This game is incredibly unforgiving, and you only get one life and then you have to start over (figure this is what arcade-style means, but I didn't understand that when I bought it).
A very shallow game that gets repetitive especially if you're not able to reach new levels which introduce new toys to fight without explaining their attacks or anything, so you just have to guess the attack pattern or lose all your progress.
Also it's awful that you can't choose to skip an item to get to the next level or choose which item in your inventory it replaces.
A fun, cute short game.
Pretty sure this game is abandoned
however its still a fun twin stick shooter.
I 100% it in under an hour so the 1$ price tag is worth it.
A fun bullet-hell survival. Play as a sentient box(?), whose mission is to eradicate all the possessed toys with the aid of power-ups along the way. I wish you could hold more than 3 power-ups at a time but hey, it's still fun and has plenty of synergies for you to discover!

A nice and simple alternative to Binding of Isaac. It's good for a quick hit of dopamine which is good for replacing the "routine" of a habit where dopamine is the reward (example: instead of snacking when you get bored, play this game). At the same time it is not really addictive (which is a good thing). Aside from the achievements there is nothing to unlock and you can quickly see all that the game has to offer. I'd recommend this for anyone looking for a game good for a quick break that won't suck you in.
This is a great game when you have one spare euro.
Describing small games by comparing them to bigger titles has always felt to me like a disservice towards the underdog; after all, we should be placing different expectations on small indie developers than on bigger studios with a greater budget. To Morning Never Comes, the nemesis is The Binding of Isaac, as should be evident to anyone who has run into Isaac before.
Everyone loves a good underdog story. It would be an honour to describe this game as secretly better than some titles with bigger recognition. Sadly, as you can see by the thumbs-down icon, this review of Morning Never Comes is not going to be one such story - and unfortunately, when put against its aforementioned nemesis, this game loses the fight before it even begins.
What you see in the promotional screenshots is, for better or worse, exactly what the game offers; nothing less, but also nothing more. You control a tiny cardboard character stuck in a dark room, running around in the only illuminated area as evil toys come marching towards you for whatever reason. Your method of fighting the malevolent dolls and ducks and robots (including the elusive I Can't Believe It's Not Chucky™!) are the projectiles shot out of the player character's face.
Every time you eradicate a set amount of enemies, you are given a box with an item inside it. The item will change some property of your bullets, ranging from simple damage-ups, through poison shots, to splitting in two once they hit the edge of the screen. This continues until your character dies to contact with something, be it an enemy's bullet or the enemy itself.
In a way, Morning Never Comes is an arcadey title at its purest. There is no deeper goal to pursue, maybe aside from getting all the achievements (which can easily be done in under an hour). There is no progression system or any goal to pursue beyond a new high score. This alone would sound good to score-grinders, but the title has some mechanical shortcomings which, for me, prevent it from being a cohesive experience.
- Hitboxes of the player character and enemy bullets are hard to read. Since it's very easy for the screen to get cluttered, oftentimes you can die to a bullet you could've sworn wasn't going to touch your character. Not to mention the only difference between your bullets and those shot by enemies is the colour (yellow and red, respectively), with no difference in shape or size, unless you were lucky enough to get items to modify that.
[*]You can only carry up to 3 items at a time and you have to pick up the item to initiate the next wave, even if it would be a downgrade to your loadout. The item will also replace the oldest one in your "bag". You are not given the option to discard the item given by the game and continue, nor are you given the choice of which one of your items gets swapped out.
Other than that... the experience is really underwhelming, even at such a small price tag. I wish I had some positive things to say about Morning Never Comes, but it doesn't offer me anything that The Binding of Isaac hasn't done better anyway.
If you're really hard-pressed for an arcade score-attack game that requires minimal thinking, you could give this a shot, given how inexpensive it is. Who knows, maybe you'll end up liking it more than I did?
The Morning Never Comes is a twin stick shoter like The Binding of Isaac but unfortunaly very minimalistic and no story what so ever , you can only carry three item ( which is not bad don't get me wrong ) and you need to recicle one at the end of each round but is very limited from what i saw and all of this happens on the same map over and over putting a new enemy per round .
I do belive this game could have been a bit more if the devs put some effort into it but at the end of the day this is a very cheap game with easy achievements , it is a fun game but it needs some work and thought to be a nice game to put 30h plus into it .

didn't think Danbo from Amazon could be such a badass but here we are.
Ok so i love this game. I haven't played it that much but since its small i kinda get it. this game is so beautiful and the artist who designed this should be proud as well as the person who smoothly coded this small masterpeace. Idk if it has mod support but if it doesnt then i would highly reccomend it as this game has serious mod potenital. My only issue is i would love to see it expanded but as it is intended to be a small game thats not really an issue
Decent shmup that can be beaten in one evening. I liked enemies design - reminds some horror movies. Success depends on weapons combination which is random.
So for a quick answer, i reccomend this game
Now this is exactly what the description of the game says, but i also have to add in some things. I think the game is great and an aswesome time killer. Alltho the game might be a bit too short. Achievements are gotten very quickly and i think that the game doesnt have enough variety. There are not a lot of items in the game gets really predictable since there arent a LOT of different monsters, after a couple of waves into the game its not going to change a lot besides it getting a bit harder and switching your items with a different one. A lot of people have complains about how you cant avoid picking up an item, but i think this is one of the gameplay mechanics so every wave is not exactly the same. Theres a global leaderboard so you can compete with other players. You can play with gamepad or keyboard. I think it might need some updates to add even more variety to the game, like more toys and more items. I think its definitly worth the 99 cents!
