Love the MAGA energy and all the comic!
I'm all about political satire. I was looking for some cheap games to purchase & stumbled across this. For $3.99, America's Retribution isn't bad at all. In fact, its downright entertaining. Player 1 plays as Donald Trump. Player 2 plays as Mike Pence. Even though many of the sound effects sound like they were taken from other games (such as when enemies are killed it sounds like some of them are taken from C&C Red Alert & Mortal Kombat), they sound good. The soundtrack stands out. One of the other neat features is that you'll hear sound bytes from Donald Trump at various points in the game. As of 11-26-2022, the game hasn't been officially tested for Steam Deck. However, after downloading it & testing it out, it works. I would classify it as "playable".
As good as this game is, I do have some minor complaints. Maybe the developer can make the following changes:
1. I saw one review stating that the controls don't completely work. This is partially true. The game mentions that it has partial controller support. When using a controller, one has to use the D-pad to move the character. The analog stick does nothing. This should be adjusted. As for Control Options, there are only two options: Republican (controller) or Democrat (keyboard). There should be a third option called "Independent", which would allow you to completely customize controls.
2. The game is hard as all get out. You only get one life & unless I'm mistaken, there are no continues. There should be difficulty settings:
* Welfare (Easy - Fewer Enemies, Take Less Damage, More Ammo for Power-Ups, Health Items Recover more Health, Infinite Infinite Lives, Etc.)
* Employed (Normal - Normal Damage Taken, Descent Ammo for Power-Ups, Descent Health Recovery from Health Items, Limited Number of Lives, Infinite Continues, Etc.)
* Targeted (Hard - More Enemies, More Damage Taken, Less Ammo for Power-Ups, Little Health Recovery from Health Items, One Life, Fewer Continues, Etc.)
* On Your Own (Brutal - Enemies show no mercy, very little health recovery from health items, very little ammo for Power-Ups, One Life, No Continues, Etc.)
That being said this game is fun. Regardless of what side of the aisle you are on, the game is satire & nothing else. If you don't have a good sense of humor, are easily offended, or need a safe space then maybe you should move on. However, If you like Run 'N Gun style games (political or not), then I would recommend this game. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give it a 3.75.

To show that I can totally look both ways before passing through the isle (and because my game algorithm is now likely shot to hell because of political games like this), I decided I would leave a review for this game as well as some of the games antithetical to the greatness that is this meme.
Suffice to say, I enjoyed this one enough that I got the sequel. I was honestly not expecting much, but I will admit, this is kinda entertaining (specially for a few bucks).
Not politically relevant for today, but humorous and cringy stuff from the relevant time period. For a gag game, this actually appears to have some degree of effort put into it, and that makes it a generic run of the mill run and gun.
Why not spend a few bucks.
Lets Make America Great Again!
This game is a ton of fun but it is hard. It took me several days to beat the first mission.
Cons:
1) Hard.
2) If you die, you can only continue from the flash screen, you can't juts continue from within the game.
3) No way to save progress except the continue button.
3a) The continue button only works if the debt is below a certain number
3b) If you quit the game, the continue button no longer works and you have to start over.
Pros:
1. It features President Trump! The greatest American President in the history of the country and thus the world.
2. Tons of references to things I have forgotten about.
3. Kelly Ann Conway sometimes gives you a power up.
You can use a controller or a keyboard but the trouble is if you use the keyboard the start menu doesn't give you any clue what button to push to start the tutorial that tells you what keyboard keys or game controller buttons does what. This is a con if you don't have a game controller with your PC. If you have a game controller it is easy enough to figure out.
So far, I have made it through the first two missions. The third mission is a bit like Fantastic Voyage and so far, I haven't made it through that one because my hand starts to hurt after having to play the first two missions and then start over when I come back to the game. Luckily, the game is fun enough to play the earlier levels still.
It was a lot better than I expected. Reminded me a lot of the Contra and Metal Slug games. Lots of Easter eggs throughout each level and many that gave me a lot of laughs. I like it. :)

This is a great, great game. Very special, very exciting. Really terrific. All others are a total disaster. Everyone agrees.
The game's creator put so much work into the humor of the game, and it is funny. Too bad it's unplayable. I've sat down with two different people trying to enjoy this game. I've never been able to get past the first level. Fix your game. It could've been great.
Just like in Handmaid's Tale, only a Canadian has the freedom to make a good game about America. Here you play as Trump as he ventures to save the US from soyviet Antifa dirtbags, oversized feminists, what appear to be CNBC news copters, and the occasional Confucius Institute graduate. Tough as nails but worth every penny because this July 4th, we make hastily put together games great again. Superb!

Let tell you this game is yuuuge! This is the greatest game, believe me. The graphics and gameplay are great! Believe me! The controls are top notch, the best in the country, whether you have big hands or tiny hands, these controls will work for you! Believe me!
If you want a great game and invest in the American economy, get this game! This game is changing games and finally has Made Americans Game Again!

Bought this game thinking it would be a joke and ended up playing it for hours. Fantastic game, and way more fun than you would think. I got to kill shia labeouf with a flamethrower... so much win.
This game might just save Western Civilization. Couldn't recommend more. Best played with a controller.
Straightforward platform shooter good for a few hours of lulz and pleasant 2016 campaign nostalgia. Controls are reasonably crisp, jump footing is forgiving, the memes are older but they check out. Learn to recognize patterns, be patient, and you'll never get tired of winning.

It knows what it is, it knows who it's for. It's not very good, but as far as joke's go, it's fine. The_Donald in game form.

I like the MAGA theme and Contra style. But, having only 1 life and alcohol bottles can't be destroyed. Nope, send that shit back to the drawing board please.
Level 2 is like the 8th level of Mario Brothers. The pattern I'm noticing with this game is I get really far 1 run, then I get decreasingly as far as my give a fuck-o-meter declines with every respawn until I Alt+F4 to exit.
Its fun for about 5 minute intervals and then I go play a AAA title like R6 Siege. Fuck this game.
There doesn't appear to be a way to exit the game and then recover starting at Level 2, you get to play the entire game from start to finish every launch. Did I already say fuck this game?
I love it so far. So many easter eggs in just the first area. It's laugh city! =P
Looking forward to playing more later!!
None of the controls work when I am a republican, I can move when Democrat but cannot shoot. Please fix this, I can't play it at all.
