The Story

Finn and Lucy were on their last trip together before college when they passed through a town that wasn't on any map called Crucible Falls. As they left, passing the picturesque coast and lighthouse, their car suddenly broke down.
That's when the "man from the doors" took them.

Crashed for me. I have a 3080 and a i5 13600k. ggs poorly optimised trash!
crashed for my mate over and over, on a 3080 ggs poorly optimised trash!
There were a few game breaking glitches, but it was an overall enjoyable experience. worth the $5
Sadly… this was not a great experience. My friend & myself had to face various issues… 😓
Notice that we both like or play this kind of co-op puzzle games (like the We Were Here series among others).
So here we go:
-technical aspect: needs optimization, needs to be polished (clipping, texture problems, bad lighting, variable framerate).
-logic: some puzzles can cause problems.
-we got stuck at some point because I would only respawn in another room instead of the puzzle room.
We could not find a way to avoid this and restarted the game. We had the same problem again then decided to stop.
-visually it could be a little improved, detailed.
-there is a little story but all the problems above did not help us wanting to know how it continues…
If this game gets updated someday maybe give it a try if it's cheap, otherwise don't loose your time for now.
In its current state it is just not enjoyable, sorry.
not as buggy as some say just that some of the puzzles are hard look around a lot.
good game puzzle hard much spook
I bought this looking for something like the We Were Here series (just played through all 3 with a friend). It's not anywhere close to as good as those. We beat Crucible, but got a pretty bad glitch that left a book open on my screen that I couldn't close about 3/4 of the way through and had to restart the whole game. Some of the puzzles were ok, but lots of 'you did it wrong now you die and have to start over, especially toward the end that was extremely tedious.
This is not a good game... most of the puzzles become a guessing game and are kinda annoying when you solve them but it makes no sense to you. The Enemies have a very basic and annoying AI that make them just straight up annoying too. But i will recommend this game just for the fun coop experience, its very fun to play with a friend (if you're both into puzzles and "horror"). If this game got a few fix ups it could be really good.
I do like the coop horror/ coop puzzle "theme" of the game and i hope to see more games like this.
If you value your friendships or sanity, do not buy this game. If someone gifts you this game, you should probably unfriend them. If you've received this game for free, I'm sorry my friend, but you are actually dead and in hell, this is your punishment for being a horrible person in life.
This might be the game for you if you enjoy controls that only sometimes work, extremely poor surprise platformers, or loads of red herrings.
I once got lost hiking in the mountains for 5 hours, got altitude sickness and was sure I was going to die. I thought it was the worst moment of my life, but in reality it was playing this game.
Turn back now unless you are TOO happy with your life and want to slum it up for a while.
A potentially enjoyable co-op concept...just way too many bugs. Based on other reviews, the same issues seem to arise semi-regularly, bringing things to an abrupt hault. At least the devs have a good idea of what to fix. (So I really hope they do!) I can't even remark on the puzzles, as I'm not sure if the problems we experienced had a direct impact on them. I will say that the sudden inclusion of an 'alien cube' and framed portraits were too obtuse. (Spoilers? Maybe?) I hope the story pulls it together later. The price is also a bit high (assuming it even works) for a timed game with no real replayability. If you want to take the chance, I did not encounter enough to warn others against it; but the gamble alone can be more of a deterrent.
you know, myself and my friend took a gamble on this, but considering it's £3.99, we thought "What the hell, go for it."
I have to say personally, I believe I got my money's worth and more.
Okay.. where to begin,
It's a co-op puzzle/atmospheric horror with a time-limit pressure, so immediately tension is pretty high coming out of the gate, I'm not the biggest puzzle player and we failed our first run which is fine, I completely enjoyed the experience, that moment when a puzzle seems like it has no answer and you hit that "Eureka!" moment and solve it, is the most satisfying moment you can have with this.
Reading through these other reviews, you'll see people use the words "Broken puzzles" What that translates to, is they couldn't solve it = Must be broken right?!
Sure, the puzzles are pretty brutal with absolutely minimal hand-holding, it's gonna make your noggin hurt, but that's what makes it all the more rewarding when you overcome it.
Now I'm not gonna brown-nose it all day, it can have some pretty game-ruining bugs,
(one to highlight.. don't re-enter the second Trap once it's solved, cause it can get you stuck in there forcing a restart - But really is that such a big deal if you know the answer to the first and second trap?)
The game itself, doesn't handle all that well, it's a bit clunky and there's bugs here and there, but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed what it had to offer and I would definitely recommend it, if you have an afternoon with a friend/partner and a few hours to kill.
and for £4... just give it a go...
Had a great time playing Crucible Falls, great effort guys! The puzzles are a great challenge and rewarding when you solve them. Be prepared to use communication and your puzzle-solving skills!
One of the things I appreciate most about this is honestly it's challenge level. I feel some game genre's have started to hold our hands too much, and it's nice to see a solid challenge with minimal instruction. Makes you think rather than have glowingly over-obvious goals.
A fun game if you're not braindead. Tad buggy but the developer is good at updating the game for fixes. Worth the money to support a great dev for future games.
Wow! What a game! A friend and I played this game together, and man this was fun! The puzzles can be challenging, and you need to make sure that you read EVERYTHING! If you have the right partner in this game, it will be amazing. This was fun, exciting, and at times a little scary! Worth every penny, and hoping that this company makes another game like it soon! Will be keeping my eyes open for the next one!
It was a tad buggy. But it was fun as hell. I love to support new developers so it was well worth the 5$.
Some annoyances and unclear strategies were had, not sure if we won because we gamed the system or not but hey, that is what fun is.
I would love to see more levels or expansion options and polishing up and this game will be a solid.
I know it's a puzzle game but some of the logic and ways to get through different parts of the game is just nonsensical. Maybe I'm just dumb. That's probably it actually.
This game seems to use the 2 hour timelimit to make it so you finish the game right around where you wouldn't be able to return it.
Played it for about an hour, the game had multiple bugs, somewhat shoddy controls, the voice chat in-game was so low we had to use a third party app in order to talk to each other. At one point a EAR PIERCING screech from someone onfire shreaks in the one players ear trying to be horror but more just a way to damage your ear drums.
I like the fact that they're trying to be a horror "We Were There" type of game, but dislike the fact that it doesn't feel like a finished, polished product like the original We Were There (Which is free) was. Along with the puzzles were glitchy/broken.
For example, the second puzzle, after solving it can be re-activated and inavertly breaks, which ruins the game until you restart. The puzzle afterwords seems to not follow the clue it gives, then shoves the other player in an almost empty room aside from an extremely loud wailling body on fire that chases you, which can be thwarted by positioning yourself inbetween 2 garbage barrels.
Overall, good attempt at something that could be a worthwhile co-op game. However the many game breaking bugs and overall unfinished feeling of the game makes this game fall short of being something I can recommend to people.