Morning Never Comes is a Bullet Hell Twin-Stick Shooter similiar to the Binding of Isaac or Touhou. You are a toy who goes around shooting bullets at the other toys in an arena until the round ends and you are awarded with an upgrading item. Every round goes like this, with each round getting slightly mroe difficult. It had some interesting mechanics, such as only being able to hold on to 3 items at a time, which keeps the difficulty rather even. The Character moves fast, and can be hard to control due to this at some points, but the only real problem I had with the game was how small the room was, and that there was only one room. If you could walk across two or three, or have a larger room, I feel the difficulty would be much better, as well as alot more fun. But, for a dollar, it is definitely a good way to spend a bit of time.
I love the game, the atmosphere is perfect for a shooter, and the mix up between toys and violence is a nice twist. I definatly recommend this game ^^
This game has always shown up on my recommendations, so I decided to finally give it a try for the .99 price tag. Definitely worth it. Extremely basic gameplay but controls seems fluid and is a good time passer while at work :)
You don't get the choice to avoid picking up an item, nor do you get to choose which of your current items to replace, so you can go from total badass to practically shooting blanks. I imagine some people find that exhilarating. I think it takes a lot of fun out of the game.
really fun, just a few fixes i would make to the game. first of all it would be really cool if you could choose wether you did or didn't want the item it presents you, thus far making the game easier. to balance it the developpers could increase the amount of enemies per wave or give them more health AFTER wave three to balance out the extra item. I feel like it would make the game alot more fun, and it would look really cool too. just in case the developersare reading this and are not able to update the game, they instead could make a cheap DLC, maybe seventy-five cents. otherwise, i really liked the game and i feel like it could turn into the next binding of isaac.
This game has good potential, it may need to be fixed on the programming though, last time i died, the character kept dying all over again. and it wouldn't end the game
So, it could be a bit more better if the programming was improved
This is well worth the 99 cents you are paying for it. Interesting spin on the twin stick shooter, where you play as a young child being attacked by the toys in his room.
The game starts off deceptively easy, and grows in difficulty level by level. Random power-ups one gets between levels prevents the game dynamics from getting stale.
Morning Never Comes is kinda average.
TL;DR: Decent, but has a lot of flaws.
There are pros to the game such as simple controls (move with WASD and shoot with the arrow keys) and unlike Binding of Isaac Rebirth, you're able to shoot in 8 directions. Also, I like the creepy setting of the game which is also complimented with the enemies that you fight. However, there's some problems that I'd like to address.
The movement feels awkward. Whenever you're moving around constantly it feels fine; however, your movement starts off slow then becomes normal. This makes stopping your movement very slippery and makes you feel like you're on ice. This becomes annoying because you either end up getting hit by something because you stopped moving, or you slide around awkwardly and run into something.
The powerups for the most part kept on reminding me of Binding of Isaac. While playing I kept referring to the items by the names they had in Isaac like the My Reflection shots, 20/20, and Parasite to name a few. My biggest problem with the items is that you can only hold 3 at a time. And on top of that, you cannot refuse an item you don't want. For example, let's say you have a decent loadout of homing shots, fast fire rate, and extra damage and then you finish the round. Well the game offers you something like boomerang (My Reflection) shots, which I personally don't like because it limits your range, you HAVE to take it to start the next round. With the 3 item cap, it forces you to get rid of the oldest item in your inventory, so if homing shots was the first thing you picked up, it's gone. This game would be helped a lot by having the option to decline items you don't want, or being able to pick which item you want to get rid of.
Another thing that might turn some players off is the lack of a health bar. You get hit once, you die. No continues. Now this isn't too annoying in my opinion, but it is always frustrating dying to one stray bullet that you weren't paying attention to. And I think this system is nice because it makes the leaderboard a lot more impressive (currently number 5 globally, but that'll probably change).
I'd say the biggest problem for me is the lack of replayability. Now I know that 0.7 hours (40 minutes) seems like a short amount of time to play a game, but I've already gotten 100% of the achievements. Literally 8 minutes into playing I got my high score of 81,000 something which as of 4/27/2018 makes me 5th on the global leaderboard. There's nothing to unlock because you start off with everything. Rounds are also predictable because every round it adds a new enemy type which is the same every single time you play. If you're looking for something to invest lots of time into, this is not the game to do that.
Overall, it's fun, but only in shorts bursts. The whole time I was playing this game I just kept thinking about how I could be playing Binding of Isaac. The game is fun, but there's not enough variety to keep it interesting for long gaming sessions. I've though a lot about whether or not I'd recommend this game, but I'd say as of right now I'd recommend it, but there's still some improvements that would make this game more fun that will hopefully be implemented in future updates.
TL;DR: Great cheap game. Get it if you've got a dollar to spare.
I'm going to be honest here - I did not expect this to be a good game. 1 English review? $1? It's set up to fail. But it's actually great. The graphics, while simple, match the theme of it being a kid's bedroom. The toys are well designed, and have good attack patterns. While they only take a few hits to kill, when there's a dozen on the screen it's hectic. There's no tutorial, but the controls are fairly simple - WASD to move and the arrow keys to shoot.
Get this game if you've got a dollar. It's worth it.
