boring plots and continue in a rhythm that makes sense and won't overwhelm you. You won't regret playing it or starting with this game.

Black Ops is still the best campaign made for a Call Of Duty game. Treyarch put it all on the line for this game and it works so well.
I don’t wanna spoil anything but how they used previous characters from World at War was perfect and fits so well with the story. Also hearing fortunate son during one of the Vietnam missions was amazing. Was still an awesome game the 2nd time playing.
Not better than bo2 but still fun. Super challenging achievement hunting was fun!