Basically the same as "We Were Here" (which is free), but buggier.
The in-game radio didn't work well, so we had to use discord to communicate.
The first puzzle is artificially difficult because the game lies to you, so you need to guess the correct solution. The second puzzle is difficult only because it's broken; half the time the water doesn't stop rising when it's supposed to (and stays risen even after resurrecting). After several more poorly-designed puzzles, we eventually gave up because the riddles+tables puzzle appeared to be completely broken (the items you need to pick up are in a random order, unrelated to the order given in the book)
I love this genre, but both the puzzle-design and the programming are too poorly done to recommend this game. I'd recommend instead checking out similar multiplayer puzzlers: We Were Here, We Were Here Too, and Last Will.
Great game made by some friends of mine. Graphics are really well done and the atmosphere is really spooky and scary. Would recommend this for a challenge or if you love puzzles!
Crucible Falls is a very enjoyable coop game with interesting cooperative riddles. We had a lot of fun in our nearly 6h gaming session and even after several playthroughs we didn’t discover all the different endings. All riddles are solvable, we never discovered a game breaking bug (hint: read the title of the plan next to the alien cube). The visual side of the game is great, not perfect, but it generates a spooky atmosphere. To be honest… I had more fun with this game than with the other AAA Games that came out recently. :)
I just found this game by searching for online coop games. And it was my luck!
The game puts the two player on a some kind strange place where they have to work together to escape. On your first run you will encounter some difficult and sometimes maybe frustrating bits but in the end it is a great feeling to finally solve all the puzzles (or maybe not all ;) ) and finish the game.
And me and my friend thought, well we play this game through once and have fun. How wrong we were!
After our first run there came another three playthroughs. For what, you ask? Well to beat the leaderboard on the website of course.
So all in all it is a remarkable game. Not for its rich story or for an amazing graphic (which is also not bad!) , but for a absolute fine and entertaining gaming concept and long time challenge for speedruns.
Thanks for making such games!
